We were excited to try this spot, but unfortunately didn't get the chance this time. We walked in with the intention of ordering and waited at the register while there were only two tables occupied (about 8 guests total), and we were the only people waiting to order. After a few minutes, we were told "one second," which was totally understandable, but after waiting another 5 minutes (~300 seconds ) with multiple opportunities to acknowledge or take our order, we decided to leave. Tacos in this simple little restaurant were good and satisfying. We had the Grilled Mahi Taco, Shrimp Taco, and Fish Taco. I enjoyed the Shrimp Taco. Crispy and not too breaded so I was still able to taste the shrimp. The Grilled Mahi was a little disappointing because it was dry but still tasty. Three kinds of sauces were offered to enhance the flavors of the tacos. The Horchata was refreshing with cinnamon flavor. Will come back again when in the area and will try their other food. My mom, wife, daughter, and I had an amazing taco lunch here! Just sensational! We ordered fish, grilled blackened mahi and shrimp tacos --- 2 for each of us. Served with the tacos was the house-made hot sauce. The woman who served us warned us that the green hot sauce was truly hot. Since I love really spicy food, I had to taste it to believe it and it truly was hot. And hot in all the right ways. The tacos were large, stuffed with shrimp or blackened mahi or fried fish and flavored with pico de gallo, aioli, lettuce and plenty of limes on the plate to add additional flavor. For drinks I had the horchata, which was delicious and the rest of my family had Jarritos sodas. The woman who served us, who I think is one of the owners, was very warm and friendly. It was so nice to be back home in Southern California for the week. While our vacation was quiet and uneventful we happened to find the most humble mom and pop Mexican restaurant here in Oceanside. The owners were so kind and attentive. I ordered a grilled fish taco that was really tender and not over cooked it came with a spicy green sauce that really complemented the fish well. The rice cooked well was really yummy and flavorful and the shrimp was delicious nice size shrimp full of flavor served with saltine crackers. I really can't say enough good things about this business I can see why they got great reviews between the amazingly fresh food and the kindness and love that the owners put into their business i highly recommend the delicious food here. read more

We stopped by this spot in Oceanside and the ceviche was to die for as it was fresh, full of flavor, and definitely not skimpy on the shrimp. Easily one of the best I've had in a while. The horchata was also beautifully presented, served in a large glass with cinnamon, star anise, and a cinnamon stick. You can tell they put care into the details. Unfortunately, the Carne Asada, rice, and beans fell flat. They looked good but were lacking seasoning and depth of flavor. A little more seasoning or salt would go a long way toward matching the quality of everything else. Overall, I'd still recommend giving it a try, def go for the ceviche and drinks, but maybe skip the Carne Asada until they turn up the flavor dial. They appeared to have a pretty robust menu, so I'm sure some of the other options might be better. They have ample free parking in front of the restaurant, it's small, but taken care of. I think this is the best hidden gem in Oceanside for tacos. Sinaloa doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have some of the best Mexican food in north county. I've gone in twice. Another Yelp find! Searching for Tacos on, you guessed it, a Tuesday. While Sinaloa wasn't chosen that day, it was bookmarked based on photos and reviews. The next week I found myself at a neighboring business for shipping something and decided "Today's the day!" Many of the reviews raved about the fish tacos so I had to give one a shot. The other selection was a pollo asada taco . This is a mom and pop place and the lady behind the counter was very friendly with a big smile. After a quick exchange I was waiting for my order and kind of watched the process. I watched the man cooking grab a piece of fish, dredge it and drop it in the fryer. No pre-frozen battered fish sticks here! This is true Mexico style! The cabbage and pico de gallo was fresh as was the guacamole. I was pretty impressed since I spend a LOT of time in Baja and this rivals anything I've had south of the border. The pollo asada was good. The chicken had great flavor, I would have liked to see a little more char or color on it which would have added to the flavor. But overall still a great choice. So glad we stopped by here for lunch! The lady working the register was super friendly and welcoming when we walked in. We ordered 2 fish tacos, one California burrito, and Jamaica to drink. The fish tacos were extremely fresh and crispy and not oily at all. The California burrito was pretty decent and had good quality meat and flavor. I tried my partners mahi taco and it was good- fish was well cooked, and I liked the chipotle sauce they used. The spicy salsa was very good, had a nice creaminess to it but it was SPICY!! Decided to try a New Mexican place that had a little more seafood in the menu. Pretty straight forward takeout place with a diverse menu and simple decor. Had carnitas, carne asada and a calamari taco. All three had a good amount of meat and filling for the price. My wife had surf and turf burrito with a la diabla sauce. Pretty well prepared and people were really friendly and helpful. Main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the food was just too bland for my liking. Had to put a lot of sauce and salt on everything. Not sure I would return as just wasn't my taste. If you like milder flavors this might me style but just not mine. read more
