I had such a great experience with Jess at Dean Anthony Hair Salon today! My first time with this salon. t had been about a year and four months since my last highlights, so I was definitely overdue. I came in wanting a fresh honey-toned look, and Jess absolutely delivered. She was incredibly patient, really took the time to understand what I wanted, and helped me choose a color combination that turned out even better than I imagined. You can tell she truly knows what she's doing and cares about her clients feeling confident and happy. On top of that, she's just so kind and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I walked out feeling like a whole new person. Highly recommend Jess if you're looking for highlights or a color refresh!

I really wanted to like this salon. It is beautiful, they carry great products, and the appointment started well. I booked online for $270 to get my roots done. No cut, just roots. At checkout, the total was almost $400 because of add-ons I was never told would cost extra. I had called ahead specifically to ask if they use Olaplex and was told yes. My stylist chose to use K18 instead. K18 and Olaplex can be used together, but she used K18 only, then I learned at checkout that I had also been charged extra for it. I was also charged $72 for a root shadow/smudge without being told beforehand. A root smudge takes a few minutes to apply and uses only a few dollars worth of demi-permanent color. I have never been charged separately like this at another salon. If a service is going to add that much to an advertised price, clients should be told and given the choice before it is performed. The communication was what really bothered me. When I asked why my temples were still dark after being highlighted, I was told I had waited too long between appointments, even though this was virgin regrowth and around when I normally get my hair done. Then when I questioned how a $270 appointment became almost $400, the receptionist told me that next time I should discuss pricing with my stylist beforehand. That was especially frustrating because I had talked to the salon. I booked a service with a listed price and called ahead with questions. So it wasn't great being told I should have done... what I did. In order for them not to take advantage? There was also a lot of upselling. My stylist kept recommending K18 products and an Oribe product, which I already use Oribe. When the Oribe product she recommended was out of stock, she suggested a completely different Oribe product instead, one I already knew does not work for my hair. That made the recommendations feel more sales-driven than like care. And after almost $400, I still have visible roots, dark temples, and a demarcation line. I asked for a neutral to warm blonde and specifically said I did not want cool or gray tones, but the new growth was toned noticeably cooler than the rest of my hair. After washing it, the few new highlights at the top also felt rough and I noticed some breakage. This is exactly why I had called ahead about Olaplex. Even with K18 and bleach with built in bond reconstructing you still need a bond reconstructor with bleach or hair gets rough in a few washes, I've been through this before and can literally tell lol. Felt fine out of the salon, one wash in, better than with raw bleach but definitely worse than with a bond reconstructor. K18 works differently, it's not enough on its own. Especially with one application. Practical note for anyone booking: parking is street-only. The meter app was not working when I went, and my stylist was actually really nice and ran out with my card to try to pay the meter for me. Unfortunately, I had already gotten a ticket within about 20 minutes. There is some free street parking farther back, but it is limited, so I would arrive early and look for that first. The photos are from the day of the appointment. My hair was styled nicely and they did not destroy it, so 2 stars, and everyone has an off day. But between the result, undisclosed charges, upselling, and the way concerns were turned back on me, I would not return.

This salon is top notch. I always get compliments on my hair since I started doing my hair here. I have done my hair with Brian and Veronica. I liked their haircut and color and they listen to what you need and do the work with excellence. It's an investment but it's well worth it. Veronica is detailed oriented and has not only done my hair but has given me many hair tips. Overall, the salon is clean, professional, friendly, and they ensure they have strong customer service. I will highly recommend this place for all your hair needs.

Baky is wonderful, Funny and an artist! She helped revamp my hair and I love the cut and color!!

