Phil Barkowsky, Deco Construction, remodeled our 40 year old kitchen and we can't be happier. We had postponed this job for years because it seemed overwhelming, but Phil took on the job and exceeded our expectations. He had to remove a wall, open up another wall into the dining room, move the laundry room wall, raise the ceiling, remove two windows, and reroute electrical and plumbing. It seemed complicated, but everything went very smoothly. Phil and all of his subcontractors are perfectionists. Every aspect of the remodel looks amazing. The team that fabricated and installed the quartz counters were able to make a perfect match and we don't have any visible seams. They are truly artists, as is Phil. The cabinets are top quality and Phil did a great job on the installation, even modifying drawers for the new downdraft. The flooring is perfectly installed and trimmed even though we didn't have the easiest flooring to replace. We really appreciated input on color and style from Phil's wife, Phyllis. She has a great eye for color and detail. Both she and Phil talked me off the ledge a couple of times when I couldn't make a decision. They're a great team! One of the most pleasant aspects of the remodel was always knowing when someone was planning to be at the house. We were even updated when someone had to be 15 minutes late. Phil and his subcontractors were all unusually meticulous and neat. At the end of each day the house was swept or vacuumed and everything put away. The job was completed on schedule and it wasn't overwhelming at all. Phil's quote was reasonable and what we expected to pay. We cannot recommend Phil and Deco Construction highly enough. I am thrilled with the results of my two bathroom remodels. Phillip completely upgraded the tub/shower area in the front bath and the shower area in the master. His quote was competitive to others I received. He took both areas down to the studs and rebuilt from there. New tub, fixtures and tile in the front bath and complete update in the master. I hired Deco Construction to demo and then rebuild my kitchen. I loved working with Phil. My first clue that he would be our choice was when I asked him for a guess as to what it would cost, and he replied, "I don't guess." Phillip did a great job remodeling our two bathrooms - I would definitely use him again for other home projects. He responded quickly to my initial inquiry, did a professional quote, gave me a clear idea of when he could start and then kept in touch up until that time. Once we started on the project, he was very helpful on where to go to pick out materials, etc. and kept the work going at a steady pace and finished just when he said he would. Phillip does meticulous work - he not only did the work at hand but also made recommendations on fixing things that others might have glossed over (fixing seal on existing toilet; replacing an old outlet, etc.). He and the tiler he works with (Fillip) did such high quality work and they were a pleasure to work with - they always cleaned up thoroughly each day. Cannot say enough about this company and the owner Phil. We were referred to him by An awesome realtor Dave Brown with Lyon, and we were under the gun with inspections and deadlines. Even though it was not Philip's problem he came to the rescue. He showed up the day we called and was back immediately the following morning to get to work. When he was done with his work he came back on his own to do more he felt should be done. When the inspection was done and he had to come back to do other things he was there again within 15 minutes! Unheard of. He finished again very quickly and was on his way. When we asked how much more we needed to pay him, he told us not to worry about it. He also came in way under our first bid and he did an incredible job. Quick, thorough and incredibly professional and nice. I would recommend this man and company to everyone and anyone. I am still in shock how we got everything done in time and it would not have happened without him.
