This is the best restaurant in waterside. All of the seafood is local and fresh. The service is on point. They have terrific seating options indoor and outdoor on the lake. The fried fish is something you must not sleep on. I definitely recommend this as it was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We have eaten here about 10 times in the past 6 months, always with good service and always with good food. So we were meeting another couple there for lunch on Sunday, June 12th and we got there around 11:45 am ..........literally saw no one in the lobby for 7 minutes then a server happened to see us. If this were the first time here we would have left and never come back. It's the little things.........our server kind of sucked, never asked for a refill on my Coke, took 15 minutes after we received our food to see if everything was alright. I asked for ranch dressing for my fries when I ordered which didn't come with the meal and since our server didn't come by for 15 minutes after being served it was to late. I've had the oysters 7 or 8 times ALWAYS delicious, Always but not today. You would think the people who brought the food would have known they were terribly overcooked by how dark the breading was in the folds of the oyster. They sucked but no one came around to ask so we just blew $51 on a shitty meal. When it comes to tipping I always start at 20% and work up which after this experience that will change. We were greeted when we arrived and walked the expansive yet beautifully decorated restaurant/ bar to our party. Manager Gina came by to check on everything/ everyone-- and I saw her doing the same later on for others in the restaurant--friendly, involved and obviously the staff has followed her lead with positivity, excellent service and pride in working here. Fabulous lunch. Food was amazing and service was excellent. I ordered way too much food bc everything sounded delicious. And then I couldn't eat it all. If you're like me and don't like seafood, the options include Petite Filet, Ribeye or Chicken Marsala. They have great Happy Hour with many cocktails or wine options. We had a lovely time celebrating my stepmom's birthday here! It's always nice to eat outside by the water. We started with the crab rangoons which are killer. They aren't oily and have a decent amount of crab in them. I learned that Deep Lagoon has their own fishing boats so they get the freshest seafood. The scallops were incredible. They had the perfect crust, were succulent inside, and came with a delicious sauce. They came with 7 scallops which was a pretty generous portion and the sauce was to die for. My only suggestion would be to serve a vegetable that complimented the scallops - the brussel sprouts that came with it had a balsamic glaze that would be delicious with another dish but overpowered the scallops' delicate flavor. The chocolate cake is huge and can easily be a dessert for 5 people. They served it with a sparkler for her birthday celebration which was very festive and nice. The location is great and the decor is refreshing. The host was welcoming and the staff were really nice. As far as our food, my sister in law and I were not impressed or pleased with our meals. Service was decent as we sat at the bar and were greeted nicely. The bartender served our drinks and took our order and offered us bread. He came back and told us they weren't ready just yet, but they'd be right out. He ended up going off to begin cleaning/closing out the bar, which is understandable, but he didn't come back to check on us. The other gentleman who came over was really sweet and accommodating with a great personality. He offered us more drinks, which we then proceeded to ask for some bread. Bread came out hot and fresh. They were so soft and delicious. Say yes to the bread. The bread is good... We love bread. Lol! Once our food came out, my sister in law noticed that her salad was missing a few things. There was no avocado, no mozzarella balls, and hardly any balsamic on her salad. They literally sprinkled shredded cheese mix on the salad. No effort was made for that salad. Lol. We informed the bartender, he looked to the menu for assurance, then apologized, and would go talk with the kitchen. Instead of offering for the salad to be remade, he just brought out the mozzarella balls and extra balsamic dressing. We appreciated the gesture. As far as the captains platter, I enjoyed how the Brussels sprouts were made and how lightly the batter was on the shrimp, scallops, and grouper. The butter whipped mashed potatoes were a dud. Ya girl was starving so I did eat my food. Lol. That was the only meal I had that day (not on purpose, just had a long day). We ordered a couple of entrees and drinks and the wait time was appropriate. We ordered a shrimp entree and a triple tail entree, and affogatos for dessert. The triple tail was good, FYI, not a beer-battered type crust, my rice was average, but done properly, the coconut shrimp and sweet potato mash was tasty I was told. The broccoli on the plate was not a winner (firm and underwhelming). Our affogato was decent, but I'm questioning if it was made with espresso and the ice cream was almost melted. First time here we sat at the bar to have dinner. The bartender was very engaging very helpful. Very nice. We started off with the calamari. The batter on the calamari was absolutely delicious. Full of flavor. Calamari was cooked perfect and the dipping sauce was very nice. I got the tuna poke bowl, which was delicious. However, the cuts on the tuna were horrible. There was long strings of strung together tuna, and some cut nicely and then the rice 1/2 of the rice was cooked perfectly. The other half was