On January 21st, we purchased a new vehicle after a friend of my husband's recommended going to Kenny Ross Subaru when he was interested in purchasing a new-to-him CRV as a daily driver. We were greeted promptly by John, and ended up working with Vinnie. Both guys were really friendly. After searching through some vehicles, my husband decided a 2016 CRV that they came across would be a good fit. Vinnie went up to Aunt Penny's (since it was not on the lot) and we all went for a test drive. After he decided to purchase the car, we were sent to work with Dave, who handles financing. Dave showed us some videos of popular add ons and features, and my husband was only interested in an extended warranty. Dave did not seem pushy, and it seemed like a fairly painless process. The only thing he did ask, however, was for us to rate him on Google while we were going over paperwork. Fast forward until the next day: my husband went over his paperwork again as he was filing it, and noticed a ton of charges that were unfamiliar. Among these charges were roadside assistance, some kind of key replacement plan, and gap insurance (just to name a few). He did not consent to these, so he called first thing Monday morning. He was unable to get ahold of Dave, so he reached out to John, and Dave called him back days later. When he finally did call, he was very difficult to deal with, trying to talk my husband out of changing his mind and keeping the unwanted charges. My husband declined, and Dave, who was obviously irritated with this, said he would send out new paperwork to be signed, and threw in a facetious remark saying "I'm a notary. Don't worry it'll be free." As of today, February 26th (a MONTH later)the paperwork has yet to arrive. Even worse- and most importantly-the brakes shouldn't have passed inspection. The day we test drove the car, it was freezing so we didn't have the windows down, and Vinnie was talking in the car with us the entire time so we couldn't hear any external noise. The front pair barely passed inspection, and the back were metal on metal. Passing a car with brakes in this condition is illegal in Pennsylvania, and there's absolutely no way this car should've been sold prior to having a change of brakes. The car was only inspected in January 2023 (same month as he purchased it), and how someone overlooked this HUGE safety hazaard befuddles me. The screeching became increasingly louder over the next few days when weather permitted us to roll down the windows, and luckily, we caught before anyone was seriously injured or killed. John is aware of the brake situation, but it took almost a month of my husband trying to get ahold of Dave for him to call today. He had no idea what the situation was about, according to the voicemail he left. We are super disappointed in how our experience went, and will never again purchase from- or recommend- Kenny Ross Subaru.

Bought this gem from Lane!

After a "typical car salesman" experience a little up the road, we decided to try Kenny Ross Subaru. Lane was not only not your typical car sale, but it was clear through the entire process that his biggest priority was getting us a great deal on a good vehicle. I can't say enough about what a good experience he made this be for us. If you are considering any of the Kenny Ross vehicles, go see Lane at Kenny Ross subaru!

Where do I start? I bought a 2016 wrx with 110k miles off these guys! Recipe for disaster right? That couldn't be farther from the truth! These guys will bend over backwards and walk across a tight rope blindfolded for you. My first issue came with a clutch that needed replaced within the first 3000 miles I put on the car. Used car, bought as is. I knew what I was getting into, yet they still helped me out a ton. Talked with Howard (service manager) we worked out a deal and the car was fixed, got a loaner. Fast and timely! Very well done! Second issue came with a blown motor after putting roughly 10k miles on the car (less than a year of ownership). David Who is a finance manager suggested I buy a warranty from their reputable 3rd party company GWC. Huge shout out to David D for recommending this because they covered the replacement fully. Minus some small things here and there. I was in contact with Mike D a service manager here who was very helpful throughout the entire process. Called me and kept me well informed about the car. Along with Jake K, who was also very helpful in getting me in touch with the correct people I had to talk to! However at the end of the project I was told there was an engine mount that would need replaced/welded after the car was released. Long story short. The service team realized a mistake/misunderstanding was made, they took full accountability and we came to an agreement for repairs that had to be made! I am very thankful for the entire team over at Subaru in North Huntington for helping me throughout my entire experience with them! I will be returning to them for everything! Very satisfied customer 10/10

