Went here for dinner tonight and am wondering if we ate at the same restaurant as the other reviewers. I cannot say enough about how AWFUL dinner was. The one bright spot was the clams oreganata as an appetizer. The mozzarella in carozza looked and tasted like a large mozzarella stick except that the sauce that accompanied it was less tasty. I ordered a special - Risotto with shrimp, "lump crab meat" and sun dried tomatoes. Sounds good doesn't it? Too bad it didn't taste like it sounds. There was no "lump crab meat" in it and there were four shrimp. The rice was reddish - sort of like a can of Campbell's tomato rice soup had been cooked down. Risotto is made with arborio rice. This rice had either been so overcooked or was not arborio since it looked and tasted like Chinese take-out rice. And for $28 you'd think they'd get the rice right but you would be wrong. The worst thing about the dish was the vaguely metallic taste that is still with me, two hours after dinner. My husband's rigatoni with eggplant had the same metallic taste. Is it their tomatoes? Who knows. Then came dessert. Apple Brown Betty - it had been nuked so the inside was piping hot but the crust and topping were cold and soggy. Run as far away from this place as you can. We should have gone to Louie and Johnnie's right up Yonkers Ave. We'd have gotten a GREAT dinner and not been overcharged :( read more

Top notch every time I go here! Been going for years and always enjoy, especially the ALWAYS fresh seafood but had to write about my latest visit, a family celebration. As I implied, I'm the seafood eater but M-I-law is not. We ordered several appetizers to please all. The calamari is prepared to perfection ALWAYS. Crispy yet not over done! Clams fresh and delicious. Mom wanted the eggplant rollatini and my son who never eats the eggplant, loved it! Our meals ranged from Chicken Scarpariella, Capellini with shrimp and crab, Veal A la Nonna to my favorite, Seafood Pescatore. Even though the restaurant was quite busy everything came out hot, beautiful and delish! And oh yeah, portions are generous. We often go home with doggie bags - lunch for tomorrow! The wait staff is always friendly and makes you feel as though you are their only customer, no matter how busy they are. Don't skip dessert! Hard to choose because they're all so good but my favorite is the apple brown betty or the lemoncello. read more

WOW! Just celebrated my 30th birthday here last week with about 20 of my friends. My wife surprised me which never happens. This was my first time here & my wife had selected one of their pre-set menus. Everyone in my party loved the food. We had fried calamari, baked clams, Chilean sea bass, marinated flank steak, plus many more too list. We also had the wine & beer package and were allowed to choose from all their bottled beers (about 15) & all their house wines (about 10). We were seated in their back room which was very private for as group as we got a bit rowdy. One of the best birthday dinners that I ever had, not to mention the Yonkers Racetrack Casino was 3 blocks away & I won a few dollars after dinner. I was last here over 2 years ago and its great to know they did not loose their touch. Excellent service and great food. I tried a few of their new items, the lump crab did and the eggplant lasagna. Both were amazing, they were followed by their banana creme brulee. When I first walked in it hit me that something was different. I had to ask the server and was told the lighting and bar had been completely redone. I also never realized that they had a second dining room. They are also great with dietetic needs as my mom has a gluten allergy. They made her a gluten free chicken francese using a rice flour. DaCosta's is the best Italian ristorante in the Westchester area. The food is delicious, especially their seafood, chicken and veal dishes. My wife and I have been patronizing the restaurant for years and the meals have always been delicious and the owners gracious and willing to please. Their Wednesday pasta nights are always special plus they deserve kudos for their acknowledgments of military service on Veteran's Day. During the pandemic crisis, the owners and their staff really stepped up with their curbside pick-up service, delivery and they honored dine-in coupons at great cost to their restaurant when other eateries only cared about their bottom line. read more

Was a little worried based on some current reviews, however just tired it out this weekend and boy were we happy. The food was really good!! My husband and I went with another couple and we all tried different dishes and they were all great. We were unsure about wine selection but our waiter was very helpful and guided to a great choice. Their staff was very attentive and friendly. Really enjoyed the fact that we could have a nice conversation and hear each other even though the restaurant was full. Will be back another time! Their homemade coconut flan was so good I wish I had ordered one for myself and not shared. read more

Boy what a restaurant. We were blown away by the friendly atmosphere, courteous staff and attention to detail....but what will keep us coming back was the delicious food. Every selection was prepared fresh and to order. The calamari was a standout, fresh and cooked perfectly. The chicken parmigiana that we ordered was the best i had tasted in a long time. All selections were freshly prepared...I felt like I was at home. I over did it with the dessert, but I couldn't resist. I ordered from DeCosta's on Friday, for my husband's 50th birthday. We had ate their before and decided to order from them. O my goodness, from the appetizers, the main course, the desserts, to the Mojito, all was really good. Great to the last drop. My husband had Pork Chops, I had Seafood. The highlight was the Potato Croquettes. We asked for a specific time, for delivery and the driver was totally on time. We will order again. Just moved to Yonkers a few weeks ago and decided to give this place a try. Not sure what to expect as I'm used to Florida Italian food. Definitely happy with my choices. A cheesy crab dip appetizer was a hit at the table. Finished it off with a homemade Italian cheesecake with what seemed like fresh orange peel inside. Nice to know they serve a bottle of anisette on the table with espresso. Will be back but have to try a few other places around to compare. read more

We have been to a number of large parties here at "DeCosta's. We thoroughly enjoyed each event. At some we were served family style with huge platters of delicious food, and at the last, we had our choice of 3 entrees. The calamari, eggplant rollatine, stuffed mushrooms and caprese salad appetizers were all excellent. The entrees were also delicious. The service is always attentive and unobtrusive. We will definitely be there again and again. read more

Really gone down hill lately. Waiters are usually nice but that doesn't make up for food that would be better suited on a cheap airline. You know, one of those flights where they charge you $12 and you get the dish and are angry the rest of the flight for paying too much for awful food. read more

Have eaten at DeCosta's many times - the food is always delicious and the service is wonderful. We have made this our family gathering "go to" restaurant. The owner's are very gracious and accommadating. My nephew wants to go back for his birthday just for the potatoes and clams.... read more

Back again, my second time here in a month. Let's start with dessert, I had the blueberry creme brulee -WOW. I had the Italian Mojito made with basil instead of mint -WOW. My entree was a seared codfish in some type of lemon sauce -WOW. Will be back for a third visit soon read more
