This is a great service company. They cleaned my air conditioning ducts which were really, really dirty. We bought the house about 7 months ago and I don't think that the ducts had ever been cleaned -- 10 years of lint and dust in the ductwork. Dean's showed up on time and took about three hours cleaning my air conditioning ducts and dryer vent. I cannot believe the difference in the system's efficiency now. My guess is that my air conditioning system is at least 15% more efficient now. This was a very messy job and David, the tech, was very clean and courteous. The main office was very nice, and was able to get us scheduled quickly. Day of: Justin and his assistant Andy were great. I ordered an HVAC vacuuming w/brushing sanitizing as needed. The vacuuming was $149 + additional for scrubbing in four entry points ($29 per vent) + Sanitizer ($89). The system looks great, and we're hopeful that some of the stale smoke we've been smelling from the previous owner will be mitigated. The whole service took 2 hrs start to finish. I recently purchased my first home and knew the previous owner didn't do a great job cleaning the place, and had a dog. Since my son has a dog allergy, I wanted to get my ducts vacuumed and cleaned. Having no idea who to pick I tried calling a chimney company I found locally. Several calls and emails later, no response. Frustrated, I went to my next option Dean Services. Not only did they pick up the first call, but it sounded like the rep I spoke to was working remotely/at a job site. He made time to chat with me, understand what I wanted, and committed to send me a quote that day. Skeptical, I waited, and sure enough got a quote less than 2 hours later. They came to my house a few days later in a clean branded vehicle and were very personable. They showed me where all of my ducts were, the camera footage, and gave me tips on how to keep them cleaner. Being new to the home, I was still learning about the new(er) heater that was installed and asked the guys if they knew where the filter went because I couldn't find it. They laughed and said the previous owner never put a filter in the heating system so no wonder the vents were so gross!!! They took the time to show me where the filter went in that heater, and told me the system would be quieter and perform better now, but may still need a vacuum out. They said the system looked newer so I could probably just shop vac it and be fine and get it professionally done in a year or so. They weren't pushy at all. I asked them to leave all the vent covers off because I wanted to scrub them, and noticed a few vents they didn't get to. But since they only charge for the ones they did, I wasn't overbilled. It was my fault because they were VERY hidden (one behind a ceiling fan that I missed a few times). I contacted Dean and asked the $ it would be for them to come back and do a few vents I neglected to show them because I didnt know they were there, and their techs would have missed them too. They were very apologetic offering a discount to come back and do them, I told them it was entirely my fault and they still wanted to make it right. Called after a long and stressful afternoon without much in the way of electrical knowhow... but two thermostats that were no longer communicating with the furnace. With below freezing overnight temps and a 1 year old at home I was in a panic and reached out to Dean's... So happy I did! Got a response within minutes. I called and after explaining it a bit they had me go to the HVAC unit, facetime with them and they identified the blown fuse. They had me take it out, walked me through a quick thermostat rewire (a result of my earlier panicked troubleshooting), and sent me to autozone to pick up a new fuse. Now, here I am a few hours later in a well heated house and a whole lotta respect and thanks for Dean's. If you need help, call them. Period. read more

Dean's Service spent 6+ hours working on our unit, broke the fan, told us that the unit needed to be replaced entirely, and charged us $150 for their "work". Another company came to look at the unit and had it running within 20 minutes but we needed to spend $530 to replace the fan that Dean's broke first. Dean's technicians clearly had no idea what they were doing. On the first day Dean's worked on our unit for upwards of 3 hours. They believed that the motor was broken and spent hours trying to fit a new motor in by bashing, sawing, and filing the unit. Neither my husband nor I are familiar with AC repairs and we trusted that the technicians knew what they were doing. Since they were not able to fix the unit that day, they returned a few days later and again worked on the unit for upwards of 3 hours. We watched them bend and twist the fan in an attempt to get the motor working. After successfully replacing the motor, they determined that the entire unit needed to be replaced because the condenser was supposedly broken. They gave us an estimate of about $4,000 for them to return and replace the unit. They then charged us $150 for their "work". We had another company come out to check on the unit. When we told them that Dean's had worked on it for over 6 hours, they were astonished. Within seconds, they noted that whoever worked on the unit before had no idea what they were doing. The new technician immediately determined that the capacitor, which Dean's had replaced, was the wrong piece of equipment. Once the capacitor was properly replaced, the unit worked. There were no issues with the condenser, as Dean's claimed. Therefore, the new company fixed our unit in about 20 minutes with just the cost to replace the capacitor. The fan on our unit was so bent that the unit would stop running in a short amount of time, so the new technician said that it needed to be replaced. The cost to replace the fan was $530. The technicians from Dean's bent and bashed the fan for hours, effectively breaking it beyond repair. Dean's cost us $530 to replace the fan that they broke then had the audacity to charge us $150. We spent about $1,000 for another company to repair the unit, of which Dean's caused $530 worth of damage that we had to pay to fix, plus the $150 that they charged us. Using Dean's cost us $680 and they literally did nothing to the unit except for damage it even further. The technicians from Dean's were clueless. After 6+ hours, they misdiagnosed the problem, broke part of our unit that wasn't damaged before. When we called to address these issues and ask for some money back, the technician was incredibly rude and refused. Terrible. read more

