We went to AMI for the day to check it out . It was pretty cold so wasn't sure if this was the best location being it was mostly outside , there was a 45 min wait but we decided to stick it out ... Wow - we were glad we did . Of course the location on the beach is undeniably beautiful. They also had a cool little walk up area for the bar outside and some seating on the beach while you wait for your table which made the wait painless . They had a decent beer and wine selection , I peeked at the cocktail list which looked decent as well. They really tried to embody the Florida we all know and love with localish spirits and beer . When we got to the table , we were a little salty we waited more than 45 min to be backed up in a corner but we had great service . The food was really good too, the red snapper blacked was very well done and you could tell it truly was good fresh local fish. Soups were so so . The little neck clams were also delicious , but that was the only dish i thought was extremely overpriced . There were maybe a dozen clams and it was approx ~$20. Lastly - shout out to their valet . It was great to have free parking while visiting this establishment. Overall great experience.

Great location on the beach. The scallops and fried shrimp were great. The focaccia bread they bring out is also delicious.

The food was good but o think this is a great place to catch the sunset and have drinks by the bar or outside.

Found this place because of my Yelp community! It is a little hole in the wall, dive (which are…read moreoften the best places!) just a couple of blocks from Siesta Key Beach. It would be completely a miss on your map. We waited for a long time for a table, well past what we were quoted. There's not a lot of tables inside and a couple of bar seats. It is very small, we almost left, and the host said he would bring us food if we wanted to go next door and grab a drink. But it was well worth the wait. The host as well as our server were so friendly, so laid-back definitely beach vibes. They talked to us about how the owner was originally from upper Northeast came down and opened up the shop and they all were friends and worked together. You felt a great sense of a family to the staff. He recommended the grouper Reuben, which, maybe to some of you sounds kind of gross, but it was literally the best fish sandwich. I think I've ever had in my life. And i grew up on and still eat a lot of seafood. It was melted cheese. The fish was fresh. It was packed with fish, just enough sauerkraut and thousand Island to give it just a hint of Reuben. The fish remained the star and the bread was incredible too! The environment as you can see from my pictures it's just what you would expect a surf shack type of place to be and you literally could walk from the beach although we did drive after being at the beach all day. Highly highly recommend 10/10! Seek this place out if you're ever in Sarasota in Siesta Key Beach, it is the best and so fresh you won't regret it.

Not a ton of good food options around this area but this place is a gem. Small little fish market…read morewith a restaurant that probably seats no more than 20? A few community tables so make sure you don't mind that. Service is a little gruff but that fits the vibe of this local fish market. We got the clam chowder, the peel and eat shrimp, and split a grouper sandwich, and a few beers. The clam chowder was tasty. Good meaty and creamy flavor. Comes out piping hot. The peel and eat shrimp was fantastic. Whatever sauce they use on it, a cajun, buttery, garlicky sauce was just amazing. Definitely worth getting if you like that kind of thing. The grouper sandwich was good. It needed a little bit of salt but I can see why this is a specialty here. Tender meat, good sauce. Definitely a top seafood spot if you're looking for something less tourist-y.

Another staple of our time in siesta key is hitting up the siesta key oyster bar. Ironic cuz I…read moredon't eat oysters I'm simply there for the smash burgers. Skob is always packed. Always. But there's a reason behind this. The owner is on site quite a bit it's nice to see him. While the place certainly has quite a few miles on it mostly because it keeps getting beat up during hurricanes it bounces back. Feel free to bring a dollar and staple a dollar to the ceiling or if you're a copper firefighter bring your patch and they will hang it proudly. When I'm on vacation I like my food very simple. A simple double smashburger and fries 100% does me in. For servers are definitely all smiling another staple and not really an expectation but I'm so glad to see it. My wife got a chicken quesadilla not really adventurous again for the same reason. The beers are cold the servers are beautiful and everything is right with the world when I can sit down at siesta key oyster bar.

Plus who doesn't like cheaper raw oysters from 3-6PM EVERYDAY??! Servers were friendly and efficient. I like how you can nail a written on dollar bill on the wall. It's a cute, interactive idea. Raw oysters 10/10: Juicy, flavorful. Fresh. Everything oysters should be. I could've easily slammed 2 dozen by myself. Po Boy Oyster 10/10: This was fried the best considering we went to other restaurants and ordered the same dish. We'd be happy to have this meal again. Seafood quesadilla 8/10: Can't go wrong with this! I have a small appetite but still almost ate the whole thing.
