It was our first time trying out Carribean food. We came to NYC to check out the attractions for a few days and found this gem while walking around Brooklyn. The jerk chicken was the best chicken we've ever had and cassava fries were wonderful. The lady who served us was really nice. She gave us samples of different kind of rice they had since we weren't sure the differences between each one This place was so good that we had to come in a second time! and we got got the chicken curry and pumpkin rice. The festivals that came with our food were really good. But our favorite thing was probably the barbecue sauce. It was a little spicy but also flavorful at the same time. Well the food does take kinda long I waited about 20 minutes to get my food. So if your in a rush just go to the Popeyes right next to it. Also the cashiers are sometimes very rude and disrespectful and can really put you in a bad mood. The food is decent. read more

I called to place an order and the person that took my order was very friendly. I was not sure how to order fish because it was my first time. She gave me the information and an estimated amount of time that it takes for them to get it ready. When I got there they emphasized using my name to speak to me (the joys of leaving your name for the order I guess lol). Maybe they are listening to the reviewers. While they were getting my order finalized, I was able to speak to the manager about the reviews and what brought me there because he was standing nearby. He told me about the place and their menu items. I bought fish (jerk and fried), pasta, jerk chicken, curry chicken, and oxtails. My dish was the oxtails, pasta, and jerk chicken. I will say that the sauce for the jerk chicken made it pop. I'm willing to go back and try their other menu items such as the roti and etc. read more

I love this restaurant!! Great Jamaican food. I use this place for catering and for takeout. The owner Kash is great. I used him to cater a birthday party and everyone loved it. This is the only place I know of that has Pumpkin and Calallo rice along with Rice and peas. Their festivals are delicious too. The prices are reasonable the food is great. This is a good place for Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, and they have the best mini beef/chicken patties too. This is a great place to try. read more

First of all I have traveled all over the Caribbean, and let me tell you that this place does not in the slightest bit represent any of the other islands except for Jamaican cuisine, so that in my book justifies the removal of two stars on the basis of false advertisement, secondly the people in the islands definitely know how to clean and season meats quite well, this place however has the seasoned taste but sadly the chicken still had a lot of the excess fats on them so another star is gone, third I really wanted to take away another because the staff to be fair is not at all pleasing too look at (you know my meaning) but of course that in itself would have only made me seem a bit of a jerk :) read more

They have the best juiciest jerk chicken I have ever had. It contains all of the spices of jerk chicken but it is moist like rotisserie chicken. I also like their cassava fries. I have not had anything else on their menu, but I look forward to trying more things. But I can't help but to get the jerk chicken when I go here. Awesome soups. I've tasted several soups from here and all of them were great. The corn soup was my favorite.

As you walk up to this place the smell of their sweet jerk catches your smell-buds. The service was polite an helpful. The place is clean, bright and welcoming. The jerk chicken was juicy and tasty. The jerk sauce is SO GOOD and just the right measure of sweet and spicy. The fries were perfectly seasoned and not too salty. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I'm glad I found this place. I only recently discovered jerk, but I see it's one of those foods that "when you gotta have it, YOU GOTTA HAVE IT!" Glad this place isn't far. $27.50 bought me too much food for three people.
