My favorite go to place for MATCHA EINSPANNER. They use ceremonial grade matcha and you can taste it. The topping is delicious. The quality and time and effort put into the drinks is there. The pastries are decent too. They are able to warm them. Theyre usually not busy when I come so they tend to make the drinks fast. There's some tables you can hang out and work too as there is also wifi. Not a ton of sitting room but very good vibes. Parking can be tight as there's only a tiny lot but near a dry cleaners, subway and a couple other shops.
I was in the area and was looking for a place to study/work. This popped up, looked at their menu, and got intrigued with their Mango Sticky Matcha and croissants. I got there close to 6pm and everyone was so nice. The lady that took my order was friendly and welcoming. I got their Mango Sticky Matcha. It was pretty interesting. Loved that it has a rich matcha flavor and mango sticky flavor didn't overpower the drink. If anything, it complimented well with the matcha. I love it and would absolutely order it again. Unfortunately, they didn't have any pastries left other than a couple bagels. I wanted to try their croissants but maybe next time when I'm in the area again. The place is super clean and organized. They have a wifi, an outlet, a couple tables for single or multiple customers as well as comfy couches. The restroom was also clean and smells great. Highly recommend this place. Not only was I able to complete so many tasks but was also able to just relax. Loved the vibe here!
I found a new to me boba spot, and I'm already looking forward to coming back! One thing that immediately caught my attention was that they offer grass jelly as a topping, one of my favorites. I ordered their summer special, the HK Matcha Latte, made with matcha, milk, brown sugar, and of course grass jelly. It was smooth, refreshing, and the perfect drink for a warm day. My husband customized his own fruit-infused tea with lychee jelly and salted cold foam, and he really enjoyed his combination as well. The shop has a handful of small tables and seats, and we got to relax and enjoy our drinks. Keep in mind that the tables are on the smaller side. If you're planning to work or study there, you'll probably only have enough room for a laptop and not much else. Overall, it's a great addition to our boba rotation.
I stopped by here today to get a couple drinks! Small parking lot out front. Pretty deep space inside, they have tables inside. They have soooo many delicious drinks on their menu, both espresso and matcha drinks. Lots of unique and fun flavors. They have pastries too but by the time I came in the afternoon there wasn't much left. I got the mango sticky rice matcha for my sister with the cream top, and I got the earl grey matcha for myself with almond milk. I stole a sip of her drink and it was incredible!! Not overly sweet either. My drink was great too, though the earl grey was subtle, I could hardly taste the flavor of it. But it was still a tasty and good quality matcha! Next time I'll get the mango for myself or try their peach matcha - sounds so good!!
just a side note the parking is very limited - I usually walk over after parking in the residential area closeby. Mango Sticky rice Matcha: this was so delicious, perfect amount of sweet to balance out the earthy matcha Blueberry matcha: in my opinion, very fruit-blueberry instead of artificial - so not as sweet as I was expecting. still good, but I preferred the mango one over this one. galaxy lemonade: my mom ordered this one, ahe just wanted something refreshing to drink since it was 3pm, but this was very.. tart. I think she'll look for the strawberry lemonade for next time - but it was a very pretty drink! I don't live in Torrance anymore but I'll return when I'm back in town :)
Went here for a quick morning coffee! Banana coffee and peach matcha both made perfectly as half sweet. Would recommend. Big open space, seems like would be good for studying but might fill quick. Was plenty of seating this morning.
Needed a caffeine buzz and they had Viet Coffee, yum! An occasional treat since I can't have all that sodium but definitely worth trying. Also, I love this location at this strip mall. The place is larger and has a nice ambiance than it appears from the outside. Definitely check it out!
If you're looking for Vietnamese style coffee with great flavor in the South Bay then look no further! I ordered two signature Vietnamese iced coffees and they were delicious ! Order came out pretty quick and the staff seemed friendly. Overall space itself is very nice and there is plenty of seating so you can lounge about and enjoy your beverage. Parking can be a bit challenging but I was able to find a spot next to the subway . Would recommend if you're in the area for sure !
LOVE AMAI!!!!!! I've been a few times over the last couple months. Such a great chill coffee shop to hangout. The matcha is amazing, and they have a lot of variations and specials for their drinks. There's a small parking lot out front, so just be mindful of that! Service was great, and they're pretty quick about it. This is a great coffee shop and I'll definitely be back more!
Solid spot in Torrance with ample free parking in its strip mall. Their Vietnamese coffee is on par with Da Vien, which is a compliment! They also have a lot of non Vietnamese coffees in which their Banana Turón is a solid choice as well. They also sell non caffeine drinks (milk based) for the kiddos, and pastries as well.
Came here for the first time, it was cute inside and small but very nice. Decided to try the banana latte, hands down very good. I actually loved it a lot. Barista was nice and I would definitely go back again.
I heard this spot has a nice selection of seasonal and classic items. Lots of customers on a weekend afternoon. Bad experience tho-The worker put too much ice in my "less ice" drink, Jasmine oat milk with coconut jelly. It felt like 40% ice, so I requested them to remove some of the ice cubes. When they did, they took the whole drink back, took off the plastic lid with the straw and put it ON THE COUNTER. Not even on top of a napkin, but the surface where many hands and cups and blenders touch everyday. And then they proceeded to put the same straw BACK into the drink. It would have been better if they'd told me to hold onto the cap/straw. That's pretty unhygienic. Small parking lot, designed for quick pick ups.
Cute little coffee shop in a random strip mall in Torrance. The vibe is airy, calm, and inviting with modern and clean furniture. A great place to work or study (but bring a laptop riser as the tables are quite low). I got the Vietnamese coffee lightly sweetened and it was delicious! Not as heavy as some others but still creamy and satisfying. The salt on the foam helps balance out the condensed milk nicely. The employees are kind and knowledgeable.

