They would get a solid Stars 5 IF their appointments didn't take a MIN of 5 plus hours no matter what time ya drop them off. BUT the place is clean, ladies are professional and they give a good clean cut. Again, the wait is long but they do a great job!! I was very fortunate to have found Dee's All Breed Grooming and Lisa. She is a professional dog hair stylist. She listensand wanted to know exactly what I wanted for my coton de tulear. She had questions and I had questions. I told her that I was searching for a stylist who could give my dog an Asian fusion cut. I sent her the video. I was wondering if she could do it. She said yes! She asked me questions about the dog and eventually, we set the time and date. When we arrived at the dog salon, Lisa showed us the many services her place offered. The place was loaded with many stylists busy with their dogs. The place has a self service dog wash offered there, and a kennel for the dog waiting for their parents. They have dog "things" sold in the lobby as well. While Kiwi was being pampered, we went to Trader Joe's and the mall before our telephone rang. Kiwi was ready. My dog was very happy, and we were very happy when we saw the final results. Kiwi, now, gets compliments from strangers. He goes into Starbucks and gets a puppichino and the customers smile when they see him. Having an experienced dog hairstylist makes all the differences. Lisa did an "epic" job with Kiwi. Spectacular! The services are worth the drive from Turlock to Modesto.

Took my Yorkie and my Labrador here for the first time today! Super friendly lady who helped me in the front and the little boutique was adorable inside:) I was quoted @ $65 for each dog for the whole process and nails! They were both finished in a timely manner and came out looking great! Will definitely be coming back.

I moved to Modesto a few months ago and my husband and I really wanted to get a dog. A few weeks ago we finally got a cute little, well behaved/trained dog. We were soo happy to finally get a dog that we went shopping the first day we got him, looking for the best toys and accessories we could get him. He was soo fluffy and had so much hair on his face that I started to look for places where he could get a nice haircut..... I of course yelp places where I could take him and found out Dee's grooming... I was soo excited to know that it was soo closed to our house and had so many reviews that I decided to make an appt for my dog. The day after and day before my dogs appt... My husband decided to cut our dogs hair and he didn't do such a great job lol. I felt so sad for the poor dog and so sad that he ruined his hair.. My husband took our dog to Dee's and they told him they could fix his hair with no problem, I knew he wasn't going to look like I wanted him to look before my husband cut his hair... But when I went to pick him up, he looked sooo good, they cut his nails, and made him look soo cute that I was very happy and glad with their work. Especially because we didn't have an appt and they still took him in and treated him good. I can't wait for his hair to grow so I can take him back to this place and get him another cute haircut!! read more

I had never been to a new groomer before as I was always afraid to take my dog to an unfamiliar place. Today I didn't have a choice because my dog needed an emergency bath. I called and they picked up right away. They told me they would take him. I dropped him off and the place looked amazing. Super clean and great atmosphere. I immediately felt at ease at leaving my dog there. Someone came to talk to me right away and they were incredibly friendly. They made me feel great as a customer. I left my dog and was able to pick him up a few hours later. They did an amazing job and he looked super clean and smelled great! I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner as the prices are good and the location is super convenient for me. If you are looking for a new groomer I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Amazing people! Very sweet!! Brought my dog here, after taking her to 2 paws up, they swore they cut her nails and deshed her, but there was no difference to what she looked like.... I dropped my baby off this morning at Dee's, picked her up this afternoon, and she looks absolutely amazing, my happy puppy again... I am coming here from now on!!! They're amazing!!! read more

I dont even knowhow many years we have been having our pets groomed at Dee's. They have groomed everything from a schnauzer, our rottweilers, and now our shih-tzu. Quick service, very friendly staff and always an awesome looking and happy pet when we pick up. They are great to honor special requests and are very open to my crazy requests. 0 stars, Never going back when I got my dog back I did not recognize him they pretty much shaved him down after I said I wanted to keep some length and he has cuts near his genitals and bald spots. On top of all that he was scared and flinched when I picked him up and ran straight to his crate when we got home. I take my dog regularly to the groomers in San Diego always does fine was visiting and staying in town for awhile so decided to take him in worst decision ever. read more

