Fate guided me to this musk scented cave.... I believe I've stumbled upon a coven of witches. The first thing I spotted upon entering was a pile of unethically sourced Palo santo. I have no complaints other than the prices were a little to low. The sound of click clacking from the hooves of the worker bees was very relaxing. They trot about the store, very helpful. I felt transported to a 1960s department store located in New York City. I checked the thermostat.... 120 degrees, not sure if that is Celsius or Fahrenheit. I felt heat stroke coming on from being in there but I'm not upset about it. I know for a fact these garments have been sourced from Santee alley. I still don't have any complaints. read more

Unless you happen to be in the area or live in the area, it's not really worth coming here to sell. If you live in LA, you know exactly what's trending and they look for different things, haha. The employees here are young girls, so they aren't really familiar with much. Took a luggage full of stuff here from both my husband and I, trending both for summer and fall, they told us they were only looking for Fall items which was understandable. Had everything from Forever 21 and H&M to Urban Outfitters, Brandy Melville and then some J Brand, AG Jeans, Free People, and others from Barneys, Nordstrom or Saks, and these girls were only interested in H&M, Urban Outfitters and Forever 21, some of our American Apparel and then looked at our jeans. They offered $4 for some items that were H&M or Forever 21, not bad. But they also wanted to offer $5 for brand new J Brand skinny jeans, not knowing this was a designer, haha. They just thought it was a new pair of nice skinny jeans. The other lady waiting in the store laughed as well when she heard their offers. Other than that, they pretty much skipped through the designer stuff because they honestly just didn't know what they were. Nice girls, but definitely not worth the drive here from LA. What they were wearing wasn't what was trending either or I don't know if they shop in the store as well. I would have to agree with other Yelpers when they said they look for stuff that THEY like. And I don't think they do their research either, or at least not much of it. They didn't know what J BRAND jeans were! Will stick to Wasteland where they actually know what's in style. Haha. I think this store is more for the younger crowd who's into vintage affordable mall brands. At least we know now! I've sold my clothing to Deelux on a couple occasions and as a seller I've only had positive experiences. I've really only ever taken curated vintage from my personal closet and Reformation items that no longer fit me and they buy all of it. Whenever I've sold, I've gotten $100 in cash. Yes, they are transitioning out of buying Zara, Forever 21, H&M but they mentioned that on their instagram a while ago so it didn't come as surprise to me. I have noticed that they lean more toward sustainable, indie brands like Lisa Says Gah, Paloma Wool, Reformation and vintage, which as a shopper, I love. They also have photos on their site/IG so you can get an idea of brands/styles that they're looking for at the moment. I'm from LA and I'm used to selling to consignment shops such as Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads so I don't get offended when some of my items don't get taken. I just end up selling them on depop. The buyers have never made me feel bad about my items or been rude to me. On the shopper side though, I must admit that the customer service could be better. That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Almost every time I'm shopping, I have a lot of clothes on my arms and never get offered to start a fitting room or to have my items put on hold and there's little to no interaction with customers. I understand that it's not really a retail store so you don't want to bombard shoppers with a million questions but a little "doing okay?" if you see customers browsing the racks while you're putting go-backs away would be nice. Other than that though, I love shopping here. I've scored a lot of my favorite vintage Levis here and a lot of cute vintage tops/shoes for good prices! read more

I've been to Deelux a few times as a shopper and it has definitely proven to be a hit or miss. There's more misses than hits. When it's a hit though, it's a HIT. I've found pristine London Fog trench coats, spotless Doc Martens, and vintage designer items such as Salvatore Ferragamo heels, those iconic 90's rainbow Coach handbags and even some modern Kate Spade/Michael Kors bags. Yes, it's a little pricey for second-hand clothing but Deelux is technically a consignment/vintage store, not your corner thrift shop. I've sold a couple of things here as well for a fair price. Fast fashion brands are no longer accepted though you'll find many pieces throughout the store. My guess is that they're slowly phasing them out. Deelux is worth checking out if you have time and patience! read more

