Order a few drinks, first time trying this place. Got the Turon Latte, it's wasn't sweet which is good. Hubby got the Milo Mocha latte, mom got an Americano and for our not so little one, a double chocolate cookie. I think they serve a take on Filipino breakfast food. The place wasn't too big but seems cozy enough. Might go back to try other stuff. We like the seating outside, it has enough shade.
Super cute lil coffee shop with amazing drinks and even more amazing service!! Their matcha was rich, creamy and high quality. Great place to get a little work done, only downside is that there is no bathroom for customers
They are currently in their soft opening but nonetheless the drinks were super good! Ordered matcha mango sticky rice and a pandan matcha - it was so good but a bit on the sweeter side. I feel like they need to balance out the flavors a bit but I still really liked it! Service was good, the cashier was very nice, interior is also really cute. They have board games on display that you can play with friends or family while you hang out. There's also some outlets in there if you ever need to study or do work- which I will probably do next time. Will def come back!
Loved this cute little Filipino-American inspired coffee shop! Enough space and cozy enough to just bring your laptop and work or study. Only con is they do not have restrooms available. Came a little late so most of the pastries were sold out, but I did get a red velvet cheesecake cookie and it was amazing 1000/10! You can tell it was freshly made! Also got a banana bread iced latte, 9/10 , I was expecting more banana flavor. Parking can be a nightmare if you come during rush hour. Service was 1000000/10. Very polite and friendly This coffee shop is rooted in faith, and love for Christ you can definitely feel!!! Will be stopping by to try something new soon!
New favorite coffee spot! Tamistea has such a clean and modern vibe, making it a really nice place to relax and enjoy a drink. The space feels bright, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The drinks are just as good as the atmosphere. The ube matcha was smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced, and the mais con coffee is definitely one of my go-to orders now. Everything tastes fresh and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. Overall, a great neighborhood café and a spot I can see myself coming back to often. If you're nearby and looking for a good coffee place, this one is worth checking out.
This matcha was delicious. It was so well prepared and balanced. I didn't feel any of the bitterness that matcha has. Will come back to try the other flavors. Service was excellent. The staff was very friendly.
I'm back as promised! This time I tried their matcha. I decided to go with the matcha tonic because I'm a big tonic fan. The matcha was much much better than the coffee! As soon as I saw the bold bright green color I knew I had made the right choice. Service remained as amazing as the first time I was here. I also appreciate that they're super helpful when it comes to asking about potential allergens in the drinks. The ambiance still hit that perfect spot. Looking forward to trying a matcha latte next time.
Their latte was enjoyable but their matcha was a bit watered down. As far as the drinks we tried, nothing stood out as exceptional enough to rave about, but it also wasn't offensive so it's all a matter of personal taste. The pastries we tried were also pretty good. These things can be modified and improved and I know they'll tweak things and only makes things better and I can already see from the reviews that many people love their offerings. The service is friendly. I truly, truly wish them well. I do disagree with the notion that it's a good place to work or study because they do not offer restrooms. I feel like a good coffee shop (or at least a coffee shop that you can work and study at) gives you at least that option.

Stopped by after lunch for a pick-me-up: it is located inside of a strip mall with a good amount of parking, but I can imagine it might be tricky to find a spot during busier hours. Inside is minimalist, but charming with plenty of natural lighting and some board games on the side. It's a Christian-based café, so you'll see quotes and drinks inspired by the faith. I ordered their signature mais con ube and double matcha. The mais con ube came beautifully-presented, and I can see why it's a fan favorite: taste-wise, it was solid, with strong coffee and a sweet ube cream top to balance it out. Not sure if I tasted much of the corn flavor, but in any case, it was really good! Double matcha was good, but a bit on the milky side; perhaps it was the oat milk I'd opted for as the latte base, but it could've had more matcha. Not bad, though! I would return to Tamistea for the mais con ube alone. Even if you're not faith-based, it's still a nice café to come and sit a while!

For the menu, the signature drinks are inspired by Filipino flavors. I ordered a matcha latte and really wanted to enjoy my drink. I felt that the matcha was very grainy, bitter and had an aftertaste that lingered. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my drink. Despite this, I think that Tamistea is a nice spot to bring friends or to just relax.
Wow, so glad I finally tried this spot. Loved all of my drinks so much, and the Filipino cornbread was to die for!! The matcha and coffee here are both so high quality. The owner is an absolute sweetheart, she was so welcoming and generous which is a huge plus. The shop itself is also really cute and gives cozy islandy vibes. Plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating so this is a perfect hangout spot! I can't wait to come back!!

