Used to be a solid 5 stars. I've been a loyal customer of Deliberto's for years and it genuinely pains me to write this review, but the decline in quality over the past two months has been impossible to overlook. The food I keep coming back for -- the California burrito, carne asada fries, nachos, and rolled tacos -- used to be outstanding. Hot, fresh, and worth every penny. Now the same dishes arrive cold or at room temperature, and the aguas frescas that were once a highlight taste noticeably watered down. I want to be fair: I considered that off-peak hours might explain the issue, so I visited at various times -- early morning, afternoon, late afternoon, evening, and late at night. The problem persisted across every visit, which tells me this is a systemic issue rather than a timing one. To top it off, prices have roughly doubled from what they used to be. I'd expect premium quality at premium prices -- unfortunately that's no longer the case here. I do want to note that the staff remains friendly and welcoming -- that hasn't changed, and they deserve credit for it. The issue is clearly in the kitchen. Deliberto's used to be a place I recommended without hesitation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and returns to the standard that built their loyal customer base. Until then, I unfortunately cannot continue to support or recommend this establishment. read more

The food is delicious and the price is right! They have a drive-through service or you can dine in. We decided to dine in. The restaurant was clean and spacious. It was a busy Saturday evening, but service was quick and friendly. They have a nice hot sauce bar. This is a great place. read more

If I could, I'd rate it at 3.5 because I will go back. In my SDSU days (and to be honest, throughout my life while I lived in SD), I'd eat a burrito at least once a week. After moving to North County, we had to find our new favorite taco shops. We've lived up here just over 10 years and this is the first shop that is most closely reminiscent of a taco shop from SD. It's a very weird comparison, maybe for out of towners, but my San Diegan partner and I agreed on this. 1) it's open late. Why are so many taco shops closing at 9 pm up here?? Haha. So thank you Deiberto's for staying open 24/7! 2) their green and red salsas. No fancy habanero salsa here, which I typically choose, but their salsa Verde reminds me that I used to love getting green salsas for anything I ordered. Their salsa Verde is good! 3) speed. Living in North County means you often have to deal with businesses which close super early. As others stated, that this place is open 24/7 is a benefit to all of Oceanside. Being my first time, we decided to place a relatively safe order for carne asada fries, a breakfast burrito, and a quesadilla. The good: * The quesadilla itself was one of the best I've ever had at a drive-thru Mexican restaurant. * The French fries in the carne asada fries were absolutely perfect in size and in overall preparation. You won't get gigantic or baby size fries (both of which ruin this order). The quality of the carne asada as also top tier. * Your order is almost always completed by the time you pull up to the window. * The red sauce is damn good. The medium: * The breakfast burrito tortilla was overcooked to the point of being burned in a few spots. Not terribly overdone, but it was not as chewy as much as it was dry. * Also, the burrito itself was pretty salty. Not sure if it had to do with the bacon inside, but it certainly hit in a way I wasn't expecting nor found to really be needed. It was not bad as I'll probably get it again, but it caught me off guard. The bad: * As others stated, it's right off Mission so it's very loud outside. Ordering in drive thru was tough because of this. Also, their speaker should get replaced as it sounds way overdue. * The area itself surrounding it can be very sketchy late at night. Not their fault at all, since businesses like this can't control that. Just putting it here so you can best prepare for any late night visits. It's not as bad as Pedro's Tacos is further down, so keep that in mind. Overall, I did enjoy the food we ordered and found it to be at the price I'd expect for each item. Though the days of the $5 breakfast burrito may be long gone, you'll find a good value for your dollar here. Huge tostada de ceviche!!!! Huge! No peppers so I can handle it lol. Fresh, filling, yummy. I asked for Mayo to add to the tostada. Kids meal is big too. While visiting California we stop by to get a bite to eat. This is what we ordered 1 California burrito, 1 carne asada burrito, carne asada fries and 12 rolled tacos. The cali burrito and asada burrito were nice and big great taste. Carne asada fries were a nice mixture. Rolled tacos were nicely topped off with guacamole and cheese. The salsas had a fresh taste and spice. No problem with the food. The missing star was for the young lady taking our order, no customer service (no hello, no thank you or asking the simple question is there anything else). I like that they have a drive-thru, really nice when you don't want to get out of your car. Unfortunately, the drive-thru speaker box isn't very clear and considering Deiberto's sits right on Mission Avenue, it can be difficult to hear with all the traffic sounds and fire trucks blaring their horns right next to you. I think because of this, they added pico to my burrito even though I said not to. Prices here are pretty good considering our current inflation. Many other burrito places are charging $12+ for a carne asada burrito. Deiberto's is $9.53 - such a specific price but hey, it's under $10. The meat is okay by taste - I've had better, but the SIZE of their burritos is just freakin' massive. I mean, I almost want to say - too big? Yeah I know, don't shame me but seriously it can be difficult to hold. We had a horchata too...pretty good, not overly sweet. But they forgot to give it to us in the drive-thru, so we had to park and walk in to get it. Wait time is minimal too - they operate pretty quickly. I'm not the type to review places but, this Taco joint is worth it. I stopped here about an hour ago with my dog on the way to the park and got a bean and cheese burrito and this one was bomb! Tortilla is great, not too thin, not too thick. The beans weren't too salty and had great flavor. Not runny either. And the cheese was a good mix of melted and unmelted.
