I was very conflicted on whether I should write this review or not. I recently spent an (short) evening at Deep Dive with some friends. We initially made a reservation at 7:15 which we later found out was a glitch on OpenTable. They suggested we still check in at the time of our res and they will do their best to seat us. We were sat fairly quickly at the bar. All of us started to order some food and drinks. Within the hour, we were told they had an 8:15 reservation for the seats we were in and would need us to leave. Once I spoke with the manager, he said we can stay and continue to order more food and drinks. 30 min later we were told there was a 9:15 reservation for our seats and would need to leave. At 9 o clock we were handed the bill and asked to leave. For spending over $400 we were treated very inappropriately. I recognize there was an error out of their control. But to threaten to kick out paying customers several times left a very sour taste in our mouth. We will not be back. P.S. including a 22% service charge for 3 people sitting at the bar, and not allowing us to select a tip amount on minimal service was not appropriate. read more

Is the third time I've been here and while the place is really stunning and exudes chilling good vibes, the cons overkill the good stuff, the Deep Dive hotdog is delicious but still a hotdog for $25 You decide The place is decorated with gorgeous objects and furniture pieces, attractive lighting and ambiance but is hard to find. While the descriptions of drinks are very promising, they lack of flavor. My Oaxaca Old Fashioned was flat, flat, flat. In general the place is a bit pretentious and that comes with some attitude from staff members, one waitress was kind of rude towards our group and when I tried to complain to the host about it, he pretty much ignored my notes. I was in town for work and a co-worker of mine decided to check this place out. First thing to note, if you're not paying attention you will miss it. It's in the base of the spheres on the opposite side from the grassy area. We got there on a Thursday night and there was a 35 minute wait. We decided to go grab a drink and snacks nearby to wait and our table was ready almost exactly 35 minutes later. Deep Dive has a nice ambiance, dark wood walls, bell jars filled with art pieces and other things as well as curiosities on the wall. The drinks we had were good, but a little bit expensive. We had some additional snacks here too and they were good and also expensive, probably more than they were worth. All in all a good place to go for a drink if you can afford it. read more

Stopped by here on a Sunday evening and we're seated without a wait. Only ordered drinks this time around but the food options looked intriguing so we'll be back to try those. Cocktails - I tried the Duc Duc Gooseberry and it was delicious! The kiwi infused gin was unlike any other I had tried in the past - a beautiful, tasty and very satisfying cocktail. My husband had the Nonino Brown - with rum, pineapple and walnut infused cognac. It's like a tiki drink without being a tiki drink, delicious! Our friends ordered the Oaxacan old fashioned and smoking mirror and enjoyed their drinks as well, Service was excellent, and the rest of the drinks looked amazing as well. I like this place despite being super hard to make reservations - I haven't found a speakeasy in Seattle that's this clean and modern on the inside so it's definitely a place I'll keep coming back for the NY vibe. While the ambience and service is a 5/5, the cocktails are pretty mediocre for the price. I've tried 4 items in the menu and only the flower drum song was good. Everything else I've tried either tastes a bit strange or watered down. This might not be the best place for you if you're super picky about the drinks but definitely hard to miss if you love taking instagramy photos with friends! read more