I came in knowing I needed to freshen up my beyalage hair color but had no idea what I wanted. I explained what I was considering and Baky helped guide me on what type of color range fit my skin tone while also being aware of my past choices in colors. It really helped me make an informed decision and it came out so beautiful! I'm always relaxed and confident that my hair color and experience at the salon is going to be a 10/10 with an amazing and kind hair stylist like Baky. She is a true pro in her field and I highly recommend her if you need someone patient, experienced and really funny too

This is my second time at Dean Anthony on 2nd street in Belmont Shore and I will go out of my way to come here everyone! The service is unmatched, the staff goes above and BEYOND honey! From the front desk to your hair stylist it is 10 out of 10 service. The ambiance is incredible and the vibe is uplifting and happy. I find myself smiling from the moment I walk in until hours after I leave. Today I requested layers after growing my hair out for the last year and was blessed to have Brian as my stylist. He gave me exactly what I asked for style-wise and was such a pleasure to chat with!

I am from out of town visiting from Seattle. I needed a haircut so when passing by, I decided to walk in and see if anyone was available. Megan was available, she was very nice, gave me a great head massage and explained how to style my hair. It ended up beautiful just what I wanted. I will be back to have a blowout for my birthday dinner on Saturday. Thank you so much!

My hair now (after growing it out a bit and getting it fixed )

I contemplated this review for months now. I had a bad experience at this salon. I have curly hair, and at the time of haircut it was 12+ inches long. Literally my first haircut in about 4 years. But I wanted to go short, a little shorter than shoulder length + with bangs. So upon making the appointment, we asked for someone with experience working with curly hair. We were told that every stylist has 10+ years of experience, and we were given an appointment with a stylist (I'm blanking on her name right now). At the appointment, I showed the inspo pics and repeatedly asked "do you have experience cutting curly hair?" And she told me something along the lines of "oh yeah I've been cutting hair for years" (this went off as a red flag for me idk). She cut off about 12in length at my request, and everything was downhill from there. After the botching, she washed my hair and barely styled it (curly-haired people know how much it takes to style it). And didn't even fully dry it. I left the salon looking like a knockoff Inigo Montoya. The stylist herself was extremely nice and easy to talk to, but it's an unfortunate situation where being nice isn't the service requested, nor the service being paid (a pretty penny btw) for. I literally cried to my family about how embarrassing it looked, couldn't even take pictures of myself. I had curly MICROBANGS. And some strands were so uneven to the area next to them (like I literally had a group of hairs that were almost an inch shorter than the group surrounding it in the section). Girl--be serious. Thank god it's grown out a bit now. Besides the botched hair, I'm so peeved that for the cost, I walked out with unstyled and still wet hair. Bffr. I seriously think this stylist does not have sufficient experience with curly hair. Rating 1 star solely on the haircut + no style or dry. The customer experience is nice. But this is a hair salon, and I'm rating based off my hair.

Baky is absolutely amazing! She always does such an incredible job, and I leave every appointment feeling so confident. She's so talented, pays attention to every detail, and really takes the time to make sure everything is perfect. Not only is her work beautiful, but she's also so kind, welcoming, and easy to talk to. I couldn't recommend her enough to anyone looking for an amazing hairstylist. Thank you, Baky, for always making my hair look and feel its best!

Book with Brian! Brian was knowledgeable and personable. He got rid of my brassy blonde with toner/gloss and gave me the best long layer hair cut with a blow out! I'm obsessed. Highly recommend Brain and Dean Antony Salon!

We did a latte/teddy bear brown balayage and I am OBSESSED

Briana!!! Does anyone know where she went? I'm pretty bummed. And for the record this is a really great salon. Good people, drinks, a few too many TV's for me but I'm not your typical sports dude so we'll chalk it up to that and convenient location. Go, now, do it! read more

Had the men's deep cleanse facial. It was not the best experience. The esthetician was new. It felt rushed, uneasy, and not very comfortable. Each person experiences a person differently, but I felt compelled to write this because a $100 facial(including tip) should be something you feel great about when you are done. They phoned me after reading this review and gave me a complementary facial. Much better this time. What excellent business practice to actually read how customers are feeling! Bravo Dean Anthony! A once 2 star is now a 5. read more

