Long story short, the guy in the Bay highlighted my entire head in bleach, burned off pieces of my hair underneath (I have thick hair thank god), and after growing it out for so long, my hair was super uneven, thin at the bottom, and the bleach parts refused to ever curl. My hair looked crazy unless I styled it-- the new growth being curly and the old hair lying pin straight. I couldn't take it anymore. I haven't had short-ish hair for many, many years and was terrified to cut it. My hair easily bounces between straight (if I brush it), wavy (if I wet it) and curly (if I scrunch it) so finding a stylist who knows how to manage my hair better than I do and cut it the correct way is a challenge. I haven't been to a real hair salon in probably 10-15 years. Went to Great clips about 5 years ago for my last hair cut but I wanted to splurge and get a little pampering! Most things are charged by the hour and each stylist has a different rate based on their "level" I came with a pic of what I wanted and Jade delivered. Almost identical. And if my face was as thin and flawless as the AI version I brought in it would have been exactly the same lol. When we were finished the manager came to check her work bc I assume maybe she's newer (which is fine), but the lady had to redo all of my layers because they weren't done correctly. So we stayed much later probably until 9:30pm. Then when I got home I noticed that one side was way shorter than the other! I had to personally cut almost 2in off my left side of hair just to get it even.