While bar hopping we ended up at Willmott's Ghost and the bartender told us to check out Deep Dive. He said it was a speakeasy but when we got there the server told us it was not. It felt like one, however. The door was kind of hidden in the Amazon Spheres and when we walked in it felt secret and elegant. My friend was super drunk and I guess she was planning to keep a stirrer and so the manager went up to her and told her not to take their straws. My other friend and I were mortified and we gave our friend a hard time for 2 days straight but my point is if they have stirrers that are nice enough for a drunk person to want to take home well then that says a lot about the ambiance. :D The drinks - we all got Mezcal based drinks and unless you know you like Mezcal I would say stick with the other stuff. I loved it but I was also the sober one out of the three so I could still taste and appreciate the complexity. What a vibe this place is! Any time I'm in a new city I try to scope out at least one speakeasy. Reservations are recommended but I don't think they're required. We made a reservation and it made for a quick seating. This place is dark and mysterious, highly recommend for a date night! Drinks are not cheap, however they were priced about the same as our drinks were at dinner at a different restaurant so I wouldn't say there were overly expensive. I think they were $20 and $23 for each drink. and let me tell you, they were stiff AND tasty! My mezcal drink came served "up" in a gimlet goblet. It tasted and felt like a $23 drink for sure. My husband's drink came in a metal cup with ice and it felt and tasted like a $20 drink as well. Worth the money and the experience although I don't think this is the type of place I would stay for more than two cocktails, that would be a hefty bill! Music selection was unique and enjoyable. If you're looking for a dark, vibey place where you can hang and have an endless list of delicious cocktails to choose from, this is the spot! The decor was awesome too! read more

It's an experience from the moment you walk in the door. You enter from the Amazon glass spheres into a intimate speak easy. The bar is the central focal point of the space. You could look at the bar for hours and miss details with their selection of unique decorations. Reviewing the menu, you'll find yourself wanting to try so many items you know you'll have to return to make that a reality. Such a classy, fancy & gorgeous bar! The drinks are awesome here and not as pricey as I thought it would be! All the cocktails are $17 which is worth it because some of the drinks at canon are more than $20! We tried the mixtape, chill pill, passion pit and the old fashioned and all of them were delicious!! My favorite was the mixtape - I absolutely love egg whites in my cocktails! Adds a nice texture and flavor to the drinks :) I loved the interior and the atmosphere of Deep Dive as well. A great spot for a small group of friends or it's a great date spot as well. You should put your name on the list and prepare to wait at least 2 hours ish but you can go get some dinner and eat and they text you when the table is ready! Classy, modern, fun! I absolutely loved everything about this bar. The service was exceptional and we really enjoyed the music here as well. We were here for the last seating around 11:30 and they close at midnight but we stayed until around 12:30am. Will be back for more! ;) read more

This place is such an Amazon inside joke for the tech bros and it reeks of tech bro privilege. Want to come deep dive under Bezos's Balls? Crude jokes aside, I'm a tech gal and this place is actually pretty good for cocktails! Taste, ice, container, garnish choices all consummate with what goes in a proper cocktail. At $17 a drink it's $1 cheaper than similar bars in Cap Hill. I love the grotesque weird old timey decor but everything in there is fake. They can bring it up a notch if they replace the fake dead animals with real taxidermy and make some real Victorian hair wreaths. I took a photo of a pair of fake hands holding an interesting object. I thoroughly enjoyed the creations here though and sitting at the bar and watching the bartender whipping egg white with a latte wand and setting whiskey on fire is a treat! They have some non alcoholic creations made with Seedlip I will have to try next time. I think this bar is on par with my other 2 favorite speakeasy places in Seattle (Foreign national and Rob Roy) with drinks that fit every palate. read more

We watched as other people got seated even though they were walk-ins. We were there was a delay for our table meanwhile other groups were told they could be seated immediately. We were seated almost 45 minutes after while 5 other groups got seated. All white by the way. Our group of 3 (Asian American) after being seated, was almost immediately forgotten as we watched the other same groups from earlier be catered and taken care of. This place is so gorgeous but I didn't rate it 5 stars because it's incredibly expensive. I've been to lots of fancy bars in New York/LA/etc. but honestly these cocktail prices at Deep Dive are really charged at a premium even compared to those bars. On the bright side: loved the insanely long drink selection. The fact that their drink menu has a table of contents is pretty cool, and their drinks all seem super interesting and fun to try. This spot is super flexible as well. I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu, so I told the waiter my preferences and he literally gave me a new drink to try that was specific to my tastes. It was a great experience and I really liked my drink (as well as my friend's drink). The place is also so pretty. I love the dark interior, the decorations, and really everything about the design of this place. The service here is wonderful, and of course, ambience is really great. Incredible dimly lit bar below the spheres. Exceptional cocktails, decor, and ambiance

