    Buffalo wings

Beautiful NEW addition to Julian's food selection. This is a family run restaurant with house made options and a little taste of Julian's famous apple pie to finish off your dining experience! I had a wonderful experience here. The food was delicious. I ordered the chips and salsa/guacamole and the chips were incredible. The buffalo sauce on the wings is unmatched, the chef has absolutely perfected the homemade sauce and it's one to be remembered. The rolled tacos were crisp on the outside and the meat was so tender inside with an array of toppings that were all fresh. The quality shows in every way! As they are a new restaurant, they're working out everything necessary to run a very successful establishment in the heart of Julian! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will absolutely be returning in the future for that hometown, comforting feeling of a home cooked meal that we all know Julian so well for.

I watched the cook hand my salad to the server, and the salad slid along the bottom of the bottom black shelf (in the photo) on the way out. Very gross. The server then brought it right out to me like nothing happened. Had I not seen it, I never would have known my salad got scraped along the bottom of a dusty shelf. There were also flies everywhere. I think this restaurant is highly unsanitary and the shelf salad was probably the tip of the iceberg.

We were staying in the Lodge across the street and decided we wanted a snack, so De Los Altos Restaurant was open the latest and had the best options for dessert. We chose to share a carrot cake and each ordered a hot chocolate abuelita. Everything was tasty.

Kids never get a soda but today was special!

Beatriz was an excellent server. She welcomed us so warmly and answered all our questions. The food was great & my kids loved it. The music in there was my favorite & we look forward to returning often!!

We were not disappointed at all. Upon arriving, there was a musician playing, and they did seat us off to the right so we could not see but could hear still. There is outdoor and indoor seating, but at the time we came it appeared that the outdoor was reserved for an event. We happily sat inside! Having met Jeremy's parents earlier in the day who also recommended his restaurant, and they were just lovely, we had hoped to possibly meet Jeremy too. I wanted to try everything, but we opt on getting a few dishes to share. Our son ordered the filet mignon and they were able to substitute mashed potatoes for fries. Amazing!! The mac & brisket appetizer appeared to be the highlight and specialty and we just had to order it. Every bite was cheeesy and delicious with the brisket very moist. We couldn't go without ordering the Brussels sprouts and it had a twist with ponzu sauce and pineapple. Definitely a different take and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste. Every bite was foodgasmic and I highly recommend!!! I knew coming here that some Yelpers have experienced wavering in quality, so glad we did not experience that at all. As of the date that we came, we understood that the restaurant had been listed for sale, not sure if Jeremy sold it yet or not. I hope not, we plan on coming back this summer!

That said, I do want to clarify that, from what I observed, we were not the last table to be seated. I understand it was a busy Fourth of July, and I know everyone can make mistakes. My disappointment wasn't because of the wait alone--it was because my order was incorrect multiple times, and I was eventually asked again what I had ordered even though it was just biscuits and gravy. By the time my food finally arrived, the experience had already been affected. I don't expect perfection, especially on a busy holiday. I simply shared my honest experience and hope it helps improve service for future guests. -------------------- We ordered our food and my friend received her meal, but my order of biscuits and gravy didn't come out correctly. The server acknowledged the mistake, saying it was her fault and that she would get it fixed right away. Unfortunately, the wrong order was brought out, and the staff had to come back and ask what I had originally ordered. It was a simple order--just biscuits and gravy--so it was frustrating that it was difficult to get right. When the correct food finally arrived, the experience had already been delayed and a bit discouraging. At that point, I was honestly just over it, especially when I was asked if I wanted a box, as if we were finished. Overall, the food was fine once it arrived, but the service experience that day was disorganized and left a negative impression.

It was easier to seat a party of two than a larger group. But people aren't there to lounge so tables seemed to turn over timely. Not gonna lie, it was hard seeing people who ordered after get their food first. But again, it was packed on a weekend. Nothing fancy going on here, burgers, sandwiches - the usual. I did enjoy the phosphate sodas that you can choose the flavor of. Orange and vanilla was pretty tasty! The California BLT comes with avocado and cream cheese. Putting the cream cheese on the side worked, I tried it and ate it with most of my sandwich. Don't think I needed it it every bite though. Coleslaw was really good! Loved the old toys they have displayed, even picked up some jax for my mom. That's her childhood claim to fame. The train that goes around up-top is fun too! Lots of historical items and pictures. It's an old place that's holding it down. Glad I checked it out.

