It's way too overpriced to be considered a thrift store, but how can I complain when I found Madewell jeans for $15 and they're normally retail priced at $60-$130. Of course I bought them!! Overpriced and unprofessional Two things. 1: i dropped off 1 bag of clothes to sell & and i gave them my name and phone number & they said they will text me when they are done. I walked around the village for 2 1/2 hours and received no text so i went back in and saw that my bag was the only one there. I told a staff member i was here for my bag & she told me it seemed that the previous workers did not get to it (even though my bag of clothes looked searched through). They never even bothered to text me and tell me that my bag wouldn't be get to. They wasted my time and it was just annoying and unprofessional. 2: SOOO OVERPRICED. Do not waste your time and energy trying to sell your clothes at DEE LUX Claremont. The employee would not accept my clothes because she believed it was not the "style" they are looking for. She kept saying that they cater to the high school and college students. My clothes were not out of style and anyone who is a size small to medium would fit into them. In fact, my clothes were only a year old. I had bought them from Macy's, Kohl's, Forever 21, and H&M. Those are the only stores I shop from. They were definitely not outdated because I am in my early 20's and my taste is not old. Being a college student myself I know that the clothes were not out of style. I am sure high school and college students would have loved wearing them. Anyone who fits in the clothes would have loved wearing no matter the age!! Had I not grown out of my clothes then I would never sell them. They were in perfect condition and cared for. They were hardly worn and some of them even had price tags on them (brand new). I even washed and ironed them before coming to the store. The employee kept saying that they only buy "branded" clothes like ZARA, RALPH LAUREN, GUCCI, and other brand names you would find at the mall. In fact, couple of my tops were ALFANI brand from Macy's. I was disappointed about their decision not to buy because this was not stated on their WEBSITE. I read all of their policies before coming to the store and yet the employee told me "you can read the policies on our website." I would not have made the trip if I didn't read their policies. Their website only mentioned that they cannot guarantee that they will buy clothes from every seller due to their high volume. This description does not match with what I was told by their employee and my overall experience. If this store is so PICKY about the type clothes they buy then they should be more specific on their website and list all the brands they accept. They should not waste people's time and energy. The employee who was looking at my clothes did not even look experienced. Sorry to say but I would not recommend this store to ANYONE. read more

Honestly this store has such cute little Knick-knacks to buy but other than that all of it is over priced. Don't get me wrong the clothes are super cute but for a "thrift type of store" the should bring it down just a tad. Because with some of their prices you can go buy the same things brand new. I honestly didn't mind indulging here and there but what made me stop liking this store was their staff. Some of the girls here are so rude. The cashier I had was beyond sweet but I had went to sell clothes and I was so nice and they just had a whatever attitude. When I came back to get my clothes and see what they wanted to buy, they bought my one jacket that was on top of my bag, and when I got home and took my bags out it looked like they didn't even check out my clothes, they were all folded and left how I had dropped it off for them to go through. Nifty store! We were walking before we ate to see what stores were out there. Came across this store and it reminded me of "Buffalo Exchange" in DTF. Pretty neat concept and pricing is fair. Everything is neat and organized and staff is friendly. I found a great denim jacket for $16! Kind of glad I made a pit stop here before eating, then I would have never found that jacket! This is a very well taken care of, selective boutique in an ultra cool spot in the Claremont village. This means you get great deals on first rate unique & vintage items that would go for much more on Melrose. I must address this issue of previous poor reviews. 95% of their negative feedback is totally off base. The employees are super sweet, attentive, and fashionable. But sadly, too many people confuse this place for Buffalo Exchange or one of those other shitty trendy overpriced second hand stores that buys anything you can find at the mall. This is NOT one of those places. They're looking for unique, quality vintage items not necessarily your Target or H&M junk. And that's why SO many reviews are angry. They're from people looking to unload their clothes from last year. Sorry, nope. I've been collecting vintage and unique clothes for 25 years. I was in a bind, financially. Brought a bunch of stuff. I honestly wish I could give a lower rating...they deserve that. I decided to give the store a second chance after the experience my sister had with them when trying to sell her stuff in the past. They didn't buy her clothes, even when the items were in good condition. I went in to sell some shoes, which were all brand new and name brand. The girl at the counter was rude, none of the employees seemed welcoming. In fact, I felt uncomfortable being in the store because of how nasty the atmosphere felt. I'm not sure if it was racially motivated or due to the fact I wasn't dressed to go to a fashion show, but I've never had such a terrible experience at a "thrift" store or "vintage" clothing store. I do not think the employees should be acting that high and mighty when they're selling shein and target clothes there. I was taking in three brand new pairs of shoes (one being dr martens), which probably would've been beneficial given the selection I saw there, but I'll be going somewhere else to sell my stuff. The rest I'll take to Plato's closet to see if I can make any more money before donating. Wait was an hour. The girls were nice and decent, no bitchy attitude. First off this place smells like a old closet.. You'll have better luck selling your clothes/shoes on Poshmart or Depop. They are so picky! Brought in two bags of clothes many still had tags & most clothes were from urban outfitters, topshop, american apparel etc.. They only took TWO items and muttered under their breath to each other making rude comments and jokes about the clothes as if I couldn't hear them before telling me that none of my clothes were good enough. Love the clothes style that they offer. Everything is always so neat and never feels like a mess when you walk in. The prices are also fairly reasonably for thrifted clothes. The only flaw is the donation process because of how picky the store is. When donating clothes they are searching for specific styles that they think would sell well in the store. Because of this I have walked away without being able to donate a single article of clothing. However; the service, options, and prices is why I keep returning. read more

