I found Selly's studio by checking yelp and trusting reviews when my normal stylist was too busy. Selly's studio is close to my house and she responded to my text with an appointment right away. I sincerely appreciate the time I spent with Selly getting my blonde highlights done right before my vacation. She was very personable, funny and easy to feel comfortable with. I know stylist normally chit chat but I felt appreciated and trusted in real conversation while she brought my youth back. Supporting independent business owners is what my family prefers so I'm glad I went to her. I came home all excited telling my mom about my experience and now she wants to get an appointment. I'm extremely happy with my hair reasonably priced and I'm ready for my vacation.

Selly is great at getting my hair cut and dyed the way I want it. She used to be my hairstylist until I moved a couple hours away. Occasionally when I'm in the area, I would try to book an appointment with her. She is good at communicating, knows how to deal with my very super fine hair, and will kindly advise and refuse to dye my hair a color she knows will make me lose my hair (lol). Her shop is always clean and tidy. I find her service somewhat therapeutic! Maybe it's the hair when it's done..? Anyway, I would recommend. read more

Unfortunately, I'm not very happy with the service and the cut I received. After a while of not cutting my hair I needed an easy to maintain one that would look good for as long as possible. Will probably have to go to another place next time. read more

I called several times and no one picked up and finally someone texted me asking me for details as to what kind of cut, etc I responded by describing the kind of cut I am interested in and I asked how much, etc No response whatsoever!!! Garbage!!! read more

Selly and I kept missing each other for weeks due to Covid, but we got together today and I'm so glad! She reshaped and re-styled my hair exactly as I asked but with her professional spin on it. Selly is really sweet and very easy to talk to. Her salon is inside a building with a group of salons, and the building and her private salon are all very clean and comfortable. Made an appointment through Yelp. I had sent pictures of what I thought I wanted to do with my hair, but I was totally unsure. Selly was super sweet and made me feel comfortable. We were able to decide on something! I ended up getting low lights, which I never thought about. Also got it cut a right at my shoulders. It turned out pretty nice! Easy to maintain! I recently went to an appointment at Selly's and loved it. I told her what I had been thinking of switching my hair to and she listed to exactly what I wanted. I've had trouble in the past where hair stylists will sometimes take liberties with the suggestions, but she gave the exact haircut I asked for! She cut it to the exact length I wanted and she did a great job! Plus, the whole time she was giving the haircut, she was friendly and easy to talk to. She was exactly what I was looking for in a hair stylist and I highly recommend her. I'm definitely going to be returning to Selly for my haircuts in the future. read more

Selly was so great. Very knowledgeable and thorough and very honest. She knew what I wanted, listened and made me look great. I have had the worst luck in the past with stylists and some very expensive mistakes but she was just a complete breath of fresh air.. Oh and another thing !! Know how you always talk to the hair stylist about your day? Her office is private so you can chat away without a slew of stylists and fellow customers knowing your life story .. Selly is AMAZING!!!! Very friendly and definitely knows what she's doing. I love that she is flexible and understanding of her clients life schedules. I wanted to get my hair lighten n high lighted and she did it perfectly. She listened to what I wanted, gave me great suggestions, and did her magic. I have really fine hair but she made my hair look fuller. Ive definitely found my new hair stylist. Every where else I went to quoted me over $250 and indicated that cause my hair was so dark I needed to get my hair bleached which meant more damage to my hair. Selly didn't have to do all that and her prices are really fair. Thank you Selly. You definitely are my to go to stylist. We had great conversations. I had my first experience there today. She has her own little private space in the hair salon building next to Chucky Cheese so you are one on one with her. She understood right away what I wanted and did such a fantastic job! She is friendly and very lovable. I had hair color and hair cut which turned out great! I used to go to other salon in Folsom but got tired of my hair stylist pushing me to buy different products and get permanent make up done. Selly has no display of hair products in her studio and doesn't try to sell anything. She did better job than other place and price was nearly half of what I was paying. I feel like I found my own personal hair stylist! Highly recommended! read more

