The folks at Ace Hardware in Deerfield are first-class all the way. I went to buy a replacement for my very old Weber Genesis and my buying experience was superb. Later, as it turns out, I paid a little more than the online price and when I called to request the difference, I was amazed at how amenable the manager was to making it right. He said just come in and we will take care of it. I bought my grill on a Sunday and it was delivered the next day! Jim and Frank polished it, attached my propane tank and... wait for it...when I tried to tip they wouldn't accept it saying we are just happy to have your business. You can be sure with that kind of service, start to finish, I will be shopping at Ace from now on, racking up my Ace rewards but honestly, I've been rewarded already. i bought some special order gutters from this Ace. I bought these gutters at Home Depot ten years ago and they no longer carry these gutters. I just needed to make some simple repairs. I went to ace and they were able to special order them. The reps were very helpful and really took the time to dig in and find these gutters for me. Very helpful great customer service. I'm surprised at all these negative reviews but if you look at the dates, the reviews are 4 yrs old. I think this Ace has turned things around and I recommend them. read more

Everytime I come down to enjoy our beach condo, I need something for upkeep. I DO NOT go to any big-box home store but instead go to ACE in DEERFIELD. I am immediately greeted by someone who asks if I need help. And I always do. Today I had my 5th bad experience at this store . I keep going back because it's close to my house but I am fed up now. This is in regards to the manager named boz . I just dont understand a store that advertises customer service to be so blatantly contrary. I was returning an ace product with a reciept that says its guaranteed right on the package. The item broke in less than 30 days. The manager overided the clerk then gave me hard time , told me to wait while he was too busy to get off facebook and when I said I have a baby in the car he told me to take my item and leave . I asked why the bad attitude and he did not reply just continued to scowl at me . Then he proceeded to ask me what and why I used the product for . So I went out to the car and got my kid .came back in. No accountability he flipped the transaction back to the clerk and stomped away. Ace wingmen arent there to help you at this store. This place reminds me of the traditional hardware stores back in Brooklyn, N.Y about 40 years ago. You walk in and you are asked what you are looking for. Then they direct you to an isle and have a knowledgeable salesperson meet you to assist. I went in for a plumbing part and it only took 10 minutes total in the store then I was on my way. Home Depot or Lowe's may be less expensive but my time is worth more. read more

Stopped in today. Saw alcohol for $35.00 per gallon. WTF? They just lost a customer.

I had bought hand sanitizer a couple months ago when everyone was especially in dire need. After days of promising it was due in and then finally arriving I bought a few bottles at $12 each for family and neighbors. It had no alcohol!! It was like rubbing oil on you hands. When I tried to return a bottle the Manager Gene said he wouldn't take it back because it was opened. HOW ELSE WOULD I HAVE KNOWN IT WAS NO GOOD? I HAD USED ONE PUMP'S WORTH. My husband and I walked into Ace Hardware in Deerfield Beach, Fl., location on a late Saturday afternoon to buy a gas grill. We received outstanding customer service from Bill and Jerry, both were extremely knowledgeable and patient, about the grills were were looking at, and did not push us into making a decision they wanted us to make, but gave us the facts to make an informed decision. Both Bill and Jerry were friendly and courteous, and a pleasure to speak with. We are so pleased with our purchase (Napoleon gas grill). And the Ace team, built the grill, delivered the grill and hauled the old grill free of charge! Don't walk, run to this store. Even if you don't need anything you will find something because they have everything you need in a hardware store. You are warmly greeted when you enter the store. The efficient, friendly and cooperative staff will show you exactly where you need to go to find what you want. We have shopped at Ace Hardware stores for many years and have never been disappointed. Today we drove to the Deerfield store since it was open on Sunday. This store goes way above and beyond even the highest standards that typically is experienced in any store. First, the store is jam packed full - making it somewhat like a kid exploring a candy store. But with all the various options of products, things are organized and there are employees around every turn who greet you, assist you, and offer friendly advice. They are all extremely knowledgeable about their products. The cashiers move things along quickly as there were many people in the store on this particular Sunday. All employees had on their masks, were using the provided hand sanitizer, and had appropriate measures in place for the customers to have a safe experience. Ace is definitely the place - particularly the one in Deerfield Beach. The manager and team deserve kudos for a job well done. There is a marked difference between the shopping experience at Ace as compared to the BIGGER but certainly not better chain stores. Thank you. read more

Okay let's start by saying how wonderful the whole staff is in Deerfield beach Ace when I walk in I don't feel like I'm in Home Depot anymore lol so my wonderful story is I was have trouble getting a key for my Kia Optima well I called Chris behind the key counter the day before and it was like I had set up and apt with key wizard I came in and we cut three keys and they worked liked magic talk about a savings if you have any trouble with home repair and what not these are the guys to go to not big corporate America I went to Home Depot before this actually 2 and they could help me out but the little guy could totally blown away and i am a resident of Deerfield Beach I haven't been over to the orchard nor will I step foot in there I found my place for home improvement read more

