When it came time to ring up my items, I was totaling the amount as I set them on the counter and she rudely interrupted with "I'll do the counting, thank you." Very nice store, good parking. Great sales but most of the " better" items are same or higher priced than you can buy on line. The employees, in general, are friendly, helpful and professional. The older female cashier is sometimes somewhat friendly but quite often nasty and rude to customers. She has accused customers of switching price tags, including me once, gets nasty if you take a few seconds to get your money out and has zero patience and immediately snaps at customers asking questions. Maybe she should be moved to the back area to do pricing, etc. read more

This was the first Thrift Store I have been to with great prices and good quality stuff! I was so impressed they took my temperature! It's probably because it is run by Boca Regional Hospital. It's located on Meadows Road not far from the hospital. They had some very nice furniture, lots of great dishes, glassware and even jewelry. This was a nice, organized thrift shop. You would probably not find it, unless you were specifically following directions to come here. There was easy parking in the lot out front. It was pretty busy mid week. And the busiest section was the "boutique" where several Boca ladies were avidly looking for designer purses for their latest affair and one woman was seeking accessories for her Purim costume/outfit (!). Inside the set up looked familiar. Is there a thrift store 101 about shelving and traffic flow? But we easily navigated the aisles. We didn't buy anything here, but they certainly had a lot of clothes, and miscellaneous bric a brac, as well as a small area of furniture, lamps and the like. All items are marked or there are signs nearby with prices. There wasn't anything exciting to me here that begged to be taken home, and prices are okay, but who knows... you might find something you can't live without. read more

There was a huge selection from every department.. Prices were fair for a Thrift shop. Remember : Profits go to a good cause ! The furniture was the best value and some looked new or hardly used. This is a great find for a college student's first apartment. Lamps for $10 - large throw pillow $5. Stem Wine glasses or assorted plates $1 each. All puzzels and games $1. Lots of Dollar items among more valuable items The volunteers were helpful and friendly. If you like Garage Sales you will love this place. The Debbie-Rand Memorial Thrift Store has it's roots in a tragedy. In 1962, two local Boca Raton children, Debra Ann (9) and her brother James Randall Drummond (3), were poisoned by a neighbor's teenager who put sodium arsenic in milk and put it in their refrigerator. The children arrived at the hospital alive but by the time the staff had figured out what had happened the children had passed away. At this time Boca Raton had only about 10,000 residents and the nearest hospital was Bethesda Memorial in Boynton Beach. It took the children an hour to reach the hospital due to an accident in the road. The next day after the tragedy the children's father, developer Robert Drummond, and their mother Gloria, pushed for the creation of a hospital in Boca Raton. The Debbie-Rand Foundation was created in August of 1962 when 18 women came to lunch at the Drummond house with the goal to raise money for a community hospital. One in three residents of the city ending up doanting money to create the hospital which opened 5 years later in 1967. The charity has since raised more than $16 million over the past 57 years and Gloria Drummond remained involved until her death in 2011 at the age of 81. Sadly her husband Robert died in 1989 at the age of 58 having never recovered from the loss of his children. Nothing ever happened to the person who poisoned the children and continued to live in the community. Today a picture of the four Drummond children hangs in the hospital lobby. The thrift store started as a small collection of clothes by family friends in memory of Drummond's children. From that humble start began the Debbie-Rand thrift shop which is the organization's primary source of money for the hospitals fundraising. The original shop was housed on East Royal Palm Road in what used to be the city's first church built by Addison Mizner. As an avid lover of thrift because it helps the planet by preventing usable items from ending up in landfills I was excited to pay this storied thrift store a visit. It is staffed by elderly volunteers so keep that in mind. The store is large and filled with household goods, collectibles, clothes, art, and furniture. They have a boutique room with designer clothes. I admired a table in the boutique room and was told rather rudely that they could have sold it a thousand times over and it was not for sale. No problem, if you don't want to sell it stick a sign on it, no need to chase away potential customers. After checking out the really high prices I realized that this store just wasn't for me. I found a cup that matched my grandmothers china but at $12 it was just too steep especially since I had just purchased 14 pieces of china for that price at the Goodwill Boutique in Boca. Other items were priced too high in my opinion. Although this is a worthy organization, items definitely have Boca prices. read more

Their sales were great and the prices were clearly labeled on papers all around the store. I ran out of time while looking for clothes so I will definitely be returning! I don't like going for exams or doctors, however, this is such a nice place. There's no problem finding parking, when you walk inside there's a beautiful piano and artwork. The people at the reception area are warm and friendly, and I like my doctor as well. Going here instead of somewhere else makes my exam and doctor visits a little better for me. read more