Yesenia was awesome! She is your girl for extensions, blow-outs, up-dos, and makeup. I was getting ready for a really big night and this girl was literally a one-stop-shop. I got a blowout, style and makeup done. My hair is pretty bleached and she got it so smooth, the curls relaxed into perfect waves as the night went on. Now, I usually shy away from getting my makeup done - afraid that I will end up looking like Cher or a hooker - but Yesenia insisted and told me it would last the day and into the long night ahead. She made me look so natural and feel so pretty. I don't have super clear skin and once she was finished, I looked like a doll! My eyes were perfectly done without being too made up. I can't say enough good things about it! I think the best part was that while she worked she really engaged me in asking what I wanted and had great tips from HER OWN EXPERIENCE (not to mention she went to school to do hair and makeup for movies!!) That is so important to me in a stylist - I take such comfort in hearing how a product or style or technique worked turned out for them. She had great insight. read more

There is a huge difference in a cheap and a quality haircut. If you finish you haircut only to wonder what it's gonna look like after you shower, well, you did not get a quality cut. I saw Erika today. I had some idea of how I wanted my hair to look when I was done. Amazingly, she patiently listened and only when I asked a professional opinion did she offer her insight. I left my style in her hands and finally found my stylist. She did an amazing job. She balanced and managed the cut and style like a professional should and after a shower, well it looks amazing. Between Amanda at the front desk and Erica, I will be back at Dean Anthony on a regular cadence. read more

Nassim is amazing!! I have gone to her a couple times now for color. The first was a icy blonde bayalage and second was a more warm tone bayalage. Both times were exactly what I wanted. Everything about this salon is great. Rob and the other receptionists are always friendly and quickly acknowledge your arrival, and offer a beverage from water to cappuccino to beer and wine. The stylists and assistants are well educated and receive training constantly on the newest products and techniques. The chairs are comfortable and the shampoo bowls are the best you'll ever feel. The time spent is a pleasure, and I get compliments all the time on my hair. I have zero hair skills so I know these compliments are really for Michelle and the fantastic assistants at Dean Anthony! Ps they will feed your parking meter too so you don't have to worry about a ticket. Update: the continuing education among the staff is evident with every client. They always come up with solutions to whatever hair problem you may have from gray touch ups to chlorine pool discoloring, and have a variety of products they are well versed in use and purpose. Prices on products went down recently as well. Everyone is so eager to make your time as pleasant as possible! read more

I've been coming to Dean Anthony Salon for almost 2 years regularly for haircuts and Brazilian blowouts and couldn't be more content. COVID times have been rough but the salon has been super attentive about rescheduling appointments and keeping their clients informed on all reopening protocols. I'm loyal to Will, who has real talent to taming frizzy unruly hair. My hair is SO manageable for months after my blowout appointments. Will has also cut and given me styling tips for multiple hair style changes...long, short, bangs...I always walk out satisfied with my new style. I highly recommend you giving this salon a try...you won't be disappointed! read more

The customer service at Dean Anthony Salon is second to none! Last year I had gotten a cut and color with Jessica and absolutely loved it and her! Due to our days off being the same, it was difficult to get an appointment with her after that, so I waited awhile to book another appointment. When I found out that I was going to get a Saturday off where I knew Jessica would be working, I immediately called and wrote to Dean Anthony to see if Jessica was available. They told me she was completely booked that day; even double booked. So I explained my situation, plus on top of that I was leaving for 5 weeks out of the country the next day. They told me they would look into it and have Jessica take a look as well. Sure enough, Rob called me back to tell me they worked things around and could fit me in. I was ecstatic! For most businesses, or people in general, a simple "no" would have been the easiest thing to do, but Dean Anthony went above and beyond to try and fit me in. It felt really good. Jessica and her assistant, Diana, took such great care of me. They were so attentive and made being double booked look easy! Jessica listens to what you want and does exactly that. I love how confident she is and the end results are amazing. I love my balayage hair and cut. Plus Diana gives amazing head massages when shampooing! Thank you Dean Anthony! read more

