Beautiful store, way bigger than the exterior might suggest. Tons of perfectly wrapped gifts waiting to be taken home (yours or someone else's:) and delightful samples one after the one, graciously offered by the owner. She really entertained my friends and myself (I come from olive producer country, Spain, but always so much to learn!). She educated not only our palates but talked a bit about the history of each oil and balsamic vinegars. Anything infused with pomegranate I found utterly exotic and enjoyable. We tried many many samples and my friend bought a couple of those bottles freshly filled from the metal container. Everything they have seems so fresh and not rancid like many bottled oils out there. It quickly will lose it's "oomph" and begin a rapid decline into just a shitty oily substance that you probably should steer clear of. Think about that for a moment, you browse the aisle in Whole Foods and find what looks to be a nice bottle of olive oil from Turkey and decide it's worth the $26.00 price tag and bring it home. We came passing by this place and wanted to buy some virgin olive oil that day so went on in. The oil that we bought wasn't the ones that we originally wanted. So ended up buying a $20 bottle. After coming I started searching online about what is the best way to use the oil and realized that there are the natural version and the chemical production of this taste in the oil. I love that they have FRESH olive oils year round (currently your getting the oils from the Northern Hemisphere). I had to see this store. I drove from San Jose to check this place out. Worth it! Not only do they have an amazing selection of Olive Oils and Vinegars they also have Pastas, Salts, Honey, all kinds of accouterments & Lotions. They also will take the time to find out what your looking for and have you taste different things. I met with Eddie and his beautiful wife Homa and tasted some amazing oils and vinegars. I ended up with the Mushroom Sage Olive Oil, Portugal Olive Oil (for my salads), Espresso Balsamic (AMAZING - I marinated a flank steak in it as recommended by Eddie and it was fantastic) and the Apple Balsamic (Nothing I would have picked out without being able to taste it - great in salads and I'm going to try it drizzled over strawberries). My Sister is in love with the body lotion she purchased and also purchased some Oils and Vinegars. High quality products, passionate people and you get to taste just about everything! I cant recommend this store highly enough :) Its one of my favorite stores in Burlingame. I often stop by for not only high quality olive oil and vinegar but also amazing wine selection. Plus the food...they always have something interesting and new to try and its simply delicious. I love this store for many reasons. My friend and I wandered into this store on a whim and it was the BEST find we had our entire trip to SF!! Eddie (the owner) doesn't just sell olive oil and other specialty goodies...he gives you a true, genuine experience out of his passion for his work. Every product we tasted and/or learned about, whether it be olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rum preserved figs, beet soaked olives or wine, Eddie shared his knowledge and excitement with us through every moment. It never felt like we were in a store and being pushed to buy products; rather it was as if we had come over to a long-time friend's house and they were sharing all their fabulous "foodie finds" with us. This was truly the highlight of our entire trip and we were very sad to leave (but after spending close to two hours in the store we figured it was time to go). We are from Seattle but have already committed to go back for a visit any and every time we are ever in the Burlingame area again. My sister and I were walking down Burlingame Ave and happened upon Del Oliva yesterday. We like olive oil stores and walking into this store for the first time, the owners were super friendly and very passionate! They would help us with taste tests with olive oils with balsamic vinegars pairings and we were very impressed with their knowledge! They will bottle and seal the olive oil/balsamic vinegar fresh for you on the spot. They also told us about their customized gift baskets and love their idea of it. They also sell a lot of interesting charcuterie items and wines. Definitely recommend this store! Carmel has an olive oil store, but Del Oliva is much better and friendlier. read more