I run a fishing tournament called the Trash Can Slam and all the benefits go to the Autism cluster for Deerfield Beach Elementary School. For about three years, I have asked ACE Hardware in Deerfield Beach to donate a silver trash can. I am also an artist and I paint on this trash can. The winners of the TCS receive it, with a bunch of goodies in it. This is an essential part of my tournament, because everyone wants to win the Trash can! Yet again Ace solves a problem other hardware stores could not! Turns out we needed some super specialized key size for our back gate. Ace had it and cut multiple in just a few minutes. They also had "sprinkler donuts" made out of concrete, not plastic (have no idea how plastic could possibly survive the lawnmower). Bonus: fantastically flavorful bbq seasonings. Had an issue with one of my screen door rollers. Frank so graciously offered to help me find the part I would need. Unfortunately the part was not available at the store. Frank made another attempt to order online and no success. Frank did some thinking and figured out an alternate solution. Came home to install the screen door roller and it worked perfect!! Tried connecting my bbq grill to my home 100 gal propane tank but attachments didn't seem to fit. Stopped by Ace to get right parts. They didn't sell the connectors but Their service area put my connectors into a vice and boom they fit. Appears the issue was the connector being stuck after non use for a year. Therefore nothing to buy but they still helped me. This wasn't the first time they have helped me with an issue I had and didn't require me to buy anything. Great friendly service as always. I'm in a similar business in Canada. Our company has 500 stores across the country and one of my functions is staff training. This was my very first Ace that I visited this year. Their customer focus was on me and my needs. My sales person was product savvy and willing to listen to exactly what my needs were. All the other staff that I spoke to were also very accommodating. I knew that the staff were good when I spoke with the cashiers and customer service. They smiled, engaged me and made my transaction complete by asking if I got everything that I wanted and needed. I have been going to this store for over 20 years. Recently purchased a Weber grill and after a couple moths it wouldn't start. I spoke to owner, Bill, and he was very helpful. He explained they don't do service calls but are looking into starting the service. In meantime he said I should call Weber. I did and they diagnosed the issue as a faulty regulator hose and shipped a new one out to me with 7 to 10 day delivery. We did not want to wait that long to use the grill so I called Bill and explained what Weber said. He said he will send someone out for a $75 service call plus parts. His grill expert, Frank, came out and it seems I did no tighten the valve connection to the propane tank. (I couldn't believer it because I checked it several times and even changed tanks.) When I went for my checkbook to pay him he wouldn't accept it. I was surprised but then not surprised because that is how this store operates. I will always come here instead of Lowes or Home Depot. You can't beat the advice and top notch service. read more

I've been thrilled with the helpful hints they give me to complete my three projects which included repairing my plumbing, replacing my door threshold, and fixing my A/C vent. Every time I enter the store, someone immediately asks if they can help, then they walk me to the correct isle and show me what I need and how to do it. I am 57 years old, a handy man, and a Captain for American Airlines. I need organization, order and cleanliness. I respect professionalism and common courtesy. I've shopped Home Depot and Lowes for years out of necessity. I have endured their lack of personnel to assist customers. No more. I stopped into Ace today to have GMC keys cut because Home Depot couldn't do it. What an amazing experience inside a simple hardware store. The place was buzzing with customers. Despite the number of people, professional and friendly staff approached me at least 3 different times in the 10 minutes I was there to ensure my needs were being met! I will not go to Home Depot or Lowes unless Ace doesn't have it. As a nation, we are fortunate to have a REAL hardware store franchise like this. This is a wonderful place where to shop. I recently went with my son to buy a grill, and right away Dan answered every question we had and found out even more information about availability and feature of grills to make sure my son would be satisfied with his grill. Their service (delivery and setup) was impeccable, and Dan made sure everything went without a hitch. We found their prices and service to be the best in the area. Very disappointed. Purchased an item before the hurricane and tried to return it the same day. Was told that hurricane items could not be returned. It was not an item that was to be used for the hurricane or I would not have returned it unused the same day of purchase. Better that I shop at the Big Box stores where the return policies are more clear and fair. read more

I have been shopping at this store regularly since it opened and have always had great experiences. The ladies at the counter are super nice and there is always a friendly person available to help. Went there yesterday to get two tanks of propane as usual (except when they are closed). The Store Manager Boz personally assisted me. When I was ready to pay, I saw that they were $24.95 per tank for exchange and I mentioned to the nice lady at the counter that they are $5 per tank highr than the 7-11 just around the corner. She responded that they don't set the price at the store level. Just as I was thinking okay, I'll just get one tank today, Boz says to me "Do you want me to put your empty tanks back in your car?". The tone of voice he used was like he meant take your empty tanks and get out if you don't like the price! I was dumbfounded! Had Boz not said anything I would have taken one tank. Instead, I told Boz " Since you just gave me that kind of attitude, put my empty tanks back in the car". I then drove 2 minutes to 7-11 and got two tanks saving 20% in the process. By the way, I bought a $125 Weber grill there on Sunday. Will never go back. read more
