Most awesomest pub in New Cumberland for a good mixed drink cocktail definitely try the hemp vodka very earthy and natural tones and the peanut butter whiskey is to die for and amazing grateful dead family vibes to say the least and if you get a chance to meet the owner awesome women and truly sad heartbreaking story behind the creation of this amazing establishment but her son's presence can definitely be felt there coming from a clairvoyant empath.... and definitely a place for me to donate some grateful dead artifacts i have possession of that deserves to be displayed in an amazingly kind awesome establishment like this. read more

If I lived on the West Shore, I'd be here all the time. The staff is great and they have a lot more seating than when they first opened. I am a big fan of flights and am always so thankful that they offer liquor flights. I did a vodka flight this visit. You choose up to 5 liquors and they are $2.50 each. My flight of flavored vodkas came to $12.50. I knew I wanted to purchase a bottle and this was a fantastic way to try before you buy. I also got the fluffernutter shot and I thoroughly enjoyed that. The PB whiskey was so dang smooth! I'm an Irish whiskey kind of lady, but this was very drinkable. I told my friend I was going to get a bottle of that as well as the vodka, but she talked me into the marshmallow whiskey instead. I haven't tried that yet, but I trust her judgement. The main thing to know is that it's definitely a place to sit and drink and not so much a place to eat. We popped in across the street to eat before coming to DL. They do have a pub-type menu with pretzel logs, chips & salsa, and pizza. That's about it for the offerings unless they have a special. It's a nice place to have a drinking session and you add chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and decent prices and you have a real winner! read more

A dive bar, done in the best way! I was attracted to the unique drink menu & huge selection. The drinks were a little on the sweeter side, but of the 7 drinks tried within my group, we liked every one - highly recommend the white gummy bear & Shirley you Jest! The decor is electric, with something splattered on every inch of every wall. The space has something for everyone, with a dark/divey front, the brighter, open back area and even some outdoor seating. Very limited food selection of bar snacks, but they partner with the neighboring burger joint if you really want food. Dead Lightning really surprised me & highly recommend it! read more

I thought this place was cool. Everyone was nice. I am glad we stopped by. It's all Pennsylvania alcohol. My wife liked their cinnamon whisky. They have a bunch of yuenglings troegs and IC light. The atmosphere was cool. The owners opened it up to honor their sons memory. It's decorated with stuff from his life. Pretty cool. Would definitely go back. I wasn't sure if they had food or we might've tried it out sooner. They have steak tacos, pretzels and chips and salsa. We didn't try the food. read more

This place is very intimate & awesomely homey which completely achieves the owners goals of making a tribute to their son who passed very young. It's a tasting room of various house distilled spirits. Vodka is their expertise and I tried their hemp vodka, which I really enjoyed just on ice. They also serve a few local craft brews in cans or bottles. I would have loved to try a flight of their spirits but it's Sunday night. Godspeed! We decided to come here for a friends birthday after finding it on Yelp. When we first got there it was very busy, standing room only. Within ten minutes, we were able to sit down and enjoy our drinks. The patrons and staff were so friendly that it made the experience that much better! We shared a flight of vodka, which was great. We also had their glazed shots which are a piece of fruit that's sugared and a shot of vodka. All of my actual drinks were made with the hemp vodka. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was amazing. We didn't know that they served food and since we already ate we didn't have any snacks. Next time we will try their food items. Really amazing gem for the West Shore. Stopped here for the first time last night and it was packed! Standing room only! They had some live music going on as well. The vibe is fantastic, the owners and staff have a done a fantastic job opening this place to help remember their son. It's a welcoming place for all and if you're a Grateful Dead fan even better. They have a large menu of drinks with their distilled vodka which they specialize in which not only were very good but also cool to look at with drinks every color of the rainbow. Dead Lightning is no dead end if you are looking for a good selection of vodka. The spirits are sweeter- great straight or blended into the perfect cocktail. We were visiting from Washington state, and although we have many talented distillers west of the Rockies, this is one of our new favorites. I really enjoyed my time here. They have a large list of drinks using their various flavors of vodkas that are distilled locally. I had one with grapefruit and another with peach. They also have flavors like Apple, strawberry, sweet tea, hemp, etc. so there's something for everyone. Vodka drinks were $6. They also have cinnamon whiskey and rum and a selection of canned beers. They have a few appetizers on the menu as well so you can snack while you drink, but if you are looking for dinner, this is not where you should stop first. Come here afterwards! We walked in having never been here before and were immediately welcomed in by a family owned bar and distillery. The owners personally welcomed us and were absolutely thrilled to show us around and help us order from the expansive menu. This is our new favorite spot after one visit. If you want a hometown spot to chill and drink while listening to cool tunes, this is it. The service is absolutely fantastic, right down to saving our table for us while we went outside to smoke. Out for date night in New Cumberland and we stopped in to DLSW. Wow, what a treat!! My wife and I are 60+ and we really enjoyed the laid back vibe and seeing the younger crowd doing the same. We immediately felt welcome and enjoyed our vodka cocktails before grabbing a bottle to go. I thought the business was a great tribute to a young family member who went too soon.
