Degthai always hits. The parking is a little tight but it's worth it. The food is always hot and flavorful. Definitely worth the trip to that side of town.
I wanted some Asian flavor, I've been traveling and eating American food. So I figure why not try out a Thai place. I didn't really enjoy the service to be honest stood there got kind of ignored with the cashier. Also my food was a little salty I couldn't finish it not sure why It was really salty. Hubby said his pad Thai was average that he had better back home in North Carolina. Overall this was an average experience I would say, food was eatable. The egg was cooked perfect and thank goodness they did not add any salt on eggs so it did help balance out the salty meat a bit. Thai tea was pretty good.
The staff were super friendly and the food came out fairly quick after ordering. You go up to the counter and place your order for take out or dine in. It's a casual atmosphere with nice energy that connects you to Thai culture. The interior decor was reminiscent of what you'd find while out getting street food in Thailand. We ordered Pad Thai (fried tofu, no beans sprouts) and fried rice (fried tofu) with a Thai tea that was super rich and sweet. All of our food and drink were super delicious. I recommend.
Degthai is one of my very favorite easy dinners out. The art throughout gives it a great vibe and they have both indoor and outdoor seating options (the outdoor is even covered now). I am not going to lie parking is rough but you don't have to pay and it is totally worth it. Service has always been quick and they take their time while checking you out to make sure you get what you want. My favorites are the red curry and pad Thai. I always order mine on the spicier side but chat with them to figure out what is best for you!
The locals (aka my brother and his roommates) brought me to this Thai place when I said I wanted something good. This place did not disappoint! The food came out quick, hot and plentiful. My pad Thai had some big shrimp which was a nice change from the tiny ones most restaurants serve these days. The noodles had nice flavor and were very filling. I had enough leftovers for a whole other meal! I would definitely come back to get a pad Thai fix.
Overall: I love Degthai! Yay for Thai food - ohmygosh, it just HITS. Got the Pad Thai, Red Curry, and green thai tea! From the flavors to the portions, it is so so good and I almost wish I could gatekeep this place. I have literally eaten here twice in a row and I can't wait to go back again. Service: Quick to order and there's always plenty of seating! Ambiance: I love the decor of the restaurant, they have a bunch of Thailand inspired stuff inside. There's also very nice outdoor seating on the patio.
A few times a year I find a place that deserves more than 5 stars Degthai is one of those spots. Parking lot was small but I got lucky. You enter and immediately go right. They have a pile of menus and you have all the time You want to review and decide. And, it's a nice simple menu. Not an overwhelming amount of choices. I like that. You then proceed to the counter to order. I got mine to go but same process for eat in. After you order, they give you a stand with a number card that you place on your table. The order came out pretty quickly even though the place was jammin'. I got spring rolls, dumplings and the OG Pad Thai and had them add chicken. The spring rolls were 4/5. The dumplings were 8/5. The pad Thai was 10/5. ;-) The pad Thai was loaded with 5 jumbo shrimp and quite a bit of chicken. I ordered it hot but would go next level of if I ever get back. They served with a small packet of pepper powder. Not sure what it was. The bean sprouts are served on the side with 2 limes. And honestly, there was no room in the pad Thai container to add them because it was such a generous portion! Highly highly recommend!!
Go ahead and believe the hype. Degthai is that good. Besides its almost perfect rating on Yelp, it has won the top spot in Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat. The service is friendly (order at the counter and they will swiftly bring it to the table and ask if you need anything else). The vibe is hip Bangkok club house (if there is such a thing). The food is exceptional and damn if the portions aren't big enough for 2 or 3 meals, depending on your hunger level, surely a rarity anywhere the food is actually good these days. Normally when I see only one vegan option, I'm a little bummed out, even if sometimes decision fatigue can be a thing at places with multiple options. But when you do one vegan (entree) option and that vegan option is extraordinary... who the eff cares? The Tiew Gang Vegan is an enormous bowl of creamy, slightly spicy (not spicy enough for me, but they have an array of chili options on the table, including my fave, hot chili flakes in oil) coconutty goodness. It's packed with tofu, mushrooms, broccoli, bok choy and cauliflower, topped with green onions. Utterly heavenly. We also ordered the crispy tofu, also incredible. A large app, plenty to share and irresistable with its cucumber salad, sweet and sour sauce and chopped peanuts. I left Degthai obsessed. That's right. I can't get it out of my head. I may even be losing sleep over it. I can't stalk it because I live several states away. But I'm plotting a return...