I am not sure why people leave such bad reviews for reselling clothes. This was my first time selling to them and I did not encounter any rudeness. I was told upfront the wait time(hour and a half). They texted me when it would be ready. They selected half of the pieces that I brought in. Most of the pieces they picked were vintage pieces that I had thrifted but could not make work and knew someone else would appreciate. The rest I plan to donate. I was pleased with my experience overall. Great store! Beautiful collection of trendy and vintage clothing. I saw lots of 501's priced around 60-70 dollars, which is a fair price. Their racks are full of good quality unique pieces. You can tell the store is well managed and organized. The clothing is also very well picked and priced. I would say the range of clothing prices is $10-$70 (consider the value and quality). Another perk of this store is the friendly girls at the front. They all were super nice and helpful. Though i'm a little far from this shop, I will definitely come visit again! read more

First time in here last week, found this place on yelp. Super cute store! Very hipster,Some girl walked in and had a bag of just vintage and walked out with $90 something cash, which also seemed to be their friend and I walked in with trendy clothes and no luck. They're only a vintage shop.. which is cute! && The reason for a 4 star isn't because they passed on my stuff but they almost took TWO HOURS to look at my stuff. They only have two buying registers and 3 girls there. I walked in at 5:20 and walked out at 7:15pm. Long wait to get everything passed on... If you're into cheap vintage finds THIS PLACE IF FOR YOU. But if you're looking for a place to SELL, take only vintage and retro beat up clothes. Trying to sell your stuff here? DONT. Out of a bag of perfectly GOOD high quality clothes they only took two things- nike shoes, and Neumann Marcus sweater. They said the shoes go for $18 and the sweater $20 but you get 30% of that (or 50% store credit) which came to $12 for BOTH - the nike shoes they sell there go for $80-130. The most you're bound to receive cash for each item of clothing you are selling is $5. I was fine with that for my pieces from H&M or Forever21, but when it came to my brand new Free People tops and sweaters they definitely low-balled me. Go somewhere else with your name brand pieces. Fantastic second hand boutique! Highly recommend for lightly used apparel for men and women. Prices are reasonable. Staff is helpful and polite. They do buy your lightly used items but are incredibly meticulous on what they select. If you want to get a feel for what they are looking to purchase, come in and browse their racks and look at how the associates are dressed. Note: Do not be discouraged if they do not purchase your items. If you feel your items are worthy of a second chance, try selling on the POSHMARK app. You wont regret it. Trust me ;) read more

They won't buy everything, which I find kind of fabulous -- not great for the seller necessarily, but I think it illustrates just how aware the shop is of trends and seasons. It's a very sustainable form of second-hand. But the main thing that brings me to this review is less the merchandise and more the people who work there. I might be completely long in my memory recovery, but I believe there was a girl who worked there named Anna who was really open with me about the value of my clothing, and was super kind about making sure I could make the maximum amount on each item (whether it was from them or elsewhere). The return policy isn't great, some of the staff just seem rude as well. Whats the point of an itemized receipt if people "have" to still have the tags attached? I can bring in clothes for donation and you'll be able to tag, bag and sell them but if someone tries returning an item that is even still in stock magically you have no way of properly restocking it even if i have the receipt and you could attach your own tag. Leaves no room for gift giving flexibility. Join the 21st century and adopt a better inventory system. This one is antiquated. In a word, this place is wack. read more

I brought 4 BAGS of really good clothes that definitely matched their style, waited 2 HOURS just to get $23.10 back. They literally only took 5 pieces of clothing. And yes, I had to take back STILL 4 BAGS of good quality clothes. Not only this, but the staff was EXTREMELY rude. They never said excuse me when walking by, they never asked us if we needed help, they lacked the basic manners such as saying, "thank you" when we checked out and left the store. Really good place to sell your clothes. If you do sell, make sure the clothes are in good condition, no holes, no wrinkles, and no stains. I made $115 selling 20 articles of clothing. But they were all name brand clothes like Zara, Pull & Bear, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Strativarious, All Saints, Levis, Free People, Scotch and Soda, etc. So just brands that are on trend basically. read more