Had my first visit at the salon today and could not be happier. Scheduling my appointment and checking in was a breeze. The salon is decorated very sophisticated but comfortable and very very clean. I saw Stanley Thompson for my cut and color. He was very attentive to listening to what I wanted, letting me know what would work best for my hair, and making me feel comfortable in his hands. He did an AMAZING job on my balayage and cut . For the first time in a very long time, I was thrilled with my salon results and felt I got not just what I had asked for but even better. Stanley was excellent at letting me know each step he was doing and why, especially during the styling phase, in which he walked me thru step by step how to receive the same results on my own. I Have already scheduled my next appointment and will be bringing my husband in for his next cut. Happy happy happy!:) read more

Wow! I walked by this salon a few times before I finally walked in to check out what they do. The Gal behind the desk gave me a run down on the services and a short tour. ( did I mention she looked as though she stepped out of one the trendy magazines that littered the waiting area?) I was sold the moment I saw the flat screen TVs mounted behind the mirror in each stylist's station, The prices were a big selling point too...I had been spending 5 more bucks for a hair cut every 6-7 weeks at another salon in Long Beach without half the ambiance! MY first service at this classy establishment was a 7 towel shave. I quickly started to understand why broads seem to look forward to going to the Salon. I was taken care of and pampered in a way that i thought was exclusive to the rich and famous. I entered with 2 days of facial hair growth, when left I my face felt as soft as baby skin! My Next Visit was equally as rewarding! I met my new stylist Jen/jenny/jennifer. She was very personable and I felt comfortable leaving my looks into her care. I was not surprised when all was said and done that i received much complements on the new do. I have been returning every 6-8 weeks for the past 1 1/2 years. Today I brought My 8yr old son who wants to grow his white blonde hair long. He hasn't had a touchup for 6 months, so his hair was quite scraggely. I told him last night I wanted to take him to have a trim on his hair so that it grows out long better. He was excited to go to the same salon as dad (Truthfully, I told him they have video games and a TV in the mirror) Everyone at the salon treated him like a prince, especially Jen! Finally, if you are looking for a place that caters to Men, in every way shape and form...THIS IS THE PLACE. read more

I started going to Dean & Anthony about 6 months ago when I needed a hair cut. I just happened to be placed with Nassim. I have curly hair so it's always a challenge to find someone who knows how to cut curly (as I like to also wear it straight). Nassim did an AMAZING job but then she gave me an AMAZING blowout! She does the beach curls with the round skinny brush (and didn't use a curling iron) and my hair stayed that way for 5 days and I didn't brush it once. So I kept going to Nassim for blowouts and then she would gloss my hair to take out the brass. She did such a good job I started to have the confidence to go to her for color. BEST decision I've ever made. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and it came out EXACTLY like the picture. I'm not exaggerating as I am extremely picky with my blonde. Nassim is an artist and a humble one at that. She is so sweet and her quite demeanor is just endearing. read more

I've been a client here for over 5 years. This was originally marketed as a guy's place for haircuts with sports tv at every station and screens around the salon. Having a great stylist plus that market niche made it unique. It has morphed over time to accommodate men and women. Although its marketing strategy has changed there remains a friendly staff, cool decor and great service. Everyone here is good. I'm not gonna post my stylist's name for fear of not being able to book an appointment. Trust that my hair is ALWAYS perfect when I leave. And the post cut facial is the best. read more

David has been cutting my hair since my first appointment at Dean Anthony which was given to me as a gift. Since I like a little camouflage to feel a bit younger than my true age I can't just go to any barber shop. I hate being between two ladies who are getting their tips or highlights or whatever. When I first went to Dean Anthony it was for men only. Never felt so comfortable getting my hair cut and colored. Now that women are allowed I still get a great cut and camo from David who cuts only the guys. I feel just as at home since there are still so many men getting their hair cut here. Even though the ABC made them stop serving complimentary beer and wine it's still the best place for a man to get his hair cut in this town. read more

