Always enjoy the food, the margarita's. They can do a better job with dessert choices as a suggestion. 8-) But if you want a good taco or quesadilla you found the right place. I have always had nice people serve me. read more

I'm here all the time! I can not get enough of the shrimp tacos and flautas. The menu is HUGE so there is something for everyone. They also offer gluten free options which was nice to see. The drinks here are all well crafted and well made. I usually get the Blackberry Margarita with a sugar rim, yum! The staff is super friendly and attentive, they have a way of making you feel right at home and the music is always on point. I definitely recommend this spot! read more

Absolutely delicious. First time ordering from them. We had the nachos, chicken quesadillas, chicken enchiladas and the tacos. Nachos were a little spicy if anyone is sensitive. They were spicy for my daughter. Everyone else thought they were great. The taco's are fantastic. We tried the carne asada, beef brisket and fish tacos. They were all so good. My favorite is the brisket, so tender and a little sweet. Will definitely be ordering from them again. They were also taking good precautions for Covid. Separate entrance for take out and everyone wearing masks. read more

we're rounding up. 3.5 stars absolutely will try again though. came in on Saturday and it was slammed, grabbed a drink at the bar and waited the 25 minutes for our table. really cool atmosphere, everyone was hustling and the hostesses were very friendly. great tequila selection. drinks : pinacorita was good but I switched to the del fuego which really struck my fancy. food: salsa is awesome, great selection of hot sauces at every table. classic guac was solid, nothing to write home about. the steak taco was also good but the meat was a bit chewy. chicken quesadilla had the same thing going. service was good, I would advise on busy nights like that to bring a drink with you from the bar to the table because there is about a 12-15 minute wait to get a refill. reasonably priced for quality. probably a lot of fun to come with a bunch of friends. read more

Excellent!!! From the service to the food and drink. Very reasonably priced. DONT MISS IT!!! PS try one of their salads, awesome!!!!

The appetizers, particularly the wings and nachos, are delicious. You won't be disappointed by any of the tacos or burritos. If you love different brands of tequila Del Fuego has many varieties. I'm only taking a star away because the prices are a little high. But, for the taste of the food it can be justified. read more

Delicious food! Shrimp tacos are a favorite! Great service but be prepared to wait a long time- bar space is lacking and tends to be extremely busy making drinks for tables. Clean and great atmosphere!!! read more

Loud, vibrant "Mexican" restaurant and bar in Babylon didn't hit the mark in terms of food. We were placed in a cramped high seat in the front corner by the loud bar making conversation difficult. Wanted a booth in the quieter section but the hostess said she couldn't put us there. What ever, I just wanted to sit. We were immediately approached by the waitress before I even opened the menu. Felt rushed to order. The menu features some odd twists on Mexican (aioli on tacos? Huh?). We were immediately given a nice sized side of chips but the salsa was awful. Earthy tasting and though had heat, didn't have the tang and it gave me serious heartburn. Ordered a ground beef burrito which tasted pretty good. However, it was served cut in half which is fine, but all the meat was on one side and all the rice, pico, etc on the other. Kind of like all the flavors blended. Tried the carnitas enchilada served with a strange tasting black bean sauce. The pulled pork itself just tasted like cinnamon but the inclusion of plantains was an interesting twist. Service, though friendly, was rushed but prices are average. I could see myself coming back for happy hour but the food was not so good. Disappointing and not recommended. read more

Del Fuegos is YUMMY! Best mexican food I've had in a very long time. Their brisket burrito is killer! Also enjoyed their fish tacos for lunch recently- they do have a really good lunch deal. Portions are substantial so bring your appetite! Restaurant is a cute little mexican cantina type with lots of tequila options- if you're into that! Will defintely be back. read more

Oh my gosh, I don't know how I've been here at least 6 or 7 times and haven't reviewed this place. I keep coming back and I love it! Tonight I went on a Tuesday and the only special was tacos (3 for $12, excluding steak and shrimp). No drink specials which makes me sad during cocktail hour! On Mondays they have half off margs though. I almost always get a house marg ($8) and a chicken burrito ($12). I find myself munching on their complementary chips and salsa (so delicious) before I order and the burrito is big enough for me after I indulge in the chips that I bring half home. It comes with a little salad that I really like also! The place is much better now that they've expanded so wait times are much better. This is by far the best Mexican in Babylon in my opinion, and in the surrounding area. read more