Degthai has been on my radar since I moved to Tennessee, and it definitely did not disappoint. It's a casual, street-style Thai spot where you order at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. There's plenty of space to sit and free parking, which is always a plus. The menu is small but solid, making it easy to choose. We did family style and tried a few things: the classic chicken pad thai (my favorite as a pad thai lover- so good), the red curry over white rice which was perfection, and fried rice that goes with everything. We also ordered Jay's Special since it was something new to us, and wow. Spicy, sweet, and savory stir-fry chicken over cucumber salad with rice... so good. They are also very accommodating with vegetarian and gluten free options, that way almost everyone can enjoy their dishes without sacrificing flavor and quality. Kudos to their staff, so friendly, so kind! Everything was a hit. Definitely recommend.!
Yelp's Top 100 places to Eat in the US winner? You better believe it! I am so glad I got to try out Degthai while visiting Nashville in the company of their lovely community manager, Bailey. This was the very first place we went after my plane touched down, and it was the perfect spot. The menu is unique and interesting without their being an overbearing amount of choices. From what I tasted, there probably isn't a bad item. We got some dumplings in spicy oil to share, because if you threaten me with dumplings, you can rest assured I will rise to the occasion. They were awesome. Dough was just the right texture, meaty filling full of interesting flavor and hearty, spicy oil leaves a little burn for later. To be honest, I'm no longer sure of the name of the dish i got for lunch... the flavors live rent free in my head forever though. Spicy, a little sour (in a good way), aromatic, and the meats were all tender. This place reminds me of a spot I have at home, that anytime I want to scratch an itch for this particular cuisine, I'm likely going there because it can't miss. If I lived in Nashville, I would be certain to be here a lot. Thanks Degthai!
Degthai is not food, it's an event, a problem, and a personal attack on my health goals. This place has never fumbled. Not once. No mid dishes. No "it was good but ". Just nonstop excellence and reckless portions like they're trying to see how far they can push the human body. The service? Michelin star energy with "we know exactly what you want before you do" confidence. The food? Absolutely unhinged. The curries? Life altering. The Pad Thai? Illegal in several countries. The rolls and dumplings? I've accepted they now live rent free in my bloodstream. I blame Degthai entirely for my cholesterol, my BMI, and my inability to eat like a normal adult. Every time I eat here I start considering learning their language, changing my personality, and rethinking my entire cultural allegiance. That's how powerful this food is. People say "Nashville has great food," which is usually a bold lie told by people who haven't traveled. But Degthai? Degthai makes that lie sound believable. Briefly. I will keep coming back. I will keep pretending I'm "just grabbing something light." And Degthai will keep ruining my life in the best possible way.
Very good spot. Cute building, a few gluten-free options (pad Thao, two curries), friendly service, fun decor, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is limited but we went early, no problem. We both ordered the Pad Thai and liked it, but found it a bit limited compared with other Thai spots we're used to that include more variety. It was a bit one note - just dense noodles that solidify into a block and a bit of veg, not enough other things mixed it like spring onions or whatnot. Good but could be great with minor tweaks.
Stopped by Thursday for dinner. Pretty tasty food...._a tad salty for me but seasoned well. I had the OG shrimp Pad Thai. Thin noodles soaked up all the flavorful sauce and the large shrimp made the dish. All the ingredients created a balance of flavor. The street dumplings were filled with pork and some vegetables. The tasted pretty good. The spring rolls were hot and crispy. My friends enjoyed the food they had ordered. I tried the soup and it had a distinct lemongrass taste. The lemon really made the soup delish. The place was clean and has many tables and chairs for patrons. It was consistently busy as we dined in whether people were ordering take out or enjoying a meal inside. The service was on point. Our food came out very quickly after we ordered and the servers were constantly cleaning up and attending to us. I would come back to try other entrees and sides on the menu. We had a great time.
