There are taco shops and then there is the real thing. I knew this tiny hole in the wall was going to kick ass even before I walked in. You enter and there is an awesome salsa bar with many salsas, Mexican carrots and onions, chopped onions, and so much more, Mexican soccer (ok, futbol) on the tube, homemade aguas frescas, and real cooking happening behind the counter. You should be convinced by now that this is the real deal. I beg you: please do not order a bean and cheese burrito here. The adobada burrito is wonderful. It is perfectly-sized and the meat is freshly-cooked, well-seasoned and delicious. I have no doubt every item on the menu tastes great, probably even the bean and cheese burrito. With your burrito, you get two small plastic cups for salsa and a baggie for carrots or peppers or whatever. It is 25 cents for each additional salsa cup, which seems a little steep. But whatever you do, make sure you get the chipotle salsa. It may be the best salsa in history. It is honestly that good. I drove 25 minutes getting there and another 25 minutes getting home in order to try this place out, and there is a taco shop a quarter mile from me that I happily passed. Might sound silly but kind of reminded me of McDonald's fries texture which I like! Came with a good amount of everything; the carne asada, cheese, guac and sour cream. Trying to find a place to go to the restroom and I went in this place and the lady tells me it's customers only well that's a good way to never have me as a customer. I'm not hungry now, but I would've came back and tried your tacos. I love Mexican food, and I'm always in this area And if you were friendly and polite and let me use the restroom I would've made my way and I would've gone out of my way to come here and try your food but instead, I will never go here. When I walked in, the woman at the counter greeted me with a big smile and offered me a taste of the aguas frescas before I even ordered--which was a nice surprise. I went for a California burrito with everything and a chicken burrito with everything. Both were packed with flavor, satisfying, and totally lived up to the hype. The salsa bar had tons of options--salsas, pickled carrots and onions, spicy cucumbers, limes--which added a perfect finishing touch to the meal. Tolin's Tacos is honestly a solid spot. I got a carne asada burrito and a super burrito, and both were really good. The carne asada had great flavor and wasn't dry like a lot of places mess up. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were definitely worth it. The super burrito was loaded but still put together well, not falling apart halfway through. The Medium Carne Asada Nachos were $8.99. They were flavorful and fresh. Depending on how hungry you are, they could feed one or two people. There are a few tables inside and they're all clean and intact. I passed multiple other Mexican food restaurants to go to this one and it was definitely worth it. I went there just now after seeing some post about it on Reddit last night. Holy moly, that Cali Burrito may have been the best I've ever had and every salsa was delicious. The chunkier one was not like any other salsa I've had at a taco shop and it was marvelous. Burrito could have been slightly bigger at $14 but hell that flavor and balance was worth it. I like this place for their California burritos and tacos however this time it was the first time I ordered carne asada fries. And yikes the portions are so small the fries and meat don't even come up to half way on the bottom of the take out container. Disappointed for the price I paid to say the least. I have to leave a review for this place after the positive experience I just had there. I ordered 1/2 carne asada 1/2 adobada fries with a flour tortilla on the side and was under $20 (they charge $2 more to mix meats) The salsa bar alone deserves them five stars. They give you 3 cups and a bag but choose wisely. I first noticed the fresh cut limes which is an infrequent touch in itself Numerous amounts of salsa and fixings but what sets them apart is a tray of their guacamole sitting there for free. They also have cucumber, lime, and chile right there which I filled my bag and snacked on while I waited. The food was probably the best damn fries like that I've ever had and comes charred and perfectly proportioned with the fries staying crispy which I almost didn't finish but it was too good Check them out and tip well read more

This place is a hole in the wall mexican place that is tied for first place for my favorite mexican in Vista, CA. There's literally about 3 tables inside the restaurant so usually I order take out. The salsa bar is really good with lots of salsa options, hot carrots, spicy cucumbers & more. The carne asada burrito was really good. Ultimately I like trying different taco shops & this one soley based on taste is one of the better taco shops in Vista. In West Vista I think it's the best taco shop. Again, this place is a hole in the wall but if you're looking for good mexican & you don't care about ambiance then for sure try this spot. Really good food for the low price. This shop can be hard to miss from where it's located but if you have a chance and want some Mexican food and you are in the area then come here 100%. The service is really fast and the lady behind the counter was very sweet. I love how there's a whole little bar of sauces you can choose from that are labeled from mild to spicy. The sauces were quite delicious and they tasted fresh. It took around 5 minutes to get my food ready but there was only 3 people inside the store when I was inside. The store itself is a really small hole in the wall location. Nothing fancy but clean. The food was delicious. Won't say it's the best carne asada fries I've ever had but they were really tasty and the portion was huge! They did not go light on the carne which was nice. Tolin's is a delicious taco shop nestled in a small, unassuming plaza and is sandwiched between a barber shop and a liquor store. It's your typical mom & pop style restaurant with friendly staff which serves up some delicious mexican food. The space is really small with only three 4-person booths but mostly people come here for takeout. They have a wide variety of tacos but so far I've only tried the adobada, chicken and carne asada tacos since each taco is a $1.00 special depending on the day from Monday - Thursday. The meats are all very flavorful and the fixings on top just completes the awesome taco experience. The wet burrito and chicken nachos are also enjoyable menu items. Meat and fillings/toppings are generously portioned and bursting with flavor. Also, I had the half carne asada and half adobada fries and my goodness it was delectable.
