    Pad Thai and potstickers

Amazing Food! We got the potstickers and the chicken pad Thai. The potstickers were juicy, soft with a little crunch, the cilantro and green onion toppings were amazing ! The pad Thai was also 10/10, we got level 5 spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice! And to top it all off, the owners were SO sweet and kind. I would definitely come back!

I finally had a chance to try out DeeDee's Thai food truck in Astoria, Oregon. I've been eye balling the trucks in this little corner across from the Portway for a while, and was finally able to actually stop and try some food! The outdoor seating is limited, but the tables were clean. Being next to a busy highway was noisy, but that's to be expected. The menu had some good choices, so I decided on the Yakisoba noodles. Unfortunately she was out of the egg noodles, so I agreed with a rice noodle substitution. The gal, whom I am assuming was DeeDee, was sweet, pleasant and attentive. The order was done very quickly, and it smelled heavenly. I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed with the portion size. Considering it was $13.00, plus a few extra for a tip, I thought the portion was definitely lacking. Plus, the rice noodles were so thin and tiny, a few extra would have been wonderful, or next time use a bigger, thicker glass noodle. The bowl had green and red peppers, onions, broccoli, carrots and chicken. It was tasty for sure. Not a "typical" teriyaki, being incredibly "soupy" and hard to eat with the plastic fork (my shirt got the brunt of it! ). But then again it's Thai, not Japanese. It was flavorful. Just not substantial, and I actually left still feeling a bit hungry. I'm willing to give it another try, but I'll not order the teriyaki again. Maybe this will be an opportunity to find a new favorite! I would be happy if that could happen. I would like this place to succeed.

So I was driving Astoria exploring the coast and was feeling hungry when I spotted a few food trucks, and that's when I found this place. I had never had Thai food before and so I decided to give it a shot and I have no regrets! The owner was working the window and she was very nice when taking my order, which was fast and efficient and the menu on the outside was very easy to read. Unfortantley the lot was rather small so there weren't very many tables to sit at, well only 2 tables to be exact. So unless you come before there's people expect to eat in your car. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out everything was packed up very neatly. I ordered the Beef Larb and the Thai BBQ Chicken. I ordered them both with a spiciness level of 3, which there are 5 levels of, 1-5. The beef larb was nice and spicy and it paired really well, it was paired with a bunch of steamed vegetables and a few diced peppers really bring out the flavor of the beef. Sticky white rice was given with both meals and as you can expect it tasted like white rice, which is great. The Thai BBQ chicken was also amazing! Im not sure if it's called BBQ because its cooked in a BBQ way because there's definitely no BBQ on it, and it was way more similar to curry if anything but maybe it's just a Thai thing? Regardless it was great, the chicken was soft, tender, and juicy and the creamy sauce covering the chicken was delicious and went incredibly well with the rice, my only complaint would be the lack of spice compared to the beef larb. Overall the experience was great both culinary and service wise, so if you're in the area and want some Thai food I heavily recommend this place! P.S: I took the photos after I had already taken like 2 bites out of everything so sorry if they look a little weird.

Delicious pad Thai. I love a simple pad Thai that lets all the traditional flavors stand out. This fit the bill entirely. It was very tasty and authentic. We were visiting from out of town and enjoyed this bite to eat outside along with a Reach Break beer.

So we had to give it a try. Positives: -reasonable prices -friendly service -the fried rice was good and drunken noodles look to have been cut from scratch. Negatives: -khao soi was a little salty. -location is smaller so you might not be able to get larger parties in that easily. Overall 4/5 We are very seasoned Thai food lovers. Our review might be nit picky because of that too. However, for a Thai spot in a small town this was good and deserves its praise.

Really good food here. This is a charming, quirky little place tucked into a side of a building…read moredowntown. It's a one woman operation, so bear this in mind. The owner is the waitress and the cook (and presumably the dishwasher, etc.). The restaurant's interior has a Cuban decor, often with Caribbean music playing. Super cozy and intimate. Despite the Cuban decor, however, the food is Thai. Like I said, it's quirky. It's not your standard issue Thai restaurant food either. It's got a hard to define uniqueness to it. Super fresh and flavorful. It's really good! The main frustration with this place (and why I gave 4 rather than 5 stars), is the irregular hours of operation. It's hard to tell when it will be open. I wouldn't count on posted hours, because they're not always reliable. Understandable for a one woman operation, perhaps. But it's well worth a visit if it's open. Our approach is to aim to come and eat here (we live here in Astoria), with a back up restaurant in mind. We fully expect that the back up destination is where we'll end up eating. If Curry&CoCo is open? Great. We eat here. If it's not, we move onto the second option. I get that this might be annoying to some folks, but it is what it is. Embrace it and pop in if and when you can. Like I said, it's worth your time. The food is great.

The food here was near perfection and warranted multiple visits in our 4-day stay in Astoria. The corn fritters were a great crunchy way to start the meal. Think fried creamed corn patties. The accompanying sauce tasted great and paired with the dunkable corn fritters they were a perfect appetizer. The fresh rolls, were just that, re-freshing. The peanut sauce was great. The chicken wings were fried perfectly, were crispy, and seasoned so wonderfully. I ordered these on each visit and enjoyed them every time. The Chicken Larb was good, not the best I've ever had, but very respectable. The chicken was not dried out, like a lot of places. The dish could have used a bit more spice and seasoning, but it was still very good. And lastly, the Shrimp Spicy Basil Stir Fry was delicious! It had perfectly sautéed shrimp, great spicy hot basil sauce, and vegetables that were fresh and delicious. It was so good and ate really well with. Just white rice. I can't wait to return to Astoria...I will definitely be back here every day they're open.

Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat.
