Look Worse Than Before…read more Sharing my story as accurately as possible so you can make an informed decision. My friend recommended Sarah at Godiva , she said they frequently have Groupon, I've been looking for a practitioner I like, so I went. i've had Botox plenty of times in the past. My Botox doc of 6 years retired - he was consistently able to lift my brows and give me a more youthful and alert appearance. Inexperienced practitioners will spike or droop my eyelid. Most often they droop my eyelid. Sarah and another woman greeted me and we went over all this information. I said numerous times my goal was to lift my BROWS. Discussed the spikes and heavy brows if done incorrectly. Sarah asked if I wanted my 11s and forehead wrinkles softened and I said - Sure but let's not do anything that will impact the lift of my eyebrows. I want to lift my eyebrows. You are the expert. I said those exact words. Big mistake. Sarah drooped my eyelid so low they rested on my eyelashes with no ability for me to raise my eyebrows- she completely immobilized the center of my forehead. I called requesting a correction. Sarah put Botox in the upper regions of my forehead on each side. There was a minor lift of my brows for about 24 hours and then they settled back down, resting my lids on my lashes. I looked significantly WORSE AFTER Botox at Godiva than before. Sarah did not apologize at the initial correction. She did not acknowledge that the outcome was not good. She told me to rub the center of my forehead to break up the Botox that she put there - she said she put "just a fraction of what she puts in other's foreheads" she obviously didn't really hear or understand when I said "My eyes will droop. I want them to lift." I am 48, my friend that goes there is 37. Maybe Sarah doesn't really know how to deal with aging skin and hooded eyelids. Seems like something you should know. And I still had the heavy droop and had to deal with Godiva. Requested an additional correction - Godiva indicated that I needed to wait the 12 days when I saw the next provider. It was the other woman in the initial appointment. She said I remember you saying you wanted your eyebrows to raise. This is not what you want to happen (she was the only person that ever acknowledged anything). She placed more Botox in my upper forehead on each side in hopes to stimulate that lift. It did not. Waited another 12 days. Saw Sarah for this fourth visit she put Saline in the center of my forehead in about five different spots to dilute the Botox. And then Sarah said this to me "You're so lucky that you had such a strong response in the center of your head. I don't get that. And just cover up your forehead with your bangs." So that's been my experience. there was no mention of a refund or some sort of credit where I could buy skincare or something. Just because a woman is nice to you doesn't mean she didn't mess up your face. I can't believe the language Sarah used. She should definitely apologize for the outcome.

She never pressures you into any treatment and listens to your concerns. I had several cosmetic issues I wanted corrected and a number of dentists throughout the years rolled their eyes at me like I was being so superficial. After getting my braces off over 10 years ago, I had number of yellow stains on my teeth that were very bothersome to me. Two previous dentists told me there was nothing I could do and I should have flossed better as a young teenager. The damage was done and I was stuck with these stains. Dr. Hayden was the first dentist who was willing to help, and not only that but she explained how simple it was to correct the problem (honestly, it took her 30 minutes). I've also had a problem with Novocaine wearing off on my upper row of teeth. Other dentists acted like I was faking the pain I was feeling. Dr. Hayden explained that it's not uncommon for some patients to metabolize the Novocaine faster than others. Whenever I'm in a procedure with her, she always checks on my comfort level and administers more Novocaine before the pain sets in. I liked her so much that I brought my four year old in to see her and he actually likes the dentist! Can you believe it? Also, when you refer a new patient, you get a set of professional grade teeth bleach for free! They are awesome! All of her bleaching procedures are done at cost and are shockingly inexpensive. Thanks to Dr. Hayden, I'm no longer afraid of the dentist and I'll be a patient with her until she retires!