I was in the area (I'm local to West Broward) and decided to swing by and give this place a quick visit. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I just love thrifting and wanted to take the opportunity to explore a new shop. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this hidden little gem! Health matters first: there's a hand sanitizing dispenser on the wall as soon as you walk in, and I saw at least one other in the store. All the staff were properly masked, and someone at the entryway checked my temp before letting me proceed to browse. It was slightly difficult to make my way through the store and maintain 6ft apart at all times, given the store layout, but thankfully most patrons were good about not crowding in the same corners and rows and such. I'm not sure if they were enforcing any capacity limits as I wasn't there long enough to notice. The store itself isn't as large compared to your usual goodwill or salvation army, but they still manage to pack a LOT of goods in their space. There are shelves full of glass and kitchenware with many complete sets stacked and priced together, as well as other miscellaneous breakables. I started my perusing in this section. I wasn't expecting to make any purchases since I was on a time crunch, but ten minutes later I had my arms full of awesome finds! Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the whole store and walk the floor a hundred times like I usually do on my treasure hunts. At quick glance I saw a wall full of shoes, rows and rows of clothing for men, women, and children, lots of furniture in great condition, artwork and frames in the back, shelves lined with movies, cds, and some records, a bin full of stuffed animals and plushies, many perfume and cologne options. They seemed to have it all. Pricing seemed a little varied; some items seemed like absolute steals (especially with an additional discount!), while some items seemed a bit overpriced. However, the proceeds do go to a good cause. Not sure if their causes change seasonally, but signs said Boca Raton Memorial Hospital was their recipient. The place is too small to allow for carts and baskets, but they assigned a shelf by the check-out counter to hold and reserve your items until you're ready to pay. I don't think I've seen that in any of the thrift stores I've gone to in my area so I thought that was a nice touch. Staff was friendly and courteous. I was donating brand new clothes with some of the tags still on. There are plenty of other places to donate to so I won't be back to this one. I've been donating my "stuff" here for the last 11 years. They will take all your "stuff", as long as it is not broken, ripped, and is clean. Don't bring them your junk. And you know what junk is. So, I've brought them China, glassware, CD's DVD's, shoes, shirts, pants, suits, jewelry, small appliances, books, luggage, you name it. Gufts i received from people who felt that they had to give me a gift and it was sweet of them but not my taste. I don't like to just throw things in the garbage. I think it's sort of a sin. If is still good and usable, why not donate it? Someone else will likely need or want it. The operation is fully staffed by volunteers. A lot of them. Some are in their 70's, some in their 80's. They are serious about their work. When you donate items, they document what you've donated and you get an itemized receipt in the mail. They never attribute a value to anything, that's between you, your accountant, and God. Some people clean house and bring all their crap there and the volunteers sift through it and trash that worthy of being trashed. Those kinds of deliveries of "stuff" clearly annoy them, but they take it in stride. If you are into buying "stuff", everything inside is well organized. Clothing. Men's. Women's. Children. Toys. Knick knacks. Books. Shoes. Kitchen stuff. Walkers. Lots of walkers. Wheel chairs. Vases. Decorator plates. Toys. Lots of toys. Nice toys. Expensive toys. And then there are the jewelry counters. Yes, jewelry. Most of it costume jewelry but some high quality and also real stuff. Gold. Silver. Rings. Tie pins (remember those?) watches. Engagement Rings. High school and college graduation rings ( hey, if you're a Boca Fabricator About Your Past, pick up a graduation ring here to give your bull crap story a bit more credibility). Pins. Broaches. Necklaces. I've seen dealers come in there with their keen eyes and pick out the good stuff. And I know some of the volunteers quickly buy the really good stuff. Hey, that's life. Always insider trading, one way or another. It's clean. Neat. Well run. Well staffed. And raises a few hundred thou $$ a year for Boca Raton Regional Hospital. And gives a lot of elderly men and women in their 70's and 80's someplace nice to go to during the week, and socialize and engage in stimulating activity for a bunch of hours a day. Lots of free parking. A block from the BRRH main entrance. Donate here or buy stuff here. You may just find exactly what you didn't know you needed or wanted. And you're doing your share of recycling stuff. And helping out some poorer person who really can't afford to buy it, whatever it is, brand new. read more

I recently moved to the area and am checking out consignment and thrift shops. I visited this shop in search of costume jewelry for my 98yo mother. The day I visited there was a mother lode right as you opened the door. And, they were having a sale-each piece of jewelry was $1 each. Very sweet deal. Bought my mother 8 pairs of costume earrings, which she loves. The shop is clean, nicely appointed and well organized. Some items were a bit pricey but others very reasonable and in good condition. This is the best thrift store in Boca Raton for women's clothing. Unfortunately the dressing rooms are closed because of Covid. So there is no way I can buy any pants without trying them on first. We ended up buying lots of shirts and sweatshirts and all kinds of clothing for less than $50. The staff is so nice and friendly. They were super helpful and holding our clothes and folding them and adding everything up. I'm very grateful for their help and their kindness. I will be back here again! read more

I have been shopping at this store since I moved to Florida 6 years ago and have seen this place go downhill. I have donated truckloads of housewares and clothing to this store as well. Last few times--staff accepting items were rude and offered no assistance-even holding open the door as I struggled to bring in the items. This place used to be so well organized, clean and staff friendly, and affordable. Prices now are very expensive, place is disorganized and manager has no desire to sell the items (that are donated) at a reasonable price. You won't find a better resale shop in the county. I bought my last orchestra tux there, and although it was only a Bill Blass, it fits perfectly and looks great. I doubt that you could tell if from an Armani. I saw a lot of higher-end formal-ware options, but unfortunately they were not my size.
