I'm a huge fan of escape rooms and I'm glad we're getting more of them here in the Reno area. Deadline is definitely shaping up to be a great addition to the mix. The entrance/waiting area doesn't give much in the way to how aesthetically pleasing the rooms are. There is a monstrous skeleton you can snap some pictures with though! I'm excited to see what these folks do. I think these guys are going to give my favorite escape room a run for their money. Unlike other places they didn't give us a little "backstory" video on how we ended up in our escape room predicament. Instead the game master walked us into the room and put us where we belong and said their farewell. Once they closed the door the action began as a narrative started to play. I won't spoil anything for those who have yet to do it. But, we did the Circus themed room and the narrative was led by the crazy ring leader who had alternate motives than letting us leave! The attention to detail was pretty neat in here, it really screamed callbacks to the earlier days of the big top tents and feats of wonder. I'm stoked to try the rest of their rooms. My team did great. They also have a unique feature (not sure if it is for all rooms) but the circus room had a regular and challenge mode. And the challenge mode was said to have. Couple more puzzles and they don't give you hints. I will be going back and also opting for the challenge mode since my team rocked so hard with the normal mode. read more

My family and I were together for Thanksgiving and wanted some "healthy competition" after a horrible experience at a different escape room in Sparks. This escape room was hands down the best ones I've completed. We did the witch doctor room. Excellent customer service! Props were so theatrical and interactive - room was well laid out, clues were just right! There was clearly a lot of thought and heart put into this place. We had a great time and can't wait to go back to try some of their other rooms! My only feedback is that they should Have a sign that states "We escaped" and some way to do a team competition. read more

We did dead silence and puzzle wise this was definitely one of the best we have played in Reno.

I would 100% recommend this escape room. My group of friends do escape rooms around twice a month and it has been a while since we were genuinely excited and intrigued by a room. Not only were the rooms extremely detailed, but the puzzles were creative and fun. We did 2 rooms, the Witch doctor and Dead silence. Both are worth a try. You can definitely tell that the owners are really proud of what they created. The rooms were so aesthetically pleasing, when we entered the Witch doctor room my mouth dropped on the floor. This is probably my favorite escape room in Reno. We have done 2 rooms so far and really loved both of them. I'm also planning to do Noir next month for my birthday! We did the Witch Doctor in January and we were blown away by the room, it was so well done and beautiful. A couple weeks ago, we did Dead Silence and I'm still blown away by it. I love scary movies and this was the first "scary" escape room I've ever done (with the exception of the saw escape room in Vegas) and I had SO much fun getting scared while trying to figure out clues! We didn't make it out in time but we were close and I wasn't even bummed about it because it was the most fun I've ever had in an escape room. I've done many escape rooms in reno but deadline has to be my favorite place to go now. Looking forward to more! read more

Took my Leadership Team to do an Escape Room together as a team building experience. The staff at Deadline was super accommodating and actually opened up early for us. This was the first time in an Escape Room for half of my team. We did the Witch Doctor room. It was really well done, clean, and nothing was broken. I had set up for a group of us to go check out Dead Silence...I know we were all intrigued by the description and working in silence? During an escape room...like how? It was a group of 8 of us, and our host was very warm and helpful. Without giving too much away, it definitely kept you on your toes as we're navigating through the room. I can tell there was so much planning and thought placed into the set up. The only thing some of us felt with 8 people it was a bit tight in terms of looking for clues with the light that is provided. But in hearing how they are a small team of staff working together and coming up with new rooms...and hearing about the new rooms to come, I would totally set up to plan another group Escape room outing with Deadline. I may go 1 less than the cap, to ensure everyone gets a turn to touch and explore things given the spacing. read more