Came here while on a trip, it is a well decorated and clean restaurant and the staff were friendly. I ordered the classic pad Thai and it was yummy! I did think it was missing some type of vegetable or peanuts, but other than that it was great! read more

Akshay with Offline - Degthai in Brentwood is clearly a local favorite -- and for good reason. Even close to closing time, people just keep walking in. It's always busy, and that alone says a lot. What's interesting is that despite the crowd, the restaurant operates without the traditional host/hostess setup. You simply order at the counter and then grab a table. It may feel different for those used to full-service restaurants, but it works surprisingly well here. The menu itself is not huge, but everything on it feels intentional. We started with their street dumplings, which were absolutely delicious -- perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. We then tried the Kra Prad Moo Kai Dad with chicken (their take on basil chicken), the chicken red curry, and the Tiew Gang Vegan ramen-style noodles. All three dishes were excellent. The flavors were bold and authentic, the portions generous, and the quality consistent across every plate. Service was fast despite the crowd, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. The only challenge here is table availability, especially during busy hours -- so be prepared to either wait or get lucky. Overall, Degthai delivers great food, efficient service, and a lively atmosphere. I genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to visiting again. This is the kind of restaurant where you can feel like you're really getting real Thai food. The dishes, plates and cups they use reminds me of Southeast Asia trip. I like how not so noisy it is inside and how quick the food comes out. The food is pretty good, in big portions, although I wish they have more variety on the menu. Coming from NY, I have a high standard for Thai food and often found myself not very happy with Thai food outside of NY. This place, although limited in menu, does well on what they sell. I like Pad Thai. Curry is just standard- nothing particular. Service is really nice too! read more

I love this place so much! The staff is always friendly & the menu isn't overwhelming & has a variety of selections! I just wish they had crispy spring rolls with no pork! Ambiance is nice, lights aren't too bright& the decor is cute. They have a lot of seating indoors & outdoors. The only downside is the parking lot isn't that big. I also got a Thai tea & it was so yummy & not too sweet. read more
Even though I don't have pics of the food, trust me you won't me disappointed. I typically try Green Curry at every Thai restaurant I visit, I wasn't disappointed. Although the spice could have been way hotter. Most Thai restaurants have toned down the spice level, and that's even speaking on their spiciest spice level. Everyone was super friendly and the wait time wasn't bad for the time of day. I loved the murals on the walls, inside and out. Definitely a place I will frequent. Cheers! read more

So good, so fast, so fun! Very brief menu makes entree options easier and they are speedy experts at making these items! HUGE portions--plan to either split a meal or have another full meal off of the leftovers. Nice, because it is NOT inexpensive. Green curry was massive & full of veggies; pork with egg was delectable, if a tiny bit dry; og shrimp pad Thai had gigantic and plentiful shrimp, very tamarind-forward; classic pad Thai with tofu was plentiful with protein! Iced tea was quite sweet but good, and you may need it if you go for the spice level of "assfire"!!! We went with medium spice but I would try hot next time...and there will be a next time! read more
This is our go-to spot for Thai food--and honestly, the best we've found in Nashville so far. We usually order the Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong, both packed with the perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavors that make every bite exciting. Their fried rice is also a standout--perfectly cooked, not greasy, with each grain just right. Even with its street food vibe, the restaurant is clean, and the service is consistently great. A wonderful experience at Degthai in Nashville. After reading many glowing reviews, we hopped in the car and headed to this restaurant for an early lunch. We arrived a little before opening, and found a parking lot and additional parking in the rear. We were greeted when we walked inside and informed we could sit anywhere. We later learned you order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The menu is small but hits all the classics! We ordered the fried tofu, pork shumai, classic pad Thai, fried rice, and green curry. We were given a number and sat at the only eight top table. The restaurant had quite a few patrons even though it was early in the day! The food arrived quickly and was steaming hot! We dove right in. Some of the highlights were the fried tofu, green curry and pad Thai. The tofu was fried crispy and serve with sweet and sour sauce, the green curry had a beautiful deep flavor and was so comforting and jammed full of chicken. The pad Thai was traditional and with added chilis was the perfect combination. I would highly recommend! read more