We took our seven year old and four year old and they tried the vinegars and since then have been happily eating salad with Del Oliva Olive Oil and vinegar every day. They never ate salad before. Serious. So cool to discover that kids have taste! I was giving them Costco Olive oil. oops. Learned my lesson. As a chinese, not a salad person as we always have cooked food on our table. Now after years of study and work in the U. S, I realized eating healthy w low carps is key to keep fit. So salad becomes a good option for us, while among all those salad dressing, our favorite is vinaigrette. Just we have no idea where to get the great one I have in the good restaurant. Two months ago we moved to Burlingame from LA, living in Downtown one of our favorite activity has become exploring all those exquisite and lovely stores one by one everyday after lunch. Del Oliva is definitely our biggest surprise so far, the owner is so nice and friendly, showed us all kinds of fruit vinegar and how it taste by mixing with different olive oil. for the first time, I get to know that to mix your favorite fruit vinegar with excellent olive oil, you got your dream vinaigrette, it'so simple yet so wonderful. I just happen to have more confidence in cooking salad with those great taste vinegar and olive oil. Today I made the classical kale salad with Del Oliva product. It's so good yet so amazing! I love it. It's like I finally find a more effective way to keep fit by using those product to cook my favorite salad and it's also great fun to try all the recipes with so many choices from Del Oliva. I've passed by this place on multiple occasions and never had the chance to stop in. With an hour and a half on the meter and my bakery shopping complete I took the opportunity to stop in. The #interiordesign of this place is #beautiful. Very #elegant, #rustic, relaxing. The person working ( this was around 2pm yesterday- maybe the owner) was very helpful and courteous, bringing me multiple samples, water and explaining the product. I mostly tried the olive oils but based on the pear balsamic, Id say you couldn't go wrong with anything. The olive oils are thick, give a slight kick to the back of your throat and have great flavor (especially the sage mushroom). From what I was told that kick tells you how fresh it is. What an awesome place. If you're an Olive Oil whore like I am then this is definitely worth checking out. Fresh pressed oils from all over the world with almost every flavor profile oils can impart. I picked up both a Portugese and Chilean selection, both with the spicy, green bite in the palate. Now if you're into smooth buttery ones they have that too, I just needed something with a harsher personality. The owner's husband travels a lot, so there's the opportunity for them to try and bring back many varietals. Hands down the best customer service I have yet to receive at a boutique shop on Burlingame Ave. The husband and wife are both fantastic people. They have great pride in their stellar products and show it through their dedication and commitment toward excellence. Today, I purchased some jam and olive oil for my aunt. Eddie was kind enough to help package the products so they wouldn't be damaged during transport. I have been to this store over a dozen times, I always get a premium product for a fair price. What an absolute treasure trove of different types of oils and balsamic vinegars, as well as beautiful bowls, storage containers, etc! My friend and I just came across the store as we walked along Burlingame Avenue, and were amazed by the variety and quality of the products we found at Del'Oliva. The owners are so friendly and informative, you can really tell that they stand by their products and are proud of the high quality of it all. I'm amazed by the flavor of their olive, almond, and walnut oils, which are superb, as well as the incredible tastes of their balsamic vinegars, with unique flavors like mango, peach, pomegranate, etc. They encourage you to try the different oils and vinegars, which taste divine. I highly encourage people to stop by and try out the products, which are very reasonably priced. I haven't found anything comparable to their products at any gourmet or grocery store, which sometimes charge much more for what you end up with. I really like their strawberry balsamic vinegar. I'm assuming others do as well as after tasting it I wanted a bottle and there was *just* enough for a small bottle. And while we were shopping there heard the owner on the phone with a customer who had bought from him 3 years earlier, and questioned if it was ok to still use the product after that long. There is no store quite like it. The owners are so knowledgeable about the products in the store. They'll have you try the different olive oils and vinegars and based on what you like, they'll make recommendations. They provide so many ideas for uses that I would never have thought of and when I go home and try it, I'm always blown away on how spot on they are. My favorites is lemon olive oil on popcorn. Who would have thought?! I've gone to many olive oil stores in the past, but after I discovered this one, I never go any where else. I tried once to go back to a different one and realized that they olive oil I got was not as fresh as at Del' Oliva and I was disappointed. I will not risk it again. Unbelievable quality and creativity! Great space for a special event for a small crowd of foodies and folks who like to eat! We were treated to a primer on olive oils and balsamic vinegars by the owners. An eye popper to know that 80% of the oil you can buy at a supermarket or specialty store is probably rancid or not what you think it is (i.e. not really the extra virgin fresh oil you are paying a premium for) Stop in here next time you are in need of olive oil - prepare to have your socks knocked off with the quality, flavor and creativity of the choices. The prices are not cheap - but not outrageous either - they are in line with any other specialty store that carries high quality oils and vinegars. Average price per small bottle is $12 up to $30 for large bottles. They also carry tiny bottles for gift packs! What a great idea instead of bringing wine to a party! read more

I received a bottle of their raspberry vinegar and LOVED it with salads .... It's much thicker than what you find in the store and has a true fresh raspberry flavor. I subsequently went back and got other flavors (fig, black cherry) but it was tough deciding because they have SO MANY choices (pomegranate, white peach, tangerine, blueberry, chocolate to name a few). They also have awesome included oils (blood orange, mushroom & sage) that can be used alone or blended with vinegars to make out-of-this-world salad dressings. Service was friendly here and you're welcomed to taste as many oils & vinegars as you want from their dispensing jugs; bottles are refillable (but no discounts for being green). I've brought several friends here who discovered a love for their oils and vinegars. These also make great gifts for any foodie friend or relative. read more

What an amazing place. This is heaven in the form of olive oil and vinegar. The selection is quite estensive and everything is really fresh. I got a bottle each of the Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar, Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar and the Peach Balsamic Vinegar. You can taste each of the oils and vinegar that they have there and the owners knowledge leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. If you are visiting from out of town just let them know and they will wrap your bottles in bubble wrap to make them safer for transport. I had to get on a flight back to Colorado and the bottles were perfectly fine when I got home. They also ship out of state so I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering from them in the future. read more

When Nash handed me a small cup of olive oil to drink, I looked at him like he was nuts. After I bit the bullet and did it though...oh my. This gem tucked away in downtown Burlingame will change the way you think about oil and vinegar. It sounds simple, but the fresh oils from across the globe are like nothing - NOTHING you've ever tasted. It's terrible too, because I can't buy oil or vinegar anywhere else anymore. Even the "quality" stuff from the supermarkets taste terrible now. All of their product is less than three months old when you buy it. It's fresh and much of it is organic - no artificial flavors or any of that weirdness. Also, when you go for the first time you will do tasting - a lot of it. Blood orange oil with tangerine balsamic, key lime oil with coconut balsamic (to die for), walnut oil with cinnamon apple balsamic, sesame with ginger honey balsamic...oh man. The real kicker for me was the sesame oil. I use sesame oil all the time - but never had I ever tasted anything like this. It was as if the seeds had been crushed right in front of me and poured into a bottle. Fresh as can be, and surprisingly light - not heavy like many oils from the supermarket. Once when I went in I got to try a reserve of the oil that had won the best in the world that past year. It was pressed less than a month ago, and it was divine. Don't pass this place by. Everyone that works there is so, so friendly, and they want you to sample everything that you can. It's worth every penny! read more