hard and clumpy. We sat outside just before sunset, and the setup was super cute--great view of the lake and a nice breeze, so it actually felt really comfortable even in the summer. We tried their summer dinner special where you get two entrées and $30 off a bottle of wine--such a good deal. The oysters were fresh and hit the spot, and the hogfish tacos were solid. Service was definitely on the slower side. It didn't bother us since we weren't in a rush, but if you're looking for something quick, just know it's more of a laid-back pace. The server came over and went over the menu ... and there is much on the menu from which to choose it was difficult as it all sounded good. We started with happy hour wine selection which were really good (no skimping here). The gumbo was some of the best my husband has had as it was filled with fish and not rice. We both ordered hogfish as we have never tried it before. Both entrees had different preparations so they looked completely different. I took home a slice of key lime pie so I can continue my quest of comparing versions from different places. We have dinner here at 7:30pm on a Saturday night with group of 8 with reservation, and we were seated outside table close to the water. The view is great! And since we already had some appetizer at home before we came, everyone kinda of ordered one light dish, so i had the mussel, oh, their mussel is great, tender juicy and the sauce is great too! Service is prompt and attentive. Husband had their chef's platter with all kinds of seafood. Taste good, but light on the presentation. We thought it could be a two person dish to share, but it end up the quantity is about for one person. Ultimately we made it work anyway. It's a lovely place, and seems very popular among locals. Well all I can say is this place has changed. Not for the good that's for sure. Terrible service, dirty glasses, food proportions have incredibly reduced in size and did I mention.. bad oysters. My husband and I are both so sick. The place on a Friday night wasn't bust at all. That should have been our first indication but thought we'd try it again. Well I can say we will never try it again. They asked to take our water glasses away 5 times since they ran out. There are so many other seafood restaurants that excel, provide more than 4 small onion rings and serve fresh oysters. Save your money and your stomach! By the way the bright lights over the bar will blind you and the over served patrons singing for the whole restaurant to hear should be another indicator that management is absent. Shame! read more

Fabulous experience last night. When I made the reservation I added in comments that it was a "celebration of life" dinner. My friend's dad's funeral was the day before. They gave us a table by the water, offered free desserts, manager stopped by the table and presented a condolence card. Way above and beyond!! And all our meals were perfectly prepared and delicious. Well walking in the atmosphere is wonderful bright overlooking the lake. The food was either overcooked or tasted like it came from a bag. I sent my meal back and didn't even want anything else to eat it was suppose a family dinner for my son's graduation and it turned out to be nothing more than a disappointment. Flies are in the restaurant said something to my server I got a laugh and then they brought what looked like a fan machine from Temu to repel the flies mind you we were sitting inside excuse was we have outside seating. The prices are way too expensive for the quality. I would rate this place close to a red lobster or long John silvers. We ordered one final drink and it had a love bug in it.. Get it we live in Florida but comes down to the bar tender,server and manger double checking the product they are making.Once again we were also seated inside. The manger has no idea what's going on in his restaurant from the wait time to the food quality whole heartedly the restaurant is beyond miss managed. There were four of us, and we sampled a variety of the happy hour-priced hors d'oeuvres and drink specials. We tried most of the menu and especially enjoyed the sliders and volcano shrimp. We dined here tonight after all the hype. The restaurant was super hot and the sun was beating in our eyes. I did like the decor at least but smelt fishy as you walked in. My mom ordered the Oscar grouper and it had no flavor or crab meat. The broccoli was hard as a rock. I ordered the hogfish and it looked like fried eggs, it was hard, covered in bones, and so fishy tasting, The Brussels weren't crispy but mushy. The mashed potatoes were like box. My kids got fries and they were nothing like pinchers (suggest they get those). Overall it's nothing special but over priced seafood. I ordered some shrimp bc I was starving thinking they would just charge me the 13 for those but they kept pushing dessert and free stuff but never took the hogfish of 39 off my bill. We arrived at the beautiful clean Waterside establishment on a quiet Monday evening and took seats at an empty inside bar location at 6:30pm. We were greeted by familiar professional, friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable bartender Mike and served waters and asked our questions about various specials and a couple menu items before ordering our selections and libations. The food was good. The wines were a good value and satisfying.The service from Mike was appropriate considering he was the only bartender in attendance for the whole restaurant at that time of the evening. The hostess said he couldn't sit our two top at a table for four against the water because of a reservation ( we also had a reservation) so he sat us at a table made for 7 people.