I'd never had highlights put in my hair before. I decided to try Selly after reading such great reviews on Yelp. I have medium-dark brown hair and was starting to go a bit gray here and there, with a lot of gray around the temples, and asked Selly about getting subtle highlights. She said it would work well on my hair. The results were so much better than I imagined - no gray, and the color looks so much richer! I am so happy with my hair now. I would highly recommend Selly. Love love love, wait did I mention that I LOVE selly. First off I enjoy the location. I don't have to deal with a bunch of women talking and being distracting around me. Next, selly is so sweet and easy to talk with that time just flies by. Most importantly she is a fantastic hair stylist! If I could give a hundred stars I would!! Selly is by far the best! I'll never go to anyone else again! I came to her with messed up hair I wasn't happy with. She told me all my options I had in order to fix it and what the process would be! Everything she did she explained why and after two appointments my hair is perfect and I couldn't be happier!! Selly makes you feel comfortable and relaxed and NEVER rushes you! Very sweet! We talked the whole time and I felt like I could tell her anything! Best girl time while getting your hair done! I met a variety of students that were always so kind and service is amazing. Every time I walk in for an appointment, the environment is always clean and organized. I make sure to tip the students generously because I've heard they don't get paid for doing services. However, one thing of feedback I have is to improve on communication. Upon arrival, clients will do additional one page paperwork that asks what skin care products you use, yes/no questions, and another signature. It's quick and simple to do! Then, an esthetics instructor pulled me to the side and asked we could talk. There was another woman alongside her who I did not recognize and never met in my life nor did she introduce herself. The esthetics instructor told me they were not sure why no one told me but are unable to do services on me because they basically found things in my hair 2 weeks ago at my facial and back treatment appointment. While I appreciate the instructor informing me this, this interaction was indeed embarrassing just like the instructor said so. If it is so embarrassing, why was I told this in-person rather than a phone call? I made this appointment 2 weeks prior so they had 2 weeks to communicate with me. I have Hoss Lee Academy's number saved so if they called me I would have known but they did not. This was honestly unprofessional and disappointed with HLA. I hate having to write a review like this but during and after that interaction I feel humiliated. I drove far and wasted my gas for an interaction that could have and should either been done over an email or a call. If this is how Hoss Lee Academy treats their clients I can't imagine what it is like to be a student. You truly get what you pay for; I am going to find another place and if I have to pay more for better customer service then so be it.

My hair easily bounces between straight (if I brush it), wavy (if I wet it) and curly (if I scrunch it) so finding a stylist who knows how to manage my hair better than I do and cut it the correct way is a challenge. Bahar was friendly, asked lots of questions, was gentle on my hair and gave me the first dry cut I had ever had in my life!! The result? My waves and curls didn't go into shock and my hair feels gorgeous - I live in San Jose and will definitely be making the drive up to see Bahar to have regular haircuts.

I went into Selly's Studio Salon after my friend recommended me to check her out and I have NO REGRETS! She will be my hairstylist from now on! Her place we clean and very cutely decorated. My hair was all the way down almost to my waist and I wanted layers all around but not too much because I have naturally curly hair. wasn't sure if I wanted it cut dry or wet so I went with her suggestion of getting it cut wet because it would work better for the layers. I'm glad I listened to her because it might have come out to choppy and blunt if I had got a dry cut. She styled my hair afterwards with a nice little flip at the ends and I loved it! Its something that I can continue to do myself. I would highly recommend Selly and her salon. The prices are great as well! and she is one of the sweetest persons that I have met. read more

I got my haircut here the other day and I really liked it. I've moved in the area a year ago and so I've been getting my haircut all over looking for someone who can get it right. And I think I've found the spot! I will be coming back to Selly's Studio Salon! The only small issue I had was I had to wait for about 30 minutes, she was doing a lady's hair. Next time I will call and make a appointment. Oh I also got a stamp card, after 5 haircut's next 1 is free! I get my haircut every 2 weeks so I'll be getting a freebie in no time. read more

It's been a few years since I found Selly's hair studio. When I first googled where to have my hair trimmed in the Citrus Heights area, I never would have guessed the level of care and authenticity that I'd find. Selly has become more than my hair "therapist", she has become one of my closest friends.
