The Dutch Crunch roll was pretty fresh and the shredded lettuce is so much better than just lettuce leaves, but overall the sandwich was just ok. As for the "market", it looks beat. No. Absolutely not. We usually get sandwiches for work from Lunardis but Adeline popped up on my Yelp as the neighborhood hidden gem that beats Little Lucca's so today I finally got a Reuben to try. WTF?! No way. Looks like a sad sandwich I made when I was 10 years old. The meat tasted like stringy, low grade refrigerated crap. And the Reuben is supposed to be one of their specialties??! Don't be fooled! Just for the record, a proper Reuben should have toasted buttered rye. I got a soft sliced wheat bread. A proper Reuben should also have 1/4lb corned beef, 2 slices of Swiss, thousand island dressing, and sauerkraut. Well I got the sauerkraut alright.... but the rest of the sandwich is seriously lacking. Take a look at my pic and you be the judge! As for the market itself, there were a lot of really old expired products on the shelves. Some were so old that the price tags were faded from constant sun exposure. This is definitely a red flag and makes you question the freshness of anything they sell. The bags of chips though, now those are definitely still fresh because that's about the only thing people buy. 3.5 stars. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got to! I love supporting small businesses so this family market was the place. When you first walk in, I have to admit it's a little awkward but the owners quickly greet you. The son makes the sandwiches and the dad is the cashier. I think the mom does a little of everything. The service itself was not extraordinary but it was enough to possibly keep me coming back. The dad was super cute and polite which I loved since it seemed like the son ran things. The sandwich itself was good. My go to is chicken salad at every deli I go to. I asked for everything no mustard and to my surprise that meant avocado too (which is why I wondered why my sandwich went from 9.50 to 12.50). The sourdough roll was really fresh and good and the fact they they add pickled jalepenos makes the sandwich different and better. The only thing is that the chicken had a really weird texture like it was chunked deli meat. All in all I would say maybe get another protein? Wish they were in a better location where ppl could find them bc there is so much potential. Gotta keep these small businesses going. I would go back if I was in the area. read more

My first thought was to go to Sam's Sandwiches, but I found out they had closed for good. Next thought was Adeline, and I was happy to see they are open and thriving! I think what makes their sandwiches so good is the liberal use of thinly sliced red onion. I add a reminiscence from the late 60's, early 70's . . . Adeline's 'Deli' was always superb for the kids going to Lincoln or Roosevelt or OLA, all schools close by. The chicken salad sandwich I ordered was MASSIVE. I actually peeked inside the bag to see if something else was mistakenly dropped in, because it was that heavy. No joke. You have the option to select from three types of bread plus all the fixings. The chicken salad tasted super fresh, and was perfect on the soft roll that I opted for. Before moving to Burlingame 4 years ago, I asked a friend and BGame native what I needed to know. He response was, "You are going to be right down the street from Adeline Market." I went in for the first time today, not knowing what to expect. Yes, it is a simple market, but the sandwiches are awesome. I had a hot pastrami on dutch crunch and it was perfect both in texture and taste. I am also a fan of Little Lucca, but in comparison LL sandwiches are way more saucy (maybe over saucy). Just popped in to grab a snack or a sandwich while walking by. I have a bit of a head cold so after walking in, I grabbed a napkin from a stack of them on a counter top and blew my nose by a trash can. The older gentleman loudly called me out and told me I should have asked for permission. I apologized, told him my intent was to shop, and that my nose was running. In an annoyed tone he said he would have said okay but I should have asked first. Not the biggest deal, but I'd lost my interest as a patron from this. It would have been polite of me to ask permission to use a single napkin but it hadn't crossed my mind. Based on the other reviews, the sandwiches seem good. I mean, this place doesn't even do anything remarkable to make their sandwiches good, they just are - no special spreads/garlic sauce/aioli. They focus on the most important thing, which is fresh, great tasting bread, meats, and cheeses. Where else can you get a fresh, giant-ass sandwich for like $6??? I went to Mercy HS up the road in '05, and one of my fondest memories was buying a sandwich while waiting at the bus stop. My 11 year old son wrote this review, and I approve. We really do enjoy Adeline Market! This place is pretty good. They have a nice friendly kid stuff but not the healthiest snacks like fresh produce or fruit or stuff like that so if your looking for a healthy snack for like a sporting he event or something else this place is not the place but if your looking for just a nice cheap snack or whatever then it's a nice place to stop in. Customer service is not great.It's a pretty much a convenience store, but doesn't have too much there, their deli and food counter isn't bad. The sandwiches aren't bad but for the price you can get more sandwich for your money at other local places nearby. But, you can purchase chips and certain drinks in their store without the higher markup pricing at a sandwich spot and parking is usually easy every time so far. This has less than a 7-Eleven, and the management is not friendly. For example, they would not sell me more than two bags of ice when they had a freezer full. What we need in this location is a high-quality grocery with decent produce. This place is amazing. I am Alejandro Cardenas. I am a person who used to come here everyday with the boys. They sell the best sandwiches ever. Not only that the people who work there are really nice and friendly, they also are a family business. There is a place outside of the market where I have had everything go down. I have had the best memories with the boys. This place has a spot in my heart. ever been to Lincoln, you would know that it is right next to ray park. Every Friday I would stay there after school with my friends and I would buy an ice cream and then we would go running back to the park and just have a good time. Then in the fifth grade, me and my friend would arrive at school at 8:10 am. We would always bring .25$ to school and sprint over to Adaline market. We would always purchase a small box of lemon heads, and then we would sneak eat them in class. During the 6th grade I made a fantasy football league. We made the draft at my friends house and there we drafted. He lived right next to Lincoln which was right next to Adeline market. At Adaline market they sell a variety of things but better. Me and the boys would always purchase this drink that was like in Arizona but better. Also at the market they sold burritos and sandwiches, and that day of the draft i bought an Adaline market sandwich. The first bite of that was amazing. That's when I realized that's the best sandwich I have ever had in my life, and here I am in my freshman year and it still is. The reason I am talking about this is because if you are ever hungry and craving a good ass sandwich, I would go here. They have the best bread I don't care what you say. Outside of the market there is a bench with a tree hanging over it and i always had the best moments with friends. Definitely recommend having a sandwich here. luv yall read more