Well I cannot speak to the sales experience here and really these dealerships on Yelp should have 2 separate listings one for service and one for sales. From all the other reviews you couldn't pay me to come deal with their sales staff. Luckily I didn't. I came to their service department after finding on Facebook an ad they listed for a totally free state inspection and emissions test. I will be honest there was quite a hard time getting in touch with them to confirm the offer and set an appointment. I commented and they said to message them. I messaged them and the person who got back to me first was unsure of the offer at first and then said they would get back to me. Took a few more tries and a phone call before I was told they would call me to set an appointment. I had a pleasant call from one of their service advisors scheduling my appointment. All my info I gave in messenger was apparently not even remotely transmitted to her but all good I was able to look everything up on the fly. She confirmed it was free and would send me a email with appointment. I received the email but it showed that the free inspection was for customers who purchased their vehicle from them but showed cost for the emissions test. I called and the first service advisor I spoke to said yes that it would cost for the emissions test. I told him about the Facebook offer and they had no knowledge of it. I said ok thanks and hung up. Got ahold of their FB team and they said the offer was very real. I called again and spoke to Jake who was aware of the offer and confirmed everything. I came in for inspection and the setup they have is really nice. Snacks and water and coffee. Dual tvs and a nice kids entertainment room. I was really impressed with that. They failed my new 2019 vehicle because of the garbage license plate issued by the state had its cheap laminate came off. By state law they are supposed to pass it for inspection and fill out the form for a free plate to be reissued by the state. However because of double talk listed by the state they use it to call the plate "obscured" at a distance of 10 feet. I drove an hour for that nonsense. The vehicle was safe and passed on all other accounts... They told me any notary public or state police could fill out the form and get me my new plate. I left and called the state police barracks of Greensburg. They said they could not help me. I called a notary and was told they could do it but it would be 30+ minutes before they opened. I said ok and went to get breakfast. I took a bit then headed over to the notary. She took my info and told me she would have to get me a new plate. She finalized everything and then proceeds to tell me it will be almost $80.00. I paid and went back to the dealership. They were kind of shocked to see me. I told them I had gotten a new plate and wanted the sticker applied as that was the only reason it failed to pass. It still took them another 30 minutes to apply a sticker and get it finished up. In the meantime I used the states website on the license plate issue and found that they shouldn't of failed it. Literally on the state's own website in clear and plain English it said it could not be failed for the plate peeling... The master tech Mike printed out his guidelines from PA and showed where if a plate is obscured it fails. I personally think they are following that guideline incorrectly when the state's website says in plain English it cannot be failed for that reason. I was done arguing and being out $80 plus gas, tolls, and half my work day I just wanted to go home. What do I know I guess. Overall, I may use them again. Not sure. At least the inspection and emission offer was real. Honestly I cannot say it was worth all the hassle.

On very rare occasions do I write a negative review, but my experience at this dealership was deceitful and odd to say the least. After finding a vehicle I really liked at a price I loved on a Saturday, I'd agreed with my salesman to come do the paperwork and pick my car up on Monday after they'd had a chance to install a hitch and clean it up for me. My salesman assured me I'd be in and out in no time. When I arrived Monday, my salesman was out for the day. No big deal. After meeting with another salesman, they had a hard time finding my car, and so I did financial work with Mr Valentine who assured me all the work that needed completed, including the hitch installation, had been done. (Another note: when I declined the expanded warranty his tone had changed significantly. At first he'd tried selling me an additional warranty for $2200; but when I said no, he dropped it to $1700... how is that possible?) After waiting nearly two hours for my vehicle, it was finally ready and I was ready to get home, only to find after my hour long drive that there was not a hitch installed. Aggravated due to my hour long commute each way, I texted the sales person who'd helped me that day and he also said they'd "hook me up". I emailed my sales person and received the response attached; regarding my hitch that he was "going to give me out of his storage unit." What?! Strange at best. After a few follow up emails, you guessed it, no hitch, no return calls, but my check sure did clear no problem. From a salesman who told me he'd have everything ready to go (apparently with a hitch from his storage unit) to a financial manager who can knock $500 off a warranty AND promises work has been done without verification, ("hitch was installed, yep") to poor all around follow up I can say with confidence I'll never shop Kenny Ross again.

I went for my free inspection this morning and…read moreI was told that my vehicle would not pass because of a left front strut and an exhaust valve cover. this didn't make sense to me because I had just had the starter replaced 3 weeks ago and the mechanic told me the exhaust valve cover was a slight issue but would definitely pass inspection. the cost to fix it was $1100 and they kindly told me I could apply for a gmc credit card and get $250 off this price. I told them no and immediately took the car to another shop. the car passed inspection in less than an hour without any issues! apparently the free inspection is offered so the service department can fleece you when you get there. I will be reporting this to Penn dot and the PA attorney general.

