I asked for extra meat several times over the recent times (to compensate for the skimpy meat). and they get the order wrong so I wind up with a $15 hot pastramis sandwich that is mostly bread. When I inquired they blamed me for placing the order wrong - but I was clear (but classic business today). I can get a better consistent made sandwich at Arby's (sad to say). Picky bagel eater here! I feel the need to mention this in any review I write about pizza or bagels, but I grew up in NY and we are really annoyingly picky about these food items. Bagel Boat was legit!!! Just reading the menu gave me good vibes: a couple things that you can't always find at other spots - olive cream cheese, salt bagels, rainbow cookies, black & white cookies. Caught my attention for sure. I had an everything bagel (which also included oats on top that I wasn't expecting but I enjoyed) with olive cream cheese. And they did NOT skimp on the cream cheese. Very close comparison to what I grew up with or at least better than most I've tried outside of the NY/NJ area. Slightly sweet, chewy dough, nice heavier consistency. I will definitely be back to try a BECSPK and those cookies. Excited to have found my bagel spot! read more

Stopped in on Wednesday morning on my way back to Charlotte to grab breakfast for my son and I. Their prices were comparable with other bagel shops in my area, but the quality was disappointing. My everything bagel had no flavor, which is surprising and there was barely any cheese on the bagel sandwich. For $6.95, I expected more than what I received. My son did enjoy his bagel with egg and the blueberry bagel I brought home for my husband was good. I prefer to support local shops, but in this case I will not be returning based on this experience. read more

Please I beg of you. Save your time and money. Save your effort. Save yourself. Do not go to Bagel Boat. I'm going to keep this one short and sweet and to the point. We got 3 bagels of varying type. When we got them we noticed they were not toasted. We had specifically asked for this. They were barely warm and quite soft. So it seemed like they weren't toasted. We brought them back inside to the workers and I guess one of the managers came along. They pointed out that the bagels had been toasted as they were ran through some kind of toaster and that if we wanted them more toasted we'd need to request it be ran through 3 times. These workers were very adamant about the technicality of the bagels being toasted and it came off very arrogant and condescending. Also we thought we got plain bagels instead of Asiago like we asked. They were happy to inform that their Asiago cheewe was cooked into the bagel instead of a traditional 'cheese on the top' way. Overall, the bagels were not toasted, regardless of being ran through a toaster. And the Asiago still tasted like a plain bagel despite technically having cheese. So yes, the workers were certainly right about the technicality of it all. Especially when they forced us to pull our bagels out to prove ourselves. But was I even remotely satisfied? Absolutely not. This place was amazing. A cute little family restaurant across the bridge near the Lake Wylie in South Carolina. We were headed to Penland Tree Farm to hunt for Christmas trees and this was one of the few semi breakfast spots on the way there. It was perfect. It looked deserted, but be mindful it has a drive thru which is an awesome feature and it was also lunch time by the time we got there (1230-ish). From the bagel window, it looked like the morning rush really came through. There were only a few flavors left. I ordered the basic traditional plain bagel with plain spread. It's always yummier when you get it not from home. They were very generous with the spread which I loveeee cream cheese. The boyfriend got the Boat BLT which normally comes on an everything bagel, but substituted for sourdough bread. It came with a siracha mayo sauce that was soooo good. If you love BLTs get this. The everything bagel Boat BLT was also pretty good normally. It came with a small side of coleslaw which was sweet and creamy so yummy! Oh and a dill pickle! Love this place. They also do coffees and hot chocolates, fruit smoothies, ice creams in waffles, and they also sell paintings! This place was amazing! Definitely better option for a breakfast choice. read more

They advertise NY bagels so I decided to try them as I was in Lake Wylie this morning. It's no bueno... My bagel has a decidedly non northern bagel shop texture when bitten. It was bready and kinda dry similar to bagels you tried in a sleeve from your supermarket My egg isn't fried sooooo... However, it's thick... WTH? Now to the SINGLE slice of Taylor ham. I asked for the Taylor ham to be cooked well done but shouldn't there be more meat on a $6+ sandwich. As for the toasting of the bagel, I didn't ask for it and neither should you unless you appreciate the well toasted taste from your bread. Sigh, you may disagree but Rock Hill Bagels on Mt. I honestly have no idea how anyone could give this place 5 stars! They "import" bagels from NY? I doubt it, being from Ny it's like no NY bagel I've ever had. That's not the worst part about it though! My husband ordered 2 egg sandwiches, why do they microwave the eggs and meat? You can't cook on a griddle so people have non rubbery fresh cooked eggs? If I want that I'd go to Dunkin, or MCDonalds! Starbucks SousVide egg bites are better and cheaper. For $8 I dont want microwaved eggs on a stale bagel. This was an interesting spot! We came in due to all of the positive reviews and it was a solid lunch choice. The inside of the restaurant was super cool with lots of unique looking antiques and photos. Definitely felt homey! There was only one employee working and she was so kind. Explained all of the menu options to us and was patient. Our food was good as well. The croissant was perfectly toasted with a large portion of turkey for a lunch sized meal. I've passed this cafe many times and finally, I stopped in for lunch. The Bagel Boat is tucked away on South Carolina Hwy NC-49. There's a small private parking lot in front of the building. Inside there's plenty of seating available for customers. I like the cozy/casual atmosphere. If you're in a rush there's a drive-thru around back. Convenient right? Okay, let's talk BAGELS! Customers can enjoy a variety of authentic fresh flavors. Options include: Asiago Cheese, (Parve), Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon Raisin, French Toast, Multi-Grain, Onion, Plain, Sun-Dried Tomato and more. I ordered the "Fresh Lox" on the Sun-Dried Tomato, the taste was outstanding. I spent most of my childhood in the Jersey City area, I've enjoyed may bagels, yet I've never come across a "Sun-Dried Tomato" flavor. Bravo Bagel Boat! Aside from Bagels, customers can enjoy other menu options. From salads and sandwiches to milkshakes! There's something for everyone. Fantastic customer service, pretty mediocre bagels. I'm so sorry... Drove over 30 minutes for these "New York/New Jersey" bagels. They were very dry and hard to chew. I read all the reviews, the good and the bad, but decided to give them a chance because I was desperate for some good bagels. I regret it. I should have trusted Yelp. I can imagine their sandwiches are good, since their sandwich ingredients looked super fresh. Also, they have plenty of cute seating inside. But their bagels were really.. mediocre. Maybe I went on a bad day or at a bad time? But I kid you not, their bagels were very dry and tough. The bagels are fine. The secret to a great bagel is a crunchy exterior and soft interior. When purchased, they are just that. Not super crispy but better than my day-old one that I am looking at now. The young clerks this time (maybe it was the face mask not appropriately placed over both young clerks' mouth AND NOSE) as SC reopens. But on any day, the service for a drive through is in getting the order right the first time. I didn't want the entire order "sliced-through" and then also "quarter-sliced" -- resulting in 8 smaller pieces. I wanted one quarter-sliced (4 chunky pieces). ...the manager, I just talked to about my drive through experience, was fair. I asked for what I wanted because they don't make mini-bagels (readily offered in NJ by the owner of the Bagel Hut to my infant and toddler for free). All of my bagels were sliced through and then quarter sliced - I found out the 8-piece error yesterday for one bagel -- and discovered all the others were erroneously sliced this morning. Offering Mini bagels could be an answer for this issue. ?! The manager will replace my bagels on another day. He again was reasonable. I added pictures of the 3 remaining quarter sliced of my 4 bagel original order.
