I tried to order before, but I didn't have enough notice to pull off the exact order we needed. I received exemplary service that time and want to thank Ricardo for working so hard to pull it together last minute. We usually get catering from a competitor, but Paul matched the price of our normal order, plus gave us a free gallon of tea. The delivery person set everything up with labels, serving items, and utensils. He was very nice as well. The whole process was very professional, well executed, and I received awesome customer service. The communication was prompt and all costs were outlined in an email within minutes. Absolutely amazing. We got the small family pack which came with a pound of meat, three sides, and gigantic servings of cornbread. We lost our minds over the tender brisket, the jalapeno mac and cheese, hush puppies, and cowboy beans. We have recently relocated to RVA and I think we've found our go to bbq place! We ordered a couple pulled pork sandwiches, a pulled chicken sandwich, both flavored wings, catfish, hush puppies, collard greens and fries. My son ordered some wings and didn't get the total count and I went back up to ask about it. The owner of the store I'm assuming, threw more in the fryer and it was no problem at all. Good beer in bottles, two booths plus two tables outside, a la carte menu on the chalkboard. Tried the fish taco to start, breaded fillet, nice relish. Dishes served in brown cardboard on top of aluminum baking trays, nice touch. Three sauces, all too sweet, cherry bourbon nice, Carolina mustard good and tart. Had to hangout, so got half a rack of ribs, three sides. Mac and cheese very smooth, tasty (not floury as one review stated). Collard greens best we EVER had, didn't need vinegar! Slaw very crisp and tart, not too sweet, a 9! The ribs were not smothered with the cherry bourbon sauce, very meaty, good smoke rind, one of our best ever....... Will be back! read more

From the first tasting to the wedding day; they stayed in contact with us weekly and made sure everything was straight for day of. They worked with our budget (And their prices were the best out of all the places we tried). Our wedding plans changed a lot due to COVID and they were able to accommodate a date and venue change without any trouble. I asked for some vinegar and mixed all of them together. Attractive storefront, but the restaurant is located in an out-of-the-way almost deserted small shopping center. While the BBQ was good, the atmosphere of the restaurant inside feels void of warmth and personality. I have tried the brisket, chicken, and beef in a variety of options. My favorite is the BBQ platter with green beans and black beans and rice. The nachos are a good selection as well but best enjoyed with others as it is a huge platter! This place is very kid friendly with the dishes and the ambiance. I am not exaggerating when I say these are the best wings I've had in the area. I am a wing lover. The spicy buffalo is the kind I tried. They have some spice, but not overwhelming. They are not like the traditional orange sauce that comes out on your wings. When you bite into these things it is pure wing magic. It has the crispness without the breading and then it's tender meaty glorious flavor. It's a must. I also had a brisket sandwich mixed lean and fat. That too was delicious. Having spoken with manager and their explanation, as we had split the order between buns and cornbread. The cornbread was almost gone too, as it is very good. Probably amounts of BBQ served should of been larger . We didn't use Deep Run Roadhouse employees to serve the food, and the people we had serving were probably conservative with the portions. This is our community BBQ joint and it is definitely a trip for those out-of-townies who are coming based strictly on the reviews. This place is in a neighborhood, a quiet strip shopping mall. There isn't much to see around, unless you are a competitive swimmer visiting the pool next door for a swim meet. We cleared everything in the menu here and their brisket sammiches have been reviewed enough. This review is about their lesser well known, not-always widely public, smoked turkey order for the holidays. As I am writing this, I can figuratively smell the smoke, sweet molasses, and their spices on the skin of that turkey. The turkey I'm reviewing is from last Thanksgiving. If you are a lazy cook like me, then Deep Run's smoked turkey is a great option for a takeout, especially if your family has gone through both Popeye's and Bo's turkeys and know that you could not inject that much cajun flavor yourself. The smoked turkey came fully cooked in its juices, hot, and transporting was a dangerous mess. Clean your car before arrival. I don't really know the kind of spices they put on the turkey, but it is reminiscent of something you'd find in a honey ham. It is very well smoked, it is very good! I had a very hard time NOT biting into this bird before the rest of the dinner was set. It is not juicy like aforementioned chain restaurants' manufactured turkey, but this is much better than your Aunt Betty who had to cook three of them at one and almost always have dry breasts sliced up for you to douse in the gravy. I did like the BBQ sauce on the Spare Ribs, but again, with them being like warm...not appealing. Looked foreword to the Roasted Sweet Potatoes. They too were warm and nothing spectacular.
