It seems like the café changed the recipe for their First Flight matcha, as it's a lot stronger and thicker than what I had before. Now, it's one of the top matcha einspänners I enjoy! Coffee itself was good and I enjoyed what I ordered. Unfortunately, the service left a pretty bad impression. The owner came across as rude and dismissive when we interacted, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. The shop itself has a nice atmosphere and I can see why people enjoy coming here, but friendly service goes a long way, especially at a small coffee shop. Hopefully my experience was just an off day because the coffee was definitely solid. read more

2.5 stars $7.25 for their French toast latte... and it didn't even taste like French toast! I thought this was at least going to taste like a French toast latte if not have some cinnamon toast crunch on top or something. It was very bitter and left a horrible after taste in my mouth. The cold foam was tasty but it didn't blend with the drink at all so it's kind of moot and no matter how rigorously I stirred it did not blend. The coffee and bottom really had no flavor other than bitter. Not sure if this is a fluke or this place just isn't for me. I don't think I can condone the price anyways but then for it to not taste good was a pretty big letdown. read more

This was my favorite coffee shop in Torrance until today. Unfortunately, our experience with the owner was extremely disappointing. We order the Spanish latte here all the time, and it has always come with a cream top without us having to ask for it. Today, when our drinks came without it, we politely asked if we could get the cream top. The owner immediately responded with an attitude and told us that the Spanish latte doesn't come with it. We explained that we order it all the time and have always received it with the cream top without asking. Instead of simply clearing up the misunderstanding, she insisted that we "probably asked for it" before. I'm an adult, I know what I ordered and whether or not I asked for something. The way she spoke to us was unnecessarily rude and dismissive over something so minor. It's especially disappointing because we've been regular customers and genuinely liked this place. Your employees have always been great, but the owner's attitude today was incredibly unprofessional. If this is how you're going to treat your regular customers, you're better off letting your employees run the shop. read more

Came here with my daughter & husband to try their matcha. Matcha is sooo good and so creamy. We ordered the first flight matcha -- basically a double matcha drink. Matcha taste is earthy, strong but still kinda sweet. We'll be coming back to try their other drinks. Parking isn't bad, lots of parking when we went and we went on a Sunday late afternoon. Delicious cold brew with vanilla cold foam! It's called First Flight Cold Brew. The cold foam is nice and thick. Not super sweet like Starbucks, it's perfect The Honey Cinnamon Latte is nice, but the First Flight Cold Brew is the way to go. It's located in a nondescript local mini mall with free parking. Learning they use a La Marzocco gave me hope & I was not disappointed, thankfully. It's located in a small plaza next to a salon, a bank & a T-Mobile, so parking free but may be limited. There are a few indoor (comfortable) & outdoor seating with the airport theme, modern & clean (please see photos). I ordered a honey cinnamon latte with oat milk & it was crafted in a decent wait time. It was perfectly balanced, "cinnamoney" sweet but not cloyingly. I am a sucker for Strawberry Matcha and they make a decent one here. Friendly staff. Service was great. There's this place that I love getting Passion Fruit Matcha Tonic. I'm literally obsessed; it's so good, so when I saw it on their Summer Seasonal Menu, I thought I would order it. I didn't like it as much as I do at the other place. Delish! I got the Jasmine matcha cloud and the Jasmine milk tea was very floral/strong which I love. Balanced with the thiccc matcha cold foam. A perfect afternoon drink. Staff are very friendly! It can get pretty busy but I feel like the staff have a good system down and I didn't have to wait too long for my drink. Nice and clean ambiance. It's a narrow skinny cafe, but there's some more seating at the very back of the cafe. Great WiFi, only a few WiFi spots. A true hidden gem in the South Bay. First flight coffee is always a delight to get my first drink of the day. The morning staff is always friendly. I akin it to a flight crew and how epic their exceptional service really is. I'm not a big fan of coffee but their matchas and teas make my mornings, and the day is smooth flying. This is a small hidden coffee spot that can be easily missed. Found this place via google- wanted some caffeine for the road and wanted to try a new spot. Had their strawberry matcha at 50% sweetness and had to say it was delicious! Love the quality of the matcha powder they used. It was smooth to drink! Will def come back! Originally, I wanted to stop by for a matcha latte but that was until I saw the summer menu! Jasmine and matcha are two of my favorite flavors so I had to order the Jasmine Matcha Cloud. This coffee shop is super cute and modern, it's very kitsch with all the airport designed things inside. We were greeted when we came in and they have a loyalty program , which I think is great. I had the first flight matcha and it was excellent perfectly balanced and creamy and the right amount of sweetness. My companions had a Spanish latte and French toast latte and both report them as being excellent Overall vibe is super chill and they had little bursts of long lines while we were there which was good to see. Excellent coffee and service! I stopped here at 830 during the week and was a bit nervous with the line. However they were fast in getting orders placed and even faster with getting my coffee. By the time I pulled my phone out, my coffee was ready. The barista was fast and efficient clearly hitting his flow! S tier matcha!!! Might I say it is one of my top three matcha spots? I got the First Flight matcha, which is their version of a double matcha. It was so rich and the perfect sweetness for me. I mean, look at the color of that matcha. BEAUTIFUL. The size of the cup is good for the price too, and I savored each and every sip. I would also like to note that it's $1 for alternative milk. Service is good, and there is some seating in the front of the cafe and a small lounge/couch area in the back of the cafe by the restroom. There is a parking lot in front of the cafe with ample parking. They also sell some really cute merch that I was tempted to purchase. absolutely one of the best i've had. i'm not sure if it's in their sweetener or it's their matcha but there is a hint of some faint fruitiness that gives the matcha unique yet refreshing flavor. it's a little papaya-like essence but i like it. it doesn't take away from the matcha which is so strong, and deep. definitely no skimping on the matcha. extra creamy and just perfect. the coconut matcha is probably the best i've had with the best balance of matcha and coconut. super refreshing. only downside is limited parking but worth it. read more

