We visited in the transition from one spot to another. It wasn't quite what I expected based on old reviews. There's nothing NY about this bagel spot. The bagels were squishy, there weren't many options to choose from and upon ordering The New Yorker there was no salt/pepper/ketchup on it. Only coffee available was instant coffee. Counter workers were really uninterested in being there and it just felt like we were in the way. I hope they improve going forward as Belmont needs a good bagel spot. read more

Terrible service, attitude and horrible food. Way overpriced. The older gentleman was rude, our food was made incorrectly and told us we ordered it wrong. I went today for my first time. 1) No one was in the restaurant at 8:45 AM on a Sunday. Alright. 2) I ordered a bagel with lox spread ($4.99, per the menu). When I paid, it was $9. I explained the menu states $4.99, and he said "you're paying for real lox." What did I get? A weird/funky bagel that had sub-par plain cream cheese and a piece of lox on it. That is not lox spread. My husband and I have been on the hunt for the perfect bagels near us and we were excited to try De Coria's. Let me start by saying we're kind of annoying bagel snobs, so our standards were high. We ordered online, which was super easy, and headed over to Estia's Greek restaurant, where De Coria's has set up shop. The setup is unassuming with a simple fold up table and some treats laid out. We ordered the Brooklyn sandwich on an everything bagel (sausage, egg and cheese) and lox and scallion cream cheese on an Asiago bagel. There was only one man working and he was really friendly bringing out our bagels. Overall, I loved the menu and the concept behind De Coria's. The bagels just weren't our favorites- they were flat and chewy, and the eggs and sausage just weren't cooked well. However, the bagels had a decent flavor. All were extremely pleased with their selections. De Coria's will be a standard addition to our lunch rotation. We have been looking for an alternative to the fast food humdrum. We decided to have dinner after seeing the new menu posted on Facebook. I wish we hadn't. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty at 7pm on a Saturday night. We had to call out to see if anyone was working. This should have been a sign to leave. The owner (?) came out to take our order with a mouth full of food. We ordered scallops with mushroom risotto and the lobster tail over cheesy grits. We got rice in a cheesy sauce with some sort of fish, and a lobster tail over cheesy angel hair pasta. My husband's meal (pictured) definitely did not include mushrooms, risotto, or scallops. We questioned our meals and were told that the menu changed. I wanted to like our meal and give this restaurant our business. But the food was terrible. We paid for our meals ($30 each) and left. This was by far the worst dining experience we have ever had. It was toasted perfectly and very flavorful. I am not from NY, so can't say I am an expert, but I didn't think the bagels were as dense as many NY bagels I have had. Which I prefer. I loved the crisp on the top and the flavor was just so good. Also, they make their jalapeño cream cheese with fresh jalapeño instead of pickled which I loved!! Nice folks. It's an Afterthought addition to the Greek restaurant: bagels are oddly sweet and soft, and expensive. Pretty doughy, mine was slightly undercooked. Great service and super friendly people, but I'm not in love with the bagels here. Seems to be a bit undone in the middle and overdone on the outside. On this visit I ordered the Classic Rueben. Corned Beef with melted swiss and 1000 island dressing. I chose to have on an everything bagel. The menu description did not mention Kraut or Slaw but there was a few threads of cabbage on top that I believe to have been slaw. The corned beef was excellent quality but again, just not in love with the quality of the bagels. I really wanted to like this place, especially since it's the only bagel spot in town. But sadly I was highly disappointed. My husband and I got two everything bagels with egg and cheese - they tasted like plastic, very poorly made with poor ingredients and didn't taste fresh at all. The price was very high for two bagels as well (a little over $20) total including tip. I hate to have to leave such a negative review to hard working Latinos, but the fact is, the bagels suck! And the Grits are TERRIBLE! For starters there's no signage except an "open" sign hanging from the building. When you walk in, it absolutely feels like you walked into a wrong location! It doesn't look or feel like a bagel shop. They have a very cheesy and temporary set up like the Girl Scouts would set up a table outside of a supermarket. The place is extremely quiet, no music , no TV's just dead silence you could hear everyone chewing. The bagels are hard as a rock! No native New Yorker would give this place a pass. I'm not sure who wrote those good reviews, but I would definitely not return or recommend. Over 16$ for a breakfast bagel, a coffee and quite possibly the worst grits I've ever tasted in my life! We stopped in on a Saturday to get bagels to have at our Sunday brunch. They weren't that great, a step up from store bought. He wrote down the flavors we asked for from the menu provided, but didn't get the right flavors in the bag. The menu stated the baker's dozen (one free) was $18.25, which was high, but we figured they'd be worth it... we were charged over $20 and when I asked, we were told the menus were wrong, and they plan to get new ones (these are paper printed menus, not fancy or laminated) Just disappointed. read more

Gave De Coria's another chance in their new location which is inside of Estias. I was really hoping that after over a year in business and moving to a new location, the quality would improve but I was still left unimpressed. The set up itself is lackluster, with a folding table as the counter and no bagels on display (just kept in the back.) Hopefully that's temporary. The bagel itself was still underwhelming, with very little flavor. The egg on the bagel was WAY too runny but the bacon was super crispy. It's obvious the owner is really passionate about what he's doing and seems to be very friendly, but after three visits, I think I'm giving up. read more

The only thing that I would say wasn't true to a New York breakfast sandwich was the ingredients on my sandwich from De Coria's were super fresh and cooked to perfection. What an improvement! I was so excited to find fresh eggs cooked just right on my sandwich. Over scrambled eggs cooked on high heat is the most common offense committed when making a breakfast sandwich. What a pleasant surprise to find a place that knows how to make eggs properly. The caramelized onions I requested on my sandwich were done with the same diligence. Although I have not tasted The bagel yet I'm using it for lunch it's an interesting bagel shop. There's no menu on the wall that tells you what bagels they have or what they can make. You really don't see the bagels they're in the back somewhere.
