These drinks were delicious! We picked drinks off the summer menu and they did not disappoint: Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte- she was thick and creamy. I got it half sweet and it was perfect for me! Didn't last me long because I couldn't stop sippin on it! My man got the isla refresher which was a lot sweeter than mine but was super refreshing and tart forward as well. The cafe is cute and cozy with friendly staff, and doesn't have too long of a wait (probably 15 min max). They have some board games and ample seating to hang out. It has a parking lot shared with multiple businesses, so parking may be a challenge at busier times. I love how they have a lot of unique signature Filipino drinks like the mais con ube and turon kape, along with viral classics like a banana pudding matcha. They are currently in their soft opening but nonetheless the drinks were super good! Ordered matcha mango sticky rice and a pandan matcha - it was so good but a bit on the sweeter side. I feel like they need to balance out the flavors a bit but I still really liked it! Service was good, the cashier was very nice, interior is also really cute. They have board games on display that you can play with friends or family while you hang out. Inside is minimalist, but charming with plenty of natural lighting and some board games on the side. It's a Christian-based café, so you'll see quotes and drinks inspired by the faith. I ordered their signature mais con ube and double matcha. The mais con ube came beautifully-presented, and I can see why it's a fan favorite: taste-wise, it was solid, with strong coffee and a sweet ube cream top to balance it out. Not sure if I tasted much of the corn flavor, but in any case, it was really good! Double matcha was good, but a bit on the milky side; perhaps it was the oat milk I'd opted for as the latte base, but it could've had more matcha. Not bad, though! I've been meaning to try this spot since they opened I'm so glad I came! It's in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. There's some seating inside, we came late on a weekday morning and there was none though. The menu had a lot of great unique drinks so it was hard to pick but the barista helping us was super friendly! The mango matcha was super refreshing and light, a great summer drink overall. I also really enjoyed the Pandan and loved that it wasn't too sweet. The Ube cookie was one of the best cookies I've had as well. I'll definitely be back to try the coffee! read more

I think I ordered the wrong drinks lol. So I'll probably have to visit this place again in the future. This is a new coffee shop that opened up recently in Torrance. I heard great things! We got the milk and honey and the banana bread latte. Both drinks were just okay. The milk and honey tasted like a normal iced coffee with milk in it. The banana bread latte had a nice foam top to it, but the coffee underneath it was essentially identical to the milk and honey. The foam top was tasty but rather thin. Each drink/sip was met with a taste of the foam but quickly overpowered in volume and taste by the iced coffee beneath. The service was good. Really nice and polite. The barista highly recommended the banana bread latte and I was quite excited to try it. I think I'll try out some other popular drinks next time :) The ambiance is what you'd expect from a coffee shop. It's a nice place for studying and socializing. The owner is a Filipina entrepreneur and that shows in the flavor choices in the drinks and goodies. As my first time there, I like to ask what their signature drinks are. They actually have a section on their menu called "signature drinks" After debating in my head what was going to be my first choice, I opted for Turon Kape. This was an iced drink, be sure to mix the drink for the flavors to meld. I also got a few cookies to bring home for family, ube, champorado, and chocolate chip. I was so excited to find out that there was a new coffee shop opening up in Torrance! As a big coffee fan, I've been loving all the coffee spots popping up lately. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this new coffee shop is Filipino owned! Double happiness! Being a Filipina, Tamistea was definitely one I absolutely wanted to check out. I came during soft opening and loved how they had a good selection of pastries and drinks. All the cookies were $4.50 and the croissants were $6. I chose to get the Mais con Ube iced coffee ($7) and a Ube White Chocolate cookies ($4.50). Being an ube fan, I was definitely happy to see these ube offerings and hope Tamistea will offer more Ube offerings in the future. The Mais con Ube had a nice layer of ube at the top of the drink along with some sprinkles of corn flake. I loved the sweet ube and the strong coffee, though I wish they mixed better. The ube layer mostly stayed at the top. Overall the coffee was enjoyable and I definitely want to try more of their drinks in the future. The Bethlehem Bliss and the Milk and Honey Drinks not only sound intriguing but sound delicious too. The Ube White Chocolate cookie was a great deal at $4.50. The cookie was huge! The ube flavor was subtle but the cookie was still really good. It had a soft, chewy texture and a nice buttery, sweet flavor. It made for the perfect pair with my ube drink. It was a little too sweet for me, but that's just my preference since I don't like things too sweet. I really like this spot that open in the South Bay. I struggle to find coffee spots and tea spots in the area that I like. Parking is plenty as well and there is a cozy sitting area in the store. Heard that the chocolate chip cookies and matcha were good. I'm always looking for a good new matcha place. Tries a couple of pastries. They can warm up the cookies if needed. The Matcha was a too bitter for me and no counterbalancing sweetness. Not sure if I could have asked to adjust sugar level like some other places but wasn't given an option. Maybe it needed more strawberry. Dunno. I think I prefer the Matcha strawberry at some other places. 1. Mushroom pastry and Spinach pastry: flavor pretty good. recommend heating up in oven to crisp up the pastry. 3. Chocolate chip cookie: pretty sweet. Finally got around to trying Tamistea and I'm impressed! They have games, plenty of space for sitting and hanging out, and of course COFFEEEEEE. I tried their mais con ube latte because as a Filipina I have to try ube from all the Filipino spots. The ube cream top did not disappoint. The sweet corn milk was creamy and yummy, tasted like cereal milk and that's one of my favorite flavors, to be real. I forgot that there would be bits of corn in the drink so just be aware of that. I'm eager to try their banana bread latte and matcha pandan next time. I could totally see this as a spot to hang out after school or to do some WFH action when you're sick of being at home. Located off Torrance Bl. between Amie and Madrona in Torrance. It's in the small strip plaza a good amount of parking but can get busy with all the other businesses in there. This place is still on their soft opening as well. They did tell me next week or so they will extend their hours to 5pm they are still in the beginning stage of the place adding more things along the way. I got the strawberry matcha which was good and the Ube Halaya Kuki it was warm and fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is not too big with a few tables and seating. The mais (corn) matcha is a bit subtle than what I'm used to from other shops but theirs still tasted great! I'd definitely recommend it and reorder as well. It didn't overtake the matcha flavor, and less creamy. The double matcha on the other hand, go ahead and order it for a later time or the next day because wow, it's 10000/10!
