I never had a conch fritter before but it pretty much was what I expected. Little bits of clam like chewy conch. Seemed to have a slight curry flavor inside as well. I couldn't pinpoint the taste. It was good. I can say I've now had a conch fritter. No need to have again at that price point. I'd say if you're a tourist stop in and try once. I believe they likely have the best around but steep price.

We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and our food took roughly 30 minutes to come out, but it was absolutely worth the wait. Everything is made to order, and it shows. While waiting, my son and I wandered around checking out the plants and noticed the many awards Chef Clive has earned over the years for his incredible food. I'm typically averse to spicy food, but for this place, it was completely worth it. I ordered the island salad with Jamaican jerk chicken added, while others in our group had the hot tuna tacos and mahi tacos. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and had just the right touch of spice. So glad I found this place on Yelp. If you're in the mood for Caribbean island food in Key West, this is the spot.

We got one order of the Cayo fish tacos to share. Each order comes with two tacos. We chose a bench in the shade on the patio where some chickens were wandering around picking up bits of food dropped by the patrons. It was fun to watch them run in a group when one spotted something had fallen. Our tacos were ready quickly and after the first bite we immediately regretted not getting a table because they are a bit messy with all the delicious toppings. Oh well! I persevered and used a napkin to soak up the juice and the chickens took care of of the rest. I will never miss an opportunity to visit Garbo's when in Key West.