The ground beef tacos are the bomb! The drinks are great too. They did forget to bring the chips and salsa on our last visit but overall awesome vibe. read more

10/10 best place I've been to all throughout Babylon. when you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by the lovely hostesses whom will seat you to your liking, there is occasionally the 10-20 minute wait but it's worth it. Once we were seated the bussers didn't hesitate to ask how our day has been while filling up our water glasses, making us feel more welcome and there not being that awkward silence. After the one busser watered us another with really nice hair followed with chips and salsa TO DIE FOR!! When our waitress approached us she made us feel more like friends then customers. I believe her name was Shannon and she was absolutely delightful. Not only did she tell us all the specials she was able to go into great depth of what was consisted in them. I ended up getting the steak quesadilla and Mac & cheese. I must say I have never had such an explosion of taste in my mouth after just a single bite of the quesadilla. The Mac and cheese was jaw dropping. The presentation itself was astonishing. 10/10 service 10/10 food 10/10 Ambiance If your looking for a good time with great food I highly recommend Del Fuego Babylon. You won't be let down read more

This place never lets me down!! the wings are amazing! the chicken Quesadilla is perfect! their Shrimp and Chicken tacos are awesome!! Def Go here! the only thing I'm not a fan of are the way they make their beans...very blah and not saucy at all! but the drinks and tequila selections are vast! read more

My family and I come here about 2-3x/month. Very convenient given one of our son's nut allergy. 4 stars instead of 5 because food can be inconsistent. Service almost always better than good. Chips/salsa very good. Chicken quesadilla is my go to, and almost always very good. My kids like the chicken fingers/wings. The burritos tend to be fresh and huge. Very filling. Also had sons communion there 2 years ago-they did a great job and service/food/price was great. read more

Definitely worth trying! I loved the chicken quesadilla and their guac is amazing. I will be returning for more.

Although doing your best is admirable, using inferior ingredients is not. What kind of oil do you use in the kitchen? Your tortilla chips contain red dye ( as verified by a waiter who brought out the package for ingredients review ), which is artificial coloring, directly linked to causing cancer. I am not hard to please, just cognizant of bad ingredients dressed up and doctored to look good which evolves into nothing more than expensive, unhealthy crap. Your business should not be ( but obviously is ) just about cheap food purchasing and your bottom line, it should be more about the quality and respect for the healthy food you should be serving your customers and don't. This is ultimately and sadly, a form of slowly poisoning and severely compromising the health of unsuspecting consumers. A widespread plague in the low end food business these days. Minus 10 + stars for ingredient and consumer deception. Perhaps unintentional but nonetheless shameful and selfish. Vending machines put out safer food. Also, based on ownership comments, they can't accept criticism. They should listen and swallow their pride but then again, not surprising at all and more than ironic. Customers can't swallow the crappy, unhealthy " food ( ? ) they put out. Buyer beware. read more

Unfortunately, I'm really unimpressed with Del Fuego. Their margaritas almost always make me sick to my stomach every time and the food is, well .... average. The extended seating out back is a good additive, but at the same time it feels like I'm still just sitting in the parking lot. I guess after work drinks (bottled beer) and their starter chips and salsa is what I'll stick to for next time. read more

If I could give Del Fuego more than 5 stars then I would. To start, the drinks are amazing! They do not use sour mix or any weird cheap margarita mix. All fresh juices to make the perfect margarita. The food is perfect if you're craving Tex Mex, just the right amount of flavor! The restaurant itself has a warm atmosphere and plays the best music as well as has plenty of tv's to watch basketball, baseball, football, soccer, etc while having a beer and some tacos. For the summer they have an outdoor patio with a full bar and lots of seating, perfect for a weekend night out! read more