Their clothing is okay, but a little too overpriced for my taste. My experience with selling clothes here was less than pleasurable. They told me that it would take about 30 minutes to look through my things and set a price. I asked them if they could call me when they priced my items because I wanted to grab a bite to eat and they said "Sure!" After about 45 minutes, I had not heard anything back from them and decided to go into the store and wait. When I arrived, the things they were not going to buy from me were already rebagged and they were doing other things behind the counter. A girl who was sitting there waiting for them to price her items told me that they had finished with my things about 20 minutes earlier. Nice! Great customer service! Also "nice" to see that they offered me only $15.75 for 2 Seven for All Mankind jeans that were in impeccable condition. This place is definitely a rip off when it comes to selling your clothes for cash. They are definitely taking advantage of the market because it's the only store from here to Pasadena and San Diego that buys clothing and those stores have all monopolized to work the same way. Who's gonna open the competitor store and go back to the old way when you earned more money for your products??? Can't wait. It's just a quick way to earn some minimal cash if needed. I've bought and sold clothes here, and have been pretty satisfied with my experience here. You get the bang for your buck if you get store credit when selling, if you're a regular at this store. Some clothes are definitely overpriced, but you can find some great gems as well for a bargain. Girls that run the store for the most part are nice and friendly. It's funny how the negative reviews on this place mostly deal with the fact that the store wouldn't buy all their stuff... have you people never been to a Crossroads/Buffalo/Plato's Closet before?! Love this store! Can never go in there and leave without buying at least SOMETHING. The prices are great and sometimes they reduce items even more if they are older items. I recently got a summer dress for $3 and my boyfriend got an awesome sport coat for $7! We were very pleased! My only complaint and reason for the 4 star rating is because some of the girls that work there seem very stuck up and act like they are being bothered if you ask to look at something in a case or a purse behind the counter. Also, one evening I went in there about 20 minutes before they closed and an employee made it a point about 3 different times to let me know that they were closing soon. I got it. I made sure to leave before the doors closed. Thank you. The girl that goes through your used clothing, if you choose to bring stuff in to trade, is extremely picky. I brought in about 7 pairs of denim in great condition (citizens of humanity, sevens, joe's etc.) and 3 coach bags. She didn't want to buy anything. Do not waste your time and energy trying to sell your clothes at DEE LUX Claremont. The employee would not accept my clothes because she believed it was not the "style" they are looking for. She kept saying that they cater to the high school and college students. My clothes were not out of style and anyone who is a size small to medium would fit into them. In fact, my clothes were only a year old. I had bought them from Macy's, Kohl's, Forever 21, and H&M. Those are the only stores I shop from. They were definitely not outdated because I am in my early 20's and my taste is not old. Being a college student myself I know that the clothes were not out of style. I am sure high school and college students would have loved wearing them. Anyone who fits in the clothes would have loved wearing no matter the age!! Had I not grown out of my clothes then I would never sell them. They were in perfect condition and cared for. They were hardly worn and some of them even had price tags on them (brand new). I even washed and ironed them before coming to the store. The employee kept saying that they only buy "branded" clothes like ZARA, RALPH LAUREN, GUCCI, and other brand names you would find at the mall. In fact, couple of my tops were ALFANI brand from Macy's. I was disappointed about their decision not to buy because this was not stated on their WEBSITE. I read all of their policies before coming to the store and yet the employee told me "you can read the policies on our website." I would not have made the trip if I didn't read their policies. Their website only mentioned that they cannot guarantee that they will buy clothes from every seller due to their high volume. This description does not match with what I was told by their employee and my overall experience. If this store is so PICKY about the type clothes they buy then they should be more specific on their website and list all the brands they accept. They should not waste people's time and energy. The employee who was looking at my clothes did not even look experienced. Sorry to say but I would not recommend this store to ANYONE. read more

Overpriced and unprofessional Two things. 1: i dropped off 1 bag of clothes to sell & and i gave them my name and phone number & they said they will text me when they are done. I walked around the village for 2 1/2 hours and received no text so i went back in and saw that my bag was the only one there. I told a staff member i was here for my bag & she told me it seemed that the previous workers did not get to it (even though my bag of clothes looked searched through). They never even bothered to text me and tell me that my bag wouldn't be get to. They wasted my time and it was just annoying and unprofessional. 2: SOOO OVERPRICED. U can get the same exact clothing items from your local ACTUAL thrift store. Its insanely expensive for no reason. read more
