We had a pretty serious flea issue and ended up needing three treatments. I'm really grateful that the exterminator came back a third time to make sure we weren't getting any more bites -- that extra care really gave us peace of mind. That said, I'd recommend asking all your questions upfront and getting the direct contact info of the person who treats your home. In our case, Joshua treated the house, but I was communicating with Issac, which made it a bit challenging to get answers afterward -- especially when I had questions about the treatment areas. Also, be sure to ask what products they're using and what precautions you need to take afterward. We have a toddler at home, so I was extra cautious and stressed about safety and lingering chemicals. Our new apartment had ants here and there, but after the Dec/Jan rainstorms, the ant population exploded into a full out infestation that stayed even in Feb long after the rain subsided. We wanted to hire an exterminator, but were wary of pesticides because we have a newborn at home. After some research, we found De Leon Pest Control, which says they use environmentally friendly pesticides. Over the phone, Isaac De Leon patiently explained everything to us. Earlier in life, he had spent years working for a national pest control company (Orkin or Terminix if I remember correctly), but eventually decided to venture out on his own. He uses pesticides from Arbico Organics, which specializes in "sustainable pest control alternatives." The treatment involves spraying all the baseboards in the apartment interior and building exterior. Ants traverse the baseboards at some point to come in/out of the apartment. When they do, they carry the pesticide back to their nests, killing the rest of the ants. We decided to give it a try and Isaac set us up with a same-day appointment with his brother Joshua, who was super nice and helpful. Since we opted for same-day, we hadn't yet fully cleared the area around our baseboards. Joshua helped us move things around and was also careful to spray around and away from where we kept our newborn stuff. It's been over two months since the two treatments and 98% of the ants are still gone. We're pleased with the outcome and are glad we decided to take a chance on Isaac and Joshua. read more

I was having really bad flea problems in my apartment and reached out to dozens of pest control companies to come ASAP. De Leon Pest Control was the only company that offered services the next day. They were flexible and accommodating with the hours even though it was veterans Day weekend. My apartment is mainly carpet, and I was experiencing 4-10 flea bites everyday. My cat was on flea medication, but the infestation just got out of hand. De Leon Pest was understanding of the issue and did a thorough job of spraying down every corner and upholstery that could have been affected by the infestation. They assured the flea spray was pet safe. Within four days of the service and vacuuming 2-4x throughout, I stopped getting bites entirely. It has been 2 weeks now, and I am still vacuuming 2x a day, but have not experienced a single flea bite. If you are looking for a local company that can get the job done, I would recommend De Leon Pest Control. My only feedback is for the flea life cycle process to be explained and for next steps to be listed out. I was under the impression that vacuuming 2-4x a week for a week was enough, but after looking on reddit, they recommended continuing this for 4 weeks and to ensure any pets are on flea medication through the process as a secondary death trap. Vacuuming can stimulate any remaining flea eggs to hatch, and when the fleas mature they'd be exposed to the pesticide and die. read more
