I honestly cannot remember the last time I went to any retail establishment and had so many employees ask me if they could help. The store seems small from the outside but is loaded with everything you could possibly want from a hardware store. They are especially well stocked with BBQ goodies, whether it's gas, charcoal or pellets- and any accessory you can name. Massive selection of metric, standard and specialty screws/bolts, including stainless, and you can buy individually- no need for blister packs of 10 when you only need one. I hate going to Home Depot and Lowes anymore for small items, so I was disappointed when Lowes discontinued the specialty Orchard chain. After discovering this Ace, I don't care anymore! I recently purchased a Traeger Smoker from Deerfield Ace Hardware. Since I could not get to the store, I spoke to the store Manager, Bill Moors. He was great! He provided me with information about various smokers and helped me make a final decision. Since I was not able to go to the store to actually make the purchase, the order needed to be placed online through the Ace website. Unfortunately, there were some technical issues, but Bill took care of everything. He kept in regular contact with me and made sure everything got resolved promptly. Bill was knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. He also made sure I got my smoker when I wanted it. After delivery, I went to the store to purchase some accessories and ask Bill some questions. My wife and I could not believe what an AMAZING selection of grills, smokers and accessories they have. Better than most grill stores we have seen! Bill spent plenty of time with us, answered all of our questions and helped us find the right accessories for our needs. As for the rest of the store, it was clean, very well stocked, and the staff was all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! The staff at this Ace Hardware has outstanding customer service. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by the cashier and any staff near the door. Other locations seem to have gone the corporate route. This location is the kind you can build a relationship with. Gene was able to help me place a warranty claim for my Green Egg. During this pandemic Green Egg's customer service has gone to essential mode and don't seem to have time to deal with claims. Gene got them to approve the claim within a day and source the parts I needed. They have a very nice display of Big Green Egg products which has me picking items every time I step in the store. read more

Bill (sales specialist) and Frank (branch owner/manger) are single handedly putting the "mom and pop" customer service back into retail - and boy is it refreshing. I recently purchased a Weber Grill Station and the entire experience was top notch - from the variety available in store, the knowledge of the sales team, and the ease of special order. Bill and Frank personally followed up with me several times by phone while manufacture cycle time issues extended the ship date. This is an exceptional review for Ace hardware my husband & I purchase a napoleon gas grill as soon as we walked in we were welcomed by a salesman introduced himself as Bill from start to finish he was excellent no pressure explained every detail with the gas grill we had light & purchased,we had delivery the next day,as our grill was a natural gas grill we had a problem setting the grill to our gas line,as we phoned our gas company & found out that we needed a regulator that will compline with half pound gas line.Both Bill & his manager Frank said not to worry that they went out& purchased a regulator & installed same with no complications.They we're out our house twice,once after delivery & then again to fix our problem. Frank is the one of the worse retail employees I have ever encounter in my life. I believe he is the owner/operator of the franchise! The man refused to entertain the qualification of my Stihl tools under the warranty program on several occasions. After provoking an argument with me, he requested his hired security guard to escort me to the front door and then Frank came out of the store to call me an "ass" to my face. I have read several others reviews of the same nature. The man is a should read all the 1 Star Yelp Reviews and consider participating in an intervention therapy session for anger management. All of his employees live in fear and therefore either support or mimic his behavior. If you personally read all of the 1 Star Reviews -- you will better understand my comments because my experience is echoed and reiterated on multiple occasions throughout the years. It is amazing that Frank is able to meet the criteria to work in an ACE franchise __ much less own one! And trust me _ I will make my opinion clearly understood publicly far beyond the Yelp Community. As a matter of interest _ i brought my Stihl equipment to a legimate 5-Star Stihl Certificed Distributor and the unit was repair on the same day with no charge - as it qualified under the warranty service. After wandering the aisles aimlessly looking for someone to help me find a unique tension spring for an industrial pop pin at my local Home Depot store, I gave up and went to Ace Hardware In Deerfield Beach. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a very helpful gentleman who took me to the exact aisle and found a spring that could work. From that point on what happened was truly amazing. Not only was this gentleman willing to first try to see if the spring was the right size, he actually found a colleague and the two of them fabricated the spring and installed it for me. Great staff terrible management. Truly short sighted and doesn't know the meaning of customer service. I had spent several thousand dollars here in recent months in a remodeling project happy to pay a bit more to avoid the hassle of the much larger Home Depot. Purchased a lock and doorknob that has been repackaged. Got home, pieces were missing so took it back with a receipt. The manager refused to refund the purchase because "pieces were missing". I showed the receipt and said I was there an hour ago! Also had another$300 on the counter ready to purchase. He refused. It was like talking to a wall. Same guy wouldn't return a few cans of unopened spray paint that I had a receipt for because it had been 32 days. Their policy is 30 days. $-O I honestly will never shop there again. What a short sighted and ignorant approach. Customer loyalty clearly means nothing. For $39 he lost a customer for life. There is nothing that would get me back in that store. Insane. Unacceptable. I really love Ace because you can tell the emploees truly care about their customers. I usually go in never know ing what to buy or how to fix my home repair issues but I'm always greeted by people who are eager to help. Usually they reccomend an item and suggest comming back and returning the item if it doesn't work and getting more advice, which tells me they are about helping me rather than making a sale. Also, they tell me when somthing is worth buying and when it isn't so I know I'm getting genuine help. Also I would like to point out that Morris is a great employee who gave me advice on unclogging my kitchen sink! I came in looking for a snake but he suggested another product and said to try that, if it didn't work to return it and let him know. He was right on the money and I didn't have to return. read more

