A very unassuming little slice of paradise I just had an amazing experience at La Dolce Vita Spa. I booked the Love Yourself for Two/Couples by calling Saturday morning. Was able to book the same day. The package is $360 ($10 coupon) for a 30 min jacuzzi soak, a 45 min body scrub, and a 60 min massage. For two people, this is a great deal. Parking: circled 2 blocks and found a street parking spot. If I were running late or if the streets were packed, I would pay the $10 to park at the Shell gas station across the street. Jacuzzi: In the back outdoor patio, there are partitioned areas for jacuzzis and treatment rooms. It's a little tight walking through but it adds to the coziness. Swimsuits are optional. They provided us with slippers (about a size 8/9 women's) and a robe (one size). My partner and I had a glass of rose and soaked for about 20 min. Body scrub: feels amazing after the jacuzzi. The scrub is a little rough on the skin to get the exfoliation, but in a pleasant way. They do a good job of covering you with a thin towel, and don't go too deep in crevices like you would experience at a Korean spa. My skin felt so soft afterwards. Massage: after soaking in the jacuzzi and getting scrubbed on a treatment bed, we were put in the outdoor massage area. My masseuse was Sarah, and she did wonders on my shoulders and neck, which were areas I asked for focus. She was surgical with finding pressure points and working them out. I my shoulders still feel so relaxed from her work earlier today. My partner had Jamie as his masseuse and was equally pleased with his massage. After the treatments, we were led back to the front lounge where we each got a chocolate covered strawberry and water. Jamie, Sarah, Laura, and Vanessa were so hospitable and professional. By the end of my massage, I had noticeably better mobility, and by the next morning, I was completely back to normal. Shelley not only worked magic on my muscles, but she also explained which muscles were affected and gave helpful aftercare tips--super educational and healing all in one. This was my second time getting a massage here, and I can confidently say I'll be booking with Shelley every time from now on. My husband and I went in for a couple's massage (hot tub + massage package with champagne/treats). The woman at the front who greeted us and another patron went to go set up the other patron's massage tent. When she came back, she saw the 3 of us on our phones and repeatedly commented "what a sad world it has become" because we were not socially interacting with each other. Then she proceeded to say, "In the past, I would introduce people to each other and they would talk." I replied, "Had you introduced us, we would have chatted." I was trying to put the onus on her due to the negative comment she kept making. She again repeated what a sad world we live in after my response. Speaking to my husband about this, he also found her comment to be very off-putting. Staff should be trained to be more socially professional. Now onto my massage: it was just OKAY. My masseuse was really nice, but I could smell a hint of cigarette on him, especially whenever he spoke, and that is not pleasant when you're trying to enjoy a nice, relaxing massage. He also had one sharp corner of his nail that scratched me when he worked on my neck and shoulders. It wasn't a super sharp scratch, but noticeable enough that it bothered me. The massage itself was lackluster and it felt as if my masseuse was not well-skilled or is still a trainee. They served us chocolate covered strawberries afterwards, which were delicious. Called the spa to be let inside when I arrived and we were offered champagne while we checked in, which was a nice perk! Shortly after, Victor took us to our outdoor treatment room, which had a heater and relaxing music. We were slathered all over with the coconut cream and left to marinate in plastic wrap for about 30 minutes. I was in heaven! The massage wasn't the same style as I'm used to but it wasn't bad. I was uncomfortable with my massage. I will never have a male massage me again. I let him know my shoulder and neck pain. I had a lot of knots. He only worked on one. Focused way too much on "massaging" my entire back & on my arms & hands. I don't understand why so much time was worked on my hands. I don't appreciate ever touching my thigh when I selected a computer upper back massage and foot massage. It said it would focus on my foot and my calf. My calves were never massaged. And the foot massage was weak. I didn't feel better at all which really sucked after spending $125. I do appreciate the male masseuse stepping out when I was obviously uncomfortable turning over while he was there. My friend Jessica has sciatica and her massage person made her back hurt when she repeatedly told her to avoid a certain area. As nice as everyone was this is just my honest review. We won't be coming back. She left there with an ice pack on her back. BTW they don't ask you questions about preferences, focus areas, what massage you selected to confirm. We both spoke up on our own to make sure we weee getting the correct massage. Which at the end of the day it didn't matter because it's like they did what they wanted to do. The massage description wasn't being fulfilled. Additionally, I didn't appreciate that he asked if I was ticklish? Then proceeds to touch my armpits because that's y he asked he said. I've never had anyone have