Very disappointed the last time I brought in my little dogs. Asked them not to use clippers on their faces and they did anyway. My dog had a bad eye infection shortly after. I don't know if this caused it but she is never left alone. Was at the vet a few times for this and almost had to take her to a specialist. I asked for specific cuts and my requests were ignored. If Karen is working, I will go but she is not always there. I wouldn't trust anyone else. The cuts were sloppy.Cost for two small dogs was $130. plus a nice tip. read more

This may be a mixed feelings post. My boyfriend and I brought in our 8 month old Goldendoodle to Dee's. It was Finn's second time there and the first experience was great. However, when we went to pick him up, we immediately recognized our puppy's loud whining. At first we thought it was because he heard our voices in the front lobby but then he couldn't have because the doors to get to the back were shut and the noise coming from other customers and other dogs. However, his loud whining was due to him badly needing to urinate. He doesn't urinate inside as he's potty trained. As my boyfriend walked Finn outside, he immediately urinated all over himself. It made us really upset because he was neglected. He was there for 6 hours by the time we dropped him off to the time they called us to pick him up. It makes me wonder if they even let the dogs out to use the restroom or whether it's expected that they urinate inside. I should have asked what their procedure is when it's potty time but it slipped my mind since one would assume they handle it accordingly. In any event, my boyfriend took him back inside to explain what happened and asked someone to help clean him up. The owner didn't even apologize. Instead she said "cocker spaniels and doodles tend to urinate on themselves". Seriously!!? I can't speak for other cocker spaniels or doodles but our doodle does not urinate on himself. Instead of owning up to it, the owner displaced the blame due to the breed of our dog. That was just a sad excuse. I understand that there are many moving parts at a groomers. I also understand Dee's is extremely busy. I'm still upset writing this post. Maybe I'm just being a complicated and high maintenance pet parent. I gave 3 stars because our Finn looks and smells great. But the overall experience on that date was unacceptable. We're taking him elsewhere next time. read more

So very pleased with the grooming of our Maltipoos. This was our first visit and won't be our last. Our girls had been groomed at another shop until they relocated out of our neIghborhood. When first choosing a grooming salon I chose the other place because the dogs are not kenneled and allowed to play with the other dogs. I have since changed my mind about this option. Our girls were placed together in a large kennel that is typically used for larger dogs. This seems to have worked better as our dogs each have different play styles. One is very social, the other is a chicken butt. But together they are at their best level of comfort. So keeping them together proved to be ideal. I had the task of dropping them off and my husband picks them up. This is a bit challenging as he is the picky one about their grooming. Poor Bianca, she managed to take all this down: "He likes their ears long, you can trim them but don't give them those bobbed ears like you typically groom a Maltipoo. He doesn't want you to touch their tails. Oh and don't leave that poof on the top of their head. He says it makes them look like George Washington. The rest of their body can be cut short but not shaved." She got it all, never rolled her eyes and completely understood the directions. Also in case you're wondering, my husband refuses to take them to any grooming or Vet visits; he will only pick them up. He doesn't want them to associate these things with him. His philosophy hasn't worked out so well because they still love me best. Back to the review. I was called to pick up precisely when I was told I would be called. I asked how they did, and she said "they did great." I told her my husband would be there in 10 mins. I called I'm at work and he immediately left for pick up, arriving 10 mins later. LOL. Long story just a little bit longer, the dogs look beautiful, smell beautiful, didn't seem traumatized or anything. Every detail was EXACTLY as requested and we couldn't be happier. Needless to say, we recommend Dee's highly, they did an amazing job on our fur babies. read more

I've been taking my dog here now for the past two years and have always been quite pleased with the results. Always came back clean and with a fresh cut which is all I need out of this. Today I had brought in my dog per usual and when she was ready I went in to go pick her up and when I go to pay the card does not run through for some reason. I don't notice this till someone runs out and signals me to stop cause it didn't pay. So I get out and go back in to pay and unfortunately lock myself out the car with my dog in. Thankfully the staff there was very helpful. Specifically Lisa as she allowed me to use her AAA and call a tow truck. After calling the tow truck though my dog is able to roll down the window enough to get an arm in but my arms too big so Lisa again helps out and unlocks the door for me. Overall really a helpful experience and a great hair cut for my dog per usual. read more

