Best tacos in Babylon! I've walked by this place so many times and finally tried it on Sunday. I'll be honest I was trying to go to Swell Taco, but they are closed on Sundays (WTH). All worked out because I got to come here and I am sure glad I did! We waited a few minutes for a table but not that crazy. I absolutely loved the Salsa here, I am usually never super into Salsa. The salsa was the perfect mix between Sweet and Salty. I ordered the Pulled Pork tacos. So so good. The mango BBQ sauce is what made it. They have great specials on Sunday you can't go wrong. The "queso" is total trash. Basically yellow flour water. Disgusting. AND it came to the table luke-warm. Why can't these places serve HOT FOOD. Del Fuegooooooo!!! This is a great take-out or dine-in spot in the village of B. My favorite thing on the menu (well, OK, I have two...three if we're counting drinks) is the Del Fuego salad. I've gotten this a few times as take out with grilled chicken, and it's only $10! You can also get tuna or steak if your heart desires. I think if you eat in, it might be two dollars more. It comes with a mesculin mix, mangoes, toasted pumpkin seeds, jicama, avocado, and a citrus vinaigrette. It's usually very good. However, last time they forgot my jicama, and when I dined in once with my friend, she asked for hers sans mango (she's allergic) and it came with mango on it. They quickly brought out another salad for her, but unfortunately not all the chicken was cooked thoroughly. However, they were very apologetic and fixed the problem. I've also gotten the burritos here, I'm a fan of the buffalo burrito Mandi style (onion and pico free, please). This comes with the Del Fuego side salad (sans fish or meat) and is also at a good price. The margaritas get a bit pricy, $10 for a short glass, so unless they're running drink specials I'd stick to cerveza. Service is generally very friendly and helpful. Everything here is great, but they lose a star because I think their focus must be stretched too thin or something. My biggest pet peeve about this spot though is that You get charged 3 bux for club soda. At this point I'll just go to patchogue which I'm not as fond of but is super close. Friday night dinner with a friend started with complimentary chips and salsa. I wasn't crazy about the salsa and wished I had of tried the guacamole instead, but since the salsa was free and my friend raved about it we stuck with that. It just had an odd taste to me and it was a bit hot, which is okay but I def had better tasting salsa. I order a pulled chicken chimichanga, which was good but for some reason I would have thought the deep fried tortilla would be crunchier on the outside; still yummy. It came with rice and black beans which was also good. It def gets busy in there as seating looks to be limited. The service was great. Cool spot. Visit Date 6/25/13 I eagerly visited Del Fuego with hubby after covering a village meeting for the newspaper I work for. I've been trying to get him to come with me to try it out. Our waitress was very helpful I think her name was Cassandra. She did her job adequately checking up on us a few times, bringing us what we needed, checking with the bartender to see what the best non alcoholic drink option was. The chips and salsa bought to the table were good, the salsa was spicier than salsa I've tasted at other Mexican or tex mex restaurants. I ordered the mushroom and cheese quesidilla, it was delicious but I noticed the last piece I ate got very soggy. The drinks were okay, they were small for the price you paid. The most negative atmosphere I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered a burrito, and not only was it bland but it was textured as straight baby food. A friend with an allergy to pineapple after requesting no pineapple ate some without knowing. The manager proceeded to comp the bill 50% when everyone at the table ate 5% of their meals. The server also had no idea what he was doing the entire time and kept throwing chips at us instead of taking our orders. The manager had an extremely hostile attitude and should leave the service industry if he hates it so much. I came here for dinner with a freind recently and glad we popped by this spot. Although they have multiple locations, this one is always my favorite! Staff is always attentive, friendly and there's a lot of space. You can sit at the bar, high stools, or booths- so it's a great spot for friends or even family. Their house made chips and salsa are delicious and they give you a fair amount of both! I went with their mushroom quesadilla, you get a good amount of food and the quesadilla is cooked to perfection. Since its opening we have dined at Del Fuego numerous times and always have enjoy the food. We recently moved so we hadn't visited in a while. I'm guessing that ownership must have changed hands because the food was awful. My wife ordered the chicken fajitas which came out sizzling as advertised. Only problem is the chicken was dried out and hard. Someone needs to tell the chef that salt does not cure tasteless dried out chicken. I ordered the chicken enchiladas which weren't as bad as my wife's fish but they weren't good either. The saving grace and why they got 2 stars is that the staff was attentive and polite. She consistently checked on us without being overbearing. I enjoyed everything for the most part except for the yuca fries. They were fried in big chunks and extremely dry which I was not fond of. Yesterday was my first visit and it was a very cute place. We sat outside since the weather was beautiful and the space was great. The inside was plenty big as well and had a Tex/Mex decor. We ordered the mesquite chicken quesadillas for the app which were SO yummy and snacked on the chips and salsa. We needed some extra sour cream for the quesadillas so we asked our server. My sister had the sangria which she loved and I ordered the chicken burrito. I only took a few bites because I had the baby with me. It was good but I noticed the guacamole was missing. When I asked the waitress to wrap up what was 75% of the burrito I mentioned to her that I thought they forgot the guac and she assured me that it was in there and that the tortilla is usually 'lined' with the guacamole. The baby was fussy so I took my burrito, we paid the check (they charged $1 for each little thing of sour cream! $2 added to the bill!) and left. Fast forward to this afternoon when I am able to heat up yesterday evening's leftovers and I come to find out that there is no guacamole in my burrito! Guacamole is a really big deal so I won't go any further. If it was forgotten then that's fine-people make mistakes in restaurant kitchens all the time. So watching the food network at home and trying to decide on dinner. Then they had a food truck episode and I'm craving a burrito! My friend got the del fuego burger with jalapeño fries and it was so good! The fries were crispy, tasty, and not greasy. I ordered the beef burrito with special requests. Unfortunately, they brought me beef brisket but got the requests correct. I hate to waste food but I was really craving a ground beef burrito.