Went here with my new girlfriend last year and it was good. Something bothered me about the place but I couldn't recall. We went again recently and they brought us our chips and salsa which we munched on until our server came shortly after. She took our orders and right upon leaving us she asked us if we wanted some guac for our chips so we said sure. The food and service were good but when I got the check I noticed the $10 fee for the guac and then it hit me. The same thing happened on our first trip there last year and that was what was bothering me. They ask you if you want guac but fail to mention it's $10 for it. They make it seem like it's supposed to be included with the chips and salsa. It seems like a sneaky way to run up the bill a bit but I guess that's partly my fault for assuming that it was included. My girlfriend ordered a few tacos and rice and beans. She still had two tacos and almost all of her rice and beans left and was gonna get a doggy bag to take to work the next day. When she finally opened her container at work she only had one taco in her container and none of the rice and beans. I don't know if they gave her someone else's doggy bag or if they didn't put all the food in the container. No matter what the story was, it was still a screw up. The sneaky guac add on (twice) and the lack of food in the doggy bag mean we won't be back at all unless they are willing to work with us and then I'll update. read more

A small but cozy place . Cocktails on point . Food average. Atmosphere trendy . Will return. Nice spot for a quick drink & Appetizer.

Not thrilled. I ordered a glass of sangria that was so strong I couldn't drink it. Yuck! I'm not sure what was in it..maybe a topper of tequila but it was unlike any sangria I've ever had. The guacamole was good, fresh and creamy. My BBQ beef wrap was tasty and filling but the spicy fries were over the top. Here's my take on heat- if it doesn't add flavor and just burns for the sake of burning it's a gimmick and not a necessary addition that enhances the meal. So eh. I should have gone to the Argyle Grill. read more

Wings are great. Love the taco lunch special. Great date spot too. So many tequila options. For those who really enjoy their tequila, they do flights on Fridays. Theres options to indulge or to stay a little on the healthier side. Service is always great, I usually sit at the bar. read more

Owner reached out to me on here and said he retrained the bartender so I went back with my GF in tow. We went on a recent Saturday for lunch. Got acknowledged this time! Woo hoo!! lol The bartender was great, I just think that with the size of the floor and 1 bartender handling both service bar and customers at the bar, it's rough. All in all a much better experience for me. Del Fuego's Shrimp tacos are the best around in my opinion. read more

The night was a lot of fun typical Mexican fare only one complaint the red sangria was terrible

The food here is always good and every meat option is cooked and seasoned really well. Good nachos, great burritos. The carne asada served on a big piece of toasted cornbread was great. Brisket and pulled chicken are outstanding. The homemade chili is really good too. Drinks are a little strong. $7 tequila shot and Tecate is a good deal. read more

Not a fan, not mexican food, not going back. The waitress was nice even though she spilled the drinks on the table. She apologized so no issue with her. But the food is a mess. Fish tacos were rubber. Del Fuego nachos were a mountain of STUFF on tortilla chips. My son's wings were very tough and my "steak tacos" had eveything except the steak. I was kind of surprised it was so bad. read more

This place is Taco Bell on steroids. The tacos are your basic meat cheese tomatoes and lettuce but the meat on the tacos is what makes them fuego! lol (fire). I got the Taco trio which lets you pick 3 different tacos. I picked brisket, skirt steak and chicken and all three were delicious. They have a bunch of good beers on tap too. They bring you chips and salsa to the table when you first sit down and let me tell you the salsa is amazing. The waitress didn't hesitate when I asked for a second serving either. The only thing I recommend is a beer list. Having the waitress read me a list of tapped beers was exhausting. read more