This is the only place I go because the staff is always super friendly and never make me feel badly about not choosing certain garments I've brought in like I've experienced at other stores. I'll start off by saying I love a good bargain deal and fun spunky clothes! I also love to sell my clothes on buy & sell apps & make quite a good profit. DeeLux gets 3 stars due to the subpar selection of clothes they sell as well as the high prices for said subpar clothing. Most clothes sell for $15-35 (I'd rather buy something brand new for that price). You can get the same or cuter used clothing at Goodwill for a cheaper price. Although it is convenient to sell at DeeLux, I have found that they lowball your clothing (I will stick to selling on Depop app in the future). They do have a good selection of cute new off beat socks, stationary, and gifts though, but it is a bit overpriced, which a college student like me isn't very thrilled about. 3/5 stars read more

I must say I'm very disappointed with the customer service provided by last night's employees. I called at 4pm asking what time they stopped buying so I can stop by after work which is 30 minutes out of my way home. I specifically called to confirm the time they stop buying just to make sure I will be seen and wouldn't waste a drive over there. I took my belongings and at 6:30pm I was turned away. I'm sure you can understand how frustrating that is when you go out of your way to find out the hours of operation just so this doesn't happen. I was told to return when they open today at 11am as if I don't have a 9a- 5pm job. When I explained to the buyer my situation she responded in the most dry and unempathetic tone that they had reached maximum capacity for the night. I have been coming here for years and I've heard lots of negative experiences with customer service but always have given them the benefit of the doubt simply because I hadn't experienced anything myself until now. Don't waste your time coming here. I would recommend other alternatives such as Crossroads Trading or Buffalo Exchange. read more

This place is an over priced thrift store. They have a donation policy of what is "IN SEASON". They take a look while you shop. As for me looking to make a little extra buck, I went in for the first time to donate. When they called me they didn't take nothing which was odd because I had taken what they mostly take due to there policy season. WHATEVER. get home to change out the bag cause they ripped the one I took the stuff in. And noticed some NEW TOMS were missing. Now I get it donations. Okay, but when it comes to we can give you $$ for what we take. I didn't bother cause they were going to goodwill after anyways... but to keep items after there policy is to pay you out. Felt unfair! don't bother with donations here. Most clothing are way over priced, as well shoes at times look lifeless. I used to shop and sell a deelux. It's a shame that the employees are so rude and they are uneducated on fast fashion brands. I saw a sign posted outside deelux that was very contradictory of what was being sold on store racks. The sign posted advertised that they were buying clothes for the winter season and would no be accepting clothes from fast fashion brands and gave examples of forever 21, H&M and so on, however they said brandy Melville and urban outfitters were accepted. When I went in I found clothes from Zara, ASOS, forever 21 and H&M. I would normally nod and mind my business. The employees are extremely rude. From a store that relys on buy sell trade they should at least recognize that Brandy Melville is one of the most severe fast-fashion brands in the industry but of course they don't care because it's trendy and the brandy name sells well. It's diSgusting that deelux has overlooked the shame that brandy Melville inflicts in young girls; using child labor, sweatshops, and the insecurities of young girls to build their brand. Very hypocritical to sell fast fashion brands and pardon a fast fashion brand...even label it as a non fast fashion brand when it is. Brandy's product research takes pictures of customers clothing and immediately remakes clothes identical to those seen on shoppers, therefore fast fa. Terrible customer service and they're destroying their reputation. So sad because deelux used to be such a great store. So rude. So hypocritical. read more

This place is awful! Even if you can deal with the overpriced clothes, (which are mostly cheap types of fast-fashion sold at almost the same price they were sold in store), the selling experience is what I truly can not stand about them. DeeLux say they take a variety of clothing, trendy, lightly used, etc, yet they didn't take a single piece of my clothing today. I had everything from Vans to H&M, even nice Pin-Up dresses and jewelry, all in great condition. I can't imagine how they can't take a single thing. And it wasn't just me, either. The people in front of me tried selling multiple nice items in great condition, but DeeLux just wasted their time. And that was the worst part!! I was told to wait 45 min for them to sort through my clothes since the line was long, so I did. They said they would call me, which is why they took my phone number, and DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER?!?! After an hour had passed, however, I finally got their attention only to be told they had sorted through my clothes some time ago and hadn't purchased anything. Yet they never called my phone or acknowledged me when I came to sit in the waiting area. This is the second time I've tried selling here, and the first experience didn't go any better, as they only took my most expensive items while claiming they were looking for "different stuff". It's like Crossroads and Buffalo Exchange without the hiked prices. Prices range from about $8-$15. A lot of vintage, a lot of modern. They have a wider selection of clothes too so you don't gotta worry about the time of day to come in because you're probably going to find something. Wonderful customer service and good selection of used clothes. For someone like me who is well into their 30s, compared to most other customers who appear to be much younger, it might take some digging to find something that's not "trendy" but rather stylish in a classy way - but it is definitely worth the digging. I have found entire outfits here and received many compliments on them! I have also sold here several times in the past, therefor can't relate to the negative reviews customers have left on here.
