I do not recommend this business. They recommended scaling for my 70 lb, 90 year old mom who can't walk. When she asked instead to have a regular cleaning instead they were rude and reluctant, but allowed the appointment. Upon arrival we were told we were late, and that's true. Sometimes getting my mom to an appointment at her age and frailty takes time. What was bad was the super nasty way it was done. I don't think I've ever been treated that way and it's hard to see your ailing mom treated so poorly. My conclusion was that they wanted the high money for the scaling, were angry that we were "only" getting a cleaning. Then when we came late they "got us back". Try another dentist. I actually think the dentist himself was ok, but it was the front office staff person (hired by the dentist) was kind of pathetic. read more

I would only recommend Deer Park Dental if you only ever need cleanings and nothing more. The hygienists are great and Pauline who runs the office is truly wonderful and knows exactly what's going on at all times and is extremely helpful. Dr. Czarnecki did 2 fillings for me which was so poorly done, he had to re-do the one, prescribe me steroids, only to have Dr. Privatsky re-do the filling a 3rd time. Which thankfully, after 5 visits to the office, Dr. Privatsky did a wonderful job and definitely recommend him since after he did it, all issues went away instantly. Fast forward to my last cleaning I find out that they need to re-do the other filling Dr. Czarnecki originally did 3 months prior. If I didn't keep my records, I would never have known it was the same tooth being re-done. The fact that every filling Dr. Czarnecki did for me had to be re-done, I will never be coming back to Deer Park Dental. You simply can't trust them and I spent thousands of dollars on work that couldn't be completed right the first time or the 2nd for that matter. Again, Pauline is incredible and can't thank her enough for everything she has done. Just recommend running as far away from Dr. Czarnecki as possible. read more

DEER PARK DENTAL - "DENTAL HYGENISTS FROM HELL" About two years ago I scheduled a cleaning with the head dental Hygienist, and since she was off that day, I was scheduled with Jenna. As I arrived for a routine cleaning, I politely told my dental hygienist that I do not like x-rays and am trying to "minimize my exposure to radiation". I stated that I wanted the minimum number of x-rays possible. I say this in any medical setting where x-rays are involved. I requested the head hygienist (Karen), but since she was unavailable, I was sent to Jenna for cleaning. During the evaluation with the piezo, Jenna started digging the instrument deep into the gum and, like she was trying to see how far it would go down during the measurement process, during one deep probe she stated "See, you do not know what could be wrong under the gums without x-rays" and continued to push to the point of discomfort. This is before the cleaning began. Someone came in and asked me to sign an x-ray refusal form, which I did, I stated that I wanted to have a copy, Jenna stood up and walked out then she came back in, obviously frustrated about me not getting the x-rays. I asked to speak with Dr Privatsky, which I was allowed to. I stated that I wanted to stop the cleaning with Jenna, she was the only one available for me to see that day. I did not feel comfortable letting her continue doing anything in my mouth. She has since left the practice, and I fully understand why. Fast forward to 2022. I needed my teeth cleaned, and I have had one good experience with Karen (who quit), so I decided to schedule a visit anyways. The receptionist left me a message, texted and called me two times before the visit to inform me that I could see Rosanne, and that Karen is not available. I did not ever see her ever before, but I wanted to ensure it was not the same hygienist who I had the last time, so I called to confirm it was not Jenna. I scheduled and the receptionist assured me - stating she had been there for "awhile" meaning a few years. I got to the appointment on time, was brought to the chair in back and fitted with a bib and sunglasses. Rosanne entered the room and immediately stated that I need 18 x-rays before I get my teeth cleaned, it is required for a cleaning today, In other words, if I did not get the X-ray, I would not get my teeth cleaned - a clear ultimatum. I could tell by her tone and that fact that the receptionist called me two times, that she read something from former employee (now gone) Jenna, who is no longer at the practice about me not liking x-rays! I stated I wanted to speak with Dr. P, to see if half or at least fewer or half x-rays could be done. She stated "Typically, the dentist will see you after the cleaning" in other words, she did not want me to speak with him. I allowed the 18 X-rays to be taken and during the X-rays, Rosanne took the X-ray device out of my mouth, while simultaneously looking asway from my face (intentionally It seemed), so that the instrument contacted my teeth on the way out. I did the total of 18 x-rays. I did not complain about this unprofessional and potentially damaging method of removing the x-ray equipment, I just wanted them to be over with. Rosanna stated the cleaning using the Cavitron (an ultrasonic cleaning device, with a water pic) which I was totally fine with, and it seemed like it might be a normal cleaning --- Until Rosanne abruptly stopped cleaning and said, I need more water for the cavitron. She removed the water reservoir from under the counter and walked to fill is, oddly enough, there was half a tank of water in the reservoir! What seemed like 10 minutes, later, she came back reattached it and tried to proceed with the cleaning. Now, the cavitron was no longer working! She requested help from Nicole and they both tried to fix the Cavitron, but were unable to, I sat patiently with bib and sunglasses on waiting for my teeth to be cleaned. I even suggested how to fix it. I did not want a manual scaling, which they suggested and the Cavitron was broken. 3 dental hygienists came into the room and asked me to reschedule. The chair right next to me was open and the cavitron was working so I suggested moving me over to the next chair to complete my cleaning. That is when Tammy started getting angry and got close to me (as I was sitting calmly in my dental chair) raised her voice at me stating "I heard that had a problem with you in the past", I could detect rage in her voice. I said why don't you give me your name, I wanted to talk with the office manager at the front who I spoke with at the start of my visit. Then she was really angered, and Tammy stated loudly "I'll give you my Name, my Number, and my Husband's phone number and 2 sons Numbers!" I asked, "Is that a threat?", The other hygienists could hear, and I know there was at least one more patient in the office getting their teeth cleaned who heard the entire conversation. I've been a patient at Deer Park Dental for four years. The administrative staff is always courteous and helpful, the hygienists are very friendly and efficient, and Dr. Privatsky is an excellent dentist who takes the time to explain in a way that is easy to understand. It's obvious that he's very passionate about his job and taking care of his patients. There was one time Dr. Privatsky was unable to see me due to performing an unscheduled procedure and Dr. Thakrar was very helpful in his absence. The office is also outfitted with impressive technology. There are screens above every chair that show x-rays and images of your teeth. When I had a cavity filled, Dr. Privatsky displayed an image of my tooth that showed the size and location of the cavity and then the filling afterwards. As someone who is forgetful, i also appreciate that they send text and email reminders of your appointments, and even automatically add them to my google calendar. read more

