This place genuinely has some of the best options for drinks i've ever seen. There is so many to choose from its overwhelming, but in a good way. I just want to try everything. There is one that I always default to whenever I need something to refresh me on a hot day: Avocado Smoothie with Boba and Pandan Jelly. The boba is mid, but the pandan jelly‍. My only complaint about this place is that the last time I went, I waited 45+ minutes for 4 drinks. About 15 minutes after I ordered, a girl came out to tell me that they had ran out of boba, and asked if I wanted to substitute it for any other toppings. I told them which toppings I wanted to substitute for the boba, and she went back inside to make my drinks. 30 minutes later, she came out with the drinks, but she also came out with an attitude... I thought I was super kind in the way I talked to her initially--even after she told me they ran out of boba--so I do not know what prompted for her to have such a rude tone. Not only that, one of my smoothies was not filled all the way, one of my dessert drinks was not covered correctly, and they skimped on the toppings. She explained that it took longer because apparently they also didn't have any of the other toppings ready, so they had to make some still. My boyfriend works for another boba store and I know for a fact that all the prep should be done in the morning, so I do not know why they have absolutely nothing at 1:30 pm in the AFTERNOON. Im assuming morning shift got lazy, or does not like their job enough. Even after she was rude to me, I still said thank you with a smile, and tipped even when she did not deserve it. We were greeted by the sweetest man, I believe he's the owner of the place. He took the time to explain the entire menu to us and recommend menu items based on our taste. He explained everything from what is inside each drink and which ones sell the most. When we ordered, he happily showed us how to mix our drinks the right way, even mixed it for us. He made sure we were happy with the taste before we left. But I've never felt so welcomed, he gave us the best possible impression of DD MAU. Best give them a try. Our desserts were around $7, and was abundant in fillings and fruits. Their coconut milk is MADE IN HOUSE and is fresh from the coconut. I originally came here for the coconut pandan waffles but of course I had to try their drinks... and let me tell you... BOTH DID NOT DISAPPOINT! 10/10 for the drinks, the waffles, and the service. I'm really glad there's a place close by now where I can grab some coconut pandas waffles! They are my favorite and to had a place that's close by that has them, PLUS delicious drinks is just win-win. The waffles are 2 for $7.50 or 1 for $4, I believe I could be mistaken for the price of one. But just get two cause one won't be enough! LOL they are really good! Finally tried this place. My friend said they have the best coconut pandan waffle and I confirmed that's true. Got the coconut pandan waffle and sweet avocado. Yep really good waffle, crispy and warm on the outside and sweet chewy almost like mochi on the inside. Sweet avocado is good if you like avocado. It comes with condensed milk and a bunch of different jellies. I got mine 25% sweet but it would have tasted better with more sugar. Next time I want to try all of the coconut desserts like Sweet Thai, dalgona coffee/matcha, and blended Vietnamese coffee. Everything looks so good on the menu. read more

This location use to have Bambu which was one of my favorite Vietnamese dessert spots. However the have closed and was replace by this spot. I figured I'd try it out, since it has similar desserts. I tried the chewy pandan and my mom got the avocado one. The chewy pandan was ok, but it wasn't sweet. I am comparing it to Bambu, cause there's is actually sweet and full of layers and flavor. So I was a bit disappointed at the lack of sweetness. I came back and tried the avocado hoping it would taste better. Same issue. not really sweet and basically felt like i was eating mashed avocado. it would have been great blended with some coconut milk and ice. Overall it kind of sadden me that the flavors weren't even close to the way Bambu makes there desserts. I don't know if having it less sweet is how it's suppose to be and Bambu just happens to make there's sweeter. But personally this place doesn't appeal to me. Service was mid. They just did there job, but it's those situations where there wasn't a friendly type of service where they smile and make you feel welcomed. Real talk...I miss Bambu. I will come back again....and maybe see if they can make the dessert sweeter. Update: so I came back today. I don't know what happened but they might have not sweetened my dessert last time. Since I have been on a hunt for pandan waffles for awhile, I decided to stop by this shop on a Tuesday evening after dinner. The interior of the shop is small with several seats and tables. Also, there's a order kiosk available to place orders, which I used and was very easy to order. I was able to wait about 10-15 minutes for my waffles to be ready fresh from the maker. The