I dropped off my toy poodle, around 10 AM, they didnt even call me to pick her up. I had to go on my own before they closed, at around 5:40pm. When I got there they gave me my dog with a huge gash in her leg, telling me that it was an old wound i must have given her with a pair of scissors. It is obviously a fresh wound, because the skin is wide open and gooey with blood. Plus she kept saying she would put glue to seal it like that would make it any better. My dog is now limping and doesnt stop licking the wound. So they lied to my face and made me pay the full price $50. I think its sad how i trusted them with the well being of my dog. The lady in the back was smacking talking me in spanish but she didn't know I could understand her. They have very bad business practices, they don't care about your dogs please stay away first and last time I take my dog here. I only brought my baby because I was desperate and she paid the price for my mistake. Why lie, why not just say an accident happened? I'm very done with this place read more

I went in there to ask about my dogs haircut I usually go to bath and biscuits wanted to try something new and I will never go there again. The lady was yelling at a dog telling the dog to "shut up" the haircut was expensive as well. read more

I have taken my dog here several times and have been impressed over the service, turn around time, and pricing compared to other Modesto pet groomers. My family have all started to take their dogs here to for the same reasons. The only thing I'm not to sure about is whether they keep the dogs in cages. This was a concern for me because every time I pick up my dog he is very thirsty. Either way, this place does a great job with the styling at a great low price. read more

I have gone to a few groomers in town. Most smell like urine and my dog was terrified. ( two very bad and distressing incidents) Dees is clean and friendly and they are happy to accommodate my dog that can't be crated. read more

They are fast and thorough, just what you want from a groomer. Very friendly, flexible, and seemed to actually LIKE animals. Price is on par with other groomers. In my case $45 for a 60lb dog (bathed, nails, ears, and fur-minated), under 2hr turnaround. read more

Great grooming place! They do a great job here. Our dog is as pleased as we are! It's real convenient drop off and pick. They seem to take really good care of the animals they groom by the looks of things every time I stop by. They even have a self serve section if you want to bathe your own animal. read more

Lisa was super accommodating, got the girls in the system and was very thorough when asking about what type of services and cuts I wanted. The girls (Maltese and Poodle) look amazing! Always so sweet here. Never had any issues. Take my dog here on a regular basis for bath and nail trim and he always comes out coats lighter and smelling so great. Took him to yuppy puppy due to scheduling one time and he came home with cuts and scrapes all over. I won't go anywhere else. read more

I love this place. Went the for the first time to use their self service. Awesome staff was great friendly. The price was awesome 15.00 they supplied everything we needed. We loved Dee's for our Golden Retriever. He always looked the best when he was groomed here. Now we have two Standard Poodles and they looks the best ever also. Dee's is always accommodating to my work schedule and very efficient. I usually drop my two dogs off at 7:30 and they are bathed and groomed by Noon. We love Dee's! read more

The owner, Lisa did a great job with my Westie! I was impressed that she took the time to discuss every detail of what I wanted. She made efforts to get my Chester Westie to warm up to her. I had been going to Dees for about 5 years until 2013. I would take my terrier there to be bathed and shaved. Simple enough? I never had incidents except that my dog would dig in his cage until his feet bleed yet they never let him out of the cage. The last time I went there they took a huge notch out of my dogs ear. Over a year later, he still has the notch missing from his ear. The worst part about it is that my mother went to get him and they charge FULL PRICE for disfiguring my dog. I have never been back and have been telling everyone I know to stay away. Yuppy Puppy, top notch, or Irene's are the places to go!!! read more

I am blown away by this place, honestly. I have a 75 lb Golden Retriever that is FULL OF LIFE! Grooming her is a chore to say the least. I walked in for my appointment I scheduled the day before and was greeting with so much warmth. I explained that it had been months since she had been groomed, her anal gland was so bad it'd need to be done twice, sticks and twigs needed to be combed out, mats, feet trimmed, bathed, teeth brushed, the whole 9 yards. Probably that one customer everyone dreads. Not once did I see any hesitation on the receptionist face, she was extremely cheerful the entire time my dog was clawing on the counter to get pets (this has never been my experience at the other two groomers I'd used before). After leaving her I got a call just a few hours later that she was ready, that was fast! She was beautiful, hands down best condition I've seen her in yet. I apologized for my dogs energy and she was genuine about not minding, that gives me so much comfort, my dog can really be a handful. I paid $20 less than at any other groomer to top it off!!! Then I get a handwritten thank you letter in the mail with a magnet? Seriosuly?!?!?! I've never had service like that, I will never go anywhere else again. read more