This is a great place to have great Thai food. Everything we had was so tasty. My only complaint was the white rice. The two servings we got were too dry. But the same rice would've been great as Fried Rice. I especially liked the Green Curry Chicken and the Minced basil pork dish. They were both tasty and went well with the rice. My parents and kids liked the Par Thai. The place was also spacious and was a no frills restaurant. It was casual, self-seating, and was a good place for families with kids. The oldies playlist was a great place to enjoy a good meal, with good food and music. read more

Degthai received Top 100 Restaurants in the USA for 2024 and I knew it was a must try when I made the roadtrip from NC to TN to visit family. Parking is limited but we were able to grab a spot rather quickly. When you arrive, you can smell all of the delicious spices filling the air. My husband and I brought my dad and step-mother here. Growing up, it was a tradition for my dad and I to go to our local Thai restaurant once a month, so it was bittersweet to reminisce on the past and bring him to a new spot. The ordering process is easy and is very relaxed. There are menus in line while you wait your turn to order at the counter. The staff will bring out your order when it's ready, in the mean time, grab yourself a spice caddy because it's a nice touch to your experience at Degthai! The staff are all hardworking and very nice. We ordered 3 Thai iced teas, 1 green tea, crispy spring rolls, Classic Pad Thai, Red Curry, Kra Prao Moo Kai Dao...but I don't remember what my dad and step-mom ordered, this was just my husband and my order! Ha! Everything tasted AMAZING. It was so worth the drive. My dad was loving it and was so happy I introduced Degthai to him since he lives fairly close. My husband and I joked that we need to move to the area just to live close to this phenomenal restaurant. I know a Thai restaurant is good when the Pad Thai is excellent. It's a simple dish but many places don't know how to make it properly. Degthai knows how and they do it perfectly. My only "complaint" was that their most spicy level choice was actually not that spicy. For those that can handle the heat, the spice caddy is a good addition if the level is a bit gentle on your adventurous tastebuds. However, everything was truly fantastic. The menu is small but it is MIGHTY. Theres a reason why Degthai won Top 100 and you need to see for yourself, too! read more
Degthai started out as a good truck and their brick and mortar has been very successful. Every time I come, the dining area is buzzing with all types of groups eating and the kitchen sounds of sizzling and the wok are so distinct. I really like the Tiew Tom Yum Goong! It's a hot and sour noodle soup with white mushrooms and jumbo shrimp! I love eating this in a cold or rainy day. It hits the spot. You can spice it up if you'd like. I usually finish this dish when I come. The Thai iced tea is delicious and I also myself once in a while! Another dish I order often is the Kra Prao Moo Kai Dao. It's a stir fried ground pork with basil, garlic, and Thai chili peppers served with rice and a fried egg on top. You come in and order directly at the front counter. They give you a number and you grab an open table and your drink. Then they deliver your order and you go to town. It's efficient and easy to navigate. When the weather is nice, you can sit on the patio that will seat another 20+ ppl. Since the place is popular, parking is at a premium. Carpool if you can. You'll be happy for this pro tip! read more

Delicious! I had the red curry and it was SO flavorful. I had a hard time making myself stop eating it, the portions are a good amount also! Service is great. Super fast and very nice! You walk up to order and they give you a number and then bring your order out to you! I also got a Thai ice tea and that also was so delicious! The decor is bright and simple. After the first bite, my husband literally said "why did we go to Thailand when we could have eaten here"! It's amazing, the flavors are incredible and I love that it's not formal but a quick pick up or eat in spot. Will go back for sure before I leave town read more

This place is awesome, the vibe was cool Walking in they have good music playing and a nice ambiance. The service was excellent and the cashier where we placed our order was friendly. We ordered two chicken pad Thai and added shrimp to one of them for extra protein with a side of dumplings. The food was so flavorful and tasty and it came out super fast. I will definitely come back here to eat on my next visit to Nashville. read more