The Smores Cookie was just good, actually, it was great. The décor was original, with style, and yet still comfortable. There were many seating options but I just had to sit at the smallest table and smallest stool for the experience. There is a water station. The parking was great on this early Saturday morning; the parking hot here is shared among many businesses. I support the Women-owned businesses and I hope this café does well. Such a cute spot!! Lots of parking but it does fill up, tons of seating inside but no public restrooms!! Keep this in mind if you plan on coming to stay for multiple hours! Service was great! I felt bad for the one girl working alone since it was a little busy when I got there but she was kind and got me my drink in no time! I wanted to get something on their seasonal menu but unfortunately it had already sold out so I ended up getting the banana bread latte. I ordered the mais con ube but subbed with matcha. The best way to describe the drink was that I wasn't wow-ed esp with it being over $9. It was just mid and I wish it had more of that corn flavor. Service was friendly and has a cute vibe though. Note there's no public bathrooms, which seems inconvenient if you plan to study or stay for an extended period. read more

I've been meaning to try this spot since they opened I'm so glad I came! It's in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. There's some seating inside, we came late on a weekday morning and there was none though. The menu had a lot of great unique drinks so it was hard to pick but the barista helping us was super friendly! The mango matcha was super refreshing and light, a great summer drink overall. I also really enjoyed the Pandan and loved that it wasn't too sweet. The Ube cookie was one of the best cookies I've had as well. I'll definitely be back to try the coffee! read more

I think I ordered the wrong drinks lol. So I'll probably have to visit this place again in the future. This is a new coffee shop that opened up recently in Torrance. I heard great things! We got the milk and honey and the banana bread latte. Both drinks were just okay. The milk and honey tasted like a normal iced coffee with milk in it. The banana bread latte had a nice foam top to it, but the coffee underneath it was essentially identical to the milk and honey. The foam top was tasty but rather thin. Each drink/sip was met with a taste of the foam but quickly overpowered in volume and taste by the iced coffee beneath. The service was good. Really nice and polite. The barista highly recommended the banana bread latte and I was quite excited to try it. I think I'll try out some other popular drinks next time :) The ambiance is what you'd expect from a coffee shop. It's a nice place for studying and socializing. There's a decent amount of parking available too so that's a plus. read more

What an adorable space for a coffee shop! I love finding these small businesses that offer unique flavors in their drinks and cookies/ pastries. The owner is a Filipina entrepreneur and that shows in the flavor choices in the drinks and goodies. As my first time there, I like to ask what their signature drinks are. They actually have a section on their menu called "signature drinks" After debating in my head what was going to be my first choice, I opted for Turon Kape. This was an iced drink, be sure to mix the drink for the flavors to meld. I also got a few cookies to bring home for family, ube, champorado, and chocolate chip. Cookies came out warm and were delicious! Everyone was friendly and personable! Plenty of parking available in the strip mall. I will definitely be back! Salamat! read more

I was so excited to find out that there was a new coffee shop opening up in Torrance! As a big coffee fan, I've been loving all the coffee spots popping up lately. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this new coffee shop is Filipino owned! Double happiness! Being a Filipina, Tamistea was definitely one I absolutely wanted to check out. I came during soft opening and loved how they had a good selection of pastries and drinks. All the cookies were $4.50 and the croissants were $6. I chose to get the Mais con Ube iced coffee ($7) and a Ube White Chocolate cookies ($4.50). Being an ube fan, I was definitely happy to see these ube offerings and hope Tamistea will offer more Ube offerings in the future. The Mais con Ube had a nice layer of ube at the top of the drink along with some sprinkles of corn flake. I loved the sweet ube and the strong coffee, though I wish they mixed better. The ube layer mostly stayed at the top. Overall the coffee was enjoyable and I definitely want to try more of their drinks in the future. The Bethlehem Bliss and the Milk and Honey Drinks not only sound intriguing but sound delicious too. The Ube White Chocolate cookie was a great deal at $4.50. The cookie was huge! The ube flavor was subtle but the cookie was still really good. It had a soft, chewy texture and a nice buttery, sweet flavor. It made for the perfect pair with my ube drink. Overall I am thrilled to have Tamistea in Torrance. It was my first visit this past weekend and it definitely won't be my last! read more

Such a charming and faith forward cafe. Would've wished for more dairy-free options but I enjoyed my signature Milk & Honey drink with a side of the fluffy and perfectly sweet cornbread cake. I picked up an encouraging sticker and also scribbled in a prayer request for their box near the window. Lots of natural light and indoor and outdoor seating. Adequate parking and easy to find spot. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend! read more