waffles were pretty crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle and there was mainly pandan flavors along with a few sprinkles of coconut flakes inside. For my next visit, I'll definitely get them more crispier, which was an option when I ordered on the kiosk. DD Mau is one of the most noteworthy "Boba" places I've been to in the U.S. I tried the Sweet Thai, Taiwanese Sweet, and Jelly Coco. The Sweet Thai was my favorite since it had ingredients that reminded me of South East Asia desserts such as the atap seed (gelatinous, translucent, smooth, palm seed), red tapioca (which is chewy and Boba like but with a crunchy chestnut center, first time seeing it in the U.S.), and pandan jelly (Take on a silky green opaque "jello" dessert called chendol, liked this one better since it was chewy), an icy cold dessert with a base of coconut milk, super good, I think if it was 70% sweetness it would be perfect. The Taiwanese Sweet is the Sweet Thai but with less fruits and more tapioca, chewy, desserts, and the Jelly Coco had an abundance of textures which fall apart in your mouth in a coconut water base (Grass jelly, coconut jelly, pops of basil seed). If DD Mau was near my house I would likely regularly go and burn my once a week cheat day on it, they have such idiocrasis drinks, I will definitely visit again! read more

This store has good Vietnamese coffee I had the one with taro foam and it added some great depth of flavor. It's strong and it kept me up with full of energy. The servers were polite and friendly if you have questions they will quickly give you great answers. Immediately greeting me and explaining the menu. Very helpful as he found out what types of drinks I liked to recommend me something. I got the "Chewy Taro" dessert drink. It came with Grass jelly, rainbow tapioca, taro jelly, basil seed, and coconut milk. Good flavors with fun jelly textures. I would definitely come here again and order this. The owner was super helpful in finding "the perfect drink" for us by explaining what each drink had and asking for our preferences for certain ingredients. From there, we got to choose a drink that seemed to fit what we liked. Dalgona Coffee: 3/5 - The dalgona coffee tasted like a bitter version of Vietnamese coffee, and not a good kind of bitter. Had a dalgona coffee at XFT before and was much better. Dessert #3 Sweet Thai: 4/5 - I like the combination of the ingredients in the drink, especially the fruit. There was longan, jackfruit, rambutan, and attap (kind of like grass jelly). I knocked off a point because I thought it was a bit too sweet, though I would come back to get it again. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. I am a pretty big fan of che, and this is my absolute favorite. I've probably had this place over 20 times in the last 2 months (I know, it's really a problem) It's located across the mall but the plaza is pretty empty and offers plenty of parking. The staff is so friendly and kind. The store is clean and they have a little greenhouse with some plants in case you want a plant to go with your che. Chewy pandan is my favorite, and i really like their red bean here. Their toppings are so fresh, red boba and pandan jelly is to die for. Their PANDAN JELLY TASTES LIKE PANDAN, which I really appreciate. Also, I am so happy that you can get a large here, another plus. The wait can be a little long, though, so maybe order ahead. I don't know why I didn't find DD Mau sooner. I am absolutely in love just from one visit. Everything on the menu looks good, but the Sweet Thai was the first to catch my eye. I was also in the mood for waffle, so I got a coconut pandan waffle as well. Then I got curious about the aloe vera drink, so I also got a peach aloe vera. Everything was good, although next time I would ask to adjust the sweetness level of the aloe drink or maybe even skip it since it's pricey. The coconut pandan waffle was amazing; it came out crispy just the way I like my waffles. Next time I think I would stick with one dessert and a coconut pandan waffle since I know I'll come back often to try most things on the menu. This place adds something very necessary to the growing popularity of Asian desserts which is the inclusion of Southeast Asian flavors and dessert types! So you do have your standard boba-shop flavors but its elevated, which is a good switch up from the industry standards. You should really come here because of what they specialize in. Leaning into ice-based Southeast Asian desserts (think: Filipino halo halo, or Vietnamese Che thai, or Korean Hwachae) is so perfect for SoCal, a lot more people should come here and be introduced to the wider variety of Asian flavors that exist beyond a matcha latte or boba. I got the Jelly Coco which was light, refreshing, had a variety of textures, and not too sweet. Although you'll find less common ingredients, they are not far from Western palettes, and its what makes each item unique. This spot makes it a point to make their drinks accessible with a pictured drinks menu and the cashiers who were happy to explain each ingredient. Tip in cash! read more