They are kind, but they cut my poodle ears and my cat under her armpit without notifying me at all. Although, my cat look great but her nipples were also razor burn. It's hard to find a good groomer and I will never take any of my pets there anymore. read more

Dees Grooming was opened by Deloris Holder (Dee) in 1980. Catering to every need of all clients Dee built the business into one of the most popular grooming shops in Modesto. "No" was never an option at Dee's. It was not uncommen for Dee's to groom 60 to 80 dogs per day. One year making the front page of the Modesto Bee, for a record breaking 124 dogs groomed in one day during the holidays. Dee retired reluctantly due to her health but only to leave it in the hands of one of her long time employees of 16 years Lisa Jones. Today Lisa still holds the high standerds that Dee set for her shop and is very proud to serve Modesto for over 30 years.

Meet the Business Owner: Lisa J.

Lisa was an employee of Dees Grooming for 16 years before buying the business upon Dees retirement. Being the most popular grooming shop In Modesto the name still remains the same. It was a dream of 8 years and persistence prevailed. Loving the pets and pleasing coustomers was the true passion that drove this dream come true. Fourty years of experance in pet grooming and still loving every minute of it shows true devotion. Dees Grooming is the only surviving original grooming shop in modesto. Over 30 years of serving Modesto, Turlock, Ripon, Patterson, Manteca, and the Bay Area shows the popularity of this posh little Modesto Gem. Pleasing people and their pets is our goal. Large or Small We Love them All ! We thank every one for being a part of Dees Grooming.

Other grooming places we've tried in the past never seemed to get her truly clean (Nala does not like water), but Janese exceeded all expectations. When my wife saw Nala after the appointment, she was amazed. Nala looked and smelled fresh. For the second visit, our Frenchie, Reese, needed a good grooming session. Janese did an incredible job. Reese came out happy, clean, and clearly well cared for. Janese really knows how to handle our dogs with so much love and attention. I was taking both of my dogs there and both are very skittish and I admit do not like being groomed but, will let you.. I noticed a change of employees and maybe a change of ownership. I cannot even get my dog in her halter to take her now, she only wears it to go to Dee's grooming. The last time I walked in there, I saw a poodle on the table and some older woman looking to be hispanic or Indian grooming it , it was screaming like she was hurting it. As soon as I walked in, she blocked my view with her back to me so i could not see what was going on, the poor poodle looked extremely distraught. My dog was acting like she did not want to stay. When they called me to pick up my dog she was shaking all over and as soon as I got her in the car, she urinated on the seat. She is trained and never ever did that before. She got home and she ran in the door straight to her bed. I saw nicks and cuts on her and her nail was bleeding. I will never, ever take my dog there again. maybe they do well with dogs who are used to being groomed or that aren't skittish, but I don't trust them now. read more

I had been going there for years all the staff is nice except the owner Lisa she is very very rude I no longer go there since the last time she got straight on my face infront of a customer of hers when I asked how much would it be she said very rude it will be 48 plus 6 dollars after every hour he is in there my dog is a good doggie he is a maltipoo and I had had another doggie I took there for years but she past away ever since the owner did that to me while I was going through chemo & radiation which she knew she still got straight to my face and yelled really loud Infrom of the other customer IT WILL BE $48.00 plus $6.00 dollars after every HOUR we take with. I haven't eaten and a half month old miniature Schnauzer this fully vaccinated went to Dee's grooming and only these grooming and got parvo. They said they would reimburse me if they felt like it was their fault and they would do more research now I'm getting the runaround. I implore you not to take your dog to these grooming they said it got parvo from cats if you check the internet it don't happen that way it's dog to dog cat to the cat and also the groomers can spread it from themselves to another dog also I drove by there and they had the dogs in the park across the street so I would suggest not taking your dog to do this groom read more

The Only Place I trust in Modesto to take my dogs! There grooming stations are completely open... and VERY CLEAN! I have used their self service area before as well... they are helpful if you need any help there too. STAFF IS UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING AND PROFESSIONAL! Love them! read more
