This place is straight garbage! 4 tables completely empty and we had a 40 minute wait. The inside smells like Clorox and a dirty rag. Only 2 servers in the whole place and the bar back was cleaning off tables 2 cups at a time, then come back for the plates. It was dark and dinghy and the music sucked and the food was the worst I've ever had from a "Mexican place". Like how can you mess that up?! It took us over 2 hours for what should've been a quick 45 min stay. The tap beers were disgusting and I'm guessing they don't clean out the lines. I was feeling frisky so when the Babylon wind swept me into the glowing green cactus outside of Del Fuego I knew it was the universe's way of telling me that eating here was a must. Upon entering I picked up a mint from the front podium and popped it into my pie hole. I ordered a chimichanga from my waitress and she served it with a fierce strut and a smile- what a charming lady. I couldn't have inhaled it fast enough. As a babylon resident I've been coming to del fuego for years .I came here last week with my friend around 7 o'clock for dinner and was waiting for over 20 minutes for a waiter that I had to go get myself. He said another waiter walked out or something like that which is fine and that he was alone. We ordered guacamole and we ordered fajitas steak and chicken. We didn't get the guacamole so we just ignore it because we were so hungry and when the food came it was cold and the steak was so salty. I have never ate at the restaurant but have ordered food from them during the pandemic. We had a little bit of a war on my family about which place in Babylon Village has the better burrito. I ordered 3 steak tacos, 3 beef brisket tacos and the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla. It was for me and my friend and we were so full, and everything was amazing...still hot and my friend, who was born in El Salvador said that their rice and beans were amazing. Also, I got a quart of their house margarita, and holy cow was it strong. I haven't drank in 2 weeks and I'm feeling really good now. Plus it's 15% off. The food was delicious. No notes. They did the burrito I ordered excellently. On top of that, everyone in the restaurant, from the manager to the bus boys, were incredibly nice. The chips and salsa, that are complimentary, were also quite good. I found myself considering ordering a portion to go, so I'd have them to snack on at home too. This restaurant is a chain and the experience is not the same for each . The one in Patchogue is the best . The severs check on you and actually smile . The place is cleaner too. The one in Babylon is the worst .... Very very smiles and rarely are you checked on. The other two are kinda okay . The one thing they all have in common is the cold tacos. My cousin wanted to come here bc she loved it here until today. Now we both wont be coming here anymore, after I told her my last experience and then today she saw it for herself. We call our waitress over bc (the owner/manager replied to last review and said you could ask for to be made again) so I said to the waitress could it be remade its very salty and to me the guac taste more like sour cream she said no bc they make in the morning a big batch its not made to order so it would be the same thing and that there is no sour cream in the guacamole... so that left a bad taste for both of us. Our order came out and my daughter's and the sweet potato French fries were burnt (we paid extra for them too) I asked for napkins from the waitress and she started to give me a nasty attitude and facial expression. I gave it a second try and its my last- the service was ok, the food was worse. The food here is fresh, tasty and overall excellent and they have a reasonable amount of vegan options, which is greatly appreciated. They even have a separate gluten-free menu so they're pretty aware of special dietary concerns. The burrito bowl and guacamole are on point! I also really love the fuego salad, especially the mango and jicama. Any time I've eaten here the staff has been kind, helpful and accommodating. My only major complaint is that when you order a side of guacamole for $12, you only get a small 12 ounce container of it, when you're ordering take-out. They say it's a pint but a pint is 16 ounces. Granted, the guacamole is fresh, delicious and pretty much perfect but even though the prices of avocados are up lately, a dollar per ounce of guacamole is a bit excessive. I feel like it should be between 24 ounces of guac and 16 ounces, at the least. I also wish there was some way to substitute veggies or something other than the gigantic bag of corn chips they give you along with the side of guacamole because a lot of health conscious people, myself included, don't eat nachos/chips. Aside from the somewhat minor complaint of simply wanting more of their amazing guac, it's really a perfect place for delicious Tex-Mex. The location is great, right in the heart of Babylon village, a super short walk to the train station, and the ambiance is nice as well, great for a casual date or dinner and drinks with fiends (they have a bar). Everyone I've ever been here with has loved the food and has had a very positive experience. Highly recommended!! I only took a star off because I want more guac. read more

The food and cleanliness have been lacking lately. On my last visit to Del Fuego my utensils and glass were not cleaned well. I looked past that but when my food arrived the chicken was very hard, almost as if it was reheated and my dish was just slopped together. The food always comes out very fast which is nice but if it isn't fresh I would prefer to wait a little longer for a better meal. I've been coming here for years but lately it just hasn't been the same. Ordered a buffalo chicken quesadilla from here. Barely any cheese and the very little cheese that was in it was not melted. The whole thing was drenched in buffalo to the point where it was just buffalo sauce in between a tortilla. The food here is subpar overall . I also ordered a steak quesadilla. Really not happy with this restaurant. My boyfriend and I got here at 6:30 on a Wednesday and we were sat in a corner at a high top table no wait. We were actually on top of the people next to us and I felt so crammed in the corner. Our server came over and we ordered drinks and and appetizers. For drinks I ordered the red wine sangria and my boyfriend ordered a beer that was on tap. For appetizers we ordered the fried avocado and guacamole. Guacamole and avocado came out before our drinks. Thankfully there was water on the table. Both appetizers were good, also the chips and salsa was great! But we still had no drinks. It actually took forever for our drinks to come. Our drinks came over and there was no fruit in my sangria. Maybe its just