We stumbled in here by accident because the bbq beer place nextdoor was busy and we were in a hurry and said this Rong-place makes ribs. What a mistake, and they don't even serve beer. We spent $60 on garbage food. The oven-cooked fall-of-the-bones pork ribs were sad, gray, tasteless, and slathered with their "Bumsteer" sauce - a sad attempt to make homemade bbq sauce out of cheap ketchup and vinegar. The sides included a dried out cornbread muffin, sour creamy coleslaw, and homemade baked beans that were basically canned beans in ketchup. Basically inedible. I've seen enough Gordon Ramsey to know this restaurant does not have an actual cook with any culinary experience whatsoever. They should be ashamed selling such garbage (especially with no beer to try to wash it down). I hate wasting $ on garbage. Do yourself a favor and learn from our sad lesson. Bumsteer sauce? Sounds gross, and it is. Also, bumsteer means bad advice

The rumors are true. Don't eat here…read more It's true that you're quickly seated, but there will be a vacuum cleaner hanging out in the corner of the dining area. And the tables are a little sticky. All forgivable grievances really if the food was mid to okay tasting, but it wasn't, so yikes. I ordered the French dip sandwich ($16.95 I think). The sandwich comes with sliced smoked tri-tip topped with a slice of cheese + grilled onions on a toasted French roll. It's served with a side of fries and a cup of au jus. Initially, it looked promising, however, I heavily suspect that sliced tri-tip was just deli meat in disguise. Moreover, the au jus was incredibly salty. It. Was. So. Salty. Without the au jus, the sandwich was just a sandwich and not a French dip. Overall, the kitchen needs to exercise more qual control. Both orders of fries for the table were severely undercooked. And the buffalo burger was burnt. There is litany of things that Rongbranch could do better, so come at your own risk. Strategically eat here if you need a bathroom break or a break from the crowds. However I advise against making Rongbranch your dining destination while visiting Julian.

My husband and I were returning from a hiking weekend with our two doggies when we searched for a pet-friendly place to have lunch. Google suggested Farmhouse 78, and we are so glad it did. At first, I didn't notice the outdoor patio, so I went inside to ask. From the moment I walked through the door, every employee was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made me feel valued as a customer and even offered to let us dine inside with our dogs. Out of respect for other guests, we chose to sit outside on their lovely patio. Everything about this place was wonderful--the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the service, and how quickly our food arrived. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the pork sandwich, and I ordered the cheeseburger with French fries. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and homemade. When I went inside to pay, I had the pleasure of meeting Cyndie at the register. I told her how impressed we were with our experience, and she was just as warm and friendly as everyone else we encountered. If you're visiting Santa Ysabel, do yourself a favor and stop by Farmhouse 78. Great food, wonderful people, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

I even brought friends who had never been here before, thinking it could become one of our regular stops when we're out hitting the trails. Instead, it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth... and not just from the food. Waitress: Where do I even start. She claimed she was hard of hearing--but her attitude spoke loud and clear. Tossing menus on the table, aggressively slamming salsa down, and getting snarky over being off because our party count was off by one person. Seriously? It took two seconds to adjust the table, but apparently that was just too much. Yes, she technically did her job... but with such a cold, unwelcoming, and rigid attitude that it made the whole experience uncomfortable. What really stood out? We were there first and ready to order, yet she chose to take care of every smaller table that came in after us. No communication, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. Just ignored. Basic courtesy clearly isn't part of the service here. And trust me--I used to be a waitress. I handled large parties all the time and actually communicated with my tables. It's not that hard. Honestly, if gratuity hadn't already been forced onto the bill, she would've gotten $0. The only pleasant person we encountered was the busser--quick, friendly, and actually seemed like he wanted to be there. Maybe swap their roles, because he outperformed her by a mile. Food: Let's talk about the food... if that's what we're calling it. Everything came out cold. Not "warm-ish," not "could be hotter"... just straight up cold. It felt like our plates were sitting under a heat lamp for way too long before making it to the table. One "white" friend asked to have her meal fixed--fine, no problem. But when another "Hispanic" friend asked the same thing? Suddenly there was attitude, menu slamming, and mumbling under her breath. So... what exactly was the difference? Why the inconsistency and hostility? If the kitchen is that backed up, maybe management should step in and help instead of letting food die in the window. Just a thought. Final Thoughts: This place had potential... but that waitress single-handedly ruined it. We'll be taking our group (and our money) elsewhere--Dudley's Bakery is looking like a much better option moving forward. I usually bring large groups out here, so this isn't a small loss. Unfortunately, if this is the level of service they're okay with, this place isn't going to improve anytime soon. At this point, it's less "Farmhouse charm" and more "junky barn energy."
