We had even more examples of their crooked service in 2019. We took the 2015 Civic in for inspection and the tech told us the tires wouldn't pass. We told him we would take it to Costco because they include road hazard and actually stand behind their products. So we drove straight to Costco and purchased new tires. Their guy called us while we were waiting to say our tires were fine and he could not in good faith replace our tires! He refunded our money. I took the 2010 Fit in for inspection a few months later and got the same story. I insisted they prove their assertion and I did indeed need tires replaced. I reluctantly had them done at the dealer. Driving home from Cleveland a few days later I nearly lost a wheel! I had to limp to a dealer and explain my situation. They agreed to check them and found all four wheels loose and one ready to fall off, all with corrosion which should have been ground off as part of the outrageous price they charged. The Service Agent is very nice, however, this is my 2nd recent visit to the Service Department both times with a scheduled appointment that I waited over 2 hours. Before these visits, I was always informed of the progress on the vehicle. Not the case past 2 times. If you are getting work done here, be prepared to wait. There were positives, negatives, and suggestions that I have when dealing with Dean Honda: Positives: Jimmy was nice to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicles and I never thought I was being taken advantage of throughout the process. Negatives: We discovered a dent and a scratch on the passenger side of the vehicle. This was frustrating because it is a brand new vehicle and it showed that Honda did not go through any final checks at the time we purchased the car. Honda did agree to fix the problem but they would not give us a loaner car in the meantime. To me, this just shows how service from the dealership really ends once you have purchased the car. Once they have your money, they don't really seem to care about the customer which truly is a shame. I thought I would be without my brand new car for one day but they sent the car to a third party body shop. This makes it even more frustrating that the dealership would not offer a loaner car when it was their negligence to begin with that caused this issue. Suggestion: Definitely check out other Honda dealerships. The South Hills Honda is not far from this location. I recommend checking them out. The reason is because Dean Honda made an accounting error when calculating our payments. The only reason we caught it and were able to fix it was due to the fact that we had a comparable from South Hills Honda. If we didn't have that, we would have been down forty dollars a month on our payments. read more

If you are looking to buy a used car from the West Mifflin, Pa dealership do not use DOMINICK INFANTE, he agreed to pay for an item for the car that I purchase and when the time came he would only pay for half and when I told him that I would take this up with his boss he got very angry and said go ahead they all love me here and called me a very bad name. On May 25, 2015, I located a Toyota Rav4 on AutoTrader.com. The vehicle was located at Dean Honda. Because Dean Honda was located more than an hour and a half from our home, my husband called the dealership to inquire about it. After talking with Amy, we decided that it was a vehicle we would like to pursue further. Amy told us to ask for Kelsey when we arrived. Approximately two hours later we arrived at Dean Honda. We entered the dealership and asked the receptionist, who was surrounded by three service technicians in blue t-shirts who were talking loudly about personal chatter, if we could see Kelsey. Kelsey was outside on the front sidewalk eating a hot dogMy husband pleasantly said that we could wait until she finished lunch but the receptionist said that Kelsey was going to the Pirate game that night and could eat later. (ummm, okay ... why did I need to know this?) Kelsey introduced herself. My husband told her what vehicle we were there to see and Kelsey informed us that the vehicle was not at the location where Amy had invited us to see it, but rather it was two miles away at Dean Honda's "other" location. Kelsey gave us driving directions to the location and we proceeded there. When we arrived at the "other" location and entered the showroom, we were greeted by sales man who said "what can I do for you?". My husband told him that we were there to see the Rav4 that was advertised on AutoTrader. The salesman immediately informed us that the Rav4 we were inquiring about was not for sale as it had a bad transmission. We pointed out to the salesman that it says no such thing on the AutoTrader listing, and I expressed how upset I was that we had just driven an hour and a half to look at this car. The salesman, who told us his name was Mike, said "It is because that girl down there doesn't bother to pick up a phone and call up here to find out what is going on!". My husband expressed his frustration and told Mike that, as the customer, we don't care whose fault it is or who is suppose to call who, what we care about is that we drove an hour and a half to look at a car that was advertised on AutoTrader, that we specifically called and talked to Amy about that morning, that THEY KNEW was not even available for sale. Mike said that the problem was at the other location and that if we wanted to complain we should go there. My husband and I got back in the car and drove to the original location. When we walked into the showroom Kelsey greeted us and said, "Was it not up there?". My husband did not answer her question but instead asked to speak to a manager. Kelsey said, "absolutely" and left to go retrieve a manager. Approximately six minutes later a gentleman approached my husband and I and introduced himself as Rick. We explained to Rick what had just occurred. Rick's response, "that guy up there doesn't communicate with us. He should be calling us to tell us when a car isn't available". My husband said, "listen, we don't care whose fault it is, we just want someone to know what happened today". Rick said, "If you want to complain, you should be complaining to the guy 'up there'". I thought he was pointing to an office upstairs so I said, "well get him down here and I will be happy to tell him about our experience today". Rick said, "no, the guy at the other location". I said, "funny you should say that because HE told US that if we wanted to complain we should come here because it was your fault. Rick's response was ... and this is a direct quote ... "If that son of a bitch would pick up the phone and call us we wouldn't have this problem". Lovely, huh? Just lovely. My husband told Rick that their problems are not our problems. All we care about was that they wasted our day when we could have been at other dealerships looking at cars. My husband and I both agreed and told Rick that we would never buy a car from Dean Honda .. EVER .. and that we would tell everyone we meet about our experience. Rick said he was sorry about what had occurred and said that if it helped at all, he would be "personally escalating the situation". We shook Rick's hand and left. As I promised Rick at Dean Honda, I will NEVER buy a vehicle from them and I will tell EVERYONE about my experience. read more