me but I look for fruit in my sangria that is one of my favorite parts of sangria. It also wasn't anything special. We finally ordered entrees, I got the burrito bowl with mesquite chicken and my boyfriend got the carne asada. The burrito bowl wasn't that great. I could've got something better at a local fast food chain. My boyfriend said that his meal was ok. It came with cornbread underneath and it was all soggy. Great experience! The staff is so so kind and accommodating. This place really won the lottery on best staff, as far as I could see. They have a whole gluten free menu! And it's so easy to find vegan options at a taco place, so this gf vegan gal was very happy. I got the veggie burrito bowl no cheese/sour cream, and chips with salsa and I thoroughly enjoyed everything!! The salsa really stands out, it's a delicious chipotle flavor, a perfect balance of spiciness. And the rice, beans and veggies were all cooked so perfectly and were super flavorful with a generous portion. The portion was absolutely huge, I think 4 people could easily share this. If you're not in the mood to spend 10 bucks on a cocktail, they have a shot of tequila and a Tecate for seven bucks... not bad! Tecate brought me right back to those college days. The tea cocktail is soooo good, worth the money. I ordered peach vodka and it came in a tall glass with fresh mint and lemon. Sooooo worth it! I highly suggest the beef brisket taco, it was insanely tender and flavorful. I could stuff myself until I pop with that beef. If you are feeling a little less indulgent, their salads sound amazing, but if you're adding a protein you're lookin at a $14 entrée. Treat yoself. We came here on Taco Tuesday, their deal is 11 bucks for any taco trio, EXCEPT shrimp and another one that I can't remember. But I don't think that's a great deal, you're only saving a few bucks. This review is for the two most amazing people who work at the Babylon location. Gerard, the greatest bartender, and Brian (Bryan?), the greatest server. I have been going to this location for years, but have never seen such great service! Both of these gentlemen have gone above and beyond for their customers, including myself and my friend. The margaritas...wow, no one can make them as good as Gerard. I don't know what he does to make them like that but it's probably his good personality and amazing attitude that makes them taste so great. And if you're lucky enough to get seated with Brian, you're in for some of the best service you have ever gotten. He is always so happy and it really makes you think he must love working here. Del Fuego is an average restaurant- nothing special, but nothing to avoid either. Came here for a happy hour drink with coworkers, which turned into dinner. The happy hour special for margaritas were either $4 house margaritas or $2 off speciality margaritas. There was also a Yelp check-in promotion for a free tequila shot. However at the end of the night the waitress put these on our bill. When we pointed it out she did take it off though. The bar was crowded right after work (5:30) and got more crowded as the night went on, so when we decided to order food we got a hightop table by the bar. We split two orders of the chips and traditional guac, which was great. I had the pulled pork burrito bowl which came with a side salad. The pulled pork was good and salad had a unique dressing on it that was very tasty. Another waiter or busboy brought out our food very quickly, and our waitress stopped by to check in on us a few times while eating, but it took 40 minutes after we finished eating to get the check from our waitress. Of course it's nice to not be rushed out, but it was just too long. One of the girls I was with actually ended up just giving us cash for her estimated portion of the bill because she really had to leave and we couldn't flag down the waitress. A friend and I were walking around Babylon on a Sunday afternoon, trying to find a place to eat that was a) open b) casual c) dine-in d) yummy. We stumbled upon Del Fuego, which was open, casual, and dine-in, and turned out to be not really that yummy. When we arrived, the place was pretty deserted and we were seated quickly. Our waitress (Sheila, I think) was friendly and helpful. Chips (a little too salty) and salsa (jarred) came out quickly. We ordered the lunch burrito special and lunch taco special, each $8. The taco special comes with 3 tacos (you can mix & match) and a soda. My tacos - I chose pork, chicken, and beef brisket - were OK. They were missing some kind of key ingredient for flavor, but I can't quite place my finger on it. Salt was definitely NOT the missing ingredient. We asked for sour cream and were brought crema, for which we were later charged. Though it was a small charge and wouldn't have affected the outcome, I feel that the fact that we were going to be charged should have been mentioned when we asked for it. My tacos were so soggy the bottom fell out of all three. I tried to fix the flavor with hearty dousings of several different hot sauces they offered, but the sauces must have been open for too long because none of them were remotely spicy. Sad times. I love this place! The food is good and so are the drinks! My favorites are the Shrimp Quesadillas and the Santa Fe Shrimp Cesar Salad. I've also had the BBQ Beef Wrap and that was delicious as well. My normal go to drink at this venue is pineapple express, but this last time I tried a new drink they had and it was soooo good. It was called the blackberry margarita. The drink had muddled blackberries in it. It was definitely worth trying. Also the chips and salsa are the bomb and they refill them as soon as they get low. First time here I sat at the bar with my boyfriend and we were shocked at how tasty the margaritas were. Not watered down, flavorful and full of tequila, yum. As far as apps go, their guac is on point. Last time I came in I tried the pulled pork guac. It came with big chunks of pulled pork and avocado and was very flavorful. Their wings are also good. They have a large variety of sauces to choose from. For my main dish, I always go for the 3 taco combo. My favorite is the carne asada taco. The meat is extremely juicy and always cooked right. My boyfriends go to is the brisket burrito. The portions here are very big so be prepared to leave with a to go bag or a food baby. This place is small, but I've never had to wait for a table. The $13 guacamole is about 2 avocados worth, with a hundred tortilla chips you'll never get to use; avocados are expensive but there are other restaurants with much better portions for what you pay. The mushroom quesadilla had mushrooms cooked with zero salt. My husband ordered the Fuego salad with tuna medium rare, but it was hammered, cooked completely through the center and grayish.