So disappointed! I looked this groomer up online and saw some positive reviews so I tried them out. What a mistake I made!!!! I have taken my dogs to many groomers but needed one in Modesto. I am very meticulous with groomers for my Search and Rescue dogs. I was given a quote of $65 over the phone answering all of their questions but when I brought my dog into them, they said that it would be $25 more. No matter how much time has elapsed between visits, everyone at Dee's greats me and my dogs as if we are long-time friends. Client recognition is a huge bonus in my book. I used to bring my old dog here before he past away and they were great, but now since his passing I got another dog. He's a mixed (Yorkie/Doxie) and I brought him here hoping they'd do the same magic on him. Since my dog grows more hair than my beagle did , I have to bring him more often. Anyways, the first time I brought him everything went great and I was happy. The second time , after I specifically asked for what I wanted they completely shaved him! My poor baby looked hideous, I mean hideous. He looked like a rat and I told them I was upset but they still made me pay the full price although that's what I didn't ask for, but I didn't want to cause a scene so I left. Again , once my poor mutt grew all his hair back and more. I took him once again here and told them SPECIFICALLY to not shave him and to do a trim. When I came back , they of course didn't listen. Sometimes they're rude and whenever I tried to make appointments or ask them to schedule with me, they would never call me back or anything. This place used to be great but not anymore. My dog Tater Tot LOVES Dee's All Breed Grooming!! Okay, that's a lie, he hates being brushed, but amazingly doesn't growl at any of the groomers, which is more than I can say for when I groom him myself! As a 7lb pomeranian, his bark is 110% worse than his bite, but I take comfort in knowing that he enjoys his time at Dee's, or at least doesn't vocally hate it. He really likes all the groomers there and never barks at any of the dogs (which is amazing, believe me). Whenever I call Dee's I feel like a total VIP. They are always willing to fit Tater into the grooming schedule and always act excited that he's coming in ("We haven't seen Tater Tot in a while! We look forward to seeing you both tomorrow!!"). So nice. Dee's knows exactly how to groom a dog no matter what the breed. Tater has had the occasional bad hair day after a grooming session, but I completely blame that on my dad for giving them the wrong instructions (I said keep it LONG, dad, not shave it). I love Dee's because they also do flee dips, oatmeal soaks (great for dry puppy skin!), and brush the teeth, all for only a few bucks extra. They even offer great deals if you buy a package of several grooming sessions at once. Of course, no dog grooming would be complete without a cute bandanna or some bows, and Dee's has a great variety of fabric! The groomers always choose something cute and festive, and are totally flexible if you want a different color or pattern than they've chose themselves. They've been more than willing on several occasions to switch bandanna colors for me when I go to pick up the Tot (sometimes I need to color coordinate, yknow?). Woof woof! read more

They did a seriously great job on our little cockapoo pup. She's usually pretty squirmish at home and it's really hard to brush her, so when I brought her in with some mats around her ears, I thought for sure she'd come out looking like she'd won a battle. But no, she came out beautiful-- everything was done for her, and she was cut so perfectly! She was about $38, which is really reasonable for everything that they did for her, especially since it was her first time at the groomer's. My mom's only complaint was that her hair wasn't left long enough around her nose, so that she looks more cocker spaniel than cockapoo, but that was totally my fault for not giving that instruction. We dropped her off around 8 and she was done by noon, maybe even sooner if it hadn't been her first time. She smelled glorious and wasn't traumatized-- highly recommended! read more

They accidentally cut my dogs ear, very badly. It took two weeks to heal, fought off infection, and now has a 1 cm split where it healed apart. I understand accidents happen, but my moms dog had his tail cut so badly he needed stitches from the vet, it hit an artery. Since I just moved to Modesto I was looking for a good groomer for my Shepard Mix, Sasha. She is a menace and has been UN-invited back to many groomers because she is a handful, mouthy, nips at times. I decided to give Dee's a try, and boy am I glad.. They handled her like pro's, had her completely shaved, trimmed and washed with little to no complaints! Amazing work ladies! If I could give no stars I would. So I made an appointment to take my cat to get groomed so they told me to drop her off before 10am . So my husband takes her to get groomed and they tell him she will be ready by 4. So it gets close to 4pm and we haven't heard a call to pick her up. So my husband calls to see if she is ready and they tell him yes. So mind you we live in Ceres so it's a bit of a drive. So he gets there to pick her and they tell him she isn't ready that they just took her back! Like why tell us she is ready for pick up if she wasn't even ready??? They said it will be another hour or so. So my husband was on his way back home and not even 10 mins go by and they tell him she is ready! It doesn't even look like they bathed her and the hair cut was a shitty job! And it cost us $100! I'm never going back! That was a big waste of money! I took my 8 year old Jack Russell terrier here for a cut and bath, they have very reasonable prices and he always came out with a nice even cut. He was not a long haired Jack Russell so I'm sure it's not a difficult cut but nonetheless he still looked good after leaving Dees. The only reason I'm giving four and not five stars is because every time I picked him up he would shed like crazy I assume they bathe the dogs before cutting and I'd prefer it be done the other way around, cut first bath second this way to get all the loose hair out. read more
