I love this place! Definitely underrated. I recommend it here. Plus is their prices. I promise you won't regret.

This taco spot is amazing! The tacos are absolutely bomb--fresh, flavorful, and packed with meat. The prices are hard to beat, especially for the quality and portions you get. Great food, great value, and friendly service. Definitely one of my go-to places whenever I'm craving tacos. Highly recommend!

Adobada Burrito was fantastic. The meat was freshly-cooked and delicious.

There are taco shops and then there is the real thing. I knew this tiny hole in the wall was going to kick ass even before I walked in. You enter and there is an awesome salsa bar with many salsas, Mexican carrots and onions, chopped onions, and so much more, Mexican soccer (ok, futbol) on the tube, homemade aguas frescas, and real cooking happening behind the counter. You should be convinced by now that this is the real deal. I beg you: please do not order a bean and cheese burrito here. The adobada burrito is wonderful. It is perfectly-sized and the meat is freshly-cooked, well-seasoned and delicious. I have no doubt every item on the menu tastes great, probably even the bean and cheese burrito. With your burrito, you get two small plastic cups for salsa and a baggie for carrots or peppers or whatever. It is 25 cents for each additional salsa cup, which seems a little steep. But whatever you do, make sure you get the chipotle salsa. It may be the best salsa in history. It is honestly that good. I drove 25 minutes getting there and another 25 minutes getting home in order to try this place out, and there is a taco shop a quarter mile from me that I happily passed. I would make this drive every time.

Rolled tacos and Carne Asada Fries, yum!

Stopped by while in the area had a really solid meal! We shared the rolled tacos and carne asada fries. I enjoyed the type of fries they use. Might sound silly but kind of reminded me of McDonald's fries texture which I like! Came with a good amount of everything; the carne asada, cheese, guac and sour cream. Enjoyed the pickled cucumbers and carrots too. The service was really nice! Made the visit that much better.

This is one of my "go to" local taco shops near me in Vista. Their salsa bar is always fresh and stocked. It's a small place but hey....its a taco shop, a good one at that. For a simple bean and cheese burrito, this place makes one of the best as other spots have horrible dry and pasty beans, not Tolin's

Tolin's Taco Shop in Vista had been on my list ever since I heard they might have the best California burrito around. I had to find out for myself. When I walked in, the woman at the counter greeted me with a big smile and offered me a taste of the aguas frescas before I even ordered--which was a nice surprise. I went for a California burrito with everything and a chicken burrito with everything. Both were packed with flavor, satisfying, and totally lived up to the hype. The salsa bar had tons of options--salsas, pickled carrots and onions, spicy cucumbers, limes--which added a perfect finishing touch to the meal. A few tables were set up inside, and a television in the corner played Spanish-language shows, adding to the laid-back, local vibe. I'll definitely be back.

The owner is aggressive and hostile. The food was basic and bland. Old meat and stale condiments. Owner started making autism comments towards me and partner? Not welcoming atmosphere. Will not be returning nor do I recommend this place.

    Asada /Nachos

The Medium Carne Asada Nachos were $8.99. They were flavorful and fresh. Depending on how hungry you are, they could feed one or two people. There are a few tables inside and they're all clean and intact. I passed multiple other Mexican food restaurants to go to this one and it was definitely worth it. I took this food to go but it would be even better fresh!

Cali burrito - photo doesn't do it justice.

I went there just now after seeing some post about it on Reddit last night. Holy moly, that Cali Burrito may have been the best I've ever had and every salsa was delicious. The chunkier one was not like any other salsa I've had at a taco shop and it was marvelous. Burrito could have been slightly bigger at $14 but hell that flavor and balance was worth it. I'm so disappointed and relived at the same time that this place is a 30min drive for me.

Mmmmmmmm, mmmmmmm, mmmmmmm the California and Super Burritos are don't let the outside appearance fool you this place is definitely worth stopping in and trying a few items on the menu. Very delicious!! I live the salsa bar and the service was great! So glad I found this place!

Very little food, high priced, very small place to sit down and eat. Was expecting more due to review reviews, but was not impressed.

Upon entering we were greeted and asked whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. The inside dining area was pretty busy, lots of people starting off their Sunday morning by dining here. We opted to sit outside because it's a beautiful day and their patio area looked nice and shaded. Once we were seated, the hostess let us know that the waitress would be by soon. We looked around confused because we weren't given menus so I wasn't sure if maybe there was a QR ordering system or if we needed to order at the register since it was our first time. Once the waitress came around to take our drink orders she asked us if we had menus and when she noticed that we didn't, then she gave us them and said she would come back to take our food order. We scanned the menu and I noticed that their specialty is the lamb barbacoa and other lamb items. This is mainly what their menu consists of, so if you're not a fan of this type of meat then this is probably not the place for you. Unfortunately for me - I'm not a fan and I didn't know beforehand that there really isn't much else on the menu if that's not what you want to order. My boyfriend got their menudo and I ordered the chicken flautas. He did not really like his soup. He said that there wasn't much flavor and barely any meat. He had huge pieces of bone/cartilige in the soup that wasn't edible. He also put almost every garnish that was offered on the table into his soup to give it more flavour and that still didn't help. When my flautas arrived I could not believe how sad they looked. 3 super long skinny rolled tacos marketed as "flautas" - barely any sour cream and no guacamole for $10. Basically a fried tortilla salad is what it tasted like. One of the employees brought over their salsas when we were already midway through our meal. We had finished and waited like a good 15-20 mins for them to bring us our check. I'm glad we finally tried it, but we probably wouldn't come back.