My 3 and 4 year olds had appointments today with 30 minutes in between each. I got there late for the first appointment (my fault), but to my surprise, they stated the hygienist would not see either child because I didn't get there within the 20-minute buffer time. Extremely disappointed in my treatment today. My second child would not have been seen by the 20-minute buffer time anyway so not sure why they would not still honor that appointment. She said she would reschedule my kids, but after this, I would never go back there. What a terrible first impression. read more

I have been going to Deer Park Dental since they were in Arlington Heights. Yes, I actually drive 30 minutes to see my outstanding dentist, Dr. Bruce Privatsky, and his terrific staff. Where to start? Dr. P is the best dentist I have ever had and I have had some wonderful dentists (almost all from Loyola Dental School). The best. I have teeth that misbehave...due to nature/genetics and my lust for ultra crunchy foods. Yes, I have chipped and fractured my teeth. I say never again until I see the next crunchy thing. Anyway, I've had crowns, bonding, replacement fillings, extractions, dental implants, bleaching...and Invisalign. Except for the inplant, Dr. P has my teeth looking and feeling great. Highlights: Dr P is patient, caring, gentle and a complete professional. Top notch in what he does. Brenda runs the front of the house...from making appointments to working with your insurance to get things covered. Her work saves me $ and time and headache. Karen keeps my teeth sparkling clean. I love getting my teeth cleaned by her. They look and feel amazing after. Karen remembers my favorite flavor of tooth polish and makes sure she has it in stock. Due to dual insurance, we were able to get our teeth cleaned 4 times a year and took advantage of it thanks to Brenda who handled the insurance like a pro. Kasha is the best dental assistant ever. She's not there anymore (boo hoo) but she held my hand through all my adventures in chipping and fracturing teeth and all the Invisalign treatments. It's a great practice so I have had good experiences with the new dental assistant too. I've referred friends to Dr P and they feel the same way that I do. This is the nicest dentist office I've ever been in! Very comforting atmosphere with dark wood accents, marble counters, very comfy chairs, and current reading materials. I felt like I was in someone's swank North Shore mansion. Dr. Privatsky is very patient-oriented and helps to describe any issues you may have in layman's terms. The hygienists and assistants are also very nice and knowledgeable. The equipment is all brand spanking new and very high tech. I was looking at my xrays on the flat panel monitor while in the chair. The little mouth rinse thingy even had warm water, which was nice and soothing on my poor teeth and gums. You can watch a movie or TV while you are in the chair as well! read more

During a seminar a few years back I was asked if I could think of a service provider that offered excellent service. I quickly noted: 'Yes. My dentist - I've been going to him for many years.' I saw a couple of negative reviews below and felt that my experience at Deer Park Dental with Dr. Bruce and Dr. Sam has been the exact opposite! Their office is just recently remodeled and their staff are super friendly. When it comes to the procedures, they have you in and out very quickly and have all questions answered. I highly recommend this dental group for children and adults. Dr. Bruce & Dr. Sam are extremely thorough and most importantly, painless! My daughter just had fillings done there for the first time (she's went 20 years cavity free..) and I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Dr. Sam. He called me himself to make she was fine and we were happy. Excellence is the word I would use to describe their services, staff and environment (the latest equipment and a gorgeous office). Everyone there is friendly and welcoming - eliminating any fear of being there! I've had a lot of dental work done over the years, this is the best practice by far! It's very welcoming, clean and nicely decorated. Our Dental Hygienist, Karen, is phenomenal We can't say enough about our Dentist also, Dr. Privatsky.