Went to get a key made, had to go back three (3) times to get it right! I went there because I thought they would have trained employees that would do it that had working knowledge. But I was wrong! After going back and forth - all they did was say sorry. I paid for 3 keys they gave me back 4 keys plus only 2 worked so they in the end they ripped me off ! I wasted more time doing this then was necessary! Next time I'll just go to Lowe's they are closer and cheaper!! read more

I have been a customer here since they opened and not once have I encountered anything short of A+ attitude and service which has compelled me to write this review. This Ace Hardware is filled with those hard to find items while complimented by a very knowledgeable and customer friendly staff. The managers, the owner (Frank) and the team have assisted me countless times with advice and the right products. Returns are easily done, the ladies at the registers are always pleasant to deal with in these situations. I had a great experience at Ace. Especially compared to Home Depot and Lowe's. Just like they advertise people are willing to help you with anything the minute you walk in. I would roam around the big hardware stores confused with a lost look on my face and never did an employee stop to help me. But at Ace I am asked right away what I need and how they can help. Many employees are available to assist. I got paint and painting supplies. They even helped me carry the paint to my car. I didn't really walk around the store but I can tell it's a lot smaller than the big box stores. I am not sure they'll have everything you need but the prices of what I needed like paint and supplies were all comparable. It took a lot less time and effort to get my supplies at Ace. I highly recommend checking here for your hardware needs first before going to the other chains. read more

Terrible experience. Dan was rude as can be. I bought a sprinkler from him and I could not get it installed. I thought it was too big so I first asked for a connector to get it to fit. Immediately Dan started getting his back up and started yelling, You destroyed the sprinkler and I did not sell it to you like that. He could have dealt with this much better. The most awful customer service experience. Asked for a return of an order they wrote based on the information I gave them (So, we were both at fault) and they became irate and rude. Not even a discount! They were more interested in insulting than problem solving. They wouldn't give me access to discuss the issue with the owner (each store is privately owned). Gave me NO number to call, just a sad day for customer care. Called Corporate Hdqtrs who said THEY (the store) WOULD REFUND MY MONEY and Corporate gave me an authorization code to go back to the store ... wait a minute ... the store said they would NOT REFUND 1 PENNY EVEN WITH THE CORPORATE CODE! So Corporate called me back and issued a refund credit to be used at any store. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE IN DEERFIELD BEACH ... I used to frequent this store because my Wife worked next door. It came to pass that a manager or owner (not sure) was thoust dick. So I used to go there once upon a time. In recent times being so pissed off at the big box stores I went back. I was pleasantly surprised. They are very helpful and friendly. Knowledgeable. I had an issue with my Big Green Egg. The people at BGE are also very service oriented. They had a part, read large delivered to the Ace and they handled professionally and with a smile. For the size of the store their stock is amazing. Tammy and Jean took care of our Weber grill that was back-ordered, Jim and Frank delivered it. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