My old office didn't even keep up with their X-rays (which I found out how overdue I was at this office) and they didn't seem to explain much or listen to my concerns. It is quite luxurious inside, located on the second floor, on top of The Container Store, and offers a wide array of products and services for sale. I didn't buy any products but others in my group did. I did pay for a 60 minute full body massage which cost about $90ish dollars. I haven't had a massage of any kind in about 5 years and, as a jogger, I have some pretty intense knots. My masseuse, Ryan, was kind and most importantly, had strong hands! It wasn't the best massage I have ever had but I do think it was worth the money I paid for the 60 minute session. We all had a wonderful time and felt relaxed and refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of the activities planned for the Bachelorette weekend. Side note: By no fault of Mitchell's, we chose to go to Kings Island the next day after our massages and made our backs sore again from the rough and jerky roller coasters! Whoops!

The booking process was certainly interesting. In order to schedule a couple's massage, you have to purchase a gift card and then call to schedule. You cannot purchase a massage directly through the website- you must buy a gift card, as that is the only option Mitchell's offers to book a massage for two. This is not clearly delineated on the website, but after I managed to purchase my gift card and call in, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very polite and helpful. She took my gift card number and told me she applied it to the massage, so all I had to do was show up hand in hand with my partner. It does seem like their schedule books quickly, so I would definitely plan a little further ahead if I were to come here again- which I won't, and I'm getting ready to explain why. When my partner and I arrived to check in, front desk was not knowledgeable about what they were doing. The receptionist in training (as it said on her name tag), lead me to the locker room and pointed out where I should go once I had changed, but failed to do the same for my partner, who had never been to a spa before and was unsure of the protocol. I should also note that front desk never once asked either of us for payment. The massages themselves were wonderful- Julie and Toni were our masseuses, and it was a heavenly experience. They were super polite and very talented. No complaints on that front. What I DID have an issue with was being called the morning after my massage telling me that I hadn't yet paid, despite being told upon booking that I didn't have to worry about paying and never once being asked for payment during the actual appointment. But I have a gift card, so whatever. No big deal, right? Wrong. I gave the lady who called my gift card code- only for her to tell me I owed another $13 on top of the gift card balance. $13! I've already paid $200.51 PLUS a 25% tip for each masseuse. What could I possibly owe thirteen dollars for? We didn't add any extras to our massage. The receptionist tells me that the $13 is to cover taxes. Now I'm irritated because you have called me at work and interrupted my day to try and pry another $13 out of me for taxes, when I have never ONCE in my life had to pay taxes on top of a gift card. If Mitchell's requires you to pay extra taxes, then they should INCLUDE THAT IN THE PRICE OF THE GIFT CARD. It was so unprofessional and frankly just irritating that this is an issue. Imagine if you got a massage gift card for someone and they show up thinking everything is covered, only to be extorted for more cash once the gift card has been applied. A salon of this price and size should not be nickel and diming like this. It's pathetic and embarrassing to treat your customers this way. This customer service experience has been incredibly disappointing, frustrating, and just all around awful. Needless to say I will not be returning. I simply cannot believe that after paying $200.51 plus tip, Mitchell's has the gall to come after me for taxes on top of a gift card where taxes should have been factored into the original price of the card. I mean really and truly, what the heck? Update: I spent my break looking at their website and calling. Their website states that tax is included in the price of the gift card, so I was able to get the surcharge comped after speaking to receptionist. She told me that one of the masseuses is at a "higher level" and that means that they charge more for tax? Whatever, I'm just glad that they took care of it. They asked if I wanted to tip (after I had already tipped, lol). Still won't be back but my opinion of their customer service has increased ever so slightly. Bottom line: massages here are amazing. I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret...Dell Gross is the best hair colorist in Cincinnati imo. He just recently left Parlour hair salon to start his own business at Salon Lofts, and I've followed him there. I have naturally very dark brown hair, but I'm starting to go gray (yes, I'm 30 years old and going gray). Dell has been coloring my hair for about 2 years now, and he has done an amazing job of blending in my grays with my natural hair color to make my own distinctive look. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair as I have since I started going to Dell. We have tried many different cuts and styles, and lots of different color tones, and all of them have come out amazing. If you want the perfect California-blonde natural but bold balayage or highlight, Dell is your guy. He isn't cheap, but I care about quality over cost when it comes to my hair.