It was with a sense of profound destiny that I first discovered this hidden gem, drawn in by the enigmatic and stylish exterior that sports the magnificent letter "O"--a symbol that I have since come to realize stands not just for Oscar, the proprietor of this fine establishment, but for the "Outstanding," the "Overwhelming," and the "Otherworldly" delight that awaits within. From the moment I first engaged the services of the miraculous Cathy, a true virtuoso of the shears who seems to possess the telepathic ability to discern one's innermost hair desires before they are even spoken, I was irrevocably hooked on a level of service that far surpasses the sterile pretension of even the most prestigious salons in Beverly Hills. My hair, which is a formidable and unruly entity characterized by a thickness and coarseness that would daunt a lesser stylist, is here tamed and coaxed into a state of sublime magnificence through the technical wizardry and tender manipulation of the entire team, resulting in a masterpiece that I am proud to wear upon my head each time I depart. But the magic of Studio O extends far beyond the cut and color; it is an immersive sensory experience where one is enveloped in warmth from the moment of arrival, greeted not as a customer but as a long-lost companion by Oscar and his talented cadre of artists. Let me start by saying that Dean Anthony is hands down the best! I started going to Dean Anthony when they first opened and have been back once a month, every single month for over 3 years. That is of course up till now, I just moved out of state and am very bummed about having to find a new place. So, I would like to say a few words about what a great experience Dean Anthony has been for me... The owner - Scott, is a genuinely nice guy. You can tell that he has a passion for his business and loves what he does. Scott actually remembered my name and chatted with me every time he saw me - I don't recall the owner of any business knowing my name, ever! He would randomly comp things for me and give out a few samples here and there. Classy place, friendly, professional staff and a quality product - just for men... Scott - Love your place, keep up the great work! Receptionist Extraordinaire Kelly - It's always great to get a phone call reminding me of when my appointment is because I have a terrible memory. Never once did I actually hold on to the kind, little reminder they gave me in time for my next cut. Of course this would always lead to me having to change my appointment, and as usual, Kelly always found a spot for me... Then, whenever I would arrive, Kelly always greeted me with a big smile and offered me a complimentary drink... perfect! Lisa is the best stylist - period. She has cut my hair perfectly for 3 years and has been a great person to get to know over the years. I never once felt rushed, even though I seemed to run late for every appointment I made. I know for a fact that I am very particular about my hair and yet not one time did I feel like I was asking too much. Lisa is professional, friendly and of course, very talented. I know that I'll never find another stylist as great as Lisa. Plus, we like all the same teams... Go Lakers! Go Saints! Go SC! Down with the Dodgers! Thanks for everything Dean Anthony - Please build your next place here in Vail, Co! All the best, -Harry read more

I am beyond happy to be writing this review. I came in 3 weeks ago and unfortunately, the hair cut I got was terrible... BUT, once Rob got wind of my dismay he went over and beyond to fix the situation. He called me and we talked about what happened and what was wrong and he assured me that if I came back in they would fix the situation. He was so sweet and made me feel like he really cared about my happiness and wanted me me to feel happy and beautiful with my hair. He set me up with Kyle and said he will make you happy. And will fix the hair situation Assured!!! When I came in today I was hesitant and felt nervous but, the moment I met Kyle, I knew i was in good hands and that Rob found me my hair match! Kyle, is not only an absolutely wonderful person with a great personality he is a hair magician. A truly talented man with unbelievable skills. He walked me through all the steps and if I'm being honest, made me feel so special, he made me feel like we had been friends forever and that he was invested in my happiness. Needless to say I walked in nervous, full of apprehension and feeling blah... Walked out feeling like a new confident beautiful woman!!! He not only gave me a great hair color he also gave me the exact cut and style hair cut I was looking for. I want to thank Rob and Kyle from the bottom of my heart for helping me and caring about my hair and happiness. I also want to say that the customer service I received from this salon (especially from Rob) was truly amazing!!!! I will be coming back 100%. read more