Tucked under the Amazon spheres lies a secret little spot...You probably would quickly walk past it and you probably haven't ever heard of it till you did a search. Some of my friends that work in the nearby building never heard of it till a friend and I went there for a nightcap after dinner one evening. Needless to say, reservations are generally required, but you could get lucky. Deep Dive is one of those oasis that take you away from the world and transports you somewhere else. The intimate and well-decorated space takes you to a bygone era where the roaring 20s met the 90s with the beautiful decorative touches and the soft music playing the background. It's largely setup for intimate gatherings, not some place you go to party. They have a small food and dessert menu, but the drink selection is bound to overwhelm. Don't hesitate to ask the staff for help or guidance. They clearly know their stuff and the bartenders are not afraid to try to make something new for you to suit your tastes. They know their stuff. I always like to start with an old fashioned to sent a tone and see what they are about. Deep Dive's was nothing to sneer at and it was a well balanced drink. Simple and clean flavors that all build upon each other to make a very nice selection. The Vesper was next up and the use of Japanese vodka and gin was a surprising balance that had a nice flavor that I wasn't expecting from two very clean flavored liquors. Anyone who has watched Seinfeld has seen the episode about the Soup Nazi. Here's a story about a bar Nazi. Tried to go here for drinks on Fri. I say tried, because we were kicked out for asking for a chair. And this is before any drinks were poured. We had a reservation for 4pm (not a very busy hour) for 6 people. They brought us to an alcove that had a love seat (supposed to sit 4 people, but seats 3 people uncomfortably) and 2 arm chairs. We squeezed 3 people onto the love seat and asked a server for a chair for body #6. A chair was brought. After looking at the menu, we soon were to learn the expensive drinks would not match the service we were about to receive. Once 3rd person was done with sitting uncomfortably on the love seat, we picked up a chair from a nearby table (there were many empties) and now we were 6 people comfortably seated. We ordered drinks. The male manager walked up and told us we couldn't use the chair. One of us then sat on the floor to continue our conversation since the chair was confiscated. Manager didn't like our tone when we mentioned the seating wasn't really for 6 people. He became like a spoiled little child who decided the game was over. He told us he was canceling our drink order and we had to leave. We were incredulous! Manager walked behind us as we left the bar, presumably to show us how much power he had over us. I can understand that the bar Nazi is attempting an exclusive vibe by ejecting people for no reason, but that's a great reason to avoid such an insecure, inauthentic place. With many, many other 1 star reviews about this guy, we are disappointed that ownership chooses to keep him around. read more

I really cannot recommend this more! This bar is so gorgeous - It really does feel like you stepped back into time to find yourself in a legit speakeasy! We had no idea this place even existed until our Uber driver told us about it. So we wandered to the Spheres and found the door for it. Keep in mind that you should probably be somewhat dressed up, at least not in sports gear when walking into the bar. I think someone was supposed to seat us when we walked in, but there was a bit of confusion because they were switching shifts. So we sauntered in and took the private library room. They didn't kick us out, so that was good. :) That room is gorgeous and could easily fit a small group of 6. Me and my girl took the bartender's recommendation on the trio appetizer - some fantastic cheesy crackers, olives, and spiced nuts. We didn't want to eat too much on account we were headed to dinner later. I had the Clover Club to start - Creamy, citrusy with a hit of raspberry. My favorite was the Queen's Park Swizzle - minty citrus, with bitters and rum. All so good. Thing to note: They do charge a 20% surcharge on all bills. That covers tip so you don't have to tip on top of that. I think that's reasonable since you are going out to a fancier place. We went on a Sunday around 7 PM and it wasn't busy at all. I think it might be kind of busy on a weeknight due to the office spaces in the area. read more

It has an intimate atmosphere. More for small groups or pairs, not for big rowdy groups. One plus for this place was their bathrooms.
