I got a seasonal pedicure that featured an orange scrub (smelled delicious!) She also cleaned up my fingers with a buff and shine - it was an easy way to get my hands back in shape without committing to nail polish. The salon itself is the nicest I've ever seen. Extremely clean and luxurious (I really appreciate the comfortable manicure stations!) In a world of assembly line nail salons it's refreshing to go to Excelsior Nails and Spa, they are definitely a step above the rest!

I explained again that I had the Groupon and she said if I wanted it with gel it's $60. I again said I had the Groupon and she said it only included the $45 service, no gel. I told her it was supposed to be $73 value. Anyhow, I was told I would have to pay $15 extra to get gel, but then she agreed to make it $10 extra because the Groupon value was so inflated. I paid $53 for a $45 manicure... Avoid the Groupon! So that was the initial pricing drama... Then for the manicure. The hot stone massage was decent. Then she was shaping my nails which were short to begin with and she just gave up on shaping. I had to ask her to please at least smooth them out. So unshaped nails and then came the polish... She did it so spotty and didn't even get it to the edges. Literally the worst polish job I've had yet. No cuticle work, so I looked at my nails when she finished and they already looked like they were a week old. At this point I had gel polish on my nails and there was nothing that could be done unless I got it fully redone. It took 2 hours from start to finish, so there was no way I could wait around any longer. They agreed that it didn't look great, but said there was nothing they could do and still charged me the extra amount for the gel polish and claimed my Groupon. The lady was nice (I believe her name was Tammy) but it seemed like it was hard for her to see super well and that's why the attention to detail was off. So 2 stars for the nice lady and decent massage that came with it! Otherwise go somewhere where you'll leave with nice nails

Bella on the Bay is my favorite spa in Minnesota. Bella offers everything you need - hair, body and nail services - all in one convenient location: Downtown Excelsior. I used to get my eyebrows waxed at Bella (I now try to maintain on my own to save $, but when I do get them waxed, I no longer go to Bella - no particular reason). I've had an awesome massage at Bella... they give you the royal treatment... flip flops, plush white robe, tea and a warm fire place while you wait... when the masseuse leaves the room at the end of the service, she goes into the locker room and turns on the shower for you so it is ready and warm when you get in there. I've also had a pedicure at Bella and loved it. One downfall to Bella is the parking. Being in Downtown Excelsior makes parking sparse from the get-go and it doesn't help that Bella has a very small number of spaces reserved for customers. There is a tiny lot behind the building with room for about 4 or 5 cars - unfortunately, it's a small driveway to get back to the lot and you have no idea if it's full or not. So, if you get back there and it's full, you have to back up, go forward, back up, go forward, etc to turn around and get back out to the street. I got my pedicure in the dead of winter and had to walk a block and a half in flip flops to get to my car because there were no parking spaces nearby when I arrived.