Once you find a guy for a good haircut.... I've lived in So. Cal for 3 years now, and one of the worst things for me is having to find a new haircut guy when I move to a new town. I'm one of those guys that's willing to pay a few extra bucks for a good haircut, because lets face it, I'll spend a few extra bucks for a nice pair of jeans or a shirt so i look good, so why the hell am I going to pay some yuk yuk to butcher my head to save some dough when I have to wear that every single day! Anyway, I bounced around from cheapo shop, to pricey shop, to friends of friends, etc. since moving out here, and never really had a 'guy' i can trust. Hell in my last town I went to the Wal Mart to get my haricuts because i figured, "hey, they have a ton more people coming through here daily, so i'll bet they have more experience," and hey i had a gal that did it great. In other words I'll go anywhere for a good haircut, as long as it's consistent and good! Nick is my guy now. He rocks! I have had my hair cut by him about 6 times in a row now, and in that time i've had long hair and short hair, and he's always hit the bull on the nose. The Man on the Go Deal is great because it isn't really expensive at all, and you can knock back a Stella while talking about surfing with Nick. I've reffered lots of friends here, and now i figure i may as well refer lots of strangers as well. Don't take my word for it, look at all the 5 star reviews! read more

A neighbor of mine has a great haircut, and when I asked where she got it done, she told me Michelle at Dean Anthony. Well, Michelle's schedule was packed, so they asked me if I'd like to see Stanley, that everyone in the salon is trained by Michelle. So, I decided to give it a try with Stanley. Well, when I got there, Stanley had already spoken with Michelle about my neighbor, and her cut, and how it might work on me. He had a ton of great insight about the cut I wanted in regards to my facial structure, lifestyle, etc. As a recovering tomboy, I have often felt out of my element in a fancy salon, but Stanley was welcoming and attentive to my concerns. He was so thorough, and really listened to my questions and suggestions, and then suggested options for me. The consultation alone lasted 20 minutes - if only I could get my doctor to talk to me for that long! Throughout the dye and haircut, he explained what he was doing, and why. He also took a ton of time showing me how to recreate my finished hairstyle at home. Most importantly, the haircut and color looked great. I haven't felt this good about my hair in a long time. Yes, the salon is expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for, and Stanley's magic scissors are worth it. read more

Dean Anthony is an excellent salon. From the moment you walk in, you are treated in the best manner. Whether you are a first time client or returning customer, you will be greeted with a warm smile and offered a complimentary drink (including beer and wine) while you wait for your service to begin. The atmosphere is very calming, and all staff members are welcoming and professional. The hair cut service is truly second to none. Your hair cut includes a shampoo, conditioning treatment, and complimentary mini facial. David, my stylist, will also use a straight razor to trim your neckline and sideburns. Ask for him, he is great! For a real treat, try the modern man shave. You will walk out beardless and completely relaxed. Overall, this is the best place to get any salon and spa treatment that I have ever visited. The people are friendly, the prices are more than reasonable, and the service cannot be beaten. The receptionists remember your name after your first visit. This is true service! If you want a memorable experience that will make you a repeat customer, go to Dean Anthony. read more

As one who fears change of hairstylists, I can tell you that the Dean Anthony experience is remarkable. I was given a gift certificate as a birthday present a few years ago. I was content in my 10 year relationship with my hairstylist so I viewed going to Dean Anthony as a special treat. I have never looked back. The staff is focused on the attention to details and customer service that define great. You actually feel that they want you to be happy and look good when you leave. On my first visit I was assigned to Jenny and I can't say enough about how she listened to what I wanted and has consistently delivered great quality haircuts and personalized service. Even more important to me has been how she masterfully has guided me though the aging evolution to keep a great look. Dean Anthony is all about quality packaged in a great experience. I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Dean Anthony Hair Salon for a hair gloss service with Becky, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Becky is an absolute gem--her professionalism, skill, and warm personality made the entire experience a dream. What do you do when your daughter gives you a gift certificate to a "foo-foo" hair salon for men? I was not a frequenter of such establishments, frankly not interested in being pranced around and leaving with a haircut that would surely get me beat-up at the wrong bar. Or the crap-shoot of a good cut at Supercuts. At her insistence, I gave Dean Anthony's a shot. Greeted by friendly, normal people and a cold beer, I thought maybe this was the better mousetrap. Next, I met Nick, received one of the best haircuts ever, and saw the end of the game I was watching on one of the many screens covering the place. Finally the barber shop steps up from Mayberry. Great concept, great hair cuts, (most important) normal people and a place a guy can feel comfortable, even while having some kind of goo rubbed on their face while watching sports on the ceiling as you sip your favorite beverage. A lot of good things can be said about this place! Having thick and straight hair, I have always found it kinda difficult finding a stylist and/or shop that could give me a good clean haircut without paying an outrageous amount of money. Through the years, I could tell quickly who who knew what they were doing and the others who either didn't or simply did a half ass job. Anyways, I have to say that after my first visit at Dean Anthony's, I am very satisfied with my cut and will definitely go back. My stylist was Alexandra and she both understood her craft and was pleasant conversation. Super bonus points for all the extras they offer, including snacks, drinks (I had a Red Bull although there was also beer and other goodies), video games for longer jobs, etc. Basically, they do what they can to make your visit as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Anyways, I have definitely found my place in Long Beach:-) read more