We got the earl grey matcha and the seasonal princess peach matcha, both very delicious! Creamy, refreshing, and the perfect sweetness, these drinks individually balanced their earl grey/peach and matcha flavors to perfection. Staff was friendly, place was a little messy but to be expected due to the amount of business. Seating was not difficult to find, and the parking lot was full so we parked on a nearby residential street. Side note: they had a bunch of gems that we could stick onto the cups, not sure if this is an everyday or seasonal offering but it was such a thoughtful touch! read more
Another shop with flavor options. I'm really one to enjoy flavorful fancy drinks but dang a drink here can cost up to $8. Most recently I got the mango sticky matcha and it's good marine need more of their mango sticky rice because once mixed the flavor is muted. I tried the turon and it's just alright. Felt like it didn't showcase the turon flavor. The Amari signature is a classic you can't go wrong and the Vietnamese coffees. They have additions you can add such as boba and I want to say I got it before and the texture was good but I may have to try again. read more

This is the second location I have visited and wow, what a disappointment. The barista needs to work on her customer service. She stood there, didn't greet or say hello. Also, she stood with her arms crossed and a serious look until we ordered. The location is more spacious and their coffee/matcha is delicious but their customer service was crap. My friends and I had a great experience grabbing some drinks to-go from this coffee shop! Loved seeing all the different Asian-inspired items here. I had their Vietnamese House Coffee and it was good and strong. I liked the nutty espresso flavor and the drink was perfectly sweet for me. I also liked the light cream top. My friends got the coco coffee and the pandan matcha and they were good, but just okay to me. The interior is nice and clean with a good amount of tables and chairs. There's even WiFi and outlets making this a suitable place to get work done. There's also a bathroom and some parking in the plaza where the coffee shop is located at. I would definitely come back here! read more

Stopped by Amai and tried their signature milk tea with the black tea base. It was fragrant and really well-balanced. I went with 50% sweetness and it was perfect for me. The drink wasn't overly thick, so I'm pretty sure they use real milk instead of non‑dairy creamer. The boba was QQ with just the right amount of chewiness. Service was friendly and there is ample seating space inside. read more
i visited many years ago and did find the drinks way too sweet but this most recent visit was pretty good - prob don't need to adjust sweetness moving forward anymore. i tried the mango sticky matcha and was very satisfied with the taste. it's not like a typical mango matcha which was appreciated - much more balance between the matcha and the mango as opposed to some places with VERY thick and overpowering mango syrup. my only downside this visit was that the price for the drink was actually more expensive than shown. it was $8 although the menu says $7 so that threw me off a bit and made me enjoy the drink just a little less. read more
Amai, I'm pretty sure I mispronounced your name, don't take it personal. Stopped by 30mins before closing and upon walking in, the two ladies at the coffee bar only stared at me walking inside. Honestly, made me feel uncomfy. There was no greeting I was the one to ask the cashier how she doing lol I ordered the iced Amai signature latte .... Yikes. It was nothing that I was expecting. It was average at best. I did not think it was a good coffee at all. Had an underlying bitter taste to it. It was overly milky as well. The hot mocha was actually pretty good. I could see myself ordering that. It's a cute coffee shop. I think they need to work on their customer service. They have parking within the plaza. There's plenty of other coffee shops in Torrance that I would rather stop by than this one. read more

