My A/C outlet was leaking water using the emergency drain near the roof line, so I scheduled to service my AC. Josh showed up for appointment and he very quickly realized what the issue was and he cleaned up the A/C Drain line, he went into attic and tested to make sure everything is okay, cleaned up and vaccumed all the dirt in the drain line. Since he is here I asked him to do A/C Service and he clearly explained what is good and what might need to be serviced. He did great job servicing my A/C System. Can I give 6 stars? No??? DANGIT... Josh was awesome. Came in for an initial review, was very honest and straightforward, no BS. Told me exactly what was wrong with our system and (unfortunately) what we had to do to fix it. Whichever way we turned, it was not going to be a cheap fix. We read lots of reviews about DA and they were all positive. Josh came in with him and two other guys, they removed the old unit and put in a brand new one, all within about 6-7 hours. He also went above and beyond to fix some damage that mice did to some wires and ran a condensation line out of the house. I am shocked that the original company who put our unit in didn't do this! Overall, great experience with Josh and he was very responsive when I was texting back and forth. You can tell he really likes his job and it seems like he runs a straight shift. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Degan Air. After my Mom got an outrageously high quote from ASI to replace her whole AC system we called Josh to get another quote. Josh came in at roughly half the cost of what ASI was charging. The "big guys" like ASI have really aggressive sales tactics and work on selling fear. If you ever get a quote from one of them you will see what I mean. On the other side you have companies like Degan Air that provide great work at reasonable prices. Josh always wears a mask, is very personable and just knows his stuff. After my Mom got her work done I used Degan Air to do my annual AC maintenance and another time Josh came out the same day to help with a leak in my coil due to a clog in the drainage line. This is a long overdue review. The air conditioner in my old condo croaked during a heat wave this past summer. It was about 88 degrees outside at 830pm. There was a newborn baby and toddler in the house. I was seriously considering taking us to a hotel. Not to mention it was an open house weekend for our place. I texted my realtor and she gave me Degan Air's info. Looked up the company on yelp and sadly saw that it was closed. I decided to call and leave a voicemail hoping they'd get back to first thing in the morning. To my surprise, the phone rings and they answer! Crazy thing was that he was actually coming into my condo unit because my neighbor's air conditioner also died. There must be some type of AC and heating installation emergencies or something because the Degan air truck flies down the 805 freeway doing 90mph+ in a 20,000lb truck full of tools and dangerous AC chemicals. We found Josh through the seller of the home we purchased; he had done the initial HVAC ducting on the property. Josh was friendly, personable, and clearly laid out my costs and options for installing the A/C unit and a house fan. Our schedule was a little bit of a moving target, Josh was very flexible on which day he could come out to do work. I appreciated that he texted, which made it easier to communicate with him instead of playing phone tag like with other folks. On the day of the job, my wife was the one that was there, and Josh was very professional and patient in explaining our options on placement locations. I hired Josh for a full AC/Furnace install at my house in stifling El Cajon. I was hoping to get it installed end of winter/early spring to beat the summer rush and everything worked out perfectly. Josh and his brother came out and knocked it out in two days. Everything works and looks great. Both Josh and Jason were extremely polite, professional, and most of all honest. Josh was the only guy honest enough to actually take the time to take apart my pre-existing heater and see if it would work with the new AC Unit and turns out it would.. but we both agreed replacing it would be best based on its age. When we bought our house, it was sold to us knowing the AC was inoperable. We had a different company check it out, and they told us that the whole system needs to be replaced for big money. We didn't have the money for that, so we waited a while. Josh is a customer of mine so I gave him a call to give me a quote on a complete AC system. He came to my house, and Took a look at my unit, and told me he could fix it for $500. That made me so happy. So he fixed it, and it works great. I know it's old, and it will probably need to be replaced soon but, he was looking out for my best interest for what I need now. We really appreciated their ability to provide service quickly, because our whole system went down in the middle of summer! I highly recommend this company! My husband and I have used Degan Air twice. Once to have our ac unit moved to meet inspection for solar installation and they were by far the most reasonable quote and did the job on a Saturday for no extra charge. The second time was after a washing machine flood which contaminated our hvac system. Josh was very cooperative and patient dealing with the very specific paperwork requests from our insurance company. Once it was finally all approved he and his crew had the whole system (hvac, ac unit, ducting, return vents) replaced in two days. They took extra care to seal and improve our very old ducts and added one into my husbands man cave. They also added an hvac draining system (it used to just drain under the house). After they left water backed up into our sink when we ran the washing machine and he came back out to make sure it was nothing caused by the drain system. It turned out it definitely wasn't caused by their work but Josh still cleared the line and went above and beyond to make sure all was well. This is a very friendly, professional, and reasonable company and I highly recommend them. read more
