One of our favorite things to do when we're on vacation is to visit local supermarkets and farmers markets to see what is on offer in that part of the world. Sometimes you discover new foods and other times, you can be amazed by how expensive or inexpensive something can be. Since we can't travel internationally all the time, the next best thing is to wander into stores that offer staples from other countries. After lunch today, my wife walked into Istanbul Market next door and came out with three desserts. Unfortunately, we failed to write down the names and descriptions of what we got. Just three yummy looking morsels. We know one was Baklava. One was Turkish Delight. We're not sure what the third one was. I reserve my sweet tooth for ice cream, so I didn't personally try these, but she said that they were all super sweet. Service was reserved, but friendly. read more

Good market with many good quality products of Turkish brands. I don't like American jam or French brand at all and I can't eat it. Istanbul market has good quality Turkish jam of various fruit kinds. Also many different kind of feta cheese and also specifically Turkish versions of feta cheese, Ezine white cheese! You can't find it anywhere else and you should definitely try this one. They have also different kinds of good kashkaval cheese. Only thing that was missing was "tulum" cheese. This market is really really small, but it packs a heavy punch for all the items they've managed to cram in a tight space. I came here to get the 'Turkish Delights - mixed nut covered fruit gel, which i fell in love with back when i visited Istanbul, Turkey. The main issue for my review was my very unpleasant experience shopping here this sunday on April 30th 2023; i was second in line waiting to be helped to get the pistachio covered pomegranate delights in the refrigerated display case. There was this guy that was eye mugging me behind the counter and was talking to the guy in Turkish behind me and decided to help HIM instead of ME and i was the SECOND person in line. I felt so offended and said is this the right line or should i line up on the other side. The lady at the register said to go on the other side, but how was the guy behind me (apparently if me and him were on the wrong side to line up), helped before i was when i was the next one to have been supposedly helped. It felt as if me not speaking the native tongue of Turkish or being non Turkish made me a target of non priority and invisibility. It was such reffing BS. i hope that the guy that ignored me and helped the guy behind me and sees this review and recognizes he made a mistake. He's in his 40's, brunette hair with light salt n pepper gray, he was wearing fitted blue jeans and white shoes. He was the POS of the week for me. Karma will get him i hope. read more

Looks like they just opened. Friendly and well stocked with some very interesting selections. I will return again with a full shopping list but was glad they were opened as I needed a few items. Parking is street parking so this area can be a challenge during busy times. read more

newly married to a kurdish man, i try my best to incorporate dishes from his culture. they have all the ingredients you'll need for any middle eastern recipe and produce as well. the cashier is very nice as well as the man handling the meat. they have items available from cheeses, items to bake at home, bread, treats, sauces and a lot more. if you're in a pinch and cannot find a sauce or seasoning try this store out and google translate ahead of time because sometimes the seasonings are in turkish! it is a small store and parking is limited but for the size they surprisingly have everything you'd need. read more

I never been at this store. I found it online and placed an order. Paid shipping as well. So everything was fine. Delivery was going to be in three day. End of third day. I saw an email saying my payment was refunded for the items that placed an order for. I would expected a little more that. At least we are of the product so we are refunding your payment etc. I sent an email and asked for more info. It has been a week and still no respond. They charge 20$ for shipping. They sent me wrong item. When I called, they were very dismissive, asked if I could come and pick it up! Why would I pay 20$ for shipping if i will end up driving anyways. I said they can drop it whenever they are in the area, they said they will call back after 2 weeks still no-one called. Very clean store and welcoming owner during my visit for this non-Turkish lady. It brought back wonderful memories of the warm hospitality and delicious food I experienced while vacationing in Turkey. I was like a kid in a toy store selecting sucuk, olives, cheese, pepper paste, bulgur, delicious meze delights in a can (dolma, beans), jams, teas, and sweets. We used to prefer this grocery for turkish / middle eastern food despite it's far away to my home because it's clean, but last time we went there at 8 am because they say they open at 8 am on Sunday, waited like 15 minutes and nobody showed up.