Overall (8/10) - The cafe has a cute atmosphere to sit and hang out with friends, work, and read. It is a cute space. The Matcha latte here is not what one would consider a Matcha latte with a strong Matcha flavor. The service was nice, and the staff members were friendly. There was decent parking at the plaza where the cafe shop was tucked away at. Drinks - I got a Matcha Einspanner, which could have a stronger Matcha flavor. I could have asked for more Matcha next time it is made. Overall, the drink was decent and would be better with some slight modifications. Overall - I would come try some more drinks in the future and see if the other drinks would compare to this one. read more

This is one of a few places to serve mango sticky rice matcha, a new popular drink trend. They combine ceremonial matcha with mango puree. I asked for almond milk substitute but would've liked coconut instead (not an option). Very tasty Parking may be challenging but worth the drive. read more

Stopped by Amai Tea & Cafe after getting my eyebrows done next door--super convenient if you're already in the plaza and need a quick pick-me-up. Good for: Grab-and-go drinks Casual catch-ups with a friend A quick break between errands or appointments What they're known for: While I went with a milk tea since it was later in the evening, Amai often gets buzz for their coffee and matcha drinks, which seem to be popular with regulars and online orders. Matcha-forward cafés have been trending lately, and this feels like a spot that leans into that clean, modern café lane--definitely one to revisit earlier in the day. Initially I was hesitant because "Amai" means "sweet" in Japanese but they were totally accommodating with the sugar levels. I got their House Matcha with oat milk & no sugar (it was really thick & rich with matcha) & my hubby got the Strawberry Matcha which he said was super delish. The staff was super friendly. I def want to return to try some more of their teas. The price was a bit steep but I feel it's reflective of the quality of matcha they're serving--from the Fukuoka region of Japan. read more

Did we just become best friends? YEP! Seriously though, this place is fighting for my favorite boba spot now. My first question coming in with my kid was whether they had any caffeine-free drinks. Luckily there are two sections of the menu full of options for that: Refreshers (think: lemonade/fruity juice) and Milky Way (think: dairy or dairy substitute). My kid is happy to have one or two options at most tea places, so in her eyes this is already the best. This time she tried the Strawberry Milky Way (substituted almond milk for a dairy-free alternative) which she LOVED. The only con is that we thought we would see more cheese foam on it--maybe it was mixed in already--but the cheese foam wasn't visible as a top layer like it normally is. Despite that though I would still give it five stars. As for flavors the kid can have, there is Cookies n Cream and so many others that we want to try next time. From the start, there was one flavor that caught my eye and that is Strawberry Matcha. I would say the quality here is better compared to other places--the menu also says that the matcha is ceremonial grade and you can definitely tell by the flavor. The strawberry is blended in well, and the thankfully we were able to have boba added too. I also substituted for almond milk. I would absolutely recommend this flavor and would get it again. Finally the third flavor we tried today was the Turon Banana, which is named after a Filipino dessert. Because of this we were wondering if this is Filipino owned or inspired. If you are looking for a tasty boost of caffeine, this one is it! These drinks today scored a 3 out of 3. Service was quick and friendly, and it was nice to see another staff members on top of cleanliness too. Plenty of seating available which is a huge plus especially for a boba shop. Extra points for great ambiance and a cute instagrammable aesthetic. Will add a photo and definitely planning on visiting again. read more