Tamistea is a newer local Filipino inspired coffee shop with a decent selection of coffees and specialty drinks. They have a very cozy interior and decent parking. Their mais con ube was really delicious, strong earthy corn flavor mixed with coffee and the mild sweetness from the ube paired perfectly with the drink. First time visiting! I've been meaning to try for awhile. Local business with a strong team behind them. The menu is short and sweet and the pastries are unique. Loved my Isla Refresher. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Might be hard to miss if you're driving fast. Seating and board games inside if you want a place to hang out. Seems like a cool place to do work as well. Newest tea shop In a strange little outside strip mall Selection of teas, coffees and danishes Mellow music plays and the games invite visits, but could use some more seating. The only negative is that there is no public rest room. So, don't drink too much when you're here ! If you're in the area and in the mood for a piping hot (or cold) caffeinated beverage give it a go I had to get the matcha with mango ... because I've never had that combo before. Heard that the chocolate chip cookies and matcha were good. I'm always looking for a good new matcha place. Tries a couple of pastries. They can warm up the cookies if needed. The Matcha was a too bitter for me and no counterbalancing sweetness. Not sure if I could have asked to adjust sugar level like some other places but wasn't given an option. Maybe it needed more strawberry. Dunno. I think I prefer the Matcha strawberry at some other places. 1. Mushroom pastry and Spinach pastry: flavor pretty good. recommend heating up in oven to crisp up the pastry. 3. Chocolate chip cookie: pretty sweet. Would recommend warming up since the cookie is a little bit on the hard otherwise. 4. Strawberry cream croissant: Don't know why but this tasted salty. I've been seeing Tamistea all over Instagram so I was excited to stop by in the morning! I love the cutesy vibes and always a bonus point but a big parking lot! I got the green pasture with almond milk. It's definitely matcha forward which I appreciate but I wish they put more banana pudding... maybe I'm biased because I LOVE banana pudding. I also got the spinach pastry which was nice a flakey. Next time I'm definitely getting one of those massive cookies!! Overall, I'm excited to come back and try out different drinks. The cafe is cute and cozy with friendly staff, and doesn't have too long of a wait (probably 15 min max). They have some board games and ample seating to hang out. It has a parking lot shared with multiple businesses, so parking may be a challenge at busier times. I love how they have a lot of unique signature Filipino drinks like the mais con ube and turon kape, along with viral classics like a banana pudding matcha. They also had a lot of thick cookies available with their pastries. The mais con ube was very creamy and rich, but the corn kind of overpowered the ube taste imo. Finally got to try this spot. It's been on my list for a while. Ambiance is pretty nice, it's calm, oddly enough it made me feel like I was in the living room of the grandma back in the Philippines. Open space set up, with seating scattered around with different kind of vibes and comfort. The staff are really nice and friendly. You'll find some games you can play with in one of their corner areas. They also had this prayer box, where you can write something you want them to pray for you for, which is really nice so me and my bf took advantage of it. My bf got the mango sticky rice matcha and he said that he rated it at 7/10, just for the reason that he was not able to mix the bottom of his drink. I got the buko pandan matcha which I'll rate at 8/10, it was pretty good and refreshing. The one that we rated 10/10 is their chocolate chip cookie, it was big and soft and gooey. I really like this spot that open in the South Bay. I struggle to find coffee spots and tea spots in the area that I like. Parking is plenty as well and there is a cozy sitting area in the store. The workers were quick and helpful. I really like their ube foam since the flavor is concentrated. Their coffee is strong as well and their corn flavor in both the matcha and coffee shines through. Great choices of matcha and coffee, flavors are Filipino inspired. The staff was very nice and good at making recommendations, especially since they noticed many flavors caught our attention. I got the Buko pandan matcha, it was great, fresh and I tasted the creamy authentic coconut flavor. My boyfriend's coffee was great, reminded us of a dirty Ube latte but with cornflakes, great flavor! The environment is very friendly and positive, we loved that there were games to play together on our coffee/matcha date. Parking lot can be a little tight at times, depending on the time of day. Wished there was more dessert options maybe in the future like Turon! That would be a great addition :) We will be back! read more

Finally got around to trying Tamistea and I'm impressed! They have games, plenty of space for sitting and hanging out, and of course COFFEEEEEE. I tried their mais con ube latte because as a Filipina I have to try ube from all the Filipino spots. The ube cream top did not disappoint. The sweet corn milk was creamy and yummy, tasted like cereal milk and that's one of my favorite flavors, to be real. I forgot that there would be bits of corn in the drink so just be aware of that. I'm eager to try their banana bread latte and matcha pandan next time. I could totally see this as a spot to hang out after school or to do some WFH action when you're sick of being at home. I love the vibe and the barista that helped me out was helpful in offering up some of their popular drinks. They also had a couple mancala games which I love to play! read more

Needed a spot to spend some time reading and stumbled upon this Filipino shop. Tried the green pastures and the ube kuki (warmed up) and just loved both! Will definitely come back to try their other drink options. read more

Located off Torrance Bl. between Amie and Madrona in Torrance. It's in the small strip plaza a good amount of parking but can get busy with all the other businesses in there. This place is still on their soft opening as well. They did tell me next week or so they will extend their hours to 5pm they are still in the beginning stage of the place adding more things along the way. I got the strawberry matcha which was good and the Ube Halaya Kuki it was warm and fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is not too big with a few tables and seating. Overall so far this place is a hit and I do hope the shine big cause they do offer some good stuff and service as well. I'll be back again and glad it is close by as well. read more
