This isn't a snoody insider shop, where an angry neckbeard will laugh at you for not knowing your Image from your Darkhorse. These folks are happy to help anybody with their first venture into comics, or will kindly leave the veterans to browse. They will set up a pull-list for you, if you want to keep up to date on the latest issues, which is even easier and more convenient to do from home if you use Facebook or Instagram. Just follow their posts and comment on their new release postings to pre-order anything in advance. And my favorite Sunday activity is following their weekly "Claims," where they feature new-to-the-store key issues and bundles at great deals. It's also a great spot for Free Comic Book Day and Halloween. They have some back issues, including some nice expensive finds on the wall and behind the glass, but since it's not the biggest shop in the world, you could probably look elsewhere for that. The customer service and atmosphere is what I come for, though, so it's my first and primary destination for new books.

My friends and I over the years have had mixed experiences at Uncanny King of Prussia. It was not…read moreactually a comic shop, but a pop culture shop with a weak selection of comics. I visited here in late summer 2021 and found positive changes, including more focus on comics. When I was traveling back through the area again, I didn't hesitate to stop in with a friend and see how it was going. That was a mistake. Uncanny had to move again to another location in the mall over by Nordstrom. Shop's exterior and interior looks nice, not sure they did the work or the previous tenant did. Space is divided into three rooms. The main area has graphic novels, another houses new pull comics, and a final room is full of longboxes. Except...there's a barricade to the longbox room. My friend was confused and asked about it as we primarily came here for the longboxes. Even after being located here for a month, they don't have them ready. This is unacceptable and I felt bad for the employee, who probably had to tell this to more than one customer. For being in a prestigious location, the King of Prussia Mall, this shop lacks a lot of what it should and most of that is direction. I recommend Showcase Comics and Games in Bryn Mawr and Brave New Worlds in Willow Grove for shops that are well stocked, stable, and reliable.

Great comic shop in an unconventional location…read more Uncanny! is the first comic book store I've ever seen in a mall. The King of Prussia Mall is a massive shopping center, but lacked many of the nerdier stores such as Hot Topic, Box Lunch, and Spencers establishments where I can buy cool shirts, figures, and other geeky merch. Uncanny! fills that niche beautifully while also delivering on the experiences I expect from my local comic shop. Uncanny! isn't the largest store, but it makes up for it with excellent space usage. Products are organized neatly into sections from clothes to comics to games. The comic sections are further divided into recent comics, graphic novels, kid comics, and back issues (old/out of print comics). The store is well kept and clean, and the colorful decor makes it feel alive, even when there is no one else shopping. If you are a die-hard collector, you might be disappointed due to the limited availability of items. As mentioned, space is limited, so you might not find some of your old collector issues or rare figurines. But you will find most everything new. If you are looking for something, call ahead. The people here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are fair, except for the odd retail-exclusive comics that are a bit higher priced than what I've seen in other comic stores. They also offer a loyalty program. Spend X-money, get Y-gift cards. It's pretty simple, free to sign up, and has no expiration. So it's worth your time if you come to the mall every month or so. If you're looking for a gift for that nerdy someone, or just want to pick up the latest DC or Marvel comic, Uncanny! is a fun little stop in your mall shopping experience.

The staff had nothing but patience as I had a large extensive list of things I wanted. The owner even came to unlock the basement as he had more items in the basement that I wanted. They were very helpful, had several of the items I wanted and most of all I felt like their prices were fair. The owner also gave a nice discount. My mom went to several other retro video game stores in the area and none of them compared to this. The other stores were either severely overpriced and unwilling to negotiate, the employees weren't friendly or they didn't have a good selection. This place was perfect and I would definitely come again when I'm in town.

Worst Card Shop... EVER!…read more Owner had a box out with assorted cards, one of which was a terrible player that was a 1/1. Asked owner his price and he then says "oh I'm actually selling the rainbow, which is not complete, so let me go figure out the price for you". I give him another card I know the value of to see how he's going to price things. Owner then gives me a price of $300 for an incomplete rainbow of Hakeem Butler cards (what an absolute joke), and a price of $40 for a Fletcher Cox card that I could buy in store on eBay from another seller for $25 plus free shipping. I then asked the owner if this assorted box of Funkos was available, which he said was about to go on eBay. I found one that caught my eye, that after searching and confirming with other collectors that it was a regular Funko with a glow in the dark sticker slapped on. I asked the owner what his price was for this as I've never seen this before. I then watched him struggle to find the item on 130point.com and come up empty handed. An absolute joke of a card shop that you have to be dumb to actually spend money at. The kicker? I got YELLED AT for taking a picture of a card they were overpricing because they said "no scanning in store". Go to Nashville cards or buy singles on eBay and avoid this craphole.

As I walked around I noticed they even have a selection of Pokémon and other trading card games merchandise. But, Pokemon was the biggest selection over the rest of the TCG merchandise available. That is right up my son's alley. The owner Nick happened to be working when I was in. He was very helpful in locating a few cards that we were looking for. He is even helping us locate a few that he did not have. As he does have a few connections. You can find him also operating a booth at local card shows. The pricing at Corliss cards is extremely fair and reasonable. Everyone deserves to have that special card at just the right place. Ha! I feel that way about antiques. His space is shared with a record store and Jake's Baristas. When I was there Jake's was getting a little facelift, but should be back up and running by early to mid November. I've heard so many great things about Jake's. Jake's baristas is a 501c non profit. Their mission is inclusion revolution. You really have to look them up on social media. They do a lot of great work. They are all about giving back to the community. A majority of the baristas have special needs. This is a fantastic mission! The support Nick gives to the Special Needs community also holds a special spot in my heart as I work with special needs kiddos.