Some of the best thai food I've ever had. Massive portions that'll keep you full. Perfect amount of spice and sweet, I'm so content. Semi casual restaurant where you order at the front and they bring it to your table. Super busy on weekends but worth the wait. I shared a red curry and pad thai with four girls and we were all so full. Both dishes were so so delicious and filling. Got complementary rice after our first!! This place really does live up to the hype. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful, and a great start to our meal. I can comfortably say that this was the best pad thai I've had outside of Thailand. The fried rice was also tasty. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and the food was not heavy at all. Of the five restaurants we went to, I definitely didn't expect Degthai to be the culinary highlight of my trip to Nashville, nor did I expect to find some of the best Thai food I've ever tasted to be in Tennessee. The spacious interior can comfortably accommodate over 70 people, with additional outdoor seating available. The restaurant's walls are adorned with murals that create a retro aesthetic, and its tables, chairs, and décor perfectly captures the street food atmosphere. Even watching the staff cook together in the open kitchen, you can see the passion and camaraderie they share in their work, reminiscent of what you would expect to see from a street vendor team in Thailand. The restaurant offers fast-casual service, allowing you to order at the counter and have your food, along with utensils, sauces, and spices, brought to your table by a team member. The staff will also help clear your table after you're done, so it's not totally self-service. For added convenience, there are also take-out containers preprepared at the counter if you need any leftovers taken to go (we didn't have that problem). The pad Thai, red curry, and tom yum goong were all outstanding. My only gripe was that I preferred the chicken to be more tender, but that's a matter of personal taste. I'm glad we were able to end our trip on a high note, and I'm hoping we can have a Thai option on the same caliber of Degthai back in Connecticut some day! read more

I took it upon me and my vegetarian sister to complete this challenge.. They had vegetarian/vegan options on the menu and plenty of other options like chicken and pork. The service part of it is pretty quick because you order at the front and then you sit down and wait for them to bring your food. The staff is friendly but.. I will say that it gets pretty hot in there and that most of the main dishes are shareable (2-3ish ppl). The Thai iced tea is pretty good but ordinary and I personally couldn't taste the shrimp in the street dumplings. Overall i wouldn't go back again, this place is good but overhyped for being the best Thai food in nashville. read more
I've been to deg thai a couple times now. It has always been a nashville classic. With indoor and outdoor seating, plus easy take out options and free parking to the left of the restaurant, Deg Thai makes it easy for any occasion. Although it is a pretty casual place, the employees always seem busy and happy to be there. I used to always get the kra prao moo kai dao- its delicious. Of course the pad thai is their most famous dish. Most recently when we went my boyfriend ordered the fried rice. I wasn't super excited about it- because I've had fried rice a million times and kinda wanted to try something new. Boy was I wrong. Deg Thai quite literally has the best friend rice I have ever had. It tastes different from regular fried rice. I was trying to put my finger on it, but it doesnt taste like thai basil fried rice nor does it taste like classic chinese take out fried rice. I just cant figure it out but it is truly so good. read more
We just drove in for vacation and stopped by here for lunch. Right as we pulled into the parking lot we got a spot right away. When you walk in you go straight to counter to place your order and then take your seat. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside. We had ordered the steam dumplings, chicken pad Thai and chicken fried rice. The dumplings were amazing. The right amount of chicken to cabbage made it tender and the sauce it's in just boosted the flavors. The fried rice had great flavor and I love the how the broccoli was cooked perfect. It reminded us of our restaurant back home that we frequent. I love the flavors the pad Thai had, however it was too wet for me. There was too much sauce that at some times overpowered the dish. Overall this is a great place for Thai! We will definitely come back when we visit again. read more
