Yummy Crème Brûlée Matcha Latte!! I got two Matcha Lattes and one Crème Brûlée Matcha Latte. The Matcha Lattes had a beautiful top with the half matcha powder which I thought was nice looking. The drink itself was a good, it wasn't too bitter and too sweet. It was right in the middle, and I thought it was so good! The Crème Brûlée Matcha Latte was so good! It's hard to find a Crème Brûlée Matcha Latte unless you go to Westminster / Garden Grove so I was super excited to find it in Torrance. The drink was great, the Crème Brûlée on top added a creamy cheesy taste to the matcha latte, and it was good! The matcha latte still holds that not too bitter or too sweet ratio which was great as well! The place was pretty hard to find, you can't find it on regular Apple Maps. I was only able to find it through someone who had already been there. The place is near one of the entrances / exits, and it's near the escalators and elevators. The place is also very easy to miss, it blends in with the walls and everything. There's seating and tables next to the place which is nice. There's also a self ordering kiosk on the counter. The employee was helpful and nice! He gave us the drinks without the lids, and he directed us to where the lids, straws, and napkins were. I would come here again! Located in the del amo mall near macys is this tucked away matcha shop. I got the straberry matcha duo. The matcha quality is ceremonial grade and has a nice creamy note. They use free strawberries in the puree and you get some strawberry pieces as you drink. The cream top was a bit thick and I didn't taste the matcha flavor as much. I stopped by on a weekday and didn't realize that all they had was matcha. After looking at their menu, I decided to get their pistachio matcha. I couldn't get the sweetness level less than 100% because it meant that there wouldn't be as much matcha in it. All of their matcha drinks are premade so the cashier made my drink pretty fast. The pistachio drink tasted like ground up pistachios but it was pretty sweet and it overpowered the matcha. At over $7 its probably worth going somewhere else. The way this counter has changed names makes my head spin. I loved The Alley and can't even remember what tea place was before The Alley. I was so surprised to find that it is now De Matcha. I guess this is only the second store with one being in Berkeley. The girl behind the counter told me the owner is the same as the one for The Alley that had been there previously but they wanted to switch it up and serve matchas. I passed by right after it opened on a weekday so I was the first customer. I wanted to try the banana matcha double as I continue with my love for banana cream drinks. Order on the kiosk pad and the drink was made immediately I appreciate the matcha not being too strong. The banana flavor worked well with the matcha and the cookie sprinkles was a nice touch. This is a counter inside the Del Amo mall next to Lucille's BBQ. You order at the kiosk and service is pretty quick. There is no seating--it's just a grab and go type place. No food options, just drinks. They have a various number of matcha drinks to choose from and different types of milk (oat, almond, etc). They supposedly use ceremonial grade Uji matcha. Unfortunately, you can not adjust the sweetness level on the drinks. I got the strawberry matcha with oat milk based on the worker's recommendation. It was just okayyy, too sweet and creamy/heavy for my personal taste. I probably wouldn't come back unless I'm really craving matcha while at the mall. This spot is tucked into a corner of del amo and has so many matcha options! There's an iPad to order and even with only one worker we got our drinks pretty fast. Both the pistachio and Ube matchas we tried had a good sweetness with the foam top but still a prominent matcha taste. The one thing is this place felt pretty pricey. The matchas were $7.95 + for the oat milk. I ended up paying about $17 for two matchas before tip which felt a little insane. I also think it's interesting that the iPad asked for a tip when the workers don't take orders at all, greet you, or interact at all. read more

I had the pleasure of trying out this new matcha spot in Torrance, CA at the Del Amo mall. It's right across Lucille's BBQ. It's a small grab-and-go shop without seating; however, it is Del Amo. You can find really nice areas at the mall to sit and enjoy your drinks. We enjoyed ours right outside the doors and in the warmth of the sun. I love that the ingredients are fairly simple. Their banana matcha duo is made with real bananas. From what I saw, everything is clean and organized. Most importantly, the taste wasn't grainy or earthy. They don't adjust sweetness, which I was a little hesitant about, but after tasting all 4 drinks, it wasn't too sweet at all. To give you perspective, I typically order my boba drinks with 0 sugar. At most, the lowest amount of sugar possible. Their shop doesn't sell boba or other toppings that you may be used to at traditional tea shops in California. It was a very enjoyable experience and a lovely sweet treat. Melinda provided a very positive energy. She was telling me all about their drinks. Drinks came out at a decent time. I'm a little of a matcha snob - I also make my own at home - and one easy way to tell the quality of matcha is by the color. I found this place via Instagram and was persuaded by vibrant green drinks but when I got mine (the matcha duo) the green was more of a dull-green. Underwhelming. Very sweet. Not whisked on site (which is fine, a lot of great matcha places now pre-make the matcha), but I just think that there are much better options out there (plus the market is so saturated now that anyone can call their matcha "ceremonial") A good to know is that this is basically a to-go counter. Came by on a Tuesday afternoon so virtually no wait. It's by the entrance near Lucille's so you would have to walk into the mall in order to find a place to sit. Took it to go but would be nice to sip on as you walk around. There's a self order kiosk right in front. Was curious about quite a few flavors but went for the mango matcha since it tends to always win me over and it was one of their popular items. Obviously looks fantastic with a layer of chunky mango puree, matcha, and matcha foam, but since it was $8 I was a bit skeptical the taste would match up. Fortunately for me it really hit the spot with my taste preferences! The matcha was strong but not grassy. Most matcha flavor comes from the drink, but the matcha foam on top definitely contributes. The foam also gives the drink a lot of richness, so overall it tasted super creamy and decadent. The mango puree and the foam are sweet, but I think once you stir it altogether the sweetness is decently balanced by the drink. Overall the drink does taste sweet though (6/10), so if you're a person that prefers your drinks unsweetened I think it will be too much for your liking. For me it verges on being heavy but I like dessert so the sweetness and the richness were a nice indulgence. Not a matcha latte to wake up to since it's sweet and rich, but great as a dessert matcha, e.g. a 3PM pick me up. I think from the branding and presentation that is more of the intention. Although pricey, the taste to me was nearly worth it ($8 is still steep), especially since recently I think my matcha drinks haven't been as tasty (albeit they were far more plain and suited for the morning). I would give it 4.5/5 stars as it exceeded my taste expectations but have to take price into account. Rounded up to 5 because I don't feel strongly enough to knock a star off. read more

Their matcha is high quality but it's too sweet for my liking. I like my matcha stronger tasting/bitter, with subtle sweetness.