We had to run back inside and ask if the yuzu tonic had dairy because of how creamy the matcha looked. First flight matcha is really good. The matcha flavor is super strong and with a quality that speaks for itself. The cream on top of the drink I got was sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Other people I went with ordered the hot matcha latte and the yuzu tonic. They very much enjoyed their drinks! We will definitely be back. I've driven by here several times and finally stopped by on a weekend to give them a try. I got their First Flight Matcha with their matcha foam. I asked for it less sweet and paired with the foam on top, it had a nice balance of bitter/sweet to it. I think I still prefer Yeem's matcha, but this is a great alternative if you're in the area and aren't planning to go into Gardena. Parking can be difficult as spaces are limited and the actual space is pretty tight. There are some chairs inside, but I think this is more of a grab and go place. read more

Halfway through the day and I really needed a caffeine kick just small case of the Sunday Blues. I stopped by right before closing and was assisted immediately. I ordered the French Toast Latte, which comes topped with a delicious cold foam. You can get it hot or iced; I went with iced and swapped the whole milk for oat milk. The cold foam is honestly the best part it's incredibly creamy and almost tastes like cheesecake! The shop has seating in both the front and back, making it a perfect spot for remote work. Overall the flavors are not very strong. Wish it had more strawberry and matcha taste. If you don't like strong flavors or overly sweet drinks then you might like this. Blueberry muffin wasn't too sweet but had few blueberries. Danish was okay. Because it's mixed into the bread, you can't really taste the spinach or feta that much. Located off the corner of Crenshaw Bl and Sepulveda Bl in Torrance in the little strip mall. Parking is shared with the other businesses in that little strip area so it can get filled up. This place has changed its' name many times I been here when it was Ding Tea then they changed to Lotus which I never tried and now it's First Flight Coffee. The inside hasn't changed as far as layout upon entering is the counter to place your order along the wall are some tables and seating and as you walk down the hallway to the back there are more seating basically a couple tables and a couch. I got the strawberry matcha latte it was not bad. The two gals working were friendly and service was pretty fast . There a lil bit of a line once I walked in, but not bad at all. I got the Yuzu Tonic Matcha and my husband got the Yuzu Tonic Espresso. We both liked the Matcha slightly more! Both are nice summer drinks - the bubbles and the citrus makes this very refreshing and easy to drink. It is a bit on the sweeter side, and I would ask about adjusting sweetness level if possible. This is my second time here and it does not disappoint! I got the Honey Cinnamon Latte with Oat Milk. The rich bold flavor of the coffee was complimented by the zest of the Cinnamon. The honey added a touch of sweetness without being over powering and the Oat milk gave it a slight nuttiness. I really enjoy the coffee here. I do wish they had a larger size because once I finish I want another sip. I also got a Strawberry Matcha Latte. So grateful for a woman owned, high quality coffee shop opening so close to home. I love that they now offer a flight for their signature drinks! I highly recommend getting a flight if you plan on staying for a bit. Was surprised how tasty the peaches n' cream was! Although, if I were to get it again as a full size, I would adjust the sweetness to about 30%. You can't go wrong with their first flight matcha which is their double matcha. Solid matcha. Location/Parking: the parking lot is pretty small and narrow. The parking lot could be easy to miss. Service: servers were smiley and cheerful. The drinks come out fast since most of their bases are pre-made. Vibes: not a lot of seating, so it is more of a grab-and-go kind of spot. There are some tables and chairs in the front and a few more in the back where you can find people studying/working. Drink: I've tried the sparkling Yuzu Ade and the First Flight Matcha, and would definitely say that the First Flight Matcha is the better of the two. The Yuzu Ade was just way too bitter for my liking; I took a few sips and couldn't drink any more. The matcha on the other hand, was really good! I drank it up so quickly and I enjoyed the matcha cream top. It wasn't too overpowering of a matcha flavor, with just the right amount of sweetness. I visited First Flight, and my first thought was oof parking is tight! Thankfully, a spot opened up. First Flight definitely has heavy foot traffic, and many frequent this cafe. I ordered an Iced Latte, and it was out within 5 minutes. While the area is fairly relaxing to sit in, the latte was a bit on the bitter / acidic side and not too enjoyable. Came by to try a new matcha spot and glad to say I found my new favorite!! We got the coconut matcha and the earl grey matcha! The Earl Grey matcha blended the flavors so perfectly -- smooth, balanced, and still surprisingly robust. And the coconut matcha had this creamy, almost fluffy texture, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet like other places. Just clean, smooth flavor... I wanna come back soon to try the other flavors/drinks along with some baked goodies they had We came on a slow day so our drinks came out quick.