Del Fuego - Tex-Mex Near Me - Babylon, New York

In summary...Starting this review before dinner is finished...don't waste your money in Del Fuego...Food is garbage, drinks are terrible...if you want to spend your time and money on quality, take the LIRR into the city and go Rosa Mexicana for a very good/great dining experience. You may spend slightly more at a place like RM, but it is worth it. Or, go to Chipotle, if you want to stay closer to home, seriously (and, keep in mind, Chipotle serves beer). And, btw, I may be glow-in-the-dark Scots-Irish, but my wife is Honduran/Puerto Rican and knows Mexican cuisine quite well. Keep reading if you're interested in the details for my advice on staying away from Del Fuego. Traditional guacamole Terrible. Obviously not fresh and seasoning all out of balance (eg way too much black pepper). There is a reason why Mexican places worth their salt make the guacamole fresh by cutting the avocado when you order it vs. prepping batches beforehand: Because if it sits around it starts to taste bad. Drinks Fancy descriptions, but, honestly, do they have liquor in them? Neither of us likes a heavy pour, but you should be able to sense there's alcohol in there. Two margaritas for my wife and a margarita and a mojito for me, I was wondering if the drinks were "virgin". My mojito was the single worst mojito I have ever had, highly doubt the mint was muddled at all BBQ pulled pork wontons appetizer Clearly reheated in a convection microwave and pork was absolutely tasteless, no seasoning, smokiness whatsoever. Perhaps slow cooked in a crock pot? At this point, my wife suggested we cancel our entree order, but I figured it was probably too late. I should have followed her suggestion. Entrees For her, shrimp tacos with a side of platanos. For me, grilled mesquite chicken burrito. Hers, platanos were raw inside and the sour cream to go with it had black pepper(!) in it. Sent them back and asked to be removed from bill. Shrimp tacos, one bite and she was ready to spit it out. She said that the cabbage on top of the tacos tasted like it was sitting around for days and the rice was dry as sand. I tried the rice and agreed. It was also the wrong kind of rice for Mexican cuisine: white rice instead of Spanish rice. My burrito, "mesquite" does not mean "burnt". I lasted three bites and couldn't get past the dry as a bone taste of eating an extinguished piece of mesquite wood instead of savory chicken flavored by mesquite smoking. I tried dousing a bite in Cholula hot sauce to make it edible, but the charred wood flavor cut through regardless. I was almost able to give the side salad that came with it a passing grade, but unfortunately the mango in the salad was not ripe (and mangoes are in season!). We summoned the waitress and informed her of the shortcomings with the food. At least to her credit, she agreed to remove the platanos from the bill immediately. My wife asked how recently the rice was cooked. The waitress explained that the kitchen is constantly making it fresh. No way. Rice gets that dried out from reheating. The owner or manager then came over as the waitress evidently relayed our feedback. We repeated our observations. For a moment, she appeared incredulous about my wife's feedback (remember what I noted up top about my wife's ethnic background). She took our plates away. The waitress soon returned with our bill and told us that my wife's entree had also been removed. We thanked her for her courtesy in that regard, paid in cash and left. We will not be returning to Del Fuego. It is unfortunate because it was recommended highly to us and we are right in Babylon. We arrived tonight for dinner at about 6:55, were told it would be a half hour wait and were finally seated nearly an hour later. Having to wait on a Friday night is no big deal. But having to wait even two minutes for the garbage they are serving is not worth it. read more

We've been to Del Fuego three times and I so want to love it but it's just inconsistent. Actually I take that back, there is one consistent thing ....the service is terrible. The staff is inattentive and doesn't seem to about the customer. The food was decent the first time, almost everyone loved their dishes. Second time was excellent. But tonight was an epic fail... We got lobster tacos and a veggie burrito. Both were flavorless, mushy and overall unappetizing. The soda was flat, I had one sip and was charged 3 dollars for that and 3 dollars for a club soda to take it's place. I don't mind paying, but that seems a little cheesy. The one thing I would come back here for is the salsa....amazing. All in all, I think Del Fuego needs to step it up. read more

I hate to do this, and few places motivate me to say bad things, but this place sucks. This place gets one star for the bartender, who did their job promptly and to the best of their ability despite their lack of stock. I found 2 hairs in separate dishes! DO NOT EAT HERE....unless you're into that sort of thing......woof. Not only does it start with a careless hostess who doesn't know how to seat people, it's the poor mechanics of the whole place. It is run completely inefficiently due to lack of management. We waited because of mistakes ( more than one*) by the hostess, then our waitress forgot to bring us our appetizer, we asked her for drinks and our appetizers, she disappeared and then came back to check on another table next to us, and ignored us as we called to her because I guess she was embarrassed she forgot twice.....or not because she seemingly didn't care about us at all. Overpriced. The food was crap. The pulled pork tacos tasted like the meat was pulled out of a plastic bag (Aside from being flavorless). The tables were not wiped clean. And they seem to pride themselves on their "variety" for all of those drinks, tequila, and beer....yet they just happened to be out of every other thing you'd ask for? Take my advice and don't waste your money. The food is especially not worth it read more