There's not much I can say that numerous other reviews of Dean Anthony haven't already touched upon. From an envionment truly designed for a man to be comfortable to uber high quality services, I couldn't be happier that I finally decided to give this place a try. I've had several haircuts from Briana and she does a fantastic job each and every time. Often times I've found stylists to get lazy after the first few appointments and take your business for granted, but I haven't found that to be the case with either Dean Anthony or Briana. Every time I have an appointment, everyone goes out of their way to make me feel like a truly valued customer. Everyone goes out of their way to provide those extra amenities which make the experience awesome each and every time. I can't say enough good things about this business, and hope they continue to impress, because I intend on being a client for a long time! read more

It's been a little over two years now that I've been going to Dean Anthony. I have never seen anyplace like it and am a completely satisfied customer. My stylist is David and I normally get the Men's Classic Cut, but have on several occasions gotten the Modern Man shave (David also). I recommend looking over their website because they provide many services way beyond what I'd ever use myself (www.deananthonylb.com). From the modern design of the salon, to the LCD TVs at each station, to the way you are treated from the moment you come in the door, this place is all class. It is more than a haircut. There are elements of a spa experience built in that bring the haircut to an entirely different level...one that is definitely worth the price. David is beyond great at what he does and it feels to me like he really tries to improve on perfection every time he gives me a haircut. read more

I've been to a lot of salons, barber shops, and the like, and I've finally found a home at Dean Anthony. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best of both worlds. The atmosphere is very cool, and very chill. Very professional staff, TVs everywhere, good coffee (and a very tempthing PBR keg, one of these days I'll have to go later to see if that actually works). Tons of product if you like to get the good stuff. They have the basic service so you can look good without paying out the nose, but I strongly recommend getting a classic cut - man, it is relaxing. But plenty of services to choose from. Jenny does a great job with my unruly mop of hair, and she works morning hours so I get in and get my hair cut and get on with my day. Definitely recommend Dean Anthony, and Jenny in particular. So go get a haircut! read more

I've read all these reviews and had to see for myself if what they say is true. Well, it absolutely is! I walked in and was greeted by the girl at the front desk. She offered me a beverage and some snacks. I had arrived early for my appointment and was offered a complimentary chair massage from the massage therapist. It was only 5-10 minutes, but it was a way to sample the service. It was a great teaser! When it was time for my appointment, my stylist sat me in the chair and did exactly what they say they do: beverage, consultation, shampoo, cut, rinse (If you're down for the Classic Cut, this is when they offer a complimentary hot towel treatment), and style. I've been to places that charge $20-$50 for a haircut, but they do not compare to the quality service you receive at Dean Anthony. Check it out! read more