Sunset (peach & strawberry green tea, strawberry bits) $5.95 Galaxy Lemonade (strawberry lemonade, butterfly pea tea, strawberry bits + crystal boba) $6.50 Loyalty Program: Originally on Local by Toast app, they transitioned to the Cash app. Not sure when the transition happened, but it didn't carry forward my Local by Toast points or credit/log my Cash stars for my recent purchase. I was close to a reward from the old app & might have earned a reward in the new app if you include the old points. This doesn't inspire loyalty; however, Amai is convenient due to its proximity to my daughter's HS, but their boba options are not on par with our preferred shops. I visited Amai Tea & Cafe a couple of years ago, & thought this was a cute cafe to hang out. I was curious about its name, & discovered amai (甘い) means "sweet" in Japanese. Upon entering, the front of the shop is bright with large windows allowing lots of sunlight, but the back is more dark with cement gray colored walls. There's an egg-shaped hammock next to a bone-colored couch, & small tables spread out in the middle & back of the boba shop with several small round tables & chairs; IG angel wings & halo for a memorable visit & social posting. Before that, there was a Amai logo pastel pink wall; this was before my time & saw the wall mural posted by another reviewer. Since then, there's been a few interior changes, with the most recent update of a dark green couch, removal of the angel wings & halo back wall, & lightened wall, with vertical bookshelf for your reading pleasure. The space & flow isn't balanced, either too open (by the entrance) or cluttered (near the back/sitting area) by the restrooms. I've only tried a couple of their drinks: 6 P.M. Sunset & Galaxy Lemonade. I prefer the former over the latter due to the balance inconsistency of the strawberry lemonade & butterfly pea tea. The peach & strawberry green tea flavor isn't very present, but you can taste the fruity notes when drinking with the strawberry bits. Service has been a hit or miss... sometimes you're greeted/welcomed, other times you're not; orders can be quickly made, & other times it's slow as molasses even when it's only a couple of customers ahead. The drinks execution has also been iffy... there's wayyy too much ice even when you request less ice. What's worse is when the drink isn't filled to the brim, & I can see there's still some left in the blender. The menu is compact with specialty, classic, matcha, seasonal, milk & fruit teas, ice blended, & refreshers. For the price point, loaded ice, 75¢ surcharge for boba add-ons, it doesn't feel like a good value. Amai Tea & Cafe isn't my cup of tea, but it's a convenient hangout for my teen because it's walkable from school. Recommended: 6 P.M. Sunset & Galaxy Lemonade. read more

Trying the shop at Santa Monica first and certainly got sold to their bold flavorful coffee. Want to try different vibe, I visited the Torrance outlet and I would say I even loved this one better, being more spacious and probably a more convenient space when I wanna sit for awhile and worked. The baristas were all super sweet and welcoming and I wasn't 100% sure if different shops carried different menu, but the one in Torrance seemed to offer more options including for milk tea and even boba toppings in case you're non-coffee drinker. I went for one of their top options, the Vietnamese coffee which was slapping and felt like literally gave me wakeup slap being super strong like classic Vietnamese drip. The condensed milk and creamy salted foam certainly gave it perfect balance, both in texture and flavor with the sweet-salty play. Add cocoa powder on top and voila chef kiss! read more

Checked out Amai on the way to work and love that they're open at 7 am. Theres plenty of parking since it's in a plaza. This place is spacious and has plenty of seating for those who want to work, study or hang out. The place has a cute and modern aesthetic. The employee working that morning was friendly and the service was nice compared to other local coffee shops. I ordered an iced Turon Banana which has espresso, milk, banana, banana chips. y You can pay additional for banana foam which I declined. The drink had a subtle taste of Turon so don't expect a strong banana flavor. I also ordered an everything but the bagel croissant with chunks of cream cheese on the inside. Another plus was that they were able to warm up my food. I asked where they got their pastries and was happy to hear that they got them from Nonna Mercato in Long Beach. Their menu is extensive and I noticed that not all their drinks had prices listed. Would be nice to know before ordering. Anyways, I'm looking forward to trying their other drinks in the future! read more

Oh, how I WISH they had larger portions, but it is what it is... Amai is amazing. It's worth the wait, as there's usually a line which can get quite long. There's only around 2-3 people prepping, so plan to be patient. The interior has been full of people when I've dropped in. It's a rather large interior space, no outside seating, with merch and other items lying around. Parking is available in a small shared lot. Amai is at the corner of the plaza, and I can imagine that they have the most foot traffic. Cannot recommend the Amai Signature with Oat Milk enough!!! read more

The store is located in a small plaza with a parking lot. We tried a hot Manila vanilla, iced banana cream matcha, and a chocolate croissant. Everything tasted great. The croissant was nice and flaky and did not skimp on the Nutella inside. Staff was nice The interior decor was cute. read more