LOVE this place!! Food is delicious and flavorful. I had the you-pick-3-tacos...beef brisket, chicken and shrimp. All were equally amazing! $4 margaritas during happy hour- can't beat that! Service was very quick. Atmosphere is fun, really liked the decoration. Made me feel like I was actually someplace in the Southwest. Great place to go on a Friday/Saturday night with friends. I was impressed with the music selection, everything from top 40 to rock to country. Can't wait to go back to Del Fuego again!! read more

Tonight as the town was filled with drunk people wearing green I was able to relax and enjoy myself in the village. My server, Eve was so great and tentative to anything that my table needed. The bartender, Billy, was able to show me a new drink being served and I absolutely loved my experience here. 10/10 would come back in a heartbeat. read more

good place, decent atmosphere...most of the time the service is great altho sometimes have been slow deff amazing though

Del Fuego in Babylon is a nice place for Tex Mex. For drinks, my girlfriend and I both enjoyed a classic margherita, followed by some good draft beer. For apps we shared the traditional guac and shrimp/chorizo flautas, both which were good! For dinner I had the pulled chicken chimichanga and my girlfriend had the pulled pork quesadilla. We both enjoyed our food and were well attended to by the wait staff! Definitely check them out if you're looking for Tex Mex in Babylon! read more

Perhaps my expectations were too high; maybe the staff was overwhelmed by the overflow of the street fair spilling into the restaurant. I'll give Del Fuego another chance to soar above the ranks of the average, but for now, that's where it falls for me. I had the spicy mojito (I'm forgetting the name, and I'm finding the website difficult to navigate for some reason), and it was decent. I find that allegedly spicy drinks are often not spicy, but this one was. We ordered the guacamole, and it arrived in maybe 90 seconds in a little plastic-looking bowl: F for presentation. While I understand that not every place can make the guacamole fresh by the table, I was hoping for a bit more razzle and dazzle. I have made better guacamole at home, so it was nothing that I would really want to spend money on again. The lobster quesadilla was a somewhat disappointing entree decision, and lobster should never fail to please. This eatery is charging $19 for bread with a mere sprinkling of lobster on it. I tried my friend's nachos, and they were fine. That's the problem I think. With the lofty reputation of Del Fuego, I was expecting a parade of flavors, and the food was just wildly insipid. read more

We came here on Cinco de Mayo this year a little before dinner time and it was packed (which was to be expected)! We waited about 45 minutes for our table but went to the bar in the meantime to get some drinks. The margaritas were half off (only $6 I believe) which was good because they were kind of small and $12 for one wouldn't be worth it. The decor was pretty nice and Mexican-themed. Our food orders were taken and we were served relatively quickly despite the large amount of people there (as was the table next to us). Once seated we were served chips and salsa; it wasn't a basic tomato salsa but a spicy (bean?) one I think. Regardless, it was AMAZING. It was spicy but had a subtle sweetness at the end and paired well with the chips. Kind of salty for my taste, but delicious overall. We split the chicken quesadilla and steak tacos. The quesadilla was huge, like really huge. After eating 1/4 of it I definitely felt full already! It was cheesy, the flavors were delicious, the tortilla was crushed. The tacos were a little soggy by the time I ate them (about 20 minutes after our food was served) but the meat was tenderized nicely and the flavors still worked together. Delicious food, huge portions, reasonable prices! Will definitely come again soon. read more

Went there with my fiance and was very pleased with how good everything was. The jalapeños stuffed with brisket wrapped with bacon were delicious. We both got the taco trio and it was amazing. The brisket is good, pulled pork was good, but the skirt steak was a little tough. We will definitely be back it is one of my new favorites. read more