I took *most* of my kids (haha); ages 17, 14, 11, 8, 5, and 5 months to Deadline and we had SO much fun! We did the Witch Doctor room. The decor was awesome and puzzles allowed everyone to participate (well, except for the baby... she just looked at all of the lights). The attendant (I wish I would have paid attention to her name) was SUPER nice and helpful. She really made the whole experience fun for us. We will definitely be back! Did the Dead Silence Room. There were 4 of us and we barely got out. It was so much fun. The set up had so much detail and the clues required observation skills, teamwork and thought. The room master? paid attention really well. We got stumped and kinda started arguing and she stepped in with some helpful words to get us back on track. She also offered to help when she heard us discuss a couple times whether she should ask or not. Her attentiveness really made a difference. Absolute gem of an escape room facility. My group of three completed Witch Doctor then Freak Show. Witch Doctor's good for 3-4 people, while a group of 4 or more might go for Freak Show. Both rooms were excellently designed in terms of their puzzles and decor. I've done dozens of rooms, and I'm confident both of these rooms are two of the best I've seen. SO. MUCH. FUN!!! My family and I were visiting from the Bay Area and came across this escape room that was very close to our hotel and decided to try it out. We've done a few in the Bay but this place was definitely our favorite!!! Sean and Dominique were SUPER friendly and fun! The Dead Silence room was creepy, but VERY well put together. Everything was so on point with the theme; it was like you were actually living it! Although we finished with only 20 secs left, we will definitely be coming back when we're back up here to try the other themed rooms when they announce those! :) Can't wait!!! read more

SO MUCH FUN!!!! One of the coolest, best set up rooms I've been to. We did the detective room and then went back and did the voodoo room. The detective room was kind of hard!! We had to ask for a few clues but we realized we had made a mistake. So when I say it was hard it was in a good way! Voodoo room was super cool! My daughters and I did the witch doctor room and it was so much fun! the puzzles were unique, the room was highly interactive and the decor and setting were superb! I hate to be the first to break the near-perfect streak of Yelp reviews for Deadline Escape Rooms, because I really liked their facility overall, and our game master Isiah was attentive, kind, and provided us hints at just the right times, when we asked for them. However, while the game design in our escape room was definitely not the worst I've encountered, it was also far from the best. Our group went with the Dead Silent scenario, which has already been talked up by many previous reviewers. It's the one that supposedly requires you to be silent, and in which you are supposedly plunged into the dark. For starters, I'm not sure I'd be able to honestly say either of those claims are true. This room was, generally speaking, rather well lit compared to many other escape rooms I've been in, both at Keystone, GSR, and elsewhere. At no point did we feel like we actually genuinely needed the spotlight we were given. This takes the air out of some of the horror premise, as does the fact that, well, you can pretty much yell as loud as you want without setting off the decibel meter that shuts off the light. The only things in the room which do set it off are red herring metal objects you'll find yourself pulling out of boxes at certain points. The clanging noises do set off the detector which cuts your handheld spotlight. Even then, the light only shuts off for about five seconds or so, making the effect on progression minimal. Since you won't *really* need it to solve the vast majority of the puzzle, the whole mechanic is pretty underwhelming. I'll pass over the fact that the "gory" aspects of the room are also vastly oversold by many other Yelpers here. If you are not scared by fake disembodied arms and legs and a bit of fake blood, you'll be fine. Now for the truly important part - the game design. In this, I was also left pretty disappointed. It wasn't a complete mess, but Dead Silent is almost entirely composed of puzzles in which one has to retrieve a code to open a combo lock. There are so many more interesting possibilities with escape rooms, but this room really only diverges from the "find the code" formula once. On top of this, many of the cases in which one has to retrieve a code, the puzzle one has to solve is unintuitive, and involves extended manipulation and examination of objects which are nothing more than red herrings with numbers on them - to me, a tactic that's more annoying than clever, in this type of entertainment. Make me spend time figuring out how to make the objects in the room interact with each other, don't slow me down with junk. No hidden rooms, no real surprises, no scares. There were several points at which our group needed hints, not because the puzzles required a great deal of clever lateral thinking, but because they were unintuitive or, in some cases, I dare say, poorly designed. We escaped with a few minutes to spare, but by that point we were more frustrated and underwhelmed than anything, and were ready to be finished with the game. Definitely not the experience we were expecting. There seems to be promise here, since it seems like Deadline has a relatively healthy budget, and kind, attentive employees. I wish them well, genuinely. I just hope that for future puzzles, they hire someone on board who's a better game designer, and has a few more tricks up their sleeves than "time to hunt for the letters and numbers for your next combo lock." read more

Best part was that we didn't even plan to come here because we didn't even know it existed, but thanks to Yelp we found it while dining at Bistro 7. So much fun! I did Freak Show with three of my daughters, aging from 27 down to 12, and we all had a great time! The puzzles weren't easy but they weren't incredibly hard either. My 12 year old had so much fun that she was rushing around trying to solve things before the rest of us could solve the puzzles we were working on! And the staff was extremely courteous and helpful.