Do not trust their Service Department…read more TLDR: Charge you $200 to diagnose issue with vehicle, provide incorrect information and then argue with you when you want your $200 back. So here's what happened. Purchased the vehicle in June 2018. Have done the majority of service at the dealership, all fluid changes, few mechanical "shift to park" issues after warranty expired, but nothing major. On 12/13/25 my 2017 GMC Acadia broke down and wouldn't move. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership to at least figure out what the issue was, figuring it's the worse case scenario. Sure enough on 12/15/25, service advisor Mark calls to ask what is wrong...i guess the notes never got to him from when I called in on 12/13 that it was getting towed in. Explained the whole situation of what happened with my vehicle when it stopped moving, said he'd get back to me. A short time later Mark calls back and says, bad news. It's your transmission and it's going to be at a minimum $8,500 and we have no time frame of when it can be repaired. The immediate panic of, well lets find a rental car until I figure out what I am going to do, where else can possible look at the car, who else can I trust, what will it cost. Do I just trade in (they offered me $1000 "as it sits"), sell the car to someone who might want to put the money into fixing it? I just had no real idea what I was going to do. Take a breath and start to call around. Talk to a few mechanics who were recommended to me and some others of what transmission shops are in the area that are trustworthy. They all said the same thing. I don't think it's your transmission, I think you have a broken axle based on everything you have stated. That's a pretty big difference in diagnosis. After a few days of calling around and waiting on some responses I get through to a different garage on 12/19/25. I have the vehicle towed at lunchtime to this shop for them to diagnose the issue, but before the vehicle can leave the lot, I need to pay Riverview GMC $204.05 for their diagnosis on the vehicle. Hate to be out that money but I just want to figure out what I am doing with my car. Vehicle arrives at new shop by 1pm, and within 20 minutes of it arriving, they call me to tell me that right now the issue is a Broken Axle and until the axle is fixed they can't diagnose if there is a problem with the transmission. That shop is upset for me because of bad info from the dealership service, and me I'm not overly pleased either. Shop explains they will replace the axle and then do their tests and we'll go from there. I call Riverview, ask to speak to Mark, to get a better understanding of what was done with the diagnosis. "We hooked it up to the computer, stated the car and it wouldn't move / go into gear." I asked, did you get it pulled into the garage and look under the car to do a visual inspection. "No, the car wouldn't move." I explained that their diagnosis was wrong and that if they got it put onto a lift, they would have seen it was a broken axle. And because of their improper diagnosis, I would appreciated if I could be refunded the $204.05. I was told no. Things got a little heated with Mark, and that is when I got to speak to his supervisor Dave. I started out calm with Dave. Explained the whole story (and if you are still reading, I'm proud of you) and explained that I don't think it's wrong that I be charged $204.05 for an improper diagnosis when the axle has to be fixed before the transmission can be properly evaluated. Dave then asked, if he gives me the money back and if this transmission shop finds and issue with the transmission that I repay them the money, since they technically weren't wrong. My return spin to him was if you properly diagnosed the vehicle, then I would have had it fixed at the dealership and maybe been out a vehicle for a day or two, and not in a rental that I was paying nearly $400 out of pocket for. After a few minutes and a call back from Dave, I did get the $204.05 back from Riverview, and Dave asked that I let him know how things turned out with the other shop, and I did. Remember when I mentioned that the other shop had the vehicle around 1p.m. Well at 4:10 p.m. on 12/19 I get a follow up call from the Transmission Shop that my vehicle axle was replaced and all of the tests they did on the transmission, including driving it around for a while they feel that nothing is out of place. Total cost for their repair. $450.50 and it was done in about 3 hours. Dealership had my vehicle on their service lot for 5.5 days, with no timetable for repair and a minimum $8500 charge. I'm glad I asked around (and would have anyhow) but I just wonder how many people they have taken advantage of at Riverview. I'll never go back there for anything and neither should you or anyone else you know.

The gentleman I spoke with was great and genuinely helpful. The woman I spoke with felt more dismissive, which took away from the experience. When I arrived for my pickup appointment, the rep helping me was friendly and handled everything smoothly. He even gave me recommendations for local mechanics to complete my PA state inspection. I had seen reviews saying some vehicles did not pass inspection, so I took mine in right away. It passed without any issues. My appointment was at 9 AM. By 9:30 there were three other clients waiting and only one rep working. It felt like a scheduling or staffing issue, but even with that I was only there for about an hour to an hour and a half. The truck itself was in good shape and matched the listing. The interior was the real disappointment. It was not detailed at all and placing two paper mats in the front row does not count. There was dirt on the dash and in the cupholders. Almost every hard surface has a white residue on it. Having worked in the automotive industry for six years, I would never let a client drive home in a vehicle that looked like that. I will either have to pay to have it detailed or do it myself, which should not be the case Carvana. The process was convenient and the truck was as described, but the lack of interior detailing and some service inconsistencies kept this from being a higher rated experience.