I called another company recommended to me by someone if I was having trouble with my thermostat. For some reason I couldn't get the heat to turn on. The other company said it would cost $130/hr to come look at it and $185/hr if they start working at 3pm or later as this would be the overtime price. They asked no questions and just left it at that. I mentioned my problem to Deans services and Daniel asked me some very basic troubleshooting questions over the phone...he asked if my thermostat ran on gas or electric and I wasn't sure so he texted me his number and asked me to send pics of the heating system. I did and he told me it was gas and since I had my gas turned off to save energy as no one was living in the unit currently, that's why it wasn't working. Very simple and basic and saved me $130 at least. For this reason, if I have any troubles in the future with my thermostat or HVAC, I'm going to Deans. Thank you Daniel! read more

There is no tenant, I am the homeowner. Your technician stated that he didn't have a ladder that went that high and never quoted me any extra fee. There were no other workers going in and out of my home so you are lying. So, now it's a heat wave and although my air conditioner works it needed TLC because it's creating a new lake in my basement! I call my HVAC guys at Dean's Service because they were fantastic when I had a problem with my furnace. They did NOT disappoint! Tyron and Mikal came to my house this time and they fixed the problem (a clogged condensate pipe) in no time. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Customer service for this company sucks! There is none. A man communicates with customers through text all day, and is unprofessional. I paid $412.00 for a welding job! They never used any of their tools to diagnosis my heating issue, just went off of what I thought the issue was. Last time I checked I am a customer paying you the professionals who are suppose to be experts in this field, NOT ME! They had no equipment and had to return to my home because they didn't have a blow torch! I tried to speak with a owner and was blown off. We just bought a house and wanted the air ducts cleaned out. Dean's came out, they used a camera to show me the insides of each vent and let me decide whether or not I wanted them "scrubbed". Be cautious using Dean's Services. Back in January, I was charged $350.00 for service for my heater and the part Dean Service's ordered was NEVER installed. I was told one price and they increased the price so I told them NOT to do it. I was told I would get a refund many times. I called back for my refund and they said the charge was for the part they ordered when they did NOT install it anyways. I have no idea why I was still charged for a part that was NEVER placed in my house. I understand they will charge a service charge because everyone has to make money, but then I was told the full $350.00 was for service call alone. Then, it was a lot of back and forth. Then, I was told again I was charged for the part which cost $350.00, but give me the PART. I was NOT given the part regardless. Then, I was told I was charged a $350.00 service charge. Which one is it? I was never REFUNDED anything or given the part despite a multitude of phone calls which ended in I will call you back. Be mindful of who you are using. I had to hire another company to do the work. It was a very frustrating experience and stressful one. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. read more

After going through months of issues with our furnace, Rick came to the rescue this weekend! We had an emergency call after our AC unit (yes, AC) would not turn off. Rick came out and not only fixed the immediate issue, but was able to solve the problem we consistently had been having all winter --- when our Ecobee was installed, the wiring was not done correctly, which was causing our AC unit to turn on and off all winter long. I was having problems with my central air and called on Saturday (6/10) during the start of a heat wave. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told that someone would be at my home on Monday between 10 and noon. I was called on Monday to be informed that the technicians were on their way. Ben and his team were nothing short of FANTASTIC. The pipework was fixed with all brand new materials, and it looks nice and clean. The air conditioner needed a condenser. They drove all the way to Bensalem after assuring me that they would be back that same day and I would have air before the day was over. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism. The good: the two guys they sent out to replace our water heater in Mt. Airy a couple of days ago seemed to know what they were doing, and the water heater is working properly. You really can't ask for more, can you? The bad: FIRST of all, we were told that they would arrive between 8 and 9 AM; they got here about 9:45. No call letting us know they would be late. SECOND, they seemed to take an awful long time getting it done, about 3 1/2 hours. THIRD: they both asked to use the bathroom, one of them TWICE. I realize that people do occasionally need to go, but they should have taken care of it before coming to our house. FOURTH: they couldn't stop TALKING the ENTIRE time they were here. I mean they couldn't stop YAMMERING. It got so bad that I had to leave the room. (My poor wife!) If they had just shut up and worked, they would have gotten done sooner. Fifth: when they put the regrigerator back ( they had to move it to access the water heater), they didn't replace a board that was used to level the refrigerator (and they even took the board with them, thinking it was junk, I suppose). Now the fridge is very unlevel, and it looks like crap, and I will have to figure out a way to make it level again. Given that the job of replacing a water heater can be done by many other services, I would NOT recommend Dean's Service. read more

I didn't use this provider but I wanted to leave them a review because my interaction with them was so great. I'm having issues with my HVAC system and I put a quote out to different providers. Dean's service responded to my quote which was higher than I was expecting however the owner was so transparent and helpful on other alternatives which would be much cheaper although the alternatives are not offered by them and therefore I wouldn't be giving them service. I really appreciated the advice and honesty on my issue. They wanted to just help me even if that meant no revenue for them. I will definitely keep them in mind for future use if needed. read more
