I used to love this place. This used to be our go to massage spa but recently, the quality of service has gone down. Tonight, we went in for a couples massage, and since it was Valentine's Day weekend, we were told we had to purchase the couples massage in order to be in the same room, which is more expensive than their normal bundle and the only additions were that they provided you with Champagne and macaroons after, but we do not drink. In all honesty, the lady massaging me seemed angry that she had to stay to massage me because prior to them escorting us to the room, her and the front desk receptionist were seemingly arguing in their spoken language. We didn't mind paying extra for a special treat, but once we filled out our forms, we were guided into this second makeshift area, that lines up with the Main Street on 2nd and we can practically hear passerby's conversing verbatim and very distracting music from neighboring bars, so it was very unpleasant. Then there was the massage! The "massage" was rushed, I was neck jerked to the point of pain, my shoulders, which were supposed to be the highlight of this massage, were ignored. The balm I provided was not used because there was not a single minty sensation to my back, which rather, had been excessively oiled and greased down with something else, and this process happened 4 times; oiled, then wiped, oiled then wiped. I was really questioning what I paid for at this point! Then, I was told my massage was over! You know that feeling when someone just kind of half asses the job; they kneed here, and there, do some pretend hand/ elbow work and they know they half assed the Job... that's how that entire experience felt! Probably thinking, Let me do this and get the F out here!! Well that's how it felt! When the massage was announced to be over, I lifted my head to look at my partner and her guy was still working her feet and had turned her over and everything! She seemed happy so I didn't want to complain when this was supposed to be a nice Valentine's Day treat. But trust me, I was furious, utterly furious after leaving. It felt like I was robbed of the experience and the relief of a real massage! That massage was mediocre! This experience makes me never want to step foot in this place ever again! Moral of the story, don't select an evening massage at this place if you actually want a real massage. And complain in person, so you don't end up like me here! My husband and I have gone here for years. It's hit and miss. This week was a big miss. The receptionist switched the sheets clients fill out when they arrive. This has preference and trouble spots. I didn't realize it until my therapist started walking on me which I do not like but my husband does and one of the reasons he likes Dee Dee Thai. He was very unhappy with his treatment but when we mentioned it to the receptionist she said we did get the massage we wanted. Yes we did get the right massage but we did not get the massage we wanted. We were very unhappy. The hit and miss was ok when they were more reasonably priced but with the new prices they need to do better. read more

For the price, it's bare bones basic. The tables are made of plywood and you can see the bare unfinished wood when you're staring at the floor for an hour. On the up side, the staff if nice. Not very informative though if it's your first time! I had no idea what I was really in for and I thought it was just a nice gentle massage with the normal kneading and gentle push pull. I left feeling like my bones in my hand were broken. The gentle massage was not gentle at all. Oddly enough, I kept wondering when the actual massage was going to start. Scheduled a 90 min massage. While on my way, informed that massage would be moved to 30 min later and only 60 min but I could receive hot stones for the inconvenience. While on table, the therapist asked if I was getting hot stones. I explained the situation and off she went stating that "the front always makes mistakes and then offer hot stones. I am an independant contractor and now I have to work for free. I don't think that is fair". She went on and on. Now I am conflicted abt how to tip her. I don't want her working for free, but I also don't want her ruining my massage. I declined the hot stones because she said it would cut into my 60 min. massage time. At the front desk I was asked abt my massage. I told the truth. The therapist came in and asked if there was something I didn't like. I told her that I didn't like her working for free but also didn't appreciate her voicing her opinion while I was on the table ultimately ruining my massage. I opted for full Thai with a little less pressure in some areas too and both massage therapists accommodate our request. The guy I had the first time wasn't working so I went with someone else.. If I wanted a Swedish massage it would have been OK, but I wanted Thai massage. He did not give me a Thai massage. Great local salon! Was visiting a friend in Long Beach and we decided to get a massage here and had a great time. The place is located on 2nd Street right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of things. You have to go up to the second floor and you'll find it discreetly tucked away in a quiet little spot. Like many small Asian massage places, the place is pretty quaint, but very neat. I had an hour massage here and the service was great. My person was very attentive and relaxing and I honestly can't think of anything negative about how the massage went. After my massage, they let me wait in a separate, more private waiting area (rather than the waiting area where the entrance is) and they offered me a beverage and a snack which I appreciated. Dee Dee Thai Spa is conveniently located next to many cafes, restaurants, and bars so you can easily find a place to hang/eat before or after you get a massage and make it a whole experience. The only slight critique is that they only accept cash so make sure to have some on hand when you come here! read more

Just FYI this is a THAI massage spot so if you're expecting Swedish style this is not the place. I always come here because I need a deeper massage with stretching which is why I prefer Thai massages since not many therapists know how to stretch. Wonderful experience today. The staff was super accommodating and welcoming. I barely could walk from hip pain that came out of nowhere - and they were able to squeeze me in. Sarah was my masseuse and she was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend her - just the right amount of pressure and checked in just the right amount of time as well. Very good massage.