to touch my armpits before. And when he's at my feet he tickles my feet. It was duckin weird. Reading another one of these comments about someone receiving a sensual massage maybe this is the kind of place it is. Cuz where was the actual work on my neck and shoulders to get all the knots I have out. And my body felt uncomfortable for a reason. I felt like he was trying to graze my boobs at one point from the side. I didn't let him, I'd tense up and move and then I felt like at one point he was trying to lift me up. YES to see my breasts. Again, I didn't let him. At first, I thought I was over thinking it but reading the rest of the comments made me feel validated. No wonder he spent so much time on my arms. The location seems nice when you walk in and the staff is friendly. However, take into consideration massages are done in the backyard each table has a tent for privacy. Mine was done close to the neighbors so I got to listen to a man yelling on the phone during half of my massage. My massage was done by someone who did not appear to have much background on massages (male). I get massages regularly and I was disappointed by the lack of their experience. Called last minute & they informed me they had a couples scrub & 90 min massage, how lucky!!! We got there a little early because I was told there would be a place to lounge before our service (this wasn't the case due to the rain) but when we came in the lady who greeted us was like "oh my gosh, you're really really really early" which was strange because it was only 30 mins. We got our scrubs first & the room was very insulated for being outside which was a huge plus because it was cold & raining & the water they rinse you with is nice & hot. After this we were told to come back to the front, we got chocolate covered strawberries & champagne which was ok. During the massage my therapist asked me if I was comfortable & I said "No" but he kept digging his hand in the same uncomfortable spot on my neck. He also had long nails & scratched me a few times. This was not it. Three of us booked massages. Two of us had gotten various kinds of massages(Swedish, deep tissue, thai, sports, some versions of cranio-sacral massages etc.) from professional massage therapists for over 15 years and you can generally tell who has training and who doesn't. They do not seem to have any trainings. We booked deep tissue massage, not sure what the superficial gentle rubbing on skin, or lightly holding touch on random parts of the body had to do with actual deep tissue massage. When we got there, the door was locked, we didn't start till well after 10 mins past the hour. (To their credit, they did go past the allotted time to try to make up for it.) Nobody asked what we would like to focus on, or anything. My massage therapist spent majority of the time adjusting his seat and pushing the entire massage bed one side to another to adjust his chair better, as well as walking around the massage bed for some reason. When we requested that we would prefer more pressure, they barely responded and changed nothing. It was a very strange and non-therapeutic experience. The mood was that of me sitting by the fire in my childhood home, comfort. There's no other word to describe how warm the atmosphere was. I nearly fell asleep just waiting for my massage. I was then greeted by David and when i say 2 years of tension was unleashed from my body is an actual understatement. The ambiance of entering the massage room and onto the massage table was that of a cloud of warmth, the gentle but firm touch was that of the Gods. I entered La Dolce Vita Spa myself however I left in an entirely new body. Honestly it was the worst "spa" experience I've ever had. It was locked when we arrived. We knocked and waited and knocked and waited. They offered tea but they were out of it so we got water instead, which they didn't refill although it was hot and my glass was empty. The salt scrub smelled oddly fishy and I couldn't wait to get it off my skin when I got home. The "rinse" was tossing buckets (plastic mop buckets) of water at me. The staff gave poor directions about what to expect and there was no security for our items and staff moved our purses and clothing and keys while we were in the tub. It was a stressful unhappy experience and felt very janky and unprofessional. It was almost comical how bad it was. I'm not sure the staff was certified in any way. Pretty disappointed... Made an appointment this morning, get there 30min early, no one answered the door or phone, I texted and called a few more times and got someone to answer just to tell me they don't have a appointments booked today, they checked and realized we were on there, apologized, They then had to "find" therapist. I gave them the benefit of the doubt on this one cause shit happens, but I should have known someone called in last minute wasn't going to do a great job. The spa part was great. It was clean and nice. But, when the second massage therapist showed up he already looked annoyed. We were there for a couples massage. I got victor, he did a great job. But Andrew, only know his name cause victor introduced him, didn't care to do his job. He barley spoke to my fiancé and gave the lightest, most half assed massage, never asked if the pressure was ok. My cats get pet harder then this guy massages. My fiancé left more stressed then when we got there from the therapist being so uncomfortable or grumpy.