This is a one-of-a-kind place as far as I am concerned! ALL the folks that work there are super friendly, VERY EASY on the eyes, and to top it off: ya get pizza, a beer and your favorite movie while you get your groom-on. From a straight edge shave to a "most-cool-coiff" ...the folks at Dean Anthony are consummate professionals. But I just have to stop down and give the mad props to my main man: Big Nick Pasqua, the Jersey Kid. Nick is a smooth operator that knows how to sling the shears, and every time I get my doo adjusted by Nick, my wife of 26 years, signs up for another 2-3 years. Hey Nick...You keep cutting my hair as good as you do, It'll keep me coming back, Betty won't divorce me, and life will be GRAND! Don't you change your ways, Boy! read more

look no farther than Dean Anthony's on 2nd St to get your hair cut! I mean a salon that has TVs in every station, and a few with gamer consoles how can you go wrong. The atmosphere is fantastic perfect guy hangout if it wasn't a salon. You actually don't feel like a sissy waiting to get your hair cut. Now my stylist of choice is definitely Jenni! Shes the best! Beautiful and brilliant with a pair of scissors. She treats my hair like Picasso would a painting. She's an artist. So go and ask for Jenni, sit back relax and let a master go to work. I highly recommend Dean Anthony's its the best place to get your hair cut. The only recommendation I have to make this the ultimate guy salon... Bikini's... just a thought... enjoy read more

I have lived in Long Beach for three years and until recently, gotten my hair cut at Super Cuts because, well, they are inexpensive. It wasn't until the past year when it finally dawned on me that my haircuts weren't complimentary of my head shape and I always got a different stylist. So, I checked out Dean Anthony on Second Street. What a great place for a guy! They offer you an imported beer - a nice touch after a working day - and a great haircut, loaded with extras - several washes, cleansing facial wash, etc. I get my hair cut by Nick who is a great guy and listens to what I want and makes good suggestions. I now go regularly and would highly recommend Dean Anthony to any guy who wants to be treated right. read more

I absolutely love getting my hair done by Baky! She is seriously the sweetest and always has such a positive, welcoming energy. I have very long, thick hair, and she did an amazing job with my haircut. She really took her time and made sure everything looked beautiful and exactly how I wanted it. And the hair washes?! THE BEST. So relaxing and honestly one of my favorite parts of the appointment! Baky is incredibly talented, professional, and just an absolutely lovely person. You can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I highly recommend her for haircuts, blowouts, and hair coloring. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your hair, definitely book with Baky! read more

great new find in L.B.! i love this salon for men. i have never had such great customer service while getting a haircut. everyone in this place is so friendly. so that alone, is worth the trip back. the real reason i will be going back to dean anthony's is the simple fact of the percission haircut i received by Wendy (i think that's her name) . she is amazing. wow, what an artist. i can't believe that it is only 40 bucks for this service with her. if you ever get a chance to get your haircut with her , please don't pass it up. i hope i remembered her name (cute, funky, tattoos) . thanks to everyone at dean anthony for making chore of getting my haircut into an appt. that i look forward too. read more

Simply put, there is no other salon like it. Dean Anthony has set the benchmark for the quintessential 'guy' experience when going to a salon. From skin to hair, from beer to fare. Whether it be for a no frills - that's hardly tacky - 'man on the go', an indulgent facial - "I've given over 5,000 facials, this is the first time I will get one." (Ron Jeremy), a relaxing rub and deep tissue, or any combination of the several stellar services on tap, you will not be disappointed. A minimalist aesthetic, immaculate presentation and charming front desk personnel. Let Jenni, Alicia, Lizzie and the gang sort you out, shape you up and get you feeling better than 110%. This is manly-living at it's finest. read more

On top of that, it's always a great atmosphere and an enjoyable experience every time I visit. For the past six months, I've been growing my hair out for my wedding, and Desmond has been helping me shape it every step of the way. Which is not a problem but she DIDNT mention this in the phone !! As well as on the maps it states they do accept this form of payment . I understand that most salons are cash only but it's very upsetting that I already spoken to Holly on the phone and she didn't mention that they are cash only salon that is very unprofessional on their part! As as well as if I booked an appointment with Holly why would she not perform my services and give me to another stylist who is already busy with another client. I found the salon very unprofessional!!!!