Absolutely terrible service and support. When we purchased our "certified used" CRV here two years ago, we were promised that the certified vehicles are of the highest quality and standards. Within 3 hours, our tire pressure light was on. We took it back and they "fixed" the sensor. Fast forward and three times within the past two years we have had to pay to have the sensor replaced again and again, as they claim this is the issue. Recently, on top of this nonsense, we took to car in to have a headlight replaced and inspections/emissions done. The car passed emissions but they did not replace the headlight. How did the car pass inspection without a headlight? Now, we have to waste yet another day and more money to go back and have it replaced, and guess what? The tire pressure light is on again as well. Do yourself a favor and drive 15 miles down the road to South Hills Honda. DO NOT buy anything or have your vehicle serviced at Dean Honda. They are crooks. read more

I recently called Dean Honda because my wife broke her tail light on her CRV. They wanted $260 for the two parts and $102 to put it in. I found the ASE certified parts on the internet for $148, and watching U tube, saw it was only 3 bolts, which took my wife and I ten minutes to do. We saved over $200. Later when I was going to sale my car, I had to deal with the finance department to get money that was owed to me for a warranty I purchased when I got the car. This was like pulling teeth! No one answers emails or returns calls. When I went to the dealership, I was even told I had to come back on a different day. These people are just plain rude and incompetent. There would be no reason me to have to deal with them for two months for an issue that should have taken a few days at the most. Hope you never have to deal with the finance department there if you do need anything. They will keep you waiting because they just do not want to do their jobs. 2 weeks after purchasing my Mercury Sable 2000, I already had my engine coil burn out.I had a 30 day warranty so they fixed that. Over the past 9 months I already put over 4 grand on fixing it and the car was only $3600. My transmission needs rebuilt and the cost for that is 2300 dollars, I tried calling honda but they keep telling me to call back at a better time. I cant testify to the sales but the service is very poor. I have had numerous issues - once they forgot to tighten the lug nuts and we nearly wrecked in RT 51 with my kids in the car. I always seems to have to run right back in because they forgot to do something, like set a code, etc. It's ALWAYS something. Bunch of buffoons. I bought a Certified Pre-Owned car in July 2014 and have already had to replace stabilizer links and brake pads and just recently had to replace the battery (not even 1.5 years after purchasing). They didn't have my second key at the time I purchased the and said they would mail me one. I had to call them multiple times to finally receive my key. I also had to contact them multiple times to get my free xm radio trial activated. I emailed the company to complain stating that I paid a premium buying a Certified Pre-Owned car hoping these types of issues wouldn't happen so soon. The person I corresponded with was friendly enough but basically told me sorry about your luck. I would not recommend this dealership to those in the used car market. read more

The buying experience wasn't horrible. I saw the car I wanted online, told them I wanted to test drive it and left about two hours later. Was pressured into a one year warranty and was told to call if I needed anything. About six months later the car began to stall intermittently. I called to talk to the head technician and he asked what the problem was. I described it and he told me the fee for checking it. Then he told me that if they can't find the problem or it's not covered by the warranty I'm essentially SOL. So I decided to research the problem on my own and came up with nothing. Now I have a car that doesn't work only eight months after buying it and they won't return my phone calls...I give them a two because my salesman, Joe, was a decent guy. read more

I have not purchased a vehicle from Dean, but I go to them exclusively for service, including for my Subaru and Mazda. The service department here seems to be efficient and well managed. They take your car when scheduled, do a good job, don't try to sell you work you don't need, complete the work quickly, and charge reasonable fees. I'm very particular with my cars and I just trust these guys. Again, I have no experience with the sales side, but if they sell cars with the same no hassle philosophy as the service department, I'd buy from them without hesitation. read more

On 10/13/2016 I drove my Honda CRV to Dean Honda for a scheduled replacement of the recalled airbag. I've purchased 2 Honda's from Dean in the past and have always had ALL the service done there. Upon arrival and check-in I was looking at new vehicles when the service tech came and informed me that even though I had been contacted by service and they had scheduled the vehicle for service---they did NOT have the parts. Stopped in at Dean Honda because the Key to my Honda was broken. I was traveling and staying in the area and this was the closest Honda Dealer to my hotel. I never really felt like anyone in part or service was really interested in helping me. The kept asking if I had purchased the Vehicle here and if I was interested in having it serviced. When I told them that I only need help with a replacement key, I was once again ask if I had purchased the vehicle from them. They quoted me a a price close to $200 for cutting, programming and service labor. I Got the distinct impression that since I was from out of town they saw an opportunity to inflate the price, and since I had not purchased the vehicle from them they were in no way interested in helping me. I wouldn't say that the staff was exactly rude, just that they were not friendly and really just going through the motions of offering customer service. read more

I lease a 2016 Honda Civic, currently with 30k miles. Last week the A/C started blowing hot air. It was due for an oil change so I dropped it off for both. I received a call from Fred, the service adviser, who requested approval to commence the dye test on the compressor to check for leaks. The out of pocket cost was to be $249 and if found to be an issue under warranty, then I would be reimbursed. After I approved, I found that the A/C issue is a known problem for this model, but not a recall by Honda, therefore, an issue not covered by a warranty or Honda, even though recharges to any car are infrequent, especially for a 2 yr old car. It was confirmed no leaks and that it was just a recharge and I owed the $249. Ready to have another dealer write a check to Honda to payoff the car and go elsewhere, I voiced my frustration to Fred, about Honda, not Dean. He listened and was very compassionate. Fred spoke to the GM and as a courtesy, waived the fee for the test and recharge. Needless to say, I was speechless and overwhelmed by the level of customer service received